• ActiveX doesn't show up in Browser

  Hi, i'm trying to put an activeX object on an asp-webpage. it already worked good a week ago, but now the object isn't showing up anymore. already made a little asp testing-project....just an asp-page and a activex control, containing a button and a label. but when i call up the page in the browser, there is only a white area with a little icon in the upper left corner, showing a red dot, a green triangle and a blue rectangle.... what does that mean? object not found? object blocked by IE? or what exactly does this icon stand for? i always thoght that an missing object is represented by an empty area with a little red cross in it. =/

• httpCookie cause the page not to load

  I'm using VS 2010, vb.net and asp 3.5. I have a simple default.aspx page that has Dim ctx As HttpContext = HttpContext.Current Dim cookie As HttpCookie = ctx.Request.Cookies("SessionGUID") Me.lbl1.Text = cookie.Value.ToString the page loads fine when running it from within VS, but when i build the site and run the page, it doesn't load.. it doesn't give me an error, but nothing shows up. This is what the view source looks like HTMLHEAD META content="text/html; charset=windows-1252" http-equiv=Content-Type/HEAD BODY/BODY/HTML I took out the < in the tags so that it would display here... If i take out the Me.lbl1.Text = cookie.Value.ToString the page loads fine.. All i'm putting to the page is some text and the label control. anyone have any ideas

I think this is strange since calling ggplot directly produces the right plot: i <- 2 ggplot(diamonds, aes(x=diamonds[,i]))+geom_bar()+xlab(names(diamonds)[i]) I don't really know how to describe this as a fitting title - suggestions as to a more descriptive question-title is most welcome. • Gluing tiles together using imagemagick's montage command

  This seems like it might be a reasonably common question, so I'm going to ask it using as many keywords as I can think of! I have a bunch of (well, nine) tile jpegs, with standard tile filenames. Each jpeg is 220x175 pixels: (top row) tile_1_0_0.jpg tile_1_1_0.jpg tile_1_2_0.jpg (middle row) tile_1_0_1.jpg tile_1_1_1.jpg tile_1_2_1.jpg (bottom row) tile_1_0_2.jpg tile_1_1_2.jpg tile_1_2_2.jpg How can I use imagemagick/montage to 'glue' or join them all together to make a single, coherent image? I don't want to resize them at all, so I guess the final image should be 660x525. That would be montage with no framing, shadowing, bordering, etc - just the nine original images, glued together to make a single jpeg. I know it should be something along these lines, but I'm struggling with getting the order and sizing right: montage +frame +shadow +label -tile 3x3 -geometry <options> *.jpg joined.jpg

I want to add label for checkboxes to title them, but I have to guess their ids in hmtl layout. Options[" + i + "].Selected turns into Options_0__Selected How can I avoid hardcoding Id generation in-built asp.net mvc rules? Thank you advance.

• Does Java Mac OSX native look and feel respect UIManager font changes?

  I have a java applet and the only look and feel that works properly is the native mac one. I wanted to make the fonts a bit larger and tried using the standard UIManager methods UIManager.put("Label.font", new Font("Georgia", Font.PLAIN, 18)); This produces no change. It does not throw an exception, of course. Does anyone know if the native mac look and feel ignores these? I know there are specific ways to make controls different sizes on mac but these only seem to make them smaller. You cannot make the controls larger than regular.

• Devise authenticating with username instead of email

  I'm new to Devise and have it working fine by using an email address as the authentication key. However, I have a use case which requires a username instead and I can't seem to get it working. I've added a string column, "username" to the users table, changed the fields from :email to :username in the sign-in form, and have changed the authentication key in devise.rb to :username yet when I go to sign in I'm met with this prompt: "Please enter an email address".   Hi all, In my aplication, I want a tableview with different cell structure depending upon the category of data that's getting loaded in it [I have different categories like video, editorial etc with different structure of data like video has a single label, editorial has 3 labels etc]. I can load different nib files based on the data coming from xml parser. Now when the cell is tapped, I want to show its detailed view on a new viewController. So my question is is it possible to use only 1 viewController show different fields depending upon the category of data in the cell. Or do I need to create different viewControllers for each of the categories?

• Zooming to UIView and it's sub-views

  Hi, I have a UIView which I can zoom to (as it is set as a subview of UIScrollView). UIView has UILabel, UITextField, etc. If I just zoom to the UIView, then of course label and text field get fuzzy (the same effect if you are zooming to the image file without changing image resolution). To solve the problem I need to increase the font size and sizes of the UILable and UITextField in according to the scale used to zoom in (scale is passed as a param by the UIScrollView). This is where I am getting confused. Changing frame (by increasing it width and height by zooming scale) I get all my elements (sub-views) repositions (because changing frame effects center and bounds) Question: 1. What would I need to do to zoom in to the sub-views and just increase the sub-view sizes while keeping them in the exactly the same position? thanks

• Rails table inheritance issue

  I've setup some models in the table inheritance fashion and everything seems to be all fine and dandy. But, when I use a collection select field to select values from one of the models it saves it but it saves the ID of the data and not the actual value of the data. So when I try to display the value on the show view it just shows the corresponding ID and not the actual value. Here is my setup. I'm using formtastic as a side note.   First, I am SO sorry if the answer is out there. I've looked and looked and feel this is such a simple thing that it should be obvious. I'm wanting to make sure only the person who added an event can modify it. Simple! I already have a datasource that has event_added_by as a data point. It is populating a FormView. • Matlab Question - Principal Component Analysis

  I have a set of 100 observations where each observation has 45 characteristics. And each one of those observations have a label attached which I want to predict based on those 45 characteristics. So it's an input matrix with the dimension 45 x 100 and a target matrix with the dimension 1 x 100. The thing is that I want to know how many of those 45 characteristics are relevant in my set of data, basically the principal component analysis, and I understand that I can do this with Matlab function processpca. Could you please tell me how can I do this? Suppose that the input matrix is x with 45 rows and 100 columns and y is a vector with 100 elements.

  Hi I am implementing an IM app on iOS. I found that three20 library has a TTStyledTextLabel which provides cool features like showing images and url links. However I want to embed the TTStyledTextLabel in a message bubble (just like the sms app shipped with iphone does), where I need the label to adjust its size according to the text length. I found that TTStyledTextLabel can adjust its height according to its width, but I don't know how to make it shrink horizontally when the text is very short and can't fill up a whole line. Any suggestions?

(i.e. something equivalent to what="1-f"). Is there a way to do it? Other suggestions in R other than using Hmisc are also very much welcomed.
