  • Visual Studio: Debuggin non localhost domain, locally

    I have an entry in my hosts file that points somesite.com to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) so that I can test certain aspects of my web app (i goto http://somesite.com in a browser to test). Can someone suggest a way to debug a setup like this (in visual studio) that does not include using http://localhost? I understand that this can most likely be done using remote debugger, if that is the best way can someone explain how thats setup (or a link to a good article).

  • C++ - Resources in static library question

    Hello! This isn't a duplicate of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/531502/vc-resources-in-a-static-library because it didn't help :) I have a static library with TWO .rc files in it's project. When I build my project using the Debug configuration, I retrieve the following error (MSVS2008): fatal error LNK1241: resource file res_yyy.res already specified Note, that this happens only in Debug and Release library builds without any troubles. The command line for Resources page in project configuration looks the same for every build: /fo"...(Path here)/Debug/project_name.res" /fo"...(Path here)/Release/project_name.res" and I can't understand what's the trouble. Any ideas? UPDATE I don't know why this happens, but when I turn "Use Link-Time Code Generation" option on the problem goes away. Could somebody explain why does this happen? I feel like MS-compiler is doing something really strange here. Thanks.

    The signature of the hashCode() method is public int hashCode(){ return x; } in this case x must be an int(primitive) but plz can anyone explain it to me that the number which the hashCode() returns must be a prime number, even number...etc or there is no specification ? the reason behind i am asking this question is i have seen it in different ids the auto generated code always returns a prime number, so i need to know why? thanks in advance

  • How to make javascript for font sizes fully language dependent?

    Hello All I have a multilanguage webiste English and Arabic. The javascript for the fontsizes is included in the theme not in the .css. Both language have different fontsize 16 and 12. When switching from English to Arabic the English letters such as ( dates and stuff like that ) are shown way too big. And when switching from English to Arabic the arabic letters are too small. I would really like to make this javascrip fully language dependent so that the English letters being shown in the Arabic version keeps the same fontsize as in English version and vice versa for arabic. //-- function setstyle(tag){ var elements = document.getElementsByTagName(tag); for (var i = 0; i The following script is the current javascript included in the theme.   • Delegation, is this just opinionated or is there a common pattern?

    If I have a java class containing substantial code and I wish to add extra features, am I right in thinking the delegate class would have the additional features added as methods. Then my original class would create the delegate object and just call the extra functionality via the delegate instance? I am being told by somebody else that my original class should become the delegate and that the class containing the new functionality should contain an instance of the original class, to use as a delegate? This seemed a little backward to me, because there would be far more delegate calls because most of the code is now in the delegate.... I was always under the impression the delegate object would contain the additional new behaviour and an instance of it would be in the original class to inboke the new behaviour from?

  • JBoss envers and huge audit tables

    All, I am auditing my JEE application with JBoss Evers and the nature of my application causes the audit table to grow very fast. The historic data is queried infrequently and access time is not really an issue, apart from the data from the last week. This data IS queried frequently and access needs to be fast. Ideally, I would split the data and distribute it over two tables, with the older data in compressed format. Unfortunately, Envers does not allow spreading data over multiple tables as far as I can tell from the docs. Does somebody have any idea what would be the best way to achieve this (if possible while still using Envers)? Cheers, LeChe

    In my application, I have a dictionary of phrases that are used throughout of the application. This same dictionary is used to create PDFs and Excel Spreadsheets. The dictionary looks like so: GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB = { 'fiscal_year': _('Fiscal Year'), 'region': _('Region / Focal Area'), 'prepared_by': _('Preparer Name'), 'review_cycle':_('Review Period'), ... snip ... } In the code to produce the PDF, I have: fy = dashboard_v.fiscal_year fy_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['fiscal_year'] rg = dashboard_v.dashboard.region rg_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['region'] rc = dashboard_v.review_cycle rc_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['review_cycle'] pb = dashboard_v.prepared_by pb_label = GLOBAL_MRD_VOCAB['prepared_by'] Now, when the PDF is produced, in the PDF, I don't see these labels but rather, I see: <django.utils.functional.__proxy__ object at 0x10106fdd0> Can somebody help me with this?   • What's Your favorite f# use? where does f# makes life (a lot) easier (compared to c#)?

    I've skimmed the stack and did not get the overflow as there is probably no such question. I'm just learning f# and I am A seasoned c# and .net dev. I am into financial apps and currently F# helps me a lot with maths calcs like zero finding or minimum finding (although I still want some good maths library there). I see that processing multiple items (files or smth) tends to be easier, but my GUI (web, win) are still c# based. I am in the team of 5 devs and we know that the new tool is out, we are learning it after hours (to pimp ourselves up) but maybe we shouldn't bash the door somebody already opened. So in business apps, whats Your first killer part of soft You would code in F# (if You could and would know IT would be easier, faster, more testable, easier to maintain etc.? Business rules? ImageProcessing? Data processing? hope it's not to subjective. luke

I have a Qt GUI application (written by me), let's call it QtAPP.exe When QtAPP.exe running, I will use a QThread and QProcess to execute some external file, such as player.exe (written in native C). Here's my question: In QtAPP.exe, there are 2 classes, 1. QMainWindow - Core of QtAPP.exe 2. QThread - A thread class to execute external things For now, if I got a finished() signal in that QThread, how do I to force the QMainWindow to repaint itself ? Hope somebody can show me some tips, maybe sample code :) Any suggestion are welcome~

    Hi Can somebody fill me in on JavaScript Testing Frameworks? I'm working on a project now and as the JS (Mostly jQuery) libraries grow, it's getting more and more difficult to introduce change or refactor, because I have no way of guaranteeing the accuracy of the code without manually testing everything. I don't really know anything about JavaScript Testing Frameworks, or how they integrate/operate in a .Net project, so I thought I'd ask here. What would a good testing framework be for .Net? What does a JavaScript test look like? (e.g. with NUnit, I have [TestFixture] classes & [Test] methods in a ProjectTests assembly) How do I run a javascript test?     I have a non-contiguous range on rows (example address of myRange: $2:$2,$4:$205,$214:$214) and I would like to access a specific row and column within the range. I have tried the following: 'Get the value of the 2nd row, 1st column within the range myRange.rows(2).Cells(, 1).Value However, this is giving me the value of the 2nd row in the WorkSheet, and NOT in the range - meaning it is giving me address $3$1 - and not $4$1 Can someone please explain how I can access the values within in my range?   • Why can I set an anonymous enum equal to another in C but not C++?
