    I'm trying to convert the FAT32 file system of an external hard drive to NTFS. Here's what happened: C:\Windows\system32>chkdsk G: The type of the file system is FAT32. Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems. G: was not converted to NTFS I looked at the TechNet page for my error, but after closing every app the conversion was still failing halfway through. Why does it keep failing? I kept an eye on Task Manager but it didn't look like my system resources were near depletion. I'm using Windows 8.

  • Does Chrome have a quick find shortcut similar to ' in Firefox?

    I absolutely lived on the ' shortcut in Firefox, which allows you to do a find that applies to text links, and it focuses on them so you can hit Enter and proceed to that link. Chrome only has ctrl-f which focuses on links as well, but you have to ESC out and then hit Enter, which is not as immediate as the Firefox shortcut. Is anyone aware of a Chrome shortcut that replicates this functionality? Or is there some hidden shortcut/key that does this in Chrome which I'm simply unaware of?

    My client had me deploy some folders out to a bunch of home directories for his customer websites. I did this with a Bash script, but it ended up using the root account permissions. How do I make a Bash script that takes each folder under /home/user (not hidden files or folders), gets the user and group ownership of that folder, and then does a chown -R {user}.{group} /home/user? The servers are running CentOS Linux.

  • How do I view raw email headers in Outlook 2010?

    Is it possible to view raw / complete email headers in Outlook 2010? In Outlook 2007 you could go to View Options, or right click on a message, then select Options, and "Internet Headers" could be viewed. However, in Outlook 2010 there is no "Options" in the context menu nor can I find it elsewhere. Has it been removed altogether or moved (hidden) someplace else? Thanks for any advise!

  • Boot Toshiba Portege M200 with no CD drive

    This has not CD drive and I would like to boot to Acronis to reload from an image that I created. I don't know how else to get the OS and all the drivers loaded. It doesn't seem to have Toshiba hidden boot partion on the HD. It doesn't seem to recognize my USB external CD drive or my USB flash drive. Any ideas? Paul

  • How do I make the icons smaller in Stacks grid view for Snow Leopard?

    Since I installed Snow Leopard, I'm stuck with huge icons in my stacks/folder views in my dock. It use to adjust the layout and size of the window so that as many icons as possible fit on the screen, but now it shows huge icons and a scrollbar instead. I'd like the old behavior back so I don't have to scroll anymore. Does anyone know where the setting for this is? Maybe hidden in some .plist?

    Recently noticed that my icons settings in notification area are getting reset on system restart. For example I specify Skype icon to always show icon and notification. After I restart Windows - it's hidden again. It's not just for one specific icon, it's for all of them. Checking box "Always shows icons and notifications" works, and all icons appear, but this is not an option. Please help. Thanks.

    HI all, I am currently using nginx as front-end proxy for Apache. I have setup nginx to use port 80 and Apache to use 8080. But after nginx redirected the request to Apache, the port 8080 is visible from the browser. Is there any way this port can be hidden and not visible because it would be very ugly for users that wants to bookmark it. THanks in advance for your help.

    I use a MAC and I want to completely block ads on my Google Chrome browse. What I mean by completely is that I don't want the ads to be just hidden. I understand that Google Chrome adblock addons currently hide ads, but can't prevent them from downloading. Is there a work around to this problem? Also, I use Firefox as my primary browser and I am on a proxy server on a Local network.

  • Starting Powerpoint show from ActiveX button

    I have several slide shows where topic related shows are launched from another show which acts as an index page. This worked fine in 2007 but now in Office 2010, whilst the show is still launched correctly from the index button, Powerpoint reopens on top of it, so now the show is hidden behind the Powerpoint startup page.     Why does OS X have both a "Hide" and a "Minimize" feature? This seems somewhat redundant to me, and also introduces some inconsistency when I am trying to find an arbitrary window. If it's hidden, I need to activate the application and use the "Windows" menu to bring it up; if the window is minimized, it appears in the dock. What are some scenarios in which you'd use these two features differently?

    Is there a way to view the data that Centreon uses to build graphs, from within the Centreon web interface? We have some gaps in some of our graphs, and I would like to see if it is a problem with the data being returned from the NRPE plugins. I have seen the MonitoringEvent Logs section, but I can't get that to show the returned string and status for each call to a particular plugin, which is what I'd like.     How can I list all files (including system and hidden) on all hard drives (not removable drives)? I think in something like a: dir -a -h *.* /s > file.txt but this is for the specific drive where I'm. How can I do something like that but with C:, D:, etc, but I don't know the DOS's name of the drivers, and i need a .bat to do this (an automatic listing). Implementer can't also know the names of drivers.
