• WPF TextBox Custom Dictionary Support

  Has anyone found a workaround yet for getting custom dictionary support working for the built in spellchecking on WPF TextBoxes/RichTextBoxes? We've been probing the spelling stuff with reflector hoping to find where the dictionary entries are coming from, but it's looking very much like it's going to be a COM object.... I know it's not currently supported and that Microsoft were looking into supporting it in a future release, but that was quite a while ago and I can't seem to find any recent news about it. • Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table

  I've recently started to use SQLite and began to integrate it into a C# project I'm working on. However, randomly my project will throw the exception: Input array is longer than the number of columns in this table I'm having a hard time trying the trace the problem because it seems to be thrown on a random basis. • Why is the form action attribute empty on production server?

  After deploying a ASP.NET WebForms application to a production server some of the ajax calls has stopped working for me. After some debugging I found out that the following statement (in the internal client-method WebForm_DoCallback) was causing the problem: xmlRequest.open("POST", action, true); The problem seemed to be that the action-variable was empty so after checking the rendered html I found out that the form-tag rendered on the production server looks like: <form method="post" action="" id="Form1"> However, on my developer machine I get the following: <form method="post" action="default.aspx" id="Form1"> So, why would the action-attibute render on my dev.machine but not on the production server? This seems to be the case only for one specific web form, when I look on other pages the action-attribute renders correctly. Any suggestions or ideas would be helpful!

  Hello, let me ask your opinion. I'm 25 now, living in Germany. I started with QBASIC, did some Java in Highschool, and after School I created some Websites in PHP. Now, because my Company is Microsoft Gold Partner, I've to use Microsoft all the time. C#, MSSQL, ASPX and Sharepoint <- I really hate it! So, in my spare I concentrate to gain more knowledge (C++, Java, Silverlight or WPF), because it feels that I'm so far behind, in comparison for example to you guys, or other older employees in my company. Do think that my behaviour is useful? Should I focus my time to become i.e. a pure C# Programmer? I did C# even before I started to learn some C++. Should I learn what do with pointers, memcpy and stuff like that, even if managed code brings us so much benefits? Or is it a waste of time, better invested in learning the latest technologies? rAyt

  I will have one streaming-server (W2k8, unknown streaming protocol [rtsp, mss, http]) and half dozen streaming-servers as proxies to save bandwidth. I have read the documentation and installed the modules, but I am unsure how I have to configure the proxy's according to http://technet.microsoft.com/de-de/library/ee126142(en-us,WS.10).aspx - as a proxy or reverse proxy and how I minimize the bandwidth needs between origin server and proxy's. What is the best way to realize my setup? Any short how-tos? How can I announce all players to use the proxy? Route all rtsp/mms/http-requests through my proxy? Announce the proxy with DHCP-releases?   I have an ASP.NET web application(webforms,not MVC) developed in VS 2008 and i have implemented ASP.NET web forms URL routing by following this link http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/articles/051309-1.aspx#postadlink It works pretty good when i run it on the Visual studion IDE.But does not works when i created a site under my IIS (IIS 5.1 in XP) and deployed the same files there.I have set ASP.NET version as 2.0 in the Properties window of my application too.But does not work. I am showing datepicker on textbox "txtDateOfAssignment". If the Enabled property of this textbox is false then datepicker should not be active on that. Anybody have an idea? Thanks in advance.

  I am trying to wrap my head around a URL rewrtie / redirect project I need to work on. We currently have this url: www.domain.com/Details/Detail.aspx?param1=8&param2=12345 Here is what the rewritten URL will look like: www.domain.com/Param1/8/Param2/12345 I am using the ISAPI_Rewrite filter to allow for the "nice" url and make the page think it is still using the old url. That works fine. Now, I need to redirect users, if they use the old URL, to the new URL. I fgiure I would need to use a combination of the filter and an HTTPModule / Handler to perfomr the redirect. Any ideas?

  Hi! I'm trying to make a C# program which will use a C .dll (unfortunately, the .dll doesn't have good documentation) to access a smart card. One of the functions of the .dll uses name of the reader as argument. My problem is that I don't know how to get the name. • TreeView nodes always have .Checked=true on postback even when not checked in UI

  I have a treeview in my .aspx: <asp:TreeView ID="tvDocCatAndType" runat="server" /> Not much else going on in the page -- two <asp:LinkButtons> and one <asp:Label>; the page is a child of a master page, so these controls are within a <asp:Content> control. I populate the treeview in code -- just 3 node levels, including the root node. All nodes have checkboxes, and I initialize all node.Checked to true. I have some Javascript to do the usual check/uncheck up and down the tree as parent and child node checkboxes are toggled. No matter how many checkboxes I clear in the UI, on postback every single node has node.Checked = true regardless of the state of the checkbox in the UI. This is not the first time I've used a treeview, but I've never had this problem before. I created this page by light adaptation of an earlier project that works fine. • How can I enable Vista/Win 7 theming/style for a ToolTip control?

  In Windows Vista and Windows 7, ToolTips have a new visual style or theme, they are shiny grey metallic. How can I enable the new style for a ToolTip control? Some controls, like ListViews and ToolBars, use the new tooltips automatically, but other tooltips are rendered with the old yellow XP style. I've tried sending an TTM_SETWINDOWTHEME message but nothing happens and I'm not sure what string I am supposed to use for the visual style name. SetWindowTheme doesn't work either, I've used it successfully on ListViews and TreeViews to set the "Explorer" style (see http://www.danielmoth.com/Blog/TreeViewVista.aspx), but that doesn't seem to work on ToolTips. I'm using the plain win32 C API.

  I have 2 webparts which are connected, where the provider sends a string to the consumer. However it fails to work if I put any TextBox controls in the consumer webpart. (works fine if I use a Label or Literal control. The idea is that the consumer is to be composed of form controls like TextBoxes. e.g. the codeproject sample at http://www.codeproject.com/KB/sharepoint/ConnectingCustomWebParts.aspx Works fine... until you replace the consumer Label control with a TextBox. • Send HTTP Post with default browser with C#

  Hello, I am wondering if it is possible to send POST data with the default browser of a computer in C#. Here is the situation. My client would like the ability to have their C# application open their browser and send client information to a webform. This webform would be behind a login screen. The assumption from the application side is that once the client data is sent to the login screen, the login screen would pass that information onto the webform to prepopulate it. This would be done over HTTPS and the client would like this to be done with a POST and not a GET as client information would be sent as plain text. I have found some wonderful solutions that do POSTS and handle the requests. • "Look" of page changes a bit after uploading it to IIS - looks good on computer same IE8

  No it's not a path issue...or else the site won't have a design. The website looks fine if I open it with IE8 in my computer. But after I upload it to IIS 6.0 two things change on positioning. I see a rendering problem. But if I open it with IE 8.0 on my machine it looks good, but opening it when uploaded to IIS , it changes a bit. Same exact files. Same browser, same computer. The only different thing is that it has been uploaded to IIS. IT has no programming in aspx whatsoever just .html .css and .js

• precompile App_LocalResources in Visual Studio

  My web-application project (not "web-site" project) is translated to 15 different languages using the ASP.NET's built-in resource engine (I have tons of *.aspx.resx file in the "App_LocalREsources" folder). All these resources are precompiled by ASP.NET when I first launch the application and it takes a LOT of time. A LOT. 5-10 minutes. I have to wait 5-10 minutes every time I make soe tiny change to my code to see how it works. Is there any way to compile these resource in Visual Studio? Changing the "Build Action" for all these resx-files to "Embedded resource" does not work :( (or I'm doing it wrong?) PS. I know I can write a batch file that will launch aspnet_compiler.exe and manually compile the app with all the resources, but thats a "hack". I need a documented "Visual Studio"-way to achieve this. Cause I have a setup-project for this app in the same solution, that picks up the "project output" of this web-app (and it won't pick-up any manually precompiled files I made)

  Hi All, I am using asp.net 3.5 and C# for my personal blog site. I want to include retweet\tweet button on every post I have made, for this I have some query. I have made the account on twitter with my website name. As I want to check the individual tweets for each of my post, do I have to create new account for each post or do I have to include new list for each post. As my post has the url something like this www.mywebsite.net/myblog.aspx?id=9 , with this id I am recognising the post. • IIS7 Rewrite changing default button

  Hey, I've run into a strange problem regarding default buttons in master pages and IIS7 rewrite module. All my content pages have default buttons set in the code-behind (on prerender), or they are in panels on the aspx page. This works fine on my local machine and on the production server. However, when I enable IIS7 URL Rewrite, the default button is always to the one in the master page. protected void LoginButton_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e) { Button btnDefault = sender as Button; this.Page.Form.DefaultButton = btnDefault.UniqueID; } That's how I set my default button in the code-behind. • Dynamically load .asmx web-service

  I have an .aspx page that can perform a number of functions. The type of function is determined at run-time depending on which button the user clicks. This makes makes a web-service call to an .asmx method. The web-service call returns html and javascript which then become part of the original page. This new content has javascript events attached to button clicks, data validation etc. In turn these events then call their own web-service methods in another .asmx file. The main page does not know about these other .asmx files when the page loads. So, is there any way of dynamically loading these .asmx files on demand?
