  Hi, I have setup for Android development with 1.5 SDK on Mac O.S X - Eclipse 3.5. I want to upgrade the SDK, so as i followed to choose Window-Android SDK and AVD Manager from Eclipse. But it throws error as follows: XML verification failed for https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository/repository.xml. Error: cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'sdk:sdk- repository'. Failed to fetch URL I tried "http" instead of https, but still getting the same error. I don't know why such crap error comes. If i see Android website, http://developer.android.com/intl/zh-CN/sdk/index.html its confusing. Could someone guide me easily to update Android SDK to 2.x or later without uninstalling my current setup environment. Thanks. I appreciate your kind suggestions.

I'm referring specifically to multi-statement "functions", not single statement ones like MAX or MIN. What are the pros and cons of each method, and why would you choose one over the other in various situations?

  I'm interested in building a heatmap with geom_tile in ggplot2 that uses a different gradient high color based on a factor. The plot below creates the plot where the individual tiles are colored blue or red based on the xy_type, but there is no gradient. ggplot() + geom_tile(data=mydata, aes(x=factor(myx), y=myy, fill=factor(xy_type))) + scale_fill_manual(values=c("blue", "red")) The plot below does not use the xy_type factor to choose the color, but I get a single group gradient based on the xy_avg_value. ggplot() + geom_tile(data=mydata, aes(x=factor(myx), y=myy, fill=xy_avg_value)) Is there a technique to blend these two plots? I can use a facet_grid(xy_type ~ .) to create separate plots of this data, with the gradient. As this is ultimately going to be a map (x~y coordinates), I'd like to find a way to display the different gradient together in a single geom_tile map.

• Is Cancan's accessible_by my best choice for altering admin scope on the fly?

  Situation: On my site, I have a comment model, with a deleted field. Users cannot see deleted comments, but I would like to allow admins to see deleted comments, if they choose to. This will be accomplished by having a scope for users with the admin role which allows them to view comments with the deleted field set to false, as well as true. Question: Is Cancan's accessible_by method my best choice for doing so? From what I've read, it sounds like it will facilitate exactly what I'm trying to do, but, I don't want to implement something that is inefficient, if there is a better method.

  I've been using xtable package for a long time, and looking forward to writting my first package in R... so I reckon that if I have some "cool" idea that's worth carying out, there's a great chance that somebody got there before me... =) I'm interested in functions/packages specialized for LaTeX table creation (through R, of course). I bumped on quantreg package which has latex.table function. Any suggestion for similar function(s)/package(s)? P.S. I'm thinking about building a webapp in which users can define their own presets/templates of tables, choose style, statistics, etc. It's an early thought, though... =)

  I want to develop a StringConverter with standard values, which after attaching it to a PropertyGrid will act like comboBox with autocompletion. The example below will give me a comboBox, but without the autocompletion - user have to expand it and choose manually one of the items. But if user selected images of larger resolution like 3000x2000, the scaling take lot time & freezes the application until scale done.   Hi I am not sure why I am having this problem, maybe I am using the check_box_tag incorrectly. I have a form that is used to send an email message. You are supposed to be able to choose one or more boxes that represent different groups of people. <%= check_box_tag (:bcc_email, value = @spouses) %> <%= f.label :bcc_email, "Company Spouses" %><br /> <%= check_box_tag (:bcc_email, value = @soldiers) %> <%= f.label :bcc_email, "Company Soldiers" %><br /> The values are an array of email addresses. Those work fine, I have had them functioning as drop down menus for sometime. When I look at the HTML page source the values are there, they are just not being passed along with the create method. • Google's OpenID identifier is different depending on the "consumer" domain name. How to avoid potent

  I'm currently testing an OpenID implementation, and I'm noticing that Google sends a different identifier for different consuming host name / domain name, even for the same user. For example, Google sends a different identifier when the requesting site is localhost, compared to the identifier they send when the requesting site is 127.0.0.1 for the same user. Note: I haven't actually tested this using public domain names, but I can't see why the behavior would be any different. My concern with Google's behavior is that if we ever choose to change our website domain name in the future, then users will no longer be able to log in to the website using Google's OpenId as the identity provider. This seems to be a big problem. Am I missing something, or are all OpenID consuming sites faced with this potential problem? I've also tested this with MyOpenId, but the identifier that MyOpenId creates is fixed, so this wouldn't be a problem with them. Thanks.

• What good timesheet should and shouldn't have for a small (non programming) 50 people company?

  I'm sure most people here had to fill at least one time sheet in their life that made their life miserable, hell it's even the worst time taker ever especially after you have to fill it in hurry. I will be developing some simple TimeSheet application for a small company of 50 people (non programming related, it's actually 4 companies working together) and would like it to be user friendly and as less disturbing as possible. So what in your opinion makes it a good timesheet (lack of it doesn't count :p), what data it should store? Should be only hours per day with possibility to choose project, company and simple overview what you have worked on like: Day 1, 3:00, 'Company 1', 'Project5', 'Name', Short Overview Day 1, 5:00, 'Company 2', 'Project6', 'Name', Short Overview Or should it gather more data? Would it be realy bad if it were an WinForms application considering that I don't know ASP.NET or any other web based language? I would be deploying it using ClickOnce or so.

It's a service that converts values between different units. The units are stated in the WSDL. If not, can it be forced to do so By employing PDO::ATTR_EMULATE_PREPARES setting, the name is pretty self-explanatory. $dbh-setAttribute( PDO::ATTR_EMULATE_PREPARES, false ); should you do that? That's hardest question of them all. Well, I'd say - yes, you should. If you choose PDO as your db driver, there is no point in using it in the emulation mode. by YOUR COMMON SENSE Aren't prepared statements secure from SQL injection, why change if from 'true'-false?? what is native mode??

  I have some buttons on my WPF UI and I also need to choose files from time to time. I kept noticing strange problems where when I double-click an item in the file dialog, a button on the main UI would also get clicked. After experimenting, it seems that if you line up an item in the file dialog with a button behind it on the main UI and double click to select the file, it will single-click the button behind it as well. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just a freak bug with the way I have my UI laid out?

  Hi I have the problem that my view controller class has too many delegates and starts to get big. I want to write the delegates in separate classes to keep the view controller class small. For delegates that are programmatically created (like UIAlertViewDelegate) I could do it easily. The problem is in the delegates assigned in Interface Builder. How can I tell the IB to assign, for example, another class as the UITableViewDelegate or UITableViewDataSource? Or how to choose another IBAction method for a Touch UP inside Event on a button? One solution would be to delete the connections from IB and write them programmatically at ViewDidLoad, but since I have a lot of ViewControllers, this would take a long time. any other ideas?

• Can I combine atom feeds from separate resources into one?

  I have two resources for which I would like to generate feeds; they are called podcasts and posts. The problem is that when I include the auto_discovery_link in my templates, I have to add one for each of the two atom feeds that I've generated. The reason why this is a problem is that there are now two feeds for users to choose from, and most people probably won't realise that they need both so will only pick one. Is there a way to combine atom feeds from different resources into one atom feed? Like application.atom or something? I'm using builder to generate the feed.

I can add all the new files in my working copy before do commit, and the repository changes, but if for example i delete one file of the working copy i dont know the way to add this change before do commit. When you use the tortoise for example before do commit the program shows all the changes of the working copy and you can choose what changes commit and what changes dont. There is some way to do this usin sharp svn?? thanks for your answer!!!

I now how if loop works but i don't know how to wite it in grails. I was thinking something like this: n=1 if(params.type=Dani){ n= 3600 }else if(params.type=Sati) { n=60 } def minute=params.minute*n but how to call that choosen input "Dani"? I can't write Params.type=Dani. Does if loop go in controller in my case?

• Tortoise SVN does not give option to "Add to SVN"

  I've created an SVN repository and added folders and added contents and Committed. No problem. But when go to add a new folder (the others were on the P:\ drive, now I want to add our website which is on the C:\ drive) but Tortoise doesn't give me the option of Adding a folder. I have no idea why. Help file shows the instructions I'd expect ("right click on the folder you want to add and choose +Add...") but Add... isn't in the menu. This is TortoiseSVN v 1.6.7.18415 (I'm about to update it but I was able to add folders before so I don't think this is just a bug, I think maybe I'm missing something obvious).

• googlemap zoom in iphone application

  Hi all, i have a problem in iphone application that i have integrated google map and i am calculating center runtime so that the map shows both points on the iphone screen, the alogrithm applied (thanks to stackover flow) is working fine in case of 2 locations very far from each other. But it is not working for near locations and the zoom level goes too much that it is not able to show any images of those two near locations, so i want to put a check that if the location are very near to each other OR the google is not able to show the maps of the locations then it choose the default zoom level so that it shows the map on the screen instead of blank / black screen. • Unsigned versus signed numbers as indexes

  Whats the rationale for using signed numbers as indexes in .Net? In Python, you can index from the end of an array by sending negative numbers, but this is not the case in .Net. It's not easy for .Net to add such a feature later as it could break other code perhaps using special rules (yeah, a bad idea, but I guess it happens) on indexing. Not that I have ever have needed to index arrays over 2,147,483,647 in size, but I really cannot understand why they choose signed numbers. Can it be because it's more normal to use signed numbers in code?
