  • Fluent NHibernate/SQL Server 2008 insert query problem

    - by Mark
    Hi all, I'm new to Fluent NHibernate and I'm running into a problem. I have a mapping defined as follows: public PersonMapping() { Id(p => p.Id).GeneratedBy.HiLo("1000"); Map(p => p.FirstName).Not.Nullable().Length(50); Map(p => p.MiddleInitial).Nullable().Length(1); Map(p => p.LastName).Not.Nullable().Length(50); Map(p => p.Suffix).Nullable().Length(3); Map(p => p.SSN).Nullable().Length(11); Map(p => p.BirthDate).Nullable(); Map(p => p.CellPhone).Nullable().Length(12); Map(p => p.HomePhone).Nullable().Length(12); Map(p => p.WorkPhone).Nullable().Length(12); Map(p => p.OtherPhone).Nullable().Length(12); Map(p => p.EmailAddress).Nullable().Length(50); Map(p => p.DriversLicenseNumber).Nullable().Length(50); Component<Address>(p => p.CurrentAddress, m => { m.Map(p => p.Line1, "Line1").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.Line2, "Line2").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.City, "City").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.State, "State").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.Zip, "Zip").Length(2); }); Map(p => p.EyeColor).Nullable().Length(3); Map(p => p.HairColor).Nullable().Length(3); Map(p => p.Gender).Nullable().Length(1); Map(p => p.Height).Nullable(); Map(p => p.Weight).Nullable(); Map(p => p.Race).Nullable().Length(1); Map(p => p.SkinTone).Nullable().Length(3); HasMany(p => p.PriorAddresses).Cascade.All(); } public PreviousAddressMapping() { Table("PriorAddress"); Id(p => p.Id).GeneratedBy.HiLo("1000"); Map(p => p.EndEffectiveDate).Not.Nullable(); Component<Address>(p => p.Address, m => { m.Map(p => p.Line1, "Line1").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.Line2, "Line2").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.City, "City").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.State, "State").Length(50); m.Map(p => p.Zip, "Zip").Length(2); }); } My test is [Test] public void can_correctly_map_Person_with_Addresses() { var myPerson = new Person("Jane", "", "Doe"); var priorAddresses = new[] { new PreviousAddress(ObjectMother.GetAddress1(), DateTime.Parse("05/13/2010")), new PreviousAddress(ObjectMother.GetAddress2(), DateTime.Parse("05/20/2010")) }; new PersistenceSpecification<Person>(Session) .CheckProperty(c => c.FirstName, myPerson.FirstName) .CheckProperty(c => c.LastName, myPerson.LastName) .CheckProperty(c => c.MiddleInitial, myPerson.MiddleInitial) .CheckList(c => c.PriorAddresses, priorAddresses) .VerifyTheMappings(); } GetAddress1() (yeah, horrible name) has Line2 == null The tables seem to be created correctly in sql server 2008, but the test fails with a SQLException "String or binary data would be truncated." When I grab the sql statement in SQL Profiler, I get exec sp_executesql N'INSERT INTO PriorAddress (Line1, Line2, City, State, Zip, EndEffectiveDate, Id) VALUES (@p0, @p1, @p2, @p3, @p4, @p5, @p6)',N'@p0 nvarchar(18),@p1 nvarchar(4000),@p2 nvarchar(10),@p3 nvarchar(2),@p4 nvarchar(5),@p5 datetime,@p6 int',@p0=N'6789 Somewhere Rd.',@p1=NULL,@p2=N'Hot Coffee',@p3=N'MS',@p4=N'09876',@p5='2010-05-13 00:00:00',@p6=1001 Notice the @p1 parameter is being set to nvarchar(4000) and being passed a NULL value. Why is it setting the parameter to nvarchar(4000)? How can I fix it? Thanks!

  • Why won't this SQL CAST work?

    - by Kev
I have a nvarchar(50) column in a SQL Server 2000 table defined as follows: TaskID nvarchar(50) NULL I need to fill this column with some random SQL Unique Identifiers (I am unable to change the column type to uniqueidentifier). I tried this: UPDATE TaskData SET TaskID = CAST(NEWID() AS nvarchar) but I got the following error: Msg 8115, Level 16, State 2, Line 1 Arithmetic overflow error converting expression to data type nvarchar. I also tried: UPDATE TaskData SET TaskID = CAST(NEWID() AS nvarchar(50)) but then got this error: Msg 8152, Level 16, State 6, Line 1 String or binary data would be truncated. I don't understand why this doesn't work but this does: DECLARE @TaskID nvarchar(50) SET @TaskID = CAST(NEW() AS nvarchar(50)) I also tried CONVERT(nvarchar, NEWID()) and CONVERT(nvarchar(50), NEWID()) but got the same errors.

  • SQL query for getting count on same table using left outer join

    - by Sasi
Hi all, I have a table from which i need to get the count grouped on two columns. the table has two columns one datetime column and another one is success value(-1,1,0) What i am looking for is something like this... count of success value for each month month----success-----count 11------- -1 ------- 50 11------- 1 --------- 50 11------- 0 ------- 50 12------- -1 ------- 50 12------- 1 ------- 50 12------- 0 ------- 50 if there is no success value for a month then the count should be null or zero. I have tried with left outer join as well but of no use it gives the count incorrectly. Thanks in advance Sasi

  • Split table and insert with identity link

    - by The King
Hi.. I have 3 tables similar to the sctructure below CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EmpBasic]( [EmpID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL Primary Key, [Name] [varchar](50), [Address] [varchar](50) ) CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EmpProject]( [EmpID] [int] NOT NULL primary key, // referencing column with EmpBasic [EmpProject] [varchar](50) ) CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EmpFull_Temp]( [ObjectID] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL Primary Key, [T1Name] [varchar](50) , [T1Address] [varchar](50) , [T1EmpProject] [varchar](50) ) The EmpFull_Temp table has the records with a dummy object ID column... I want to populate the first 2 tables with the records in this table... But with EmpID as a reference between the first 2 tables. I tried this in a stored procedure... Create Table #IDSS (EmpID bigint, objID bigint) Insert into EmpBasic output Inserted.EmpID, EmpFull_Temp.ObjectID into #IDSS Select T1Name, T1Address from EmpFull_Temp Where ObjectID < 106 Insert into EmpProject Select A.EmpID, B.T1EmpProject from #IDSS as A, EmpFull_Temp as B Where A.ObjID = B.ObjectID But it says.. The multi-part identifier "EmpFull_Temp.ObjectID" could not be bound. Could you please help me in achieving this...

  • SQL Server 2005 stored procedure error

    - by user1670625
I have created a stored procedure of insert command for employee details in SQL Server 2005 in which one of the parameters is an image for which I have used varbinary as the datatype in the table.. But when I am adding that parameter in the stored procedure I am getting the following error- Implicit conversion from data type varchar to varbinary is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query. Stored procedure: ( @Employee_ID nvarchar(10)='', @Password nvarchar(10)='', @Security_Question nvarchar(50)='', @Answer nvarchar(50)='', @First_Name nvarchar(20)='', @Middle_Name nvarchar(20)='', @Last_Name nvarchar(20)='', @Employee_Type nvarchar(15)='', @Department nvarchar(15)='', @Photo varbinary(50)='' ) insert into Registration ( Employee_ID, Password, Security_Question, Answer, First_Name, Middle_Name, Last_Name, Employee_Type, Department, Photo ) values ( @Employee_ID, @Password, @Security_Question, @Answer, @First_Name, @Middle_Name, @Last_Name, @Employee_Type, @Department, @Photo ) Table structure: Column Name Data Type Allow Nulls Employee_ID nvarchar(10) Unchecked Password nvarchar(10) Checked Security_Question nvarchar(50) Checked Answer nvarchar(50) Checked First_Name nvarchar(20) Checked Middle_Name nvarchar(20) Checked Last_Name nvarchar(20) Checked Employee_Type nvarchar(15) Checked Department nvarchar(15) Checked Photo varbinary(50) Checked I am not getting what to do..can anyone give me some suggestion or solution? Thanks in advance.

  • Limit Apache to 1 request per process

    - by Gorilla3D
I have a few long running processes on apache and when the server gets a bit of a load they all seem to couple into 3-4 processes. I've tried setting the MaxRequestsPerChild to 1 and that works, but spawning new processes all the time is expensive. Here is my current configuration: <IfModule prefork.c> StartServers 25 MinSpareServers 50 MaxSpareServers 50 ServerLimit 512 MaxClients 50 MaxRequestsPerChild 10 </IfModule> <IfModule worker.c> StartServers 25 MaxClients 50 MinSpareThreads 50 MaxSpareThreads 125 ThreadsPerChild 50 MaxRequestsPerChild 10 </IfModule>

  • How to update the following rows after the sum of the previous rows reach a threshold? MySQL

    - by Paulo Faria
    I want to update the following rows after the sum of the previous rows reach a defined threshold. I'm using MySQL, and trying to think of a way to solve this using SQL only. Here's an example. Having the threshold 100. Iterating through the rows, when the sum of the previous rows amount = 100, set the following rows to checked. Before the operation: | id | amount | checked | | 1 | 50 | false | | 2 | 50 | false | | 3 | 20 | false | | 4 | 30 | false | After the operation: | id | amount | checked | | 1 | 50 | false | | 2 | 50 | false | <- threshold reached (50 + 50 = 100) | 3 | 20 | true* | | 4 | 30 | true* | Is it possible to do it with just a SQL query? Do I need a stored procedure? How could I implement it using either solution?

  • Why did the following linq to sql query generate a subquery?

    - by Xaisoft
I did the following query: var list = from book in books where book.price > 50 select book; list = list.Take(50); I would expect the above to generate something like: SELECT top 50 id, title, price, author FROM Books WHERE price > 50 but it generates: SELECT [Limit1].[C1] as [C1] [Limit1].[id] as [Id], [Limit1].[title] as [title], [Limit1].[price] as [price], [Limit1].[author] FROM (SELECT TOP (50) [Extent1].[id] as as [Id], [Extent1].[title] as [title], [Extent1].[price] as [price], [Extent1].[author] as [author] FROM Books as [Extent1] WHERE [Extent1].[price] > 50 ) AS [Limit1] Why does the above linq query generate a subquery and where does the C1 come from?

  • Does Google Maps API v3 allow larger zoom values ?

    - by Dr1Ku
If you use the satellite GMapType using this Google-provided example in v3 of the API, the maximum zoom level has a scale of 2m / 10ft , whereas using the v2 version of another Google-provided example (had to use another one since the control-simple doesn't have the scale control) yields the maximum scale of 20m / 50ft. Is this a new "feature" of v3 ? I have to mention that I've tested the examples in the same GLatLng regions - so my guess is that tile detail level doesn't influence it, am I mistaken ? As mentioned in another question, v3 is to be considered of very Labs-y/beta quality, so use in production should be discouraged for the time being. I've been drawn to the subject since I have to "increase the zoom level of a GMap", the answers here seem to suggest using GTileLayer, and I'm considering GMapCreator, although this will involve some effort. What I'm trying to achieve is to have a larger zoom level, a scale of 2m / 10ft would be perfect, I have a map where the tiles aren't that hi-res and quite a few markers. Seeing that the area doesn't have hi-res tiles, the distance between the markers is really tiny, creating some problematic overlapping. Or better yet, how can you create a custom Map which allows higher zoom levels, as by the Google Campus, where the 2m / 10ft scale is achieved, and not use your own tileserver ? I've seen an example on a fellow Stackoverflower's GMaps sandbox , where the tiles are manually created based on the zoom level. I don't think I'm making any more sense, so I'm just going to end this big question here, I've been wondering around trying to find a solution for hours now. Hope that someone comes to my aid though ! Thank you in advance !

  • Time to stop using &ldquo;Execute Package Task&rdquo;&ndash; a way to execute package in SSIS catalog taking advantage of the new project deployment model ,and the logging and reporting feature

    - by Kevin Shyr
I set out to find a way to dynamically call package in SSIS 2012.  The following are 2 excellent blogs I found; I used them heavily.  The code below has some addition to parameter types and message types, but was made essentially derived entirely from the blogs. http://sqlblog.com/blogs/jamie_thomson/archive/2011/07/16/ssis-logging-in-denali.aspx http://www.ssistalk.com/2012/07/24/quick-tip-run-ssis-2012-packages-synchronously-and-other-execution-options/   The code: Every package will be called by a PackageController package.  The packageController is initialized with some information on which package to run and what information to pass in.   The following is the stored procedure called from the “Execute SQL Task”.  Here is the highlight of the stored procedure It takes in packageName, project name, and folder name (folder in SSIS project deployment to SSIS catalog) The stored procedure sets the package variables of the upcoming package execution Execute package in SSIS Catalog Get the status of the execution.  Also, if exists, get the error message’s message_id and store them in the management database. Return value to “Execute SQL Task” to manage failure properly CREATE PROCEDURE [AUDIT].[LaunchPackageExecutionInSSISCatalog]        @PackageName NVARCHAR(255)        , @ProjectFolder NVARCHAR(255)        , @ProjectName NVARCHAR(255)        , @AuditKey INT        , @DisableNotification BIT        , @PackageExecutionLogID INT AS BEGIN TRY        DECLARE @execution_id BIGINT = 0; • SQL Developer Data Modeler v3.3 Early Adopter: Collaborative Design via Excel?

    - by thatjeffsmith
As you may have heard last week, we have a new version of Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler now available as an Early Adopter release. Version 3.3 has quite a few new features and I’ll be previewing them here. Today’s topic is our new Excel integration. It builds off of last week’s lesson: Search, so you may want to go read that first. They say it takes a village to raise a child. I say it takes a team to build a data model. You have your techie folks, your business folks, your in-betweeners, and your database geeks. Who gets to define how customers are represented and stored in your database? That data lives forever, so you better get it right from the beginning, or you’ll be living in a hacker’s paradise for years to come. Lots of good rantings, ravings, and advice on this topic in general on Karen Lopez’s (@datachick) blog. But let’s say you are the primary modeler on a project. You dutifully interview the business folks for their requirements. You sit down and start to model and think you’re pretty close. Now you need someone to confirm your assumptions and provide some feedback. Do you send your model over? Take a screenshot and blow it up on a whiteboard? Export to HTML and let them take a magic marker to their monitors? Or maybe you bite the bullet and install your modeling software on their desktops and take the hours or days required to train them up on how to use the the tool. Wouldn’t it be nice if they could just mark up their corrections in Excel and let you suck the updates back in? This is what we have started to build in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler. Let’s say you have a new table called ‘UT_STARTUPS.’ It looks a little something like this: A table in Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler What I would like to do is have my team or co-worker review how I have defined those columns. Perhaps TIMESTAMP is overkill or maybe the column names themselves aren’t up to snuff. What I am going to do is now search for all the columns in my table, then export that to Excel. So do a search for UT_STARTUPS. Search, filter, then Report With the filter set to ‘Columns,’ if I do a report I’ll be only getting the columns that are resolving to my search term. So as long as my table name is unique in the model, I should get what I’m looking for. Here’s what I see when I click on the Report button: XLS or XLSX, either format is just fine I want to decide how the Column data is exported to Excel though, so I’m going to create a report template that I can use going forward. So click the ‘Manage’ button and setup a new template. I’m going to call mine ‘CollaborativeDevelopment.’ The templates allow me to define what properties are included in the reports. Once this is set, I’ll have the XLS file generated, and get to work Now let the Excel junkies do their stuff Note that not ALL of the report properties are update-able (yes, I made up a new word there) via Excel. We’ll have the full list of properties documented going forward, but in my Excel sheet, note that I can’t change the table name or the data types for the columns. I’m going to update some column names and supply ‘nice’ comments so the database users know what’s what. Here’s my input for the designer/architect/database dude: Be kind, please rew…use comments. Save the file, email it back to your modeler. Update the model from Excel That’s right, it’s a right mouse click from your model in the tree If everything goes right, you’ll see a nice confirmation message: It’s alive! Another to-do item on tap – making this dialog more informative. We’ll be showing exactly what in your model was updated from Excel. Let’s take another look at the model now Voila! Why are we doing this again? The goal is to reduce the number of round-trips from the modeler and the business process owner. One is used to working with Excel – why not allow them to mark up their changes in the tool they already know? This is an early adopter release and I anticipate this feature getting a good bit of tuning up before we release. Why don’t you download 3.3, give it a whirl, and let us know what you think?

I have: domain controller as DNS server forward lookup zone for the domain with host record for 192.168.1.50 and 192.168.1.51 Windows client has primary DNS server set to 192.168.1.50 and secondary to my ISP I can ping 192.168.1.50 (domain controller) successfully but cannot ping 192.168.1.51 (domain-joined VM) When pinging from Windows client: ping 192.168.1.51 Reply from 192.168.1.129 : Destination host unreachable When pinging from Domain Controller: ping 192.168.1.51 Reply from 192.168.1.50 : Destination host unreachable I have 2 virtual network adapters one PRIVATE for intranet (set to static IP 192.168.1.51) and one PUBLIC for internet with a dynamic IP. I noticed the the PUBLIC one inherited the "mydomain.com" domain subtitle after joining the domain... I don't know what this meant but it seemed more intuitive to me to switch THIS ONE to have the static IP. After I configured that I still could not ping but now I get: ping 192.168.1.51 Request timed out What seems to be the issue, I'm relatively new to networking.

  • The Loneliest Road in America and the OTN Garage

    - by rickramsey
Source I never told anyone how the image of the OTN Garage on Facebook came to be. I took the Facebook picture on Route 50 in Nevada, USA, in October of 2010. I was riding from Colorado to Oracle OpenWorld in San Francisco, so it was probably October. Route 50 is known as "The Loneliest Road in America." There are roads across Nevada that have even LESS traffic, but Route 50 still one. desolate. road. Although I have seen stranger things while riding along Nevada's Extraterrestrial Highway, I still run across notable oddities every time I ride Route 50. Like the old man with a bandolero of water bottles jogging along the side of the highway in the middle of the day, 50 miles from the closest town. First ultra-marathoner I'd seen in action. He waved at me. Or the dozen Corvettes with California license plates driving toward me, all doing the speed limit in the middle of nowhere because they were being tailed by half a dozen Nevada state troopers. #fail. I don't remember which town I was in, but I noticed the building when I stopped at the gas station. While standing there pouring fuel into the Harley, the store caught my eye. So I pulled the bike in front and walked inside. The owner is a little old lady, about 100 years old. Most of the goods she had on the shelves looked like they had been placed there during WWII. She was itty bitty and could barely see over the counter, but she was so happy when I bought a bar of Hershey's chocolate that she gave me a five cent discount. I took a few pictures and, when I got back, Kemer Thomson, who sometimes blogs here, photoshopped the OTN Garage and Oil Change signs onto it. The bike is a 2009 Road King Classic with a Bob Dron fairing and a Corbin heated seat. The seat came in handy when I rode home over Tioga Pass. The Road King is a very comfy touring bike with a great Harley rumble. I'm kinda sorry I sold it. When I stopped for fuel about 75 miles down the road at the next town, I peeled back the chocolate bar. I had turned into powder. Probably 50 years ago. - Rick Website Newsletter Facebook Twitter

  • WPA2 authentication fails on Ubuntu 12.04 using Rosewill RNX-N1

    - by user94156
Decided to reduce the clutter in the house and replace a wired connection with a wireless one on my wife's system using USB network device Rosewill RNX-X1. I can see and connect to unprotected network, but WPA2 authentication repeatedly fails. RNX-X1 works on other systems (including TV); also have 2 of 'em and tried each. Worth noting that I recently switched from Comcast to CenturyLink and so switched routers. The system connected successfully to previous router (Linksys EA4500) using WPA2. Would think it is the router (Actiontec C1000A) but all other devices (TV, iPad, Windows, Blackberry, and Squeezebox) connect ok. Would appreciate some diagnostic guidance and insight (phrased for a newbie!) • What's going on with my wireless?

    - by Mark Scott
The WiFi on my Acer laptop (it's a 3810TZ, with Intel Corporation Centrino Wireless-N 1000) works flawlessly on Ubuntu 11.04. On 11.10, it's continually up and down, and it fills the system log with messages such as those below. What is going on? It seems to be unable to decide which regulatory domain it's in. Despite the system configuration being quite clearly set to UK it persists in configuring itself as though it was opeating in Taiwan! • How to do directional per fragment lighting in world space?

    - by user
I am attempting to create a GLSL shader for simple, per-fragment directional light. So far, after following many tutorials, I have continually ran into the issue: my light is specified in world coordinates, however, the shader treats the light's position as being in eye space, thus, the light direction changes when I move the camera. My question is, how to I transform a directional light position such as (50, 50, 50, 0) into eye space, or, would doing things this way be the incorrect approach to the problem?

  • Oracle NoSQL Database Using FusionIO ioDrive2

    - by Charles Lamb
We ran some benchmarks using FusionIO ioDrive2 SSD drives and Oracle NoSQL Database. FusionIO has published a whitepaper with the results of the benchmarks. "Results of testing showed that using an ioDrive2 for data delivered nearly 30 times more operations per second than a 300GB 10k SAS disk on a 90 percent read and 10 percent write workload and nearly eight times more operations per second on a 50 percent read and 50 percent write workload. Equally impressive, an ioDrive2 reduced latency over 700 percent (seven times) on inserts in a 90 percent read and 10 percent write workload and over 5800 percent (58 times) on reads in a 50 percent read and 50 percent write workload."

  • Select different parts of an line

    - by Ricardo Sa
I'm new to regexes and have a file that looks like this one: |60|493,93|1,6500| |60|95,72|1,6500| |60|43,88|1,6500| |60|972,46|1,6500| I used the regex (\|60|.*)(1,65) and I was able to find all the lines that have the information that I wanted to changed. How can I make an replace that when Notepad++ finds (\|60|.*)(1,65), the 60 should be replaced with 50: |50|493,93|1,6500| |50|95,72|1,6500| |50|43,88|1,6500| |50|972,46|1,6500| PS: here's an example of the full line: |C170|002|34067||44,14000|KG|493,93|0|0|020|1102||288,11|12,00|34,57|0|0|0|0|||0|0|0|60|493,93|1,6500|||8,15|60|493,93|7,6000|||37,54||

    - by Zusch
OS: Windows XP SP3 Hardware: Dell Precision M4400 (Laptop) CPU: Core2Duo T9600 Mem: 4 GB Installer- setup, first start and account- setup of UbuntuONE Windows client passed with no problems. After restart of UbuntuONE, the CPU- usage shows 50% (100% core usage). Exit- command (from context-menu) hides the trayicon, but the program is still working excessive in background (50% cpu- / 50 MB memory- usage), until UbuntuOneClient.exe is killed by the taskmanager. What's going on ?
