  • JQuery modal box form validation

    Hi, I was using a view to create an object for my specific project, but now I have to adapt this to another requirements, such as the creation of this object must be integrated in the creation of another one. The thing is, that this object must be created before starting to create the other one, and the way of doing it will be poping up a modal dialog box with JQuery with the form to create it. I've got to adapt the creation and it works fine, except for the validation messages. It is made in the controller like : if (not.NotName.Trim().Length == 0) { ModelState.AddModelError("NotName", "Name is required"); } if (_notification.checkIfExists(not.NotName, not.NotRecID)) { ModelState.AddModelError("NotName", "Notification already exists"); } And before with a normal view it worked fine, but now I'm not able to get the validation messages as I did. How can you get this validation messages thrown by the controller in the Modal Box? Because now when I made a mistake on purpose in the form in order to get the error it doesn't appear. I've seen the error is displayed in the site, because I've seen it on firebug, but it doesn't appear in my model box. How can I retrieve this errors? Do you know any tutorial that could help me with this? Thank you

I know how to create a list of items in xaml, but How do I share objects in two lists?   • Getting a random element in Django

    I just finished the Django tutorial and started work on my own project, however, I seem to have missed something completely. I wanted to get a random slogan from this model: from django.db import models class Slogan(models.Model): slogan = models.CharField(max_length=200) And return it in this view: from django.http import HttpResponse from swarm.sloganrotator.models import Slogan def index(request): return HttpResponse(Slogan.objects.order_by('?')[:1]) However, the view just returns 'Slogan object'. Then I thought, maybe I can access the slogan string itself by simply appending .slogan to the slice, but that gives me an error indicating that the object I have is actually a QuerySet and has no attribute slogan. I've obviously misunderstood something about Django here, but it just doesn't fall into place for me. Any help?

  • Need CSS Help with a hover element - cant extend to left and right of page

    Hi there, Need some CSS guru help. If you visit my link: http://www.gabbr.com/js/viewer/cmedata/index1.html and hover over the years (top middles, 2008, 2009, 2010, etc) you will notice an orange bar extending from the top to the bottom of the page. I am trying to get the same effect on the left (month and day) but am unable to do so. The problem I am having is that I cannot get the orange hover bar to extend off the left of the screen for either #dayleft or for #monthleft. It extends all the way to the right margin of the screen but not the left. The problem is the margin-left: 15px; in #monthleft and margin-left: 80px; in #dayleft. But I cannot get rid of these since I require them for the letter spacing. Any advice?

  • Form.Show() is not showing it's child controls

    I have a form, frmPleaseWait, that has a MarqueeProgressBar and a Label that I want to use when the UI is loading the data in a poorly structured app we have. The problem is that frmPleaseWait.Show() shows the form but not the controls in it. It is just a white rectangle. Now frmPleaseWait.ShowDialog() shows the child controls but doesn't let the UI load it's data. What am I missing? Below is a code snippet from where I am trying this.     What I want to do is add and remove list items. I have got it to add new items to the list and I can remove existing ones but not the ones that have been added.     This is stuff ive done lots of times before but my mind is just blanking at the moment, i will try and give a simple overview of my current situation. I currently have 3 tables as shown below: Office > id, name Person > id, name Office_Personnel > office_id, person_id I then have a model for Person (id, name) and Office, however the Office model contains personnel information: public class Office { int Id {get;set;} string Name {get;set;} ICollection<Person> Personnel {get;set;} } Mapping person is easy, but now im a bit stumped as to why office wont map properly. I chose to use a set when I was mapping the Personnel as there shouldn't be any duplicates, however it doesn't seem to work as I would expect... <set name="Personnel" table="office_personnel" cascade="all"> <key column="office_id" /> <one-to-many class="Person"/> </set> Now one thing that strikes me as odd is that there is no indication as to what person should be binding to (person_id). It keeps trying to find *office_id* column within the Person table. I'm sure this is just some simple problem and im being an idiot, but any help would be great! On a side note, I was weighing up if I should even bother having a middle man table, as I could directly put an Office_Id column within the Person table, but im not 100% sure if in my real project the Person class could be in multiple Offices further down the line...

  • JQuyer slide and stop issues: animated element freezes with quick mouse movement

    Here is Zi JsFiddle. In order to replicate my issue you have to hover over the link that says 'javascript', then mouseout that, then mouseback in. If you do this before the animation is complete, the pink slidedown #subMenu will freeze midway through sliding. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? I have tried some .stop()s , but i really don't want the animation to re-start every time you mouseenter or leave the .navLink . The animation should begin from where it left off. In other words, if the pink section is halfway down, and a slideDown() gets executed, the pink should not dissappear and then slide down, it should slide down from where it is. Thanks!! While trying to add an element in a concrete collection, this collection will use a method to determine if it can accept to store the element (and eventually that this element is not already in the collection).     For example I made check box in A1 with "=$B$1" So now, when I click it the "TRUE", "FALSE" text appears depending if check box is checked or not. The problem starts when I want to duplicate those two to more rows. Now every check box makes the B1 text to change, not the one it represents as in check box A1 should change B1 text, check box in cell A2 should change B2 text and so on, but now all check boxes change the same B1 text. Is there any workaround?

It basically looks like this: actieElement beginDatum 1 1/01/2010 1 1/01/2010 1 10/01/2010 2 1/02/2010 2 3/02/2010 What I now need is the smallest date for every actieElement. I've found a solution using a simple GROUP BY statement, but that way the query loses its scope and you can't change anything anymore. Without the GROUP BY statement I get multiple dates for every actieElement because certain dates are the same. I thought of something like this, but it also does not work as it would give the subquery more then 1 record: SELECT s1.actieElement, s1.begindatum FROM tblActieElementLink AS s1 WHERE (((s1.actieElement)=(SELECT TOP 1 (s2.actieElement) FROM tblActieElementLink s2 WHERE s1.actieElement = s2.actieElement ORDER BY s2.begindatum ASC)));

  • How do I access a <form> that is not the master page <form>?

    Winforms developer converting to web developer. I know the part about the Master Page having the tag, what is not clear is if I can or can not have another in one of my content pages. I have been seeing both answers doing searches. I see yes you can if only one has runat=server. The thing is I have a that contains several radio buttons on a web page that has a master page. I have a .js file that has a function if I send the name into it, it will loop thru the controls in the form to see which one is selected and return the desired date horizon(MTD, QTD, YTD, etc.). When I run this on a non master page web page it works fine. However, when I run on a web page that has a master page I can't seem to get to the element. I tried getElementByID, I tried looping through the page elements, etc. Maybe I am going about this incorrectly and I hope someone can straighten me out. Here is the code from my .js file that may help explain what I am trying to do a little better. var frmDateRanges = document.getElementById(formFieldName); var chosen; var len = frmDateRanges.DateRanges.length; for(i=0;i<len;i++) { if(frmDateRanges.DateRanges[i].checked) { chosen = frmDateRanges.DateRanges[i].value; } } where formFieldName is an arguement that is passed into the function and DateRanges is the name value given to the radio buttons. In the button I call this function I have: onclick ="FunctionCall('frmDateRanges')" FunctionCall is just for description purposes, 'frmDateRanges' is the name and id given to the form action="" Thanks for the help as I am stumped at this point. If there is a better way to do this please let me know that as well.
