    I've a nice situation, I think at beginning this a usual query but I'm having some problem trying to solve this, the situation is: I've a list of "Houses", and each house have a list of "Windows". And I want to filter for a catalog only the Houses witch have a Blue windows, so my extension method of House is something like: public static List<House> FilterByWindow (this IEnumerable<House> houses, Window blueOne){ houses.Select(p=>p.Windows.Where(q=>q.Color == blueOne.Color)); return houses.ToList(); } Is this correct or I'm losing something? Some better suggestion?

  • I'm tired of JButtons, how can I make a nicer GUI in java ?

    So far I've only build "small" graphical applications, using swing and JComponents as I learned at school. Yet I can't bear ugly JButtons anymore. I've tried to play with the different JButton methods, like changing colors, putting icons etc. but I'm still not satisfied. How do you make a nicer GUI in java ? I'm looking for not-too-heavy alternatives (like, without big frameworks or too complicated libraries).

  • Condensing multiple else if statements, referencing them from a table?

    Hi I'm about to type some 500 else if statements into my code (PHP) which have the exact same coding each: if (color=White); rgb = 255-255-255; print rgb; else if (color=Black); rgb = 0-0-0; print rgb; else if (color=Red); rgb = 255-0-0; print rgb; else if (color=Blue); rgb = 0-0-255; print rgb; [the list keeps going] I also (luckily) have a table that displays the color in the first column and rgb value in the next column for 500 of them... how do I use this to save time typing all those else if statements? Some how I have to reference the table file (made in excel, I'm guessing I'll have to save it as .csv?)

In this login i call the loogout() client side from hyperlink: Sys.Services.AuthenticationService.logout(null,onLogoutCompleted,null,null); return false; My Webservice make : [WebMethod] public void Logout() { FormsAuthentication.SignOut(); } logout work but my page make one big postback. Some way to make NO postback at logout? Thanks

    I was hoping it was as easy as referencing my existing libraries to use them with WP7. However, it complains about not able to load them because of .Net CF when I actually use them. Do i need to recompile them to .NET CF or something? I thought the big plus of WP7 was: leveraging your existing codebase...? How can I leverage my existing codebase if I need to strip everything out of it and maintain multiple versions?

  • Efective way to avoid integer overflow when multiplying?

    Hi, I'm working on a hash function which gets a string as input. Right now I'm doing a loop and inside the hash (an int variable) is being multiplied by a value and then the ASCII code for the current character is added to the mix. hash = hash * seed + string[i] But sometimes, if the string is big enough there is an integer overflow there, what can I do to avoid it while maintaining the same hash structure? Maybe a bit operation included inside the loop?

  • WPF windows locked when calling webservice. Even when run asynchronously

    Hi there. I'm having a big problem when calling a web service from my WPF application. The application/window locks until the process has completed. I've attempted to run this asynchronously but the problem still persists. Currently, the web service call I'm making can last 45-60 seconds. It runs a process on the server to fetch a big chunk of data. As it take a little while I wanted to have a progress bar moving indeterminately for the user to see that the application hasn't stalled or anything (you know how impatatient they get).   • ASP.Net MVC null reference exception with TextArea name

    Hello, I have a TextArea html helper method I'm calling in a foreach loop. Basically, when I initially load the View it works fine, but when i reload the View and load postback data, the same TextArea throws a NullReferencException and yet the variable I'm using in the TextArea as the name of the TextArea is not null. I've attached a picture below for demonstration: Sorry if it's difficult to see, the blue arrow below is pointing to the variable used to name the TextArea. Again, it works on initial load, but it errors out on postback when the page is reloaded. I'm not sure what's going on.

I would like to know if there is a way to get the preview used by windows explorer. For example windows explorer creates a small thumbnail for a pdf document for example, and displays it when the user chooses to view "big icons". Is there a way to retrieve that preview?     I have an identical horizontal menu at the top of all of my pages, which I add using a PHP include() statement. In my stylesheet I want to have a class where if the user is on a particular page, the menu item corresponding to that page will have a different color. So, more or less: #dropdown { background-color:blue; } #dropdown .active { background-color:green; } But, since the menu comes from the PHP include, it's always the same. How can I write some PHP or JavaScript that adds class="active" to the appropriate menu item for each page?

    I am having some troubles using the CGContext with an iPhone app. I am trying to draw several lines with different colors, but all the lines always end up having to color, which was used last.
