  • How to make non-blurry image in WPF 3d

    I used Viewport3D and ModelVisual3D to create a simple rectangle with an image (I tried it with JPG, PNG), but it shows the image blurry, but the original image is very sharp and clear. I don't know how to make it with the original quality in 3D... I also tried some 2D solutions like RenderOptions.BitmapScalingMode and SnapsToDevicePixels but they do not seem to not work in the 3D case. Has anyone encountered this problem or know the solution?

  • WPF Blurry Images - Bitmap Class

    I am using the following sample at http://blogs.msdn.com/dwayneneed/archive/2007/10/05/blurry-bitmaps.aspx within VB.NET. The code is shown below. I am having a problem when my application loads the CPU is pegging 50-70%. I have determined that the problem is with the Bitmap class. The OnLayoutUpdated() method is calling the InvalidateVisual() continously. This is because some points are not returning as equal but rather, Point(0.0,-0.5) Can anyone see any bugs within this code or know a better implmentation for pixel snapping a Bitmap image so it is not blurry? p.s. The sample code was in C#, however I believe that it was converted correctly.   • Blurry UILabel as programmatic subview of UITableViewCell contentView

    I am adding a UILabel instance as a subview of my custom UITableViewCell instance's contentView. When I select the cell, the row is highlighted blue, except for the background of the label. The label text is sharp. When I set the label and content view backgroundColor property to [UIColor clearColor], the label text becomes blurry. How do I set the label background color to be clear, to allow the row highlight to come through, while still keeping the label text sharp? One suggestion I read elsewhere was to round the label's frame values, but this did not have any effect. RenderOptions.BitmapScalingMode="NearestNeighbor" On all levels, grid, chrome .. and tried various combinations of SnapsToDevicePixels but images just wont show up correctly. I set Stretch=None, image is aligned at center, still why it stretches automatically? here is the output and its very frustrating. Actual size of the image is 16x16 but I some how figured out by using Windows Maginifier that no matter what I do, the image is actually trying to render as 20x20, for the bigger images its even cropping the right most and bottom part. I think image should be rendered correctly 16x16 when Stretch=None, can anyone clarify whats problem here?

    I'm using OpenGL through LWJGL. I have a 16x16 textured quad rendering at 16x16. When I change it's scale amount, the quad grows, then becomes blurrier as it gets larger. How can I make it scale without becoming blurry, like in Minecraft.   • How can I resize pixel art in Pyglet without making it blurry?

    I have a tileset of 8x8 pixel images, and I want to resize them in my game so they'd be double that (16x16 pixels, e.g. turning each pixel into a 2x2 block.) What I'm trying to achieve is a Minecraft-like effect, where you have small pixel images scale to larger blockier pixels. In Pyglet, the sprite's scale property blurs the pixels. Is there some other way? Update: So I changed my code, but I'm still having the same issue (nothing changed.)     I know this is a very subjective question but as text rendering in WPF is still an issue I have to make the best out of it. In WPF Application text tend to become blurry that is no secret. Also there are countless website about this topic and how you get around this problem. But I wonder ... text blurriness seems to affect some fonts more that others. So I am still looking for the best font available to get around this issue. So far I am still using Arial and it doesn't look good. But I am sure some other font are more suitable for the task at hand.

  • Different behavior when launched from terminal instead of Unity launcher

    I have written two Perl/Gtk programs. When launched from the dash menu, they run just fine. However, if I try to launch them from terminal using the very same command found in their .desktop files, their Unity launcher will be blurry and will remain inactive when clicked, if I keep it in the Unity bar. The problem is solved if the Exec part of the desktop file is replaced with perl path_to_script However, that leads to other problems, including a lintian warning and forcing all Perl GUI applications running from terminal to adopt the same launcher. This issue is quite annoying since one of the programs relies on a different (Python) program in order to be launched and this results in having a blurry and inactive launcher.

  • Sharp flat panel scaling with Nvidia drivers

    I have a Samsung 226BW flat panel with a 1680x1050 native resolution. As my PC is rather dated (Athlon XP 2600+ and GeForce 6600 GT), I need to run more recent games (but still old) on a lower resolution. Unfortunately, scaling low resolutions to 1680x1050 results in a very blurry image (bilinear scaling). I have created a custom resolution of 840x525 in the Nvidia control panel. Technically, this resolutions allows perfect upscaling to 1680x1050 without the need for bilinear interpolation. Unfortunately, the Nvidia driver always seems to do bilinear scaling, again resulting in a blurry image. However, I seem to remember that I did obtain crisp images using this resolution in the past (before a Windows re-install). Maybe only some driver versions support integer upscaling without bilinear filtering? Or perhaps there are other solutions?

    I got 3 refurbished PC+TFT 19". All TFT shows a very blurry image. I estimate the TFT's are 2-3 yrs old. The PC's running Windows7 Pro. The resolution is set to the TFT native values. It could be possible that all TFT's are broken but I have similiar models that are up to 5 yrs old, without any issue. I still think it could be a config issue but from the hardware it is possible that a TFT get broken I shows up a very blurry image. Update TFT HP 2035, grafic Intel Q35/GMA 3100, analog D-SUB connector, Manuf. date Sep 2005. Config. resolution 1600x1200, PPP 150% Without ClearType it is worst. Desktop Icon titles seems to be good and clear. But in Notepad for example the effect is that on the right of the characters is a pinky shadow.

  • Lenovo Y460 Intel Driver Secondary Display Flickering

    This is a part of the massive dump of problems I'm encountering with my Lenovo Y460 and Ubuntu. Problem: ATI PowerXpress doesn't really work. Doesn't work as I have to use the open source driver with hacks. Turned off ATI card at boot Details on how I accomplished that: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10955831#post10955831 Installing the ATI drivers results in a failure of the intel drivers to work with Ubuntu Class (all animations have to turned off). Anyway to fix this problem to allow switchable graphics to work? The problem above has been fixed by FGLRX (Catalyst 11.6) is it compatible with kernel 2.6.39? However, there's another issue. If I connect my secondary monitor (VGA 17'') while using the Intel driver, I would not be able to use that screen as there's flickering and tearing, making the screen blurry and usable.   • Why do my 512x512 bitmaps look jaggy on Android OpenGL?

    This is sort of driving me nuts, I've googled and googled and tried everything I can think of, but my sprites still look super blurry and super jaggy. The test device is a Galaxy Note, running a JellyBean custom ROM, if that matters at all. So the screen resolution is 1280x800, which means...     I noticed some (slightly disturbing) differences between the HTML5 and the Java versions of the playN showcase (source). (I just downloaded everything yesterday, so presumably I'm running the latest samples.) Specifically, two flaws I noticed in the HTML5 version: The text on the buttons is quite blurry (not anti-aliased, but actually blurry) compared to the Java version The background in the "Swirl" sample is restricted to one corner of the app; it doesn't cover the entire visible space the way it does in the Java version. Are these bugs, or the expected behaviour?

    I'm trying to make an android game using sprites, (or very pixelated characters, backgrounds etc.). I draw them on the canvas like so... matrix.preScale(xrat,yrat); canvas.drawBitmap(img, matrix, null); Where img is the Bitmap and the xrat and yrat are the scales. My problem is that when I test, the Bitmap is blurry or anti-aliased, is there a way to prevent this? The rigid-blocky art style of the game will be ruined if the blocks are blurry. Any (ANY) help appreciated!
