  • Ubuntu 12.04 takes too long to boot

    - by msPeachy
I've recently encountered the following error message: mount: mounting /dev/disk/by-uuid/3f7f5cd9d-6ea3-4da7-b5ec-**** on /root failed: Invalid argument mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /dev on /root/dev failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /sys on /root/sys failed: No such file or directory mount: mounting /proc on /root/proc failed: No such file or directory Target file system doesn't have /sbin/init. No init found. Try passing init= bootarg. Busybox v1.18.5 (Ubuntu 1:1.18.5-1ubuntu4) built-in shell (ash) Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands. (initramfs) _ I run sudo fsck /dev/sda2 which is the Ubuntu ext4 root partition via LiveCD. It checked and fixed the file system. The next time I boot, Ubuntu started to load with the Ubuntu logo and the dots underneath for several hours (with the mouse pointer active on the screen), I even let the computer on overnight but still it did not successfully boot or got to the login screen in the morning. I booted again with the LiveCD and checked the NTFS partitions with ntfsfix and again the NTFS partitions was checked and fixed successfully. I also edited my fstab and commented out the lines that auto-mounts the NTFS partitions. The next time I boot, it took almost 20 minutes for Ubuntu to get to the login screen, after typing the password it took an additional 10 minutes for Ubuntu to get to the desktop. On the desktop, it take several minutes to open any program, displaying the Dash alone takes 5 minutes! Is there a fix for this without having to reinstall Ubuntu? I don't see or get any errors, Ubuntu is just taking too long to boot and to run programs. Please help!

  • How can I disable the purple bootloader splash at boot?

    - by wim
This question has been answered before, but neither of the methods in the accepted answer worked for me on 11.10. First I tried editing in /etc/default/grub, and then running sudo update-grub. But after that I still got a blank, plain, purple screen while the kernel is loading. The screen has no boot options, and it obscures those dmesg that I want to see going in the terminal. Next I tried removing the plymouth-theme-*, but that just broke my gnome-shell theme looks, and the purple screen still remains. I have also tried configuring it with startupmanager package, but nothing seems to get rid of that darned purple splash. here are the contents of my /etc/default/grub file: # If you change this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update # /boot/grub/grub.cfg. # For full documentation of the options in this file, see: # info -f grub -n 'Simple configuration' GRUB_DEFAULT="0" GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT="0" GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET="true" GRUB_TIMEOUT="0" GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR="`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian`" #GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" # Uncomment to enable BadRAM filtering, modify to suit your needs # This works with Linux (no patch required) and with any kernel that obtains # the memory map information from GRUB (GNU Mach, kernel of FreeBSD ...) #GRUB_BADRAM="0x01234567,0xfefefefe,0x89abcdef,0xefefefef" # Uncomment to disable graphical terminal (grub-pc only) # GRUB_TERMINAL="console" # The resolution used on graphical terminal # note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE # you can see them in real GRUB with the command `vbeinfo' #GRUB_GFXMODE="640x480" # Uncomment if you don't want GRUB to pass "root=UUID=xxx" parameter to Linux #GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID="true" # Uncomment to disable generation of recovery mode menu entries #GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY="true" # Uncomment to get a beep at grub start #GRUB_INIT_TUNE="480 440 1" GRUB_DISABLE_OS_PROBER="true"

  • What could be causing LVM errors on first boot after install in Debian?

    - by ianfuture
Hi, I've installed Debian (lenny) on a machine at home. It was set up during install to have a /boot partition, then the rest was encrypted, then had an LVM ontop of that, then all the other partitons inside LVM. After install completed and on first boot it asked for password to un-encrypt(same password for both drives) then it showed an error which said LVM could not find a physical device with a particular UUID or something similar. LVM install is over two HDs. One is 120GB and one 40GB. 120GB is Master on its IDE cable and this has /boot on it. 40GB is slave on the other IDE cable. Is there anything that could be done to rescue this install? Or diagnose problem? It took ages to get installed due to time spent enrypting drives and I'd rather not go through that again. :( Thanks.. Ian

  • How do I add a boot from cd option to yaboot?

    - by Sergiu
So I'm dual-booting Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my iMac G5 powepc alongside Mac OS X and I want to add a boot cd option to yaboot because I'm trying to boot a scratched Mac OS X installation DVD that takes a while to read and the frst bootstrap moves on too fast. How do I edit the timeout for the first bootstrap anyways? So, my main question is, how do I add a cd booting option to yaboot and then, how doI boot it? The devalias from OpenFrmware tells me that 1 have 2 cd-rom instaled, on is /ht/pci@3/ata-6/disk@0 and the other on ends with a 1 instead of a zero. These are the contents of my yaboot.conf file: yaboot.conf generated by the Ubuntu installer run: "man yaboot.conf" for details. Do not make changes until you have!! see also: /usr/share/doc/yaboot/examples for example configurations. For a dual-boot menu, add one or more of: bsd=/dev/hdaX, macos=/dev/hdaY, macosx=/dev/hdaZ boot="/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_ST3160023AS_5MT1GCWA-part2" device=/ht@0,f2000000/pci@3/k2-sata-root@c/@0/@0 partition=4 root="UUID=798a048f-ee48-49e0-bba3-111aed8dee04" timeout=12000 install=/usr/lib/yaboot/yaboot magicboot=/usr/lib/yaboot/ofboot enablecdboot macosx="/dev/disk/by-id/scsi-SATA_ST3160023AS_5MT1GCWA-part3" image=/boot/vmlinux label=Linux read-only initrd=/boot/initrd.img append="quiet splash" What do I add here so that yaboot will boot from my cd in like 3 minutes after startup? Thanks!

  • Debian doesn't boot after removing secondary hard drive

    - by Daveel
In the beginning I had Debian 6 running on one hard drive (/dev/sda1). Then I decided to keep all my stuff(pics, videos, etc..) in another slave hard drive (/dev/sdb1). So sda1 has Debian OS sdb1 doesn't contain any OS files I have made it to mount automatically by adding a row in /etc/fstab (UUID and directory to mount to) Time have passed and when I tried to change that secondary hard drive with another hard drive with bigger capacity, for some reason Debian won't boot (just itself sda1) after removing secondary hard drive (sdb1) But if I plug sdb1 back, it boots just fine. I tried to comment line out from /etc/fstab, so it doesn't mount And also did update-grub after umount /dev/sdb1 What's the right way to remove hard drive secondary hard drive?

  • Is it normal for GRUB to take some time (15+s) after I choose what to boot?

    - by zarnaik
I had been planning to change the background of my bootloader for a while, and finally got to it. Now the black screen I get for quite some time was made clear. It is still GRUB, because the background image stays, while all of the text is gone. Then it just simply shows the Lubuntu loading screen for, usually, not more than 3 seconds. I run Lubuntu 12.10. My question is, is this normal behaviour or is something going wrong, causing GRUB to take longer? Here are the contents of my grub file located at /etc/default/ : # If you change this file, run 'update-grub' afterwards to update # /boot/grub/grub.cfg. # For full documentation of the options in this file, see: # info -f grub -n 'Simple configuration' GRUB_DEFAULT=0 #GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT=0 GRUB_HIDDEN_TIMEOUT_QUIET=true GRUB_TIMEOUT=5 GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`lsb_release -i -s 2> /dev/null || echo Debian` GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash" GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="" GRUB_BACKGROUND="/usr/share/lubuntu/wallpapers/1210-Windmill_by_Ferran_Reyes.png" # Uncomment to enable BadRAM filtering, modify to suit your needs # This works with Linux (no patch required) and with any kernel that obtains # the memory map information from GRUB (GNU Mach, kernel of FreeBSD ...) #GRUB_BADRAM="0x01234567,0xfefefefe,0x89abcdef,0xefefefef" # Uncomment to disable graphical terminal (grub-pc only) #GRUB_TERMINAL=console # The resolution used on graphical terminal # note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE # you can see them in real GRUB with the command `vbeinfo' #GRUB_GFXMODE=640x480 # Uncomment if you don't want GRUB to pass "root=UUID=xxx" parameter to Linux #GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_UUID=true # Uncomment to disable generation of recovery mode menu entries #GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY="true" # Uncomment to get a beep at grub start #GRUB_INIT_TUNE="480 440 1" If you need any other information please tell me and I'll do my best to provide it. :)

  • Growing your VirtualBox Virtual Disk

    - by Fat Bloke
Don't you just hate it when this happens: Fortunately, if you're running inside VirtualBox, you can resize your virtual disk and magically make your guest have a bigger disk very easily. There are 2 steps to doing this... 1. Resize the virtual disk Use the VBoxManage command line tool to extend the size of the Virtual Disk, specifying the path to the disk and the size in MB: VBoxManage modifyhd <uuid>|<filename> [--type normal|writethrough|immutable|shareable| readonly|multiattach] [--autoreset on|off] [--compact] [--resize <megabytes>|--resizebyte <bytes>]   If you booted up your guest at this point, the extra space is seen as an unformatted area on the disk, like this: So we now need to tell the guest about the extra space available. 2. Extend the guest's partition to use the extra space How you do this step depends on you guest OS type and the tools you have available. Linux guests often include the excellent gparted partition editor, whereas Windows 7 and 8 provide the Computer Management tool which can resize partitions. Unfortunately, my Windows XP vm has no such tool. But I do have a couple of other options: Most Linux installable .isos include the aforementioned gparted tool, so I could simply attach, say, an Ubuntu.iso as a Virtual CD/DVD in my Windows XP vm and boot off that. Then use gparted to extend the Windows XP partition, before finally rebooting. But I took another route and attached my resized virtual disk to a Windows Server 2012 vm I had lying around. Then I used the Computer Management tool in Windows Server 2012 to extend the partition of the Windows XP disk, before shutting down, unplugging the disk and reattaching to my Windows XP vm. (Note that if your vm's use different disk controllers, Windows will check the disks on booting). When I finally boot up my Windows XP guest I see the available disk space and all is well. At least until the next time - FB

  • iPhone SDK 3.0 and symbolicatecrash not getting along?

    - by Steve
    * UPDATE * I've reinstalled with Snow Leopard, clean install. Completely wiped my existing Leopard install. Same problem persists. I've tried numbers of versions of symbolicatecrash to resolve symbols in my crash reports. From the version provided by Apple, to Alan's Quatermain's version posted on GitHub and finally from http://openradar.appspot.com/6438643. For whatever reason, the best results I can get is for symbols on my own libraries to get resolved. Normally, this is enough data to point me in the right direction -- other times it is not. With 2.x I had no problems getting the symbols for my code + Apple provided libraries from within the stack traces in each thread. Most likely an issue with my environment here, I'm not at all doubting the work that Apple or Alan have done. Yes I'm certain the dSYM I have stashed away is the same exact one that's generating the crash report. Although 'Foo' is me, and getting symbols from it is wonderful, I need to see symbols from the other functions in the stack to truly understand my reports. Note: For devices that crash running the app on iPhone OS 2.2.1, I have no problem getting all symbols. This is an iPhone OS 3.0 issue it appears. Also, while running symbolicatecrash in verbose mode here's a few of the things that struck me as wrong: - NO MATCH NOT searching in Spotlight for dsym with UUID of /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/CoreFoundation ## Warning: Can't find any unstripped binary that matches version of /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreFoundation.framework/CoreFoundation ..........fetching symbol file for libobjc.A.dylib--[undef] Searching [/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0 (5A345)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0 (5A347)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0.1 (5B108)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0.2 (5C1)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1.1/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.2.1/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.2/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib /Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/3.0 (7A341)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib]...--[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0 (5A345)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0 (5A347)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0.1 (5B108)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.0.2 (5C1)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1.1/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.1/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.2.1/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/2.2/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH --[/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/3.0 (7A341)/Symbols/usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib] -- NO MATCH NOT searching in Spotlight for dsym with UUID of /usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib ## Warning: Can't find any unstripped binary that matches version of /usr/lib/libobjc.A.dylib Here's an example of the crash report after running it through symbolicatecrash: Thread 0 Crashed: 0 libSystem.B.dylib 0x31dc476c 0x31d46000 + 517996 1 libSystem.B.dylib 0x31dc4755 0x31d46000 + 517973 2 Foo 0x00053075 uncaught_exception_handler + 21 3 CoreFoundation 0x3028f65f 0x301fd000 + 599647 4 libobjc.A.dylib 0x30013693 0x3000c000 + 30355 5 libstdc++.6.dylib 0x374ccc2d 0x3748a000 + 273453 6 libstdc++.6.dylib 0x374ccc81 0x3748a000 + 273537 7 libstdc++.6.dylib 0x374ccd4d 0x3748a000 + 273741 8 libobjc.A.dylib 0x300135ff 0x3000c000 + 30207 9 CoreFoundation 0x30222f2d 0x301fd000 + 155437 10 CoreFoundation 0x30222ecb 0x301fd000 + 155339 11 Foundation 0x30521e33 0x30501000 + 134707 12 Foundation 0x30570d47 0x30501000 + 458055 13 Foo 0x0000a1db -[Bar barfoo] (Bar.m:1617) 14 Foo 0x00032f73 -[MyViewController foobar] (MyViewController.m:727) 15 Foo 0x000329b9 -[MyViewController foobar] (MyViewController.m:666) 16 Foo 0x00031fab -[MyViewController tabBar:tabSelected:] (MyViewController.m:440) 17 Foo 0x00068d41 -[TTTabBar setSelectedTabIndex:] (TTTabBar.m:160) 18 Foo 0x00068ca3 -[TTTabBar setSelectedTabView:] (TTTabBar.m:142) 19 Foo 0x000689cf -[TTTabBar tabTouchedUp:] (TTTabBar.m:83) 20 CoreFoundation 0x302552f9 0x301fd000 + 361209 21 UIKit 0x3094d101 0x308ed000 + 393473 22 UIKit 0x3094d0a1 0x308ed000 + 393377 23 UIKit 0x3094d073 0x308ed000 + 393331 24 UIKit 0x3094cdcd 0x308ed000 + 392653 25 UIKit 0x309779c1 0x308ed000 + 567745 26 UIKit 0x30977011 0x308ed000 + 565265 27 UIKit 0x309767d9 0x308ed000 + 563161 28 UIKit 0x30923613 0x308ed000 + 222739 29 UIKit 0x30923163 0x308ed000 + 221539 30 GraphicsServices 0x32045a4d 0x32041000 + 19021 31 CoreFoundation 0x30253041 0x301fd000 + 352321 32 CoreFoundation 0x30252771 0x301fd000 + 350065 33 GraphicsServices 0x32044b0f 0x32041000 + 15119 34 GraphicsServices 0x32044bbb 0x32041000 + 15291 35 UIKit 0x308f0363 0x308ed000 + 13155 36 UIKit 0x308ef121 0x308ed000 + 8481 37 Foo 0x00002097 main (main.m:13)

  • Android: How to obtain Mac Address of WiFi Network Interface?

    - by Gubatron
It seems the java.net.NetworkInterface implementation of android does not have a byte[] getHardwareAddress() method http://developer.android.com/reference/java/net/NetworkInterface.html I've found several forums of people trying to do this with no definitive answer, I need to get a somewhat cross-device UUID, so I can't rely on phone numbers or in ANDROID_ID (which can be overwritten and which I think depends on the user having a google account) http://developer.android.com/reference/android/provider/Settings.Secure.html#ANDROID_ID In linux you can use ifconfig or read from /proc/net/arp and you can easily get the Hardware address. Is there a file in android that I can read? There has to be a way to get this address since it's shown in the "Settings About Phone Status" of the phone.

  • Linking with Boost error

    - by drhorrible
    I just downloaded and ran the boost installer for version 1.42 (from boostpro.com), and set up my project according to the getting started guide. However, when I build the program, I get this linker error: LINK : fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'libboost_program_options-vc90-mt-gd-1_42.lib' The build log adds this (I've replaced project-specific paths with *'s): Creating temporary file "******\Debug\RSP00001252363252.rsp" with contents [ /OUT:"*********.exe" /INCREMENTAL /LIBPATH:"C:\Program Files\boost\boost_1_42_0\lib" /MANIFEST /MANIFESTFILE:"Debug\hw6.exe.intermediate.manifest" /MANIFESTUAC:"level='asInvoker' uiAccess='false'" /DEBUG /PDB:"********\Debug\***.pdb" /SUBSYSTEM:CONSOLE /DYNAMICBASE /NXCOMPAT /MACHINE:X86 kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winspool.lib comdlg32.lib advapi32.lib shell32.lib ole32.lib oleaut32.lib uuid.lib odbc32.lib odbccp32.lib ".\Debug\****.obj" ".\Debug\****.exe.embed.manifest.res" ] Creating command line "link.exe @********\Debug\RSP00001252363252.rsp /NOLOGO /ERRORREPORT:PROMPT" I've also emailed [email protected] (with a message very similar to this), but I thought maybe so would be faster.

  • ::LookupAccountSid API Extremely Slow When Targeting x64 Platform (Windows 7)

    - by Chris
During our application startup, we are making a call to ::LookupAccountSid(). When I build targeting the x86 architecture, this call is nearly instantaneous. However, when I target x64 (debug or release), the call generally takes over 40s to complete. Since this is occurring during application startup, the result is fairly unpleasant as it will appear to the user that the application is not launching. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit on a Dell Studio XPS 16 (Intel Core i7 Q 720). Our application is a native Windows application written in C++. My compiler options (CCOPTS) and linker options (LINKOPTS) are as follows: CCOPTS = "/nologo /Gz /W3 /EHs /c /DWIN32 /D_MBCS /Ob1 /vmg /vmv /Zi /MD /DNDEBUG /DDV_BUILD_DLL /DIV_BUILD_DLL /DDVASSERT_EXCEPTION /Zc:wchar_t-" LINKOPTS = "/manifest:no /nologo /machine:X64 kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winspool.lib comdlg32.lib advapi32.lib shell32.lib ole32.lib oleaut32.lib uuid.lib odbc32.lib odbccp32.lib /DEBUG /subsystem:windows /DLL" Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

  • Printing fails after first print with Centos 6 and HP LaserJet P3015dn printer

    - by Gavin Simpson
Centos 6 recognises and configures a HP LaserJet P3015dn printer connected via USB. This machine is being configured as a small group file/print server. I can print a test page, which is processed/printed correctly. The next time printing is attempted (say printing a second test page), the page is not printed and the printer is set to disabled. The status of the printer is stated as: Stopped - /usr/lib/cups/backend/hp failed in the printer configuration dialogue. /var/log/cups/error_log contains this information (first two lines were there prior to the failed print job) E [24/Jun/2004:09:12:57 +0100] Returning HTTP Forbidden for Resume-Printer (ipp://localhost/printers/HP-LaserJet-P3010-Series) from localhost E [24/Jun/2004:09:20:59 +0100] Returning HTTP Forbidden for CUPS-Delete-Printer (ipp://localhost/printers/HP-LaserJet-P3010-Series) from localhost D [24/Jun/2004:09:37:28 +0100] [Job 28] The following messages were recorded from 09:36:43 AM to 09:37:28 AM D [24/Jun/2004:09:37:28 +0100] [Job 28] Adding start banner page "none". • How can I get FreeNAS to respond to libvirt shutdown requests

    - by ptomli
    I have a KVM VM of FreeNAS 0.7.1 Shere (revision 5127) running on Ubuntu Server 10.04 and I'm unable to convince the VM to shutdown from the host virsh shutdown freenas I would expect this to send some ACPI? trigger to the VM and FreeNAS then do what it's told. I'm not a FreeBSD fundi so I don't really know what packages or processes to poke to get this running. I have tried to convince powerd to run, but the VM cpus don't have the required freq entry Sysctl HW $ sysctl hw hw.machine: amd64 hw.model: QEMU Virtual CPU version 0.12.3 hw.ncpu: 1 hw.byteorder: 1234 hw.physmem: 523116544 hw.usermem: 463806464 hw.pagesize: 4096 hw.floatingpoint: 1 hw.machine_arch: amd64 hw.realmem: 536850432 hw.aac.iosize_max: 65536 hw.amr.force_sg32: 0 hw.an.an_cache_iponly: 1 hw.an.an_cache_mcastonly: 0 hw.an.an_cache_mode: dbm hw.an.an_dump: off hw.ata.to: 15 hw.ata.wc: 1 hw.ata.atapi_dma: 1 hw.ata.ata_dma_check_80pin: 1 hw.ata.ata_dma: 1 hw.ath.txbuf: 200 hw.ath.rxbuf: 40 hw.ath.regdomain: 0 hw.ath.countrycode: 0 hw.ath.xchanmode: 1 hw.ath.outdoor: 1 hw.ath.calibrate: 30 hw.ath.hal.swba_backoff: 0 hw.ath.hal.sw_brt: 10 hw.ath.hal.dma_brt: 2 hw.bce.msi_enable: 1 hw.bce.tso_enable: 1 hw.bge.allow_asf: 0 hw.cardbus.cis_debug: 0 hw.cardbus.debug: 0 hw.cs.recv_delay: 570 hw.cs.ignore_checksum_failure: 0 hw.cs.debug: 0 hw.cxgb.snd_queue_len: 50 hw.cxgb.use_16k_clusters: 1 hw.cxgb.force_fw_update: 0 hw.cxgb.singleq: 0 hw.cxgb.ofld_disable: 0 hw.cxgb.msi_allowed: 2 hw.cxgb.txq_mr_size: 1024 hw.cxgb.sleep_ticks: 1 hw.cxgb.tx_coalesce: 0 hw.firewire.hold_count: 3 hw.firewire.try_bmr: 1 hw.firewire.fwmem.speed: 2 hw.firewire.fwmem.eui64_lo: 0 hw.firewire.fwmem.eui64_hi: 0 hw.firewire.phydma_enable: 1 hw.firewire.nocyclemaster: 0 hw.firewire.fwe.rx_queue_len: 128 hw.firewire.fwe.tx_speed: 2 hw.firewire.fwe.stream_ch: 1 hw.firewire.fwip.rx_queue_len: 128 hw.firewire.sbp.tags: 0 hw.firewire.sbp.use_doorbell: 0 hw.firewire.sbp.scan_delay: 500 hw.firewire.sbp.login_delay: 1000 hw.firewire.sbp.exclusive_login: 1 hw.firewire.sbp.max_speed: -1 hw.firewire.sbp.auto_login: 1 hw.mfi.max_cmds: 128 hw.mfi.event_class: 0 hw.mfi.event_locale: 65535 hw.pccard.cis_debug: 0 hw.pccard.debug: 0 hw.cbb.debug: 0 hw.cbb.start_32_io: 4096 hw.cbb.start_16_io: 256 hw.cbb.start_memory: 2281701376 hw.pcic.pd6722_vsense: 1 hw.pcic.intr_mask: 57016 hw.pci.honor_msi_blacklist: 1 hw.pci.enable_msix: 1 hw.pci.enable_msi: 1 hw.pci.do_power_resume: 1 hw.pci.do_power_nodriver: 0 hw.pci.enable_io_modes: 1 hw.pci.host_mem_start: 2147483648 hw.syscons.kbd_debug: 1 hw.syscons.kbd_reboot: 1 hw.syscons.bell: 1 hw.syscons.saver.keybonly: 1 hw.syscons.sc_no_suspend_vtswitch: 0 hw.usb.uplcom.interval: 100 hw.usb.uvscom.interval: 100 hw.usb.uvscom.opktsize: 8 hw.wi.debug: 0 hw.wi.txerate: 0 hw.xe.debug: 0 hw.intr_storm_threshold: 1000 hw.availpages: 127714 hw.bus.devctl_disable: 0 hw.ste.rxsyncs: 0 hw.busdma.total_bpages: 32 hw.busdma.zone0.total_bpages: 32 hw.busdma.zone0.free_bpages: 32 hw.busdma.zone0.reserved_bpages: 0 hw.busdma.zone0.active_bpages: 0 hw.busdma.zone0.total_bounced: 0 hw.busdma.zone0.total_deferred: 0 hw.busdma.zone0.lowaddr: 0xffffffff hw.busdma.zone0.alignment: 2 hw.busdma.zone0.boundary: 65536 hw.clockrate: 2808 hw.instruction_sse: 1 hw.apic.enable_extint: 0 hw.kbd.keymap_restrict_change: 0 hw.acpi.supported_sleep_state: S3 S4 S5 hw.acpi.power_button_state: S5 hw.acpi.sleep_button_state: S3 hw.acpi.lid_switch_state: NONE hw.acpi.standby_state: S1 hw.acpi.suspend_state: S3 hw.acpi.sleep_delay: 1 hw.acpi.s4bios: 0 hw.acpi.verbose: 0 hw.acpi.disable_on_reboot: 0 hw.acpi.handle_reboot: 0 hw.acpi.cpu.cx_lowest: C1 Processes $ ps ax PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND 0 ?? • File Uploads with Turbogears 2

    - by William Chambers
I've been trying to work out the 'best practices' way to manage file uploads with Turbogears 2 and have thus far not really found any examples. I've figured out a way to actually upload the file, but I'm not sure how reliable it us. Also, what would be a good way to get the uploaded files name? file = request.POST['file'] permanent_file = open(os.path.join(asset_dirname, file.filename.lstrip(os.sep)), 'w') shutil.copyfileobj(file.file, permanent_file) file.file.close() this_file = self.request.params["file"].filename permanent_file.close() So assuming I'm understanding correctly, would something like this avoid the core 'naming' problem? id = UUID. file = request.POST['file'] permanent_file = open(os.path.join(asset_dirname, id.lstrip(os.sep)), 'w') shutil.copyfileobj(file.file, permanent_file) file.file.close() this_file = file.filename permanent_file.close()

  • Lua API for TokyoTyrant

    - by jideel
Hi SO folks, I didn't managed to find an Lua client/api for TokyoTyrant. Such Api exists for TokyoCabinet, but not for TT. And Perl and Ruby API exists for TT. TT provides a native binary protocol, a memcached-compatible protocol, and an HTTP-oriented protocol. So my questions are : 1/ Do you think using the memcached (using luamemcached) or the HTTP protocol (using luaSocket) is "enough" for most / simple usage, and so a native Lua api is not necessary ? (the app is a simple uuid storage/distributor) ? 2/ Does it make sense to not use TokyoTyrant, but only TokyoCabinet, and use Lua at the application level to provide network and concurrent access to TC, using, say, Copas (Copas is , from their website, "a dispatcher based on coroutines that can be used by TCP/IP servers." ? Thanks.

  • Convert XML namespace prefixes with C#?

    - by jrista
I have run into an exasperating problem getting a Java service client to communicate successfully with a WCF service. I have overcome many hurdles, and I believe that this is my last one. The problem boils down to how Java Axis + WSS4J seem to handle xml namespaces. The Java platform seem to be very rigid in what they expect for xml namespace prefixes, and as such, do not understand the WCF reply messages. My problem in a nutshell is as follows. I have an xml response similar to the following from my WCF service: <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing" xmlns:u="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd"> <s:Header> <a:Action s:mustUnderstand="1" u:Id="_3">http://tempuri.org/IProcessor/DoProcessingResponse</a:Action> <h:CorrelationID xmlns:h="http://tempuri.org/">1234</h:CorrelationID> <a:RelatesTo u:Id="_4">uuid:40f800a0-9613-4f4a-96c5-b9fd98085deb</a:RelatesTo> <o:Security s:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:o="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"> <!-- WS-Security header stuff --> </o:Security> </s:Header> <s:Body u:Id="_1"> <e:EncryptedData Id="_2" Type="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#Content" xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#"> <e:EncryptionMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#aes128-cbc"/> <e:CipherData> <e:CipherValue>NfA6XunmyLlT2ucA+5QneoawHm+imcaCltDAJC1mRZOSxoB6YGpDLY1FyVykPbPGDoFGUESLsmvvbD62sNnRrgE+AuKPo+1CD3DF4LfurRcEv9A50ba9V+ViqlrhydhK</e:CipherValue> </e:CipherData> </e:EncryptedData> </s:Body> </s:Envelope> This response uses simple one-character namespace prefixes for most things, such as 's' for SOAP Envelope, 'a' for WS-Addressing, 'o' for 'WS-Security', etc. The Java client, namely WSS4J, seems to expect the following: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:wsa="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd"> <soap:Header> <wsa:Action soap:mustUnderstand="1" wsu:Id="_3">http://tempuri.org/IProcessor/DoProcessingResponse</wsa:Action> <h:CorrelationID xmlns:h="http://tempuri.org/">1234</h:CorrelationID> <wsa:RelatesTo wsu:Id="_4">uuid:40f800a0-9613-4f4a-96c5-b9fd98085deb</a:RelatesTo> <wsse:Security soap:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"> <!-- WS-Security header stuff --> </wsse:Security> </soap:Header> <soap:Body u:Id="_1"> <xenc:EncryptedData Id="_2" Type="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#Content" xmlns:xenc="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#"> <xenc:EncryptionMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#aes128-cbc"/> <xenc:CipherData> <xenc:CipherValue>NfA6XunmyLlT2ucA+5QneoawHm+imcaCltDAJC1mRZOSxoB6YGpDLY1FyVykPbPGDoFGUESLsmvvbD62sNnRrgE+AuKPo+1CD3DF4LfurRcEv9A50ba9V+ViqlrhydhK</xenc:CipherValue> </xenc:CipherData> </xenc:EncryptedData> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> Upon receipt of my response message, the Java client and WSS4J seem to want to look up elements by their own internal xml aliases, such as 'wsa' for WS-Addressing, and 'wsse' for WS-Security Extensions. Since neither of those namespaces are present in the actual response xml, exceptions are thrown. I am wondering if there is any simple way to transform an xml document from one set of namespaces to another set using C#, .NET, and the System.Xml namespace. I've poked around with XmlNamespaceManager a bit, but it does not seem to fully support what I need...or at least, I have been unable to find any really useful examples, and am not fully sure how it works. I am trying to avoid having to write some heavy-duty process to handle this manually myself, as I do not want to drastically impact the performance of our services when called by a Java Axis/WSS4J client.

  • How can one connect to an RFCOMM device other than another phone in Android?

    - by Charles Duffy
The Android API provides examples of using listenUsingRfcommWithServiceRecord() to set up a socket and createRfcommSocketToServiceRecord() to connect to that socket. I'm trying to connect to an embedded device with a BlueSMiRF Gold chip. My working Python code (using the PyBluez library), which I'd like to port to Android, is as follows: sock = bluetooth.BluetoothSocket(proto=bluetooth.RFCOMM) sock.connect((device_addr, 1)) return sock.makefile() ...so the service to connect to is simply defined as channel 1, without any SDP lookup. As the only documented mechanism I see in the Android API does SDP lookup of a UUID, I'm slightly at a loss.

  • ::LookupAccountSid API Extremely Slow When Targetting x64 Platform (Windows 7)

    - by Chris
During our application startup, we are making a call to ::LookupAccountSid(). When I build targetting the x86 architecture, this call is nearly instantaneous. My compiler options (CCOPTS) and linker options (LINKOPTS) are as follows: CCOPTS = "/nologo /Gz /W3 /EHs /c /DWIN32 /D_MBCS /Ob1 /vmg /vmv /Zi /MD /DNDEBUG /DDV_BUILD_DLL /DIV_BUILD_DLL /DDVASSERT_EXCEPTION /Zc:wchar_t-" LINKOPTS = "/manifest:no /nologo /machine:X64 kernel32.lib user32.lib gdi32.lib winspool.lib comdlg32.lib advapi32.lib shell32.lib ole32.lib oleaut32.lib uuid.lib odbc32.lib odbccp32.lib /DEBUG /subsystem:windows /DLL" Any help would be greatly appreciated :D Thanks, --Chris

  • DOS batch command to read some info from text file

    - by Ray
Hello All, I am trying to read some info from a text file by using windows command line, and save it to a variable just like "set info =1234" Below is the content of the txt file, actually I just need the revision number, and the location of it is always the same line 5, and from column 11 to 15. In the sample it's 1234, and I am wondering is there a way to save it to a variable in Dos command line. Thanks a lot! svninfo.txt: Path: .
