  • Receiving a JSON string & saving one of the array paramaters to the database as a full string

    Hi I have a JSON string that looks like this (Usingt Rails and a REST service) { person: { name:"Pepe", last:"Smith" hats:[ { team:"lakers", color:"purple"}, { team:"heats", color:"red" }] } } I want to be able to able to get that JSON, and save the Person to the database, but I want to save the "hats".. as a string to the database; without parsing it or anything like that i.e. I want to save this to SQL: hats = "[ { team:"lakers", color:"purple"}, { team:"heats", color:"red" }] }" Is there a way to do this in rails?

  • What's a good matrix manipulation library available for C ?

    Hi, I am doing a lot of image processing in C and I need a good, reasonably lightweight, and above all FAST matrix manipulation library. I am mostly focussing on affine transformations and matrix inversions, so i do not need anything too sophisticated or bloated. Primarily I would like something that is very fast (using SSE perhaps?), with a clean API and (hopefully) prepackaged by many of the unix package management systems. Note this is for C not for C++.   • Why does the task name contain "now / 30"?

    In the video/PDF from "Data pipelines with Google App Engine" Brett puts "now / 30" into the task name noting that he will explain the reason later, but somehow he never does. :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSDC_TU7rtc#t=41m35 task_name = '%s-%d-%d' % (sum_name, int(now / 30), index) Do you have any idea about the reason?   • Cruise control merging problem

    Hi all, I am using cruise control which generated a particular output which is in text file format.So with the help of nant i am copying this file to another .xml of the same name in some other folder structure and i am using the file merge task which merges this output with my log files.I am also able to see this output merged in my webdashboard.Now i want this same output i.e .xml to be attached in may mail too.So is there anyway i can get this done??At present i dont get anything attached in my mail i.e no errors or warnings attached.   • Not receiving all message via TCP in Java?

    I have a tcp socket sending three lines like this out2.println("message1\n"); out2.println("message2\n"); out2.println("message3\n"); and another tco socket receiving and displaying these messages like this System.out.println(in.readLine()); System.out.println(in.readLine()); System.out.println(in.readLine()); but only the first message is recieved and displayed, anything I send after that is not.

    When I use remote desktop to access my windows 2008 server from windows vista I cannot re size or drag any windows in the RDP session. I can RDP in and maximize windows and minimize just fine buy I cannot re size or move a window. Any help I cannot find anything on Google.

    I'm trying to get a completely custom Dialog or PopupWindow, without any of the default Android UI controls (title, background, buttons, whatever). Is this possible at all?
