    I have recently installed Windows XP Pro SP2. Whenevr I try to run any .exe file I get the following error: Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. I read some where that if we right click on the file and in Properties-Security click the unblock option, this problem is solved but this is not working for me as I dont get Security tab in Properties.Please help!! Due to this I am not able to install any software in my computer

  • How do I "clean" ghost Windows Store apps from Windows 8?

    I am trying to run the Windows App Cert Kit (Edit: on my local machine)and am getting two entries for one of my apps. This could be because of something I did a while ago - however - I cant figure out how to uninstall that other app. When I type the name of the app on the start screen, I get just one item listed (which is the kosher app, not the ghost app) Where is information about such apps kept and how do I "clean" it?

    For testing purposes, I've found it's really useful to point whatever.machineIP.mydomain.com to 192.168.1.machineIP : that way we can test each other's code without fidgetting with hosts files. I'm aware that this identifies our local IP addresses to the outside world, but if someone could access the network, it'd be trivial to sniff which of the local IP addresses respond to port 80 anyway.   • New drivers, now switchable graphics won't work

    I have an ASUS notebook with dual AMD/ATI graphic cards. Before I've been able to switch individual programs in the Vision Control Center from high performance to energy saving and the other way around. But today I updated the drivers using the AMD Mobility to version 12.10, and now every time I try to configure switchable graphics it either shuts down or does not come up at all. I have a new menu item called Global Switchable Graphics settings though. Any thoughts on this?

  • Outlook Quick Steps - close email after selecting "Done"

    Is there a way for Outlook 2010 to close the currently opened-email (if it's in its own window) after I select "Done" from the Quick Steps item in the ribbon? I have investigated the Quick Step actions but I can't see anything applicable. I understand that the "Done" option is available even in the full Outlook window, so closing the current window wouldn't be appropriate here, but it'd be good if it could close it if the email was opened in a new window.

    Hello The venerable EccoPro offered a great in-place outliner to organize tasks into sub-tasks, and add a Due Date to any item so that they would be also displayed in the Calendar (and in a Palm pilot if the used had one). It seems like Outlook only supports a single-level task list: Is there an add-on to Outlook to do this, or another application than Outlook provided it's also capable of syncing with a BlackBerry?   • How to record a "macro" that saves web pages as PDF in OSX

    I frequently save pages as PDF from Chrome on OSX. The page is apple-P then click the PDF button and the "Save as PDF.." menu item. I always use the pre-filled filename and save in the default directory. Is it possible to save this as an automator script? If that is possible I woulld sure like to add this as a button on Chrome somewhere so I can just "save this for reading later" Thanks for any help.

    It is well known that it is possible to configure a DNS server to do a "catch-all" resolving on a single subdomain level, such as *.example.com. IN A x.x.x.x, so that anything.example.com maps to a single IP/CNAME. However, I need to set up an at least "level-2" wildcard sub-subdomain catch-all wildcard system so that any.thing.example.com or better, item.of.any.level.under.example.com will be resolved to a single IP. Has anyone got this working?

    I am using uTorrent for my torrents and when I open a new torrent with utorrent, I must manually right click the item click on bandwidth allocation set it to HIGH then I must repat the first 2 steps again and then go to click on Set upload limit and click the proper desired amount which for me is 1 Kb/s This is very annoying to do this on every single torrent, is there a way to have these set as the default values in utorrent?
