  • Extracting methods body from a class of Java Source Code

    - by Muhammad Asaduzzaman
    Hi, I want to extract method body from a Java Source Code. Suppose I have the following code: public class A{ public void print(){ System.out.println("Print This thing"); System.out.println("Print This thing"); System.out.println("Print This thing"); } } My objective is not to extract the method name (in this case print) but also the bode of the method(In this case the three print statement inside the print method). Can anyone suggest how can I do so? Is their any library available for doing so.

  • Why are Java primitive types' modifiers `public`, `abstract`, & `final`?

    - by oconnor0
    In the process of doing some reflection on Java types, I came across an oddity that I do not understand. Inspecting int for its modifiers returns public, abstract, and final. I understand public and final, but the presence of abstract on a primitive type is non-obvious to me. Why is this the case? Edit: I am not reflecting on Integer but on int: import java.lang.reflect.Modifier; public class IntegerReflection { public static void main(final String[] args) { System.out.println(String.format("int.class == Integer.class -> %b", int.class == Integer.class)); System.out.println(String.format("int.class modifiers: %s", Modifier.toString(int.class.getModifiers()))); System.out.println(String.format("Integer.class modifiers: %s", Modifier.toString(Integer.class.getModifiers()))); } } The output when run: int.class == Integer.class -> false int.class modifiers: public abstract final Integer.class modifiers: public final

  • Java: global values inside a class?

    - by HH
    I want less methods. I want a common global TestClass from which I could use any of its value inside the class. import java.util.*; import java.io.*; public class TestClass { TestClass(String hello){ String hallo = hello; String halloSecond = "Saluto!"; } public static void main(String[] args) { TestClass test = new TestClass("Tjena!"); System.out.println("I want "Tjena!": " + test.hallo); TestClass testSecond = new TestClass("1"); System.out.println("I want Saluto!:" + test.halloSecond); System.out.println("I want Saluto!:" + testSecond.halloSecond); } }

Can somebody teach how to implement...thanks!

  • Java Inheritance Concept Understanding

    - by Nirmal
    Hello All.... I am just refreshing the oops features of the java. So, I have a little confusion regarding inheritance concept. For that I have a following sample code : class Super{ int index = 5; public void printVal(){ System.out.println("Super"); } } class Sub extends Super{ int index = 2; public void printVal(){ System.out.println("Sub"); } } public class Runner { public static void main(String args[]){ Super sup = new Sub(); System.out.println(sup.index+","); sup.printVal(); } } Now above code is giving me output as : 5,Sub. Here, we are overriding printVal() method, so that is understandable that it is accessing child class method only. But I could not understand why it's accessing the value of x from Super class... Thanks in advance....

  • Is there some way to assume @Nullable as default? (using FindBugs or any other free tool).

    - by alex2k8
    Consider such code public void m1(String text) { if(text == null) text = "<empty>"; System.out.println(text.toLowerCase()); } And this is a buggy version: public void m1(String text) { System.out.println(text.toLowerCase()); } If null value passed, the NullPointerException may be thrown. I would like the static-analysis tool (e.g. FindBugs) to report this issue. Unsuccessfully the FindBugs (at least by default) requires me to specify @Nullable annotation explicitly. public void m1(@Nullable String text) { System.out.println(text.toLowerCase()); // FindBugs: text must be nonnull but is marked as nullable } The problem is that if I forget to annotate it, the bug will be missed!!! How can I make the FindBugs (or any other free tool) to assume @Nullable by default?

  • Java: Superclass to construct a subclass on certain conditions, possible?

    - by ramihope
    I have this condition public class A { public action() { System.out.println("Action done in A"); } } public class B extends A { public action() { System.out.println("Action done in B"); } } when I create an instance of B, the action will do just actions in B, as it overrides the action of the superclass. the problem is that in my project, the super class A is already used too many times, and I am looking for a way that under certain conditions, when i create an instance of A it makes a check and if it is true, replace itself with B. public class A { public A() { if ([condition]) { this = new B(); } } public action() { System.out.println("Action done in A"); } } A a = new A(); a.action(); // expect to see "Action done in B"... is this possible in some way?

  • Can anybody explain the working of following code...?

    - by Siddhi
    Can anybody explain the working of following code...? interface myInterface{} public class Main { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(new myInterface(){public String toString(){return "myInterfacetoString";}}); System.out.println(new myInterface(){public String myFunction(){return "myInterfacemyFunction";}}); } } Output is... myInterfacetoString primitivedemo.Main$2@9304b1 All answers saying that myInterface in println() statement is anonymous class. But as I already declared it as an interface, why does it allow me to create anonymous class of same name....? again...if these are anonymous classes then class main should allow me to give any name to these anonymous classes..But if try to do so..I'm getting compilation error

  • Reference to fnc.

    - by atch
    Hi guys, Is there a way in java to do something like this: void fnc(void Reference_to_other_func()); What I'm trying is basically I have number of places where I need to display this same text to the user and the only difference is which method is invoked after this text. So for example instead of writing: System.out.println("Hello"); f1(); //in some other place System.out.println("Hello"); f2(); //etc I would like to define one function: public void f(void Reference_to_other_func()) { System.out.println("Hello"); Reference_to_other_func();//HERE I'M INVOKING } and then instead of repeating this whole code I could write something like this: f(f1); //in some other place f(f2) //etc. Thanks for answers

  • String comparison in Java

    - by Kliver Max
    I want to compare two strings using Java. First sting name i get from .mif file using GDAL in cp1251 encoding. Second kadname i get from jsp. To compare i do this: if (attrValue instanceof String) { String string3 = new String((attrValue.toString()).getBytes("ISO-8859-1"), "cp1251"); dbFeature.setAttribute(name, string3); System.out.println("Name=" + name); System.out.println("kadname=" + kadname); if (name.equalsIgnoreCase(kadname)) { kadnum = string3; System.out.println("string3" + string3); } } And in console i get this: Name = kadnumm kadname = kadnumm Whats wrong with this?

  • Reference and Value confusion

    - by rgamber
    Hi I read this question on Stack overflow, and tried to do an example. I had the below code: public static void main(String[] args){ int i = 5; Integer I = new Integer(5); increasePrimitive(i); increaseObject(I); System.out.println(i); //Prints 5 - correct System.out.println(I); //Still prints 5 System.out.println(increaseObject2(I)); //Still prints 5 } public static void increasePrimitive(int n){ n++; } public static void increaseObject(Integer n){ n++; } public static int increaseObject2(Integer n){ return n++; } Does the increaseObject print 5 because the value of reference is changing inside that function? Am I right? I am confused why the increasedObject2 prints 5 and not 6. Can anyone please explain?

  • Cannot convert []string to []interface {}

    - by karlrh
    I'm writing some code, and I need it to catch the arguments and pass them through fmt.Println (I want its default behaviour, to write arguments separated by spaces and followed by a newline). However it takes []interface {} but flag.Args() returns a []string. Here's the code example package main import ( "fmt" "flag" ) func main() { flag.Parse() fmt.Println(flag.Args()...) } This returns the following error: ./example.go:10: cannot use args (type []string) as type []interface {} in function argument Is this a bug? Shouldn't fmt.Println take any array? By the way, I've also tried to do this: var args = []interface{}(flag.Args()) but I get the following error: cannot convert flag.Args() (type []string) to type []interface {} Is there a "Go" way to workaround this?

  • Why does the compiler complain "while expected" when I try to add more code?

    - by user1893578
    Write a program with a word containing @ character as an input. If the word doesn't contain @, it should prompt the user for a word with @. Once a word with @ is read, it should output the word then terminate. This is what I have done so far: public class find { public static void main(String[] args) { System.out.println(" Please enter a word with @ "); Scanner scan = new Scanner(System.in); String bad = "@"; String word = scan.next(); do if (!word.contains(bad)) System.out.println(" Please try again "); else System.out.println(" " + word); while (!word.contains(bad)); } } I can get it to terminate after a word containing "@" is given as input, but if I try to add a Scanner to the line after "please try again", it says while expected.

  • Confusing calling method in Java

    - by vBx
    class Parent { private void method1() { System.out.println("Parent's method1()"); } public void method2() { System.out.println("Parent's method2()"); method1(); } } class Child extends Parent { public void method1() { System.out.println("Child's method1()"); } } class test { public static void main(String args[]) { Parent p = new Child(); p.method2(); } } I'm confuse why does in Parent::method2() when invoking method1() it will cal Parents method1() and not Childs method1 ? I see that this happens only when method1() is private? Can someone explain me why ? Thanks you.

  • JBoss Seam: In ScopeType.PAGE I get: java.lang.IllegalStateException: No conversation context active

    - by Markos Fragkakis
    Hi all, I have a page-scoped component, which has an instance variable List with data, which I display in a datatable. This datatable has pagination, sorting and filtering. The first time gate into the page, I get this appended in my URL: ?conversationId=97. The page works correctly, and when I change datatable pages no now component is created. After a minute or two, and at seamingly random time, I get an exception saying that there is no context. I have not used @Create in my code or my navigation files. So, I have two questions: Why do I get this suffix in my URL? Why did a conversation start? Why the exception? The component is scoped to PAGE. If I received an exception, it should not be related to a conversation. Right? Or is the conversation the exception is referring a temporary conversation? Cheers! • Convert Java program to C

    - by imicrothinking
    I need a bit of guidance with writing a C program...a bit of quick background as to my level, I've programmed in Java previously, but this is my first time programming in C, and we've been tasked to translate a word count program from Java to C that consists of the following: Read a file from memory Count the words in the file For each occurrence of a unique word, keep a word counter variable Print out the top ten most frequent words and their corresponding occurrences Here's the source program in Java: package lab0; import java.io.File; import java.io.FileReader; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.Calendar; import java.util.Collections; public class WordCount { private ArrayList<WordCountNode> outputlist = null; public WordCount(){ this.outputlist = new ArrayList<WordCountNode>(); } /** * Read the file into memory. * * @param filename name of the file. * @return content of the file. * @throws Exception if the file is too large or other file related exception. */ public char[] readFile(String filename) throws Exception{ char [] result = null; File file = new File(filename); long size = file.length(); if (size > Integer.MAX_VALUE){ throw new Exception("File is too large"); } result = new char[(int)size]; FileReader reader = new FileReader(file); int len, offset = 0, size2read = (int)size; while(size2read > 0){ len = reader.read(result, offset, size2read); if(len == -1) break; size2read -= len; offset += len; } return result; } /** * Make article word by word. * * @param article the content of file to be counted. * @return string contains only letters and "'". */ private enum SPLIT_STATE {IN_WORD, NOT_IN_WORD}; } // Perform housekeeping tasks like freeing up memory and closing file I'm really stuck on the selection sort algorithm. I'm currently using 2D arrays to represent strings, and that worked out fine, but when it came to sorting, using three level nested loops didn't seem to work, I tried to use qsort instead, but I don't fully understand that function as well. Constructive feedback and criticism greatly welcome (...and needed)!

  • WLS MBeans

    - by Jani Rautiainen
    WLS provides a set of Managed Beans (MBeans) to configure, monitor and manage WLS resources. We can use the WLS MBeans to automate some of the tasks related to the configuration and maintenance of the WLS instance. The MBeans can be accessed a number of ways; using various UIs and programmatically using Java or WLST Python scripts.For customization development we can use the features to e.g. manage the deployed customization in MDS, control logging levels, automate deployment of dependent libraries etc. This article is an introduction on how to access and use the WLS MBeans. The goal is to illustrate the various access methods in a single article; the details of the features are left to the linked documentation.This article covers Windows based environment, steps for Linux would be similar however there would be some differences e.g. on how the file paths are defined. MBeansThe WLS MBeans can be categorized to runtime and configuration MBeans.The Runtime MBeans can be used to access the runtime information about the server and its resources. The data from runtime beans is only available while the server is running. The runtime beans can be used to e.g. check the state of the server or deployment.The Configuration MBeans contain information about the configuration of servers and resources. The configuration of the domain is stored in the config.xml file and the configuration MBeans can be used to access and modify the configuration data. For more information on the WLS MBeans refer to: Understanding WebLogic Server MBeans WLS MBean reference Java Management Extensions (JMX)We can use JMX APIs to access the WLS MBeans. This allows us to create Java programs to configure, monitor, and manage WLS resources. In order to use the WLS MBeans we need to add the following library into the class-path: WL_HOME\lib\wljmxclient.jar Connecting to a WLS MBean server The WLS MBeans are contained in a Mbean server, depending on the requirement we can connect to (MBean Server / JNDI Name): Domain Runtime MBean Server weblogic.management.mbeanservers.domainruntime Runtime MBean Server weblogic.management.mbeanservers.runtime Edit MBean Server weblogic.management.mbeanservers.edit To connect to the WLS MBean server first we need to create a map containing the credentials; Hashtable<String, String> param = new Hashtable<String, String>(); param.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL, "weblogic");        param.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS, "weblogic1");        param.put(JMXConnectorFactory.PROTOCOL_PROVIDER_PACKAGES, "weblogic.management.remote"); These define the user, password and package containing the protocol. Next we create the connection: JMXServiceURL serviceURL =     new JMXServiceURL("t3","127.0.0.1",7101,     "/jndi/weblogic.management.mbeanservers.domainruntime"); JMXConnector connector = JMXConnectorFactory.connect(serviceURL, param); MBeanServerConnection connection = connector.getMBeanServerConnection(); With the connection we can now access the MBeans for the WLS instance. For a complete example see Appendix A of this post. For more details refer to Accessing WebLogic Server MBeans with JMX Accessing WLS MBeans The WLS MBeans are structured hierarchically; in order to access content we need to know the path to the MBean we are interested in. The MBean is accessed using “MBeanServerConnection. getAttribute” API.  WLS provides entry points to the hierarchy allowing us to navigate all the WLS MBeans in the hierarchy (MBean Server / JMX object name): Domain Runtime MBean Server com.bea:Name=DomainRuntimeService,Type=weblogic.management.mbeanservers.domainruntime.DomainRuntimeServiceMBean Runtime MBean Servers com.bea:Name=RuntimeService,Type=weblogic.management.mbeanservers.runtime.RuntimeServiceMBean Edit MBean Server com.bea:Name=EditService,Type=weblogic.management.mbeanservers.edit.EditServiceMBean For example we can access the Domain Runtime MBean using: ObjectName service = new ObjectName( "com.bea:Name=DomainRuntimeService," + "Type=weblogic.management.mbeanservers.domainruntime.DomainRuntimeServiceMBean"); Same syntax works for any “child” WLS MBeans e.g. to find out all application deployments we can: ObjectName domainConfig = (ObjectName)connection.getAttribute(service,"DomainConfiguration"); ObjectName[] appDeployments = (ObjectName[])connection.getAttribute(domainConfig,"AppDeployments"); Alternatively we could access the same MBean using the full syntax: ObjectName domainConfig = new ObjectName("com.bea:Location=DefaultDomain,Name=DefaultDomain,Type=Domain"); ObjectName[] appDeployments = (ObjectName[])connection.getAttribute(domainConfig,"AppDeployments"); For more details refer to Accessing WebLogic Server MBeans with JMX Invoking operations on WLS MBeans The WLS MBean operations can be invoked with MBeanServerConnection. invoke API; in the following example we query the state of “AppsLoggerService” application: ObjectName appRuntimeStateRuntime = new ObjectName("com.bea:Name=AppRuntimeStateRuntime,Type=AppRuntimeStateRuntime"); Object[] parameters = { "AppsLoggerService", "DefaultServer" }; String[] signature = { "java.lang.String", "java.lang.String" }; String result = (String)connection.invoke(appRuntimeStateRuntime,"getCurrentState",parameters, signature); The result returned should be "STATE_ACTIVE" assuming the "AppsLoggerService" application is up and running. WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) The WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) is a command-line scripting environment that we can access the same WLS MBeans. The tool is located under: $MW_HOME\oracle_common\common\bin\wlst.bat Do note that there are several instances of the wlst script under the $MW_HOME, each of them works, however the commands available vary, so we want to use the one under “oracle_common”. The tool is started in offline mode. In offline mode we can access and manipulate the domain configuration. In online mode we can access the runtime information. We connect to the Administration Server : connect("weblogic","weblogic1", "t3://127.0.0.1:7101") In both online and offline modes we can navigate the WLS MBean using commands like "ls" to print content and "cd" to navigate between objects, for example: All the commands available can be obtained with: help('all') For details of the tool refer to WebLogic Scripting Tool and for the commands available WLST Command and Variable Reference. Also do note that the WLST tool can be invoked from Java code in Embedded Mode. Running Scripts The WLST tool allows us to automate tasks using Python scripts in Script Mode. The script can be manually created or recorded by the WLST tool. Example commands of recording a script: startRecording("c:/temp/recording.py") <commands that we want to record> stopRecording() We can run the script from WLST: execfile("c:/temp/recording.py") We can also run the script from the command line: C:\apps\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\common\bin\wlst.cmd c:/temp/recording.py There are various sample scripts are provided with the WLS instance. UI to Access the WLS MBeans There are various UIs through which we can access the WLS MBeans. Oracle Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console Fusion Middleware Control MBean Browser In the integrated JDeveloper environment only the Oracle WebLogic Server Administration Console is available to us. For more information refer to the documentation, one noteworthy feature in the console is the ability to record WLST scripts based on the navigation. In addition to the UIs above the JConsole included in the JDK can be used to access the WLS MBeans. The JConsole needs to be started with specific parameter to force WLS objects to be used and jar files in the classpath: "C:\apps\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24\bin\jconsole" -J-Djava.class.path=C:\apps\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24\lib\jconsole.jar;C:\apps\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_24\lib\tools.jar;C:\apps\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\wljmxclient.jar -J-Djmx.remote.protocol.provider.pkgs=weblogic.management.remote For more details refer to the Accessing Custom MBeans from JConsole. Summary In this article we have covered various ways we can access and use the WLS MBeans in context of integrated WLS in JDeveloper to be used for Fusion Application customization development. • Threads are facing deadlock in socket program [migrated]

    - by ankur.trapasiya
    I am developing one program in which a user can download a number of files. Now first I am sending the list of files to the user. So from the list user selects one file at a time and provides path where to store that file. In turn it also gives the server the path of file where does it exist. I am following this approach because I want to give stream like experience without file size limitation. Here is my code.. 1) This is server which gets started each time I start my application public class FileServer extends Thread { private ServerSocket socket = null; public FileServer() { try { socket = new ServerSocket(Utils.tcp_port); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } } @Override public void run() { try { System.out.println("request received"); new FileThread(socket.accept()).start(); } catch (IOException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } } 2) This thread runs for each client separately and sends the requested file to the user 8kb data at a time. public class FileThread extends Thread { private Socket socket; private String filePath; public String getFilePath() { return filePath; } public void setFilePath(String filePath) { this.filePath = filePath; } public FileThread(Socket socket) { this.socket = socket; System.out.println("server thread" + this.socket.isConnected()); //this.filePath = filePath; } @Override public void run() { // TODO Auto-generated method stub try { ObjectInputStream ois=new ObjectInputStream(socket.getInputStream()); try { //************NOTE filePath=(String) ois.readObject(); } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } File f = new File(this.filePath); byte[] buf = new byte[8192]; InputStream is = new FileInputStream(f); BufferedInputStream bis = new BufferedInputStream(is); ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream( socket.getOutputStream()); int c = 0; while ((c = bis.read(buf, 0, buf.length)) > 0) { oos.write(buf, 0, c); oos.flush(); // buf=new byte[8192]; } oos.close(); //socket.shutdownOutput(); // client.shutdownOutput(); System.out.println("stop"); // client.shutdownOutput(); ois.close(); // Thread.sleep(500); is.close(); bis.close(); socket.close(); } catch (IOException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } } NOTE: here filePath represents the path of the file where it exists on the server. The client who is connecting to the server provides this path. I am managing this through sockets and I am successfully receiving this path. 3) FileReceiverThread is responsible for receiving the data from the server and constructing file from this buffer data. public class FileReceiveThread extends Thread { private String fileStorePath; private String sourceFile; private Socket socket = null; public FileReceiveThread(String ip, int port, String fileStorePath, String sourceFile) { this.fileStorePath = fileStorePath; this.sourceFile = sourceFile; try { socket = new Socket(ip, port); System.out.println("receive file thread " + socket.isConnected()); } catch (IOException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } @Override public void run() { try { ObjectOutputStream oos = new ObjectOutputStream( socket.getOutputStream()); oos.writeObject(sourceFile); oos.flush(); // oos.close(); File f = new File(fileStorePath); OutputStream os = new FileOutputStream(f); BufferedOutputStream bos = new BufferedOutputStream(os); byte[] buf = new byte[8192]; int c = 0; //************ NOTE ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream( socket.getInputStream()); while ((c = ois.read(buf, 0, buf.length)) > 0) { // ois.read(buf); bos.write(buf, 0, c); bos.flush(); // buf = new byte[8192]; } ois.close(); oos.close(); // os.close(); bos.close(); socket.close(); //Thread.sleep(500); } catch (IOException ex) { ex.printStackTrace(); } } } NOTE : Now the problem that I am facing is at the first time when the file is requested the outcome of the program is same as my expectation. I am able to transmit any size of file at first time. Now when the second file is requested (e.g. I have sent file a,b,c,d to the user and user has received file a successfully and now he is requesting file b) the program faces deadlock at this situation. It is waiting for socket's input stream. I put breakpoint and tried to debug it but it is not going in FileThread's run method second time. I could not find out the mistake here. Basically I am making a LAN Messenger which works on LAN. I am using SWT as UI framework.

But when i try to compile some code, i get many errors. package main import ( "os" //"errors" "fmt" //gl "github.com/chsc/gogl/gl33" //"github.com/jteeuwen/glfw" "github.com/go-gl/gl" "github.com/go-gl/glfw" "runtime" "time" ) var ( width int = 640 height int = 480 ) var ( points = []float32{0.0, 0.8, -0.8, -0.8, 0.8, -0.8} ) func initScene() { gl.Init() gl.ClearColor(0.0, 0.5, 1.0, 1.0) gl.Enable(gl.CULL_FACE) gl.Viewport(0, 0, 800, 600) } func glfwInitWindowContext() { if err := glfw.Init(); err != nil { fmt.Fprintf(os.Stderr, "glfw_Init: %s\n", err) glfw.Terminate() } glfw.OpenWindowHint(glfw.FsaaSamples, 1) glfw.OpenWindowHint(glfw.WindowNoResize, 1) if err := glfw.OpenWindow(width, height, 0, 0, 0, 0, 32, 0, glfw.Windowed); err != nil { fmt.Fprintf(os.Stderr, "glfw_Window: %s\n", err) glfw.CloseWindow() } glfw.SetSwapInterval(1) glfw.SetWindowTitle("Title") } func drawScene() { for glfw.WindowParam(glfw.Opened) == 1 { gl.Clear(gl.COLOR_BUFFER_BIT) vertexShaderSrc := `#version 120 attribute vec2 coord2d; void main(void) { gl_Position = vec4(coord2d, 0.0, 1.0); }` vertexShader := gl.CreateShader(gl.VERTEX_SHADER) vertexShader.Source(vertexShaderSrc) vertexShader.Compile() fragmentShaderSrc := `#version 120 void main(void) { gl_FragColor[0] = 0.0; gl_FragColor[1] = 0.0; gl_FragColor[2] = 1.0; }` fragmentShader := gl.CreateShader(gl.FRAGMENT_SHADER) fragmentShader.Source(fragmentShaderSrc) fragmentShader.Compile() program := gl.CreateProgram() program.AttachShader(vertexShader) program.AttachShader(fragmentShader) program.Link() attribute_coord2d := program.GetAttribLocation("coord2d") program.Use() //attribute_coord2d.AttribPointer(size, typ, normalized, stride, pointer) attribute_coord2d.EnableArray() attribute_coord2d.AttribPointer(0, 3, false, 0, &(points[0])) //gl.DrawArrays(gl.TRIANGLES, 0, len(points)) gl.DrawArrays(gl.TRIANGLES, 0, 3) glfw.SwapBuffers() inputHandler() time.Sleep(100 * time.Millisecond) } } func inputHandler() { glfw.Enable(glfw.StickyKeys) if glfw.Key(glfw.KeyEsc) == glfw.KeyPress { //gl.DeleteBuffers(2, &uiVBO[0]) glfw.Terminate() } if glfw.Key(glfw.KeyF2) == glfw.KeyPress { glfw.SetWindowTitle("Title2") fmt.Println("Changed to 'Title2'") fmt.Println(len(points)) } if glfw.Key(glfw.KeyF1) == glfw.KeyPress { glfw.SetWindowTitle("Title1") fmt.Println("Changed to 'Title1'") } } func main() { runtime.LockOSThread() glfwInitWindowContext() initScene() drawScene() } And after that: panic: runtime error: invalid memory address or nil pointer dereference [signal 0xb code=0x1 addr=0x0 pc=0x41bc6f74] goroutine 1 [syscall]: github.com/go-gl/gl._Cfunc_glDrawArrays(0x4, 0x7f8500000003) /tmp/go-build463568685/github.com/go-gl/gl/_obj/_cgo_defun.c:610 +0x2f github.com/go-gl/gl.DrawArrays(0x4, 0x3, 0x0, 0x45bd70) /tmp/go-build463568685/github.com/go-gl/gl/_obj/gl.cgo1.go:1922 +0x33 main.drawScene() /home/klink/Dev/Go/gogl/gopher/exper.go:85 +0x1e6 main.main() /home/klink/Dev/Go/gogl/gopher/exper.go:116 +0x27 goroutine 2 [syscall]: created by runtime.main /build/buildd/golang-1/src/pkg/runtime/proc.c:221 exit status 2

  • Java Dynamic Binding

    - by Chris Okyen
    I am having trouble understanding the OOP Polymorphic principl of Dynamic Binding ( Late Binding ) in Java. I looked for question pertaining to java, and wasn't sure if a overall answer to how dynamic binding works would pertain to Java Dynamic Binding, I wrote this question. Given: class Person { private String name; Person(intitialName) { name = initialName; } // irrelevant methods is here. // Overides Objects method public void writeOutput() { println(name); } } class Student extends Person { private int studentNumber; Student(String intitialName, int initialStudentNumber) { super(intitialName); studentNumber = initialStudentNumber; } // irrellevant methods here... // overides Person, Student and Objects method public void writeOutput() { super.writeOutput(); println(studentNumber); } } class Undergaraduate extends Student { private int level; Undergraduate(String intitialName, int initialStudentNumber,int initialLevel) { super(intitialName,initialStudentNumber); level = initialLevel; } // irrelevant methods is here. // overides Person, Student and Objects method public void writeOutput() { super.writeOutput(); println(level); } } I am wondering. if I had an array called person declared to contain objects of type Person: Person[] people = new Person[2]; person[0] = new Undergraduate("Cotty, Manny",4910,1); person[1] = new Student("DeBanque, Robin", 8812); Given that person[] is declared to be of type Person, you would expect, for example, in the third line where person[0] is initialized to a new Undergraduate object,to only gain the instance variable from Person and Persons Methods since doesn't the assignment to a new Undergraduate to it's ancestor denote the Undergraduate object to access Person - it's Ancestors, methods and isntance variables... Thus ...with the following code I would expect person[0].writeOutput(); // calls Undergraduate::writeOutput() person[1].writeOutput(); // calls Student::writeOutput() person[0] to not have Undergraduate's writeOutput() overidden method, nor have person[1] to have Student's overidden method - writeOutput(). If I had Person mikeJones = new Student("Who?,MikeJones",44,4); mikeJones.writeOutput(); The Person::writeOutput() method would be called. Why is this not so? Does it have to do with something I don't understand about relating to arrays? Does the declaration Person[] people = new Person[2] not bind the method like the previous code would?

  • Merge sort. ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException [migrated]

    When I execute the program I am getting an error as stated below the program. Please help me figure out the problem.. import java.util.*; class Mergesort { public static void main(String args[]) { Scanner in= new Scanner(System.in); System.out.println("Enter the number of elements"); int n= in.nextInt(); int a[]= new int[n]; System.out.println("Enter the contents"); for(int i=0; i<n; i++) { a[i]=in.nextInt(); } a = mergesort(a,n); for(int i=0; i<n; i++) { System.out.println(a[i]); } } public static int[] mergesort(int[] x, int z) { if(z==1) { return x; } int b[]=new int[z/2]; int c[]=new int[z-z/2]; int i,j,k; for(int p=0;p<z/2; p++) { b[p]= x[p]; c[p]= x[p+z/2]; } c[z-z/2-1]= x[z-1]; b= mergesort(b,z/2); c= mergesort(c,z-z/2); for(i=0,j=0,k=0; k<z; k++) { if(b[i]<=c[j]) { x[k]=b[i]; i++; } else if( b[i]>c[j]) { x[k]=c[j]; j++; } else if(i== z/2) { x[k]= c[j]; j++; } else if(j == z-z/2) { x[k]= b[i]; i++; } } return x; } } Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 1 at Mergesort.mergesort(Mergesort.java:41) at Mergesort.mergesort(Mergesort.java:36) at Mergesort.main(Mergesort.java:16)

  • Calling functions from different classes

    - by A Ron Hubbard Clevenger
    I'm writing a program and I'm supposed to check and see if a certain object is in the list before I call it. I set up the contains() method which is supposed to use the equals() method of the Comparable interface I implemented on my Golfer class but it doesn't seem to call it (I put print statements in to check). I can't seem to figure out whats wrong with the code, the ArrayUnsortedList class I'm using to go through the list even uses the correct toString() method I defined in my Golfer class but for some reason it won't use the equals() method I implemented. //From "GolfApp.java" public class GolfApp{ ListInterface <Golfer>golfers = new ArraySortedList<Golfer> (20); Golfer golfer; //..*snip*.. if(this.golfers.contains(new Golfer(name,score))) System.out.println("The list already contains this golfer"); else{ this.golfers.add(this.golfer = new Golfer(name,score)); System.out.println("This golfer is already on the list"); } //From "ArrayUnsortedList.java" protected void find(T target){ location = 0; found = false; while (location < numElements){ if (list[location].equals(target)) //Where I think the problem is { found = true; return; } else location++; } } public boolean contains(T element){ find(element); return found; } //From "Golfer.java" public class Golfer implements Comparable<Golfer>{ //..irrelavant code sniped..// public boolean equals(Golfer golfer) { String thisString = score + ":" + name; String otherString = golfer.getScore() + ":" + golfer.getName() ; System.out.println("Golfer.equals() has bee called"); return thisString.equalsIgnoreCase(otherString); } public String toString() { return (score + ":" + name); } My main problem seems to be getting the find function of the ArrayUnsortedList to call my equals function in the find() part of the List but I'm not exactly sure why, like I said when I have it printed out it works with the toString() method I implemented perfectly. I'm almost positive the problem has to do with the find() function in the ArraySortedList not calling my equals() method. I tried using some other functions that relied on the find() method and got the same results.
