  • Php file outputting javascript for include as a JS file - need to restrict so its not opened in a browser window

    Hi guys, I'm storing configuration details in a database which I need to use in javascript. I'm accessing all this using php and instead of outputting all the details into inline javascript code on the main page I've instead created a php file that outputs content type javascript and refernce it in my main page as an external javascript file. I want to set it up so that it can't be viewed in a browser window i.e : <script type="text/javascript" src="phpFileThatDoesJS.php" ></script> should work but typing www.mysite.com/phpFileThatDoesJS.php in the browser shouldn't EDIT ========== The thing is that I have to edit a script that for some oddball reason stores the username and password of a user in a javascript Object and outputs it within script tags. I have to set it up so that this is not viewable by a simple view source action. Thats why I thought of referencing it as an external javascript. Isnt there any htaccess tricks that I could use?

  • When using the Facebook Connect Actionscript API (no JS, just straight Flash), how can I listen for

    Hey guys, When using the Facebook Connect AS API, the user will be prompted to log in to FB in a pop up window. At this point I want to block interaction in my flash movie and wait for them to complete logging in (or potentially close/cancel and not log in). I have seen examples where people put up a Flex "Alert" box with some hint like "Press ok once you have logged into facebook", but I want to automatically listen for them logging in or canceling/closing the popup window without logging in. Is there an event I can listen for with flash? So far I am using ZERO javascript, but I guess I could add a little if it is needed for this... I definitely want to avoid having some sort of "Press OK" alert box, but instead have the flash application automatically react to the user logging in with the popup window.

  • Dangers when deploying Flash/Flex UI test automation hooks to production?

    I am interested in doing automated testing against a Flex based UI. I have found out that my best options for UI automation (due to being C# controllable, good licensing conditions, etc) all seem to require that I compile test hooks into my application. Because of this, I am thinking of recommending that these hooks be compiled into our build. I have found a few places on the net that recommend not deploying bits with this instrumentation enabled, and I'd like to know why. Is it a performance drain, or a security risk? If it is a security risk, can you explain how the attack surface is increased? I am not a Flash or Flex developer, though I have some experience with threat modeling. For reference, here's the tools I'm specifically considering: QTP Selenium-Flex API I am having problems finding all the warnings/suggestions I found last night, but here's an example that I can find: http://www.riatest.com/products/getting-started.html Warning! Automation enabled applications expose all properties of all GUI components. This makes them vulnerable to malicious use. Never make automation enabled application publicly available. The function is supposed to display two parameters that have certain values, both of which point to the same structure.     I found this question which is a great starting point towards creating embedded widgets that enable showing dynamic content on remote sites (i.e. a different domain). One problem I'm having is with the following code: public ActionResult SomeAction() { return new JsonpResult { Data = new { Widget = "some partial html for the widget" } }; } It says Widget = "some partial html for the widget" but this doesn't really mean anything to me. I assume that Widget would contain the HTML representing what the user wants to see on the screen, but How do I get the contents of my Partial View into Widget?   • Comparing strings that contain formatting in C#

    I'm working on a function that given some settings - such as line spacing, the output (in string form) is modified. In order to test such scenarios, I'm using string literals, as shown below for the expected result. The method, using a string builder, (AppendLine) generates the said output. One issue I have run into is that of comparing such strings. In the example below, both are equal in terms of what they represent. The result is the area which I care about, however when comparing two strings, one literal, one not, equality naturally fails. This is because one of the strings emits line spacing, while the other only demonstrates the formatting it contains. What would be the best way of solving this equality problem? I do care about formatting such as new lines from the result of the method, this is crucially important.     I'm using GNU Make 3.81, and I have the following rule in my Makefile: jslint : java org.mozilla.javascript.tools.shell.Main jslint.js mango.js \ | sed 's/Lint at line \([0-9]\+\) character \([0-9]\+\)/mango.js:\1:\2/' This works fine if I enter it directly on the command line, but the regular expression does not match if I run it with "make jslint". Changing the quantities this way this doesn't actually change the order itself, they have to press confirm and therefore committing a positive action to change the order. However if they have changed the quantities and navigate away from the page I would like to warn them they are doing so in case this is an accident, as the changed quantities will be lost if they navigate away or refresh the page. In the code above I am using a global variable which will be false by default (its only true for testing), when a quantity is changed I will update this variable to be true, and when they confirm the changes I will set it to false. If warning is true and the page is unloaded, I offer them a confirmation box, if they say no they would like to stay on this page I need to stop it from unloading. return false isn't working, it still lets the user navigate away (the alerts are there for debugging only) Any ideas?

    Hello, I am trying to intercept calls to document.write for all pages. Setting up the interception inside the page by injecting a script like function overrideDocWrite() { alert("Override called"); document.write = function(w) { return function(s) { alert("special dom"); w.call(this, wrapString(s)); }; }(document.write); alert("Override finished"); } is easy and works, but i would like my extension to setup the interception for each document object from inside the extension. I couldn't find a way to do this. I tried to listen for the "load" event and set up the interception there but it also fails. How do I hook calls to doc.write from an extension?

  • Hibernate Transient Extends problem

    @MappedSuperclass public abstract class BaseAbstract implements Serializable{ private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; protected String test = //some random value; public String getTest() { return test; } public void setTest(String test){ this.test = test; } } @Entity public class Artist extends BaseAbstract { private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L; private Integer id; @override @Transient public String getTest() { return test; } ..... } My question is... when i am trying to do any operation on the artist, along with id and name, test is also getting saved which should not be the case... if i add the same transient on the baseabstract class getTest() method, i see test column NOT getting created(ideally what it should happen) but if i try to override the method with adding annotaion in the sub class it creates the test column... I dont know why this is happening since when hibernate is creating the artist object and checks for annotations, it should see the transient annotation present on the getTest() of artist method...and should not create a column in the database... Let me know if you need any clarification.... Any response on this is greatly appreciated.... Thank you

    Hello. I've made a page which should show a div when the user clicks on a input text box. The div will contain more information about the required input, etc. The page works fine on FireFox and the div shows, but when using IE the div just doesn't show. It seems like I've tried everything and nothing has worked so far. This is the page. Maybe you could look at the source and see what I'm doing wrong?     Obviously when you're creating an actual string literal yourself, you backslash escape the double quote characters yourself. var foo = "baz\"bat"; Just as you would with the handful of other control characters, like linebreaks and backslashes. var bar = "baz\\bat"; but when you already have a variable, and you're wrapping that existing variable in quote characters, there's some confusion. Obviously you have to escape any potential double quote characters that are in the string. (Assuming whatever system you're giving the explicitly quoted string to, needs to be able to parse them correctly. =) var doubleQuoteRe = /\"/g; var quoted = unquoted.replace(escaper, '\\\"'); However from there opinions diverge a little. In particular, according to some you also have to worry about escaping literal backslash characters in the variable. // now say i have a string bar, that has both single backslash character in it, // as well as a double-quote character in it. // the following code ONLY worries about escaping the double quote char. var quoted = bar.replace(doubleQuoteRe, '\\\"'); The above seems fine to me. But is there a problem im not seeing?

  • Is there a JS/JQuery way to find out if embedded objects are loaded?

    I've got a web page that I'm embedding a pdf into. Conceptually very simple: <html> <body> blah1 <object type="application/pdf" data="a.pdf" width="500" height="650" ></object> blah2 </body> </html> What I would like to do is fire a JavaScript event when the pdf finishes loading. Is there a way to make this happen? I know only a little about JQuery, but it looks like .ready() won't fit my needs, since it is designed to fire when the html document is ready, not when all of its components are fully loaded. Thoughts?
