• Justified navigation buttons

  I'm trying to create the primary navigation menu for a website that will have a variable amount of primary menu items. The navigation bar is horizontal and has a width of 738px. I would like to have the leftmost item 18px from the left and the rightmost item 18px from the right edge of the element, with the other menu items spread evenly between them. I'm using a tableless layout. So far I haven't been able to make it work exactly like I want. Setting margin: auto doesn't seem to help, and I can't keep the 18px margin on both sides using a table. One idea was to use text-align: justify but it doesn't justify single lines. Is there a simple or less simple way of doing this, or am I going to have to ask the AD to relax his visual requirements?

• razor intellisense not working on VS2010 for microsoft.web.helpers

  I have VS2010 Premium,.NET4.0, MVC3 Tools Update. I've nugetted microsoft-web-helpers successfully. I cannot get @razor intellisense to recognize the microsoft.web.helpers classes. They do work correctely at runtime, i.e. @Twitter.profile shows a profile, but at design time the statent is seen as an error and no members are shown after "." I've tried to add <add assembly="System.Web.Helpers, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35" /> to the <assemblies> element in web.config, but it didn't help. Any idea? thanks.

  Say you have the following css applied to a div tag .divtagABS { position: absolute; margin-left: auto; margin-right:auto; } the margin-left and margin-right does not take effect but if you have relative, it works fine i.e. ,divtagREL { position: relative; margin-left: auto; margin-right:auto; } why is that? i just want to center an element can someone explain why setting margins to auto in absolute position does not work?

I would have thought that it would be defined in your web/app server using JNDI and then look up the JNDI reference in your Java code? The resource-ref definition seems a bit redundant to me and I can't think of when it might be useful. • Jquery Accordion Close then Open

  Hi Everyone, I've set up a number of accordions on a page using the jquery accordion plugin so I can implement expand all and collapse all functionality. Each ID element is it's own accordion and the code below works to close them all no matter which ones are already open: $("#contact, #address, #email, #sales, #equipment, #notes, #marketingdata") .accordion("activate", -1) ; My problem is with the expand all. When I have them all expand with this code: $("#contact, #address, #email, #sales, #equipment, #notes, #marketingdata") .accordion("activate", 0) ; Some will contract and some will expand based on whether or not they are previously open. My idea to correct this was to collapse them all and then expand them all when the expand all was clicked. This code however won't execute properly: $("#contact, #address, #email, #sales, #equipment, #notes, #marketingdata") .accordion("activate", -1) ; $("#contact, #address, #email, #sales, #equipment, #notes, #marketingdata") .accordion("activate", 0) ; It will only hit the second command and not close them all first.   Hi, I'm currently working on a Datawarehouse project using an Oracle Database, Oracle Data Integrator, Oracle Warehouse Builder and some Jython thrown in for good measure. All of which is held within TFS. My background is .net and prior to this project was seeing a lot of promise in CI. I'm not suggesting that the testing element of CI is feasible in this instance, but I would like to implement a stable deployment strategy. What I'm trying to understand is whether or not I can build some NANT scripts that will allow me to deploy ODI\OWB\Oracle DB code to any given environment at any point. Has anyone tried this before? Are there more appropriate tools out there that lends themselves better to this sort of toolset? Am I just a crazy horse to be evening contemplating this? Any view would be greatly appreciated. • Cloning java ArrayList and preventing it from modifications

  I have a data structure like a database Rowset, which has got Rows and Rows have Columns. I need to initialize a Columns with null values, current code is to loop thru each column for a row and initialize values to NULL. Which is very inefficient if you have 100s or rows and 10s of column. So instead I am keeping a initialized ArrayList of columns are RowSet level, and then doing a clone of this Arraylist for individual rows, as I believe clone() is faster than looping thru each element. row.columnsValues = rowsset.NullArrayList.clone() Problem with this is NullArrayList can be accidentally modified after being cloned, thus sacrificing the integrity of ArrayList at RowSet level, to prevent I am doing 3 things 1) Delcaring ArrayList as final 2) Any elements I insert are final or null 3) Methods thurough this arrayList are passed to other arrays are declared a final. Sounds like a plan, do you see any holes ?

  My html anchor is as follows. <a name="template-8"/> <h4 class="template" id="template-8">A title</h4> As far as I know the browser should skip to the element matching either name or id attributes. When I type in the url http://my.site.com/templates#template-8 safari jumps down the page as expected. However when linking as below the anchor does nothing. Chrome, Opera, IE7 and Firefox all work. <a href="http://my.site.com/templates#template-8">A link</a> Safari is version 5.0, could this be a safari bug?

  I have a div, which has jQuery UI Draggable applied. What I want to do, is click and drag that, and create a clone that is kept in the dom and not removed when dropped. Think of a deck of cards, my box element is the deck, and I want to pull cards/divs off that deck and have them laying around my page, but they would be clones of the original div. • JSF 2 Scriptmanager style functionality

  I need to be able to add some javascript to all ajax postback responses (PartialViewContext.isAjaxRequest == true) but I am not succeeding with any implementation I try. I have tried implementing a PhaseListener and adding my script using PartialResponseWriter.insert* to add eval blocks, as well as trying to add the script by creating a script element. (Results in CDATA cannot nest, or just invalid XML) I have tried decorating PartialViewContextFactory to override the PartialViewContext.processPartial and add the script after the wrapped instance has processed it... How should I go about adding sripts to an Ajax response? Something similar to what .NET has with Scriptmanager.registerClientScriptBlock preferably. Thank you

Any ideas what the problem is, or a different way I can accomplish the same thing. What I need is to simply include the circle in the button when it's in the hover state.

• Javascript callback on blackberry

  I'm working on a mobile project, and I have a script that is dynamically generated on the backend and then appended to the document (the html page). Desktop browsers seem to append the script correctly and call any functions in the script, however, I can't get this to happen on Blackberry phones. I know that the script is being appending because I can alert it after I append it. I just can get it to call the function in the script. For example, if I have code like this: var scriptText = document.createElement('script'); scriptText.type = 'text/javascript'; scriptText.id = 'thisScript'; scriptText.innerHTML = 'alert("hello");'; document.getElementById('idName').appendChild(scriptText); alert(document.getElementById('thisScript')); //Alerts the script element. This will alert 'hello' in desktop browsers and even the iPhone/iPodTouch, but not BlackBerry's. Anyone have any idea why? Or if there's a fix/hack?

• Any ideas on how to implement a 'touchMoveOver' event in Javascript?

  I'm faffing around with SVG, specifically for web content aimed at iPad users. I've created a little dial type thingy that I'm calling a "cheese board" that I'd like to use as an interface element. http://appliedworks.co.uk/files/times/SVGTests/raphael.html Clicking on a piece of cheese (to keep the analogy going) will do "something". That bit's easy. However, I'd like the user to be able to drag their finger around the 'cheese board', firing a new event (touchesMovedOver?) every time they their finger moves over a new piece of cheese. But I can't figure out how to do it since there's no 'mouseOver' equivalent for touch interfaces. If the whole thing was made of squares, I could have created some sort of 'rectContainsPoint' method to be called for every 'touchesMoved', but that approach wouldn't work here. If anyone has any idea about how something like this could be achieved, I'd love to hear it.

• Passing big multi-dimensional array to function in C

  Hi, I'm having trouble passing a big array to a function in C. I declare: int image[height][width][3]={}; where height and width can be as big as 1500. And when I call: foo((void *)image,height,width); which is declared as follows: int *foo(const int *inputImage, int h, int w); I get segmentation fault error. What's strange is that if my values are: height=1200; width=290; theres no problem, but when they're: height=1200; width=291; i get the mentioned error. At 4 bytes per integer with both height and width of 1500 (absolute worst case) the array size would be of 27MB which imo isn't that big and shouldn't really matter because I'm only passing a pointer to the first element of the array. Any advice?

• mouseover detection in NSTableView's NSCell?

  I am wanting to change the text background color on a tableview's cell when it is hovered upon, similar to how AddressBook "highlights" the label of a contact's element when you mouseover the label names. However I cannot figure out how to accomplish... detecting a mouseover on a particular NSCell and... After detecting the cell his hovered upon, highlighting the text in that cell (not highlighting the entire row as if the user selected that row) As NSCell is not a subclass of NSView this seems to be a very difficult task. Any example of this or explanation on how this might be done would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
