• Oracle Trigger to persist value

  I have a column that I need to be able to guarantee never gets set to anything other than "N" - I thought a trigger would be the perfect solution for this, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it so that anytime the column gets set to something other than "N" I reset it back to "N" Any pointers? EDIT: I wouldn't want to do a constraint because the application that will potentially change it to Y is outside of my control and I don't want it to be getting errors when it sets it to Y, I just want to passively set it back to N without fanfare.

• Evaluate dynamically constructed JSP at runtime

  I have a requirement where in the JSP page itself is created by the user and stored in the database. When viewing results we need to render this JSP to the client, evaluating all tags inside this JSP. I am aware that it is doable as OpenCMS and Blogger both implement this functionality. But, I just can't find the right way. Any pointers on how to do this? [Added] Note: I cannot write a temporary file on disk for the purpose :(

• How to set up Mercurial with ssl/security

  I've been following the hginit.com tutorial on how to use mercurial. Everything is going fine except it uses push_ssl=False. This does not work for my situation because I want pushes (and pulls if possible) to be secure. All the tutorials I've been able to find also use push_ssl=False. Can anyone give me pointers on how to set up ssl/security for Mercurial? Thanks.

  I'm trying to get Cruisecontrol.NET running with Server 2008/IIS7 and when I try and navigate to the dashboard I get the following error: HTTP Error 404.17 - Not Found The requested content appears to be script and will not be served by the static file handler. I'm a bit lost in IIS7 so it could be something pretty straightforward. They (cc.net) do some funny stuff with http handlers in the web.config which may be related to the problem: Anyone have any pointers?

Is it possible to register a user with a username/password and authenticate him/her with that username/password without that user having a Google account?   Unlike Java, Perl uses reference count for garbage collection. I have tried searching some previous questions which speak about C++ RAII and smart pointers and Java GC but have not understood how Perl deals with the circular referencing problem. Can anyone explain how Perl's garbage collector deals with circular references? Is there any way to reclaim circular referenced memory which are no longer used by the program or does Perl just ignores this problem altogether?
