• Adding padding to HTML elements - IE, FF, Chrome etc.

  Hello I've a doubt. Lets consider that we have a div of width 200px. If i add the following the style style="padding-left:10px; padding-right:10px" to the element what happens actually? Will the total width of the div increases to 220px with 10px at the left (for left padding), original width 200px at the middle and 10px at the right (for right padding)? Or will it takes the padding space from the 200px and becomes (10px + 180px + 10px)? Does the above rendering differs for each browser (especially IE and FF)? Thank you NLV

• Keep a Google Maps v3 Map Hidden, show when needed

  Is there a way of preventing Google Maps (JS, v3) of being displayed from the get-go ? I do some pre-processing and would like to show my 'Loading' spinner until everything is good to go (more eloquently put, hide the map -- e.g. the container div -- until all preprocessing is complete -- at which point, show the map). Hooking to the map's 'idle' event doesn't help that much, since the map is already displayed when this event hits. I know that the container div gets inline-styled by GMaps after loading, my first idea is to clear out the style attr (whilst listening to 'idle'), but it would be interesting to see if there is a way of creating the map and not displaying it until all pre-processing is done. Maybe by using an argument to the new google.maps.Map constructor, or a MapOption ? Any thoughts on this ? Thank you in advance !

Instead, if I use: return File(Encoding.UTF8.GetBytes(reportPath), "text/plain", "Report.csv"); I get path to the file upon ajax execution in the target div. When I use return File(reportPath, "text/plain", "Report.csv"); I get content of the file in the target div. Any thoughts ?   Hi. I have a table with some columns. Something like this: tr1td1 one remove button tr1td2 one remove button ... The table has the size of the div#outer When I click remove button I remove with jquery the entire column . In Firefox everything's fine the table's columns resize to fill the div but in Internet Explorer the table's columns remain just as they are. It's like the browser doesn't refresh the css style. Because if I refresh the page the table looks just as it shoud be. Any ideas?

  I am showing 6 posts on one page. On the 7th post, pagination occurs on so on. goal: If there is more than one page (page 1, 2, 3, etc..), JavaScript is to add a specific div element. If there are only 6 posts or less, no pagination occurs, no div element is added. The number of posts to show: $showposts = get_query_var('showposts'); The current post number I can keep track of: $post_count++; Problem is I can keep track of posts 1-6 but how to tell if if it goes over to 7 and starts pagination? I thought there was a global variable that returns if pagination occurs, but I can't seem to find it. (I know there is global to detect pagination via <!--nextpage--> but so far I can't find it's equivalent for index.php).

  I'm wanting to be able to create a banner of floating images based on what are uploaded via users. The tool needs to have images of 50x50 and 100x100.   Not sure why my code is defaulting to this elif. But it's never getting to the else statement. Even going as far as throwing index out of bound errors in the last elif. Please disregard my non use of regex. It wasn't allowed for this homework assignment. The problem is the last elif before the else statement.
