Deleting SQLite rows automatically/periodically

Hi guys! So, i have a application that displays tasks and i created an option in the Settings menu that lets you choose in how many days all (Never, 10 days, 20 days or 30 days) these tasks should be automatically deleted. So when i open up the app there will be a method that will be called and check if theres any tasks to be deleted. I did that to challenge myself, but i'm hitting the wall with my head and i cant come up with something. So here i am in need of help! A little more information: i was trying to do something with java/android code, but from past searches i saw people dealing with it using SQL functions. Is it better? Thanks in advance guys!

The only thing it does is receives incoming calls and executes a Perl script. No outgoing calls, no incoming calls to an actual phone, no phones registered with Asterisk. It seems like there should be an easy way to block all unauthorized registration attempts, but I have struggled with this for a long time. It seems like there should be a more effective way to prevent these attempts from even getting far enough to reach my Asterisk logs. Some setting I could turn on/off that doesn't allow registration attempts at all or something. Is there any way to do this? Also, am I correct in assuming that the "Registration from ..." messages are likely people attempting to get access to my Asterisk server (probably to make calls on my account)? And what's the difference between those messages and the "Sending fake auth rejection ..." messages? Further detail: I know that the "Registration from ..." lines are intruders attempting to get access to my Asterisk server. With Fail2Ban set up, these IPs are banned after 5 attempts (for some reason, one got 6 attempts, but w/e). But I have no idea what the "Sending fake auth rejection ..." messages mean or how to stop these potential intrusion attempts. As far as I can tell, they have never been successful (haven't seen any weird charges on my bills or anything). Here's what I have done: Set up hardware firewall rules as shown below. Here, xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP address of the server, yy.yy.yy.yy is the IP address of our facility, and aa.aa.aa.aa, bb.bb.bb.bb, and cc.cc.cc.cc are the IP addresses that our VoIP provider uses. Help replace this SQL cursor with better code

Can anyone give me a hand improving the performance of this cursor logic from SQL 2000. It runs great in SQl2005 and SQL2008, but takes at least 20 minutes to run in SQL 2000. BTW, I would never choose to use a cursor, and I didn't write this code, just trying to get it to run faster. Android PCM Bytes

Hi I am using the AudioRecord class to analize raw pcm bytes as it comes in the mic. So thats working nicely. Now i need convert the pcm bytes into decibel. I have a formula that takes sound presure in Pa into db. db = 20 * log10(Pa/ref Pa) So the question is the bytes i am getting from audiorecorder from the buffer what is it is it amplitude pascal sound pressure or what. I tried to putting the value into te formula but it comes back with very hight db so i do not think its right thanks

Cocoa Core Data - Efficient Related Entities Counts

I am working on my first iPhone application and I've hit a wall. I'm trying to develop a 'statistics' page for a three entity relationship. My entities are the following: Department - Name, Address, Building, etc. People - Name, Gender (BOOL), Phone, etc If I have fetched a specific department how do I filter those results and only return people that are Male (Gender == 0)? If I do NSLog(@"%d", [department.people count]); I get the correct number of people in that department so I know I'm in the neighborhood. I know I could re-fetch and modify the predicate each time but with 20+ stats in my app that seems inefficient. Thanks for any advice!

When using GenericGenerator to generate unique identifiers, do Hibernate session methods update() and saveOrUpdate() always insert instead of update table rows, even when the given object has an existing identifier (where the identifier is also the table primary key)? Maven 2.1.0 not passing on system properties to Java virtual machine

We use the command line to pass on system properties to the Java virtual machine when running our Hudson builds on a Linux box. It used to work quite well in 2.0.9 by since we upgraded to 2.1.0 it has stopped working altogether. The system properties just never make it to the Java virtual machine. I have created a small test project and indeed it does not work at all. I have attached it in case you want to give it a go. This should work just fine with Maven 2.0.9: mvn2.0.9 -Dsystem.test.property=test test But this will fail: mvn2.1 -Dsystem.test.property=test test The Java code simply does this assertTrue( System.getProperty("system.test.property") != null); , Apr 20, 2009; 12:44pm edward eric pedersson

.NET Data Adapter Timeout SP Issue

We have a SQL Server stored procedure that runs fine in SQL Manager directly, does a rather large calculation but only takes 50-10 seconds max to run. However when we call this from the .NET app via a data adapter it times out. The timeout however happens before the timeout period should, we set it to 60 seconds and it still times out in about 20 seconds or less. I've Googled the issue and seen others note issues where a SP works fien directly but is slow via a data adpater call. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

Struggling with the following SQL problem Assume a three dimensional table with entries (h,t,q) 1,A,20 1,A,10 1,B,5 2,A,10 2,B,3 2,B,8 3,C,50 4,A,10 etc. I would like to extract 1,30 2,11 3,50 etc. group by first element and then return the maximum q value of same type, i.e. for header number 2 there are 10 As and 11 Bs, so return 11 The "max" element (A in case 1, B in case 2 and C in case 3) is irrelevant, I just need to get out the header and that maximum value. This shouldnt be too tricky, but cant get it to work. Using MS Access, but can use SQL within.

My parents have had a business for 20 years and have finally decided to get a website! As im studying IT and Business i said id get it done for them. Rather than design it from scratch i used a template which i bought from themeforest.net (awesome template!) and yesterday a friend mentioned in passing using word press as a CMS which i had never heard of before, and he left before i could ask any questions. SO basically i have a site working on my computer and i have no idea how to get it live as a .com or .com.au, so far as i can see wordpress is a blog with .wordpress.com which isnt what im looking for. I am using a library (DLL) that uses the Oracle.DataAccess DLL to connect to the database. I am doing in in C# .NET framework 3.5 When I attempt to compile, the compilation takes place, but the executable throws this error message. Could not load file or assembly 'Oracle.DataAccess, Version=2.111.7.20, Culture= neutral, PublicKeyToken=89b483f429c47342' or one of its dependencies. An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format. Is there some way to get around this? What could be causing this to happen?

Efficient way to create/unpack large bitfields in C?

I have one microcontroller sampling from a lot of ADC's, and sending the measurements over a radio at a very low bitrate, and bandwidth is becoming an issue. Right now, each ADC only give us 10 bits of data, and its being stored in a 16-bit integer. Is there an easy way to pack them in a deterministic way so that the first measurement is at bit 0, second at bit 10, third at bit 20, etc? To make matters worse, the microcontroller is little endian, and I have no control over the endianness of the computer on the other side.

MySQL Column Value Pivot

I have a MySQL InnoDB table laid out like so: id (int), run_id (int), element_name (varchar), value (text), line_order, column_order `MyDB`.`MyTable` ( `id` bigint(20) NOT NULL, `run_id` int(11) NOT NULL, `element_name` varchar(255) NOT NULL, `value` text, `line_order` int(11) default NULL, `column_order` int(11) default NULL It is used to store data generated by a Java program that used to output this in CSV format, hence the line_order and column_order. Lets say I have 2 entries (according to the table description): 1,1,'ELEMENT 1','A',0,0 2,1,'ELEMENT 2','B',0,1 I want to pivot this data in a view for reporting so that it would look like more like the CSV would, where the output would look this: --------------------- |ELEMENT 1|ELEMENT 2| --------------------- | A | B | --------------------- The data coming in is extremely dynamic; it can be in any order, can be any of over 900 different elements, and the value could be anything. The Run ID ties them all together, and the line and column order basically let me know where the user wants that data to come back in order.

Given a set of databases how can one you get information on a book with given price first (which consist of the average of a hidden list of prices coming from different web site) and followed by an optional second option that shows the list of the different web site with their page? To take an example given a query for ISBN 9785554443331 - it returns "Chemistry the central science 11 edition" : new:$50 used good condition:$35 used poor condition:$20 If the return does not match with our product list an option to "click here to visit our partner" appears and which returns: Atextbook: $10 Btextbook: $10 Ctextbook: $9 Dtextbook: $8.50 I understand that the first search would be done simultaneous on the web and our database to determine whether or not we have the book and the web to get the average of the price of a given list of web site. Extended with advice: Moving block wont work in Javascript

Hello Note: this is an extension of a question I just asked, i have made the edits & taken the advice but still no luck I am trying to make a webpage where when you click a link, the link moves diagonally every 100 milliseconds. So I have my Javascript, but right now when I click the link nothing happens. I have run my code through JSLint (therefore changed comaprisions to === not ==, thats weird in JS?). Why does my program crash when given negative values?

Alright, I am very confused, so I hope you friends can help me out. I'm working on a project using Cocos2D, the most recent version (.99 RC 1). I make some player objects and some buttons to change the object's life. But the weird thing is, the code crashes when I try to change their life by -5. Or any negative value for that matter, besides -1. It works for all of the buttons except the -5 one. And then, it gets to: NSLog(@"we change the life by %d.", [lifeChange integerValue]); And it crashes at that statement. It only crashes when given anything less than -1. -1 works, but nothing smaller does. Here is the code in the CustomCCNode Class, "changeLife" that is being called. - (void)changeLife:(int)lifeChange { NSLog(@"change life in Custom Class was called"); NSLog(@"wtf is lifechange: %d", lifeChange); life += lifeChange; lifeString = [[NSString alloc] initWithFormat:@"%d",life]; [text setString:lifeString]; } Straight forward, but when the NSnumber is -5, it doesn't even get called, it crashes at the NSlog statement. So... what's up with that?
