  • ipod app replacement-in-a-tab?

    With the new media-library capabilities in the 3.0 SDK, I'd like to have a tab in my application to control the music that's playing. Not just pause and play (i'm aware that pressing the home button twice brings up controls for this), but also the ability to browse and queue albums/artists/songs/playlists. Basically a copy of the ipod app functionality. Any chance someone has already done this and made it freely available?

  • Page Fault Interrupt Problems

    This is a statement referring to problem caused by page fault:(from Silberschatz 7th ed P-310 last para) 'We cant simply restart instructions when instruction modifies several different location Ex:when a instruction moves 256 bytes from source to dest and either src or dest straddles on page boundary , then,after a partial move, if a page fault occurs, 'we can't simply restart the instructions' My question is Why not? Simply restart the instruction again do the same copy after page is in. Is there any problem in it?

  • Flex, continuous scanning stream (from socket). Did I miss something using yywrap()?

    Working on a socketbased scanner (continuous stream) using Flex for pattern recognition. Flex doesn't find a match that overlaps 'array bounderies'. So I implemented yywrap() to setup new array content as soon yylex() detects < (it will call yywrap). No success so far.     So, I am adapting some code I found online to suit my needs. However, my set_pixel function has two more parameters. Since there are lots of calls to this function even doing a quick paste over would be very tedious. So, I thought this would be a good time for me to learn some simple regular expressions. So, I have calls of this type: set_pixel(arg1, arg2); which I want to change to something like: set_pixel(arg1, arg2, arg3, arg4); Note: arg1 and and 2 should be preserved, whereas arg3 and arg4 are most of the time the same. How can I achieve this?

  • "Send it to a friend" button on a webpage

    Hey, How often do we see stuff like "Send this page to a friend" on a webpages? Well, I see them quite often. My question is, how do you guys see it's effectiveness? If I hit a webpage that's interesting, and I think my friend would enjoy it, I can just copy the URL from my browser bar, paste it into the email and press "Send" button. In my opinion, it's usually faster and less mistake-aware then the button/link like this on the webpage. In addition, I'm not really sure what this website does with the emails I enter there - don't they store it and then sell for $1/100 addresses to spammers? My question is - when you design a website, do you put such links on the pages (it's often seen on sites with some news/articles)? Does it even make sense?

  • Simple stream read/write question in java

    Hi, I'm trying to upload a file via URLConnection, but i need to read/write it as a binary file without any encoding changes. So i've tried to read byte[] array from FileInputStream, but now i have an issue. The PrintWriter object i use for outputing to the server does not allow me to do writer.write(content) (where content is of type byte[]). How can i fix this? Or is there another way to quickly copy binary data from a FileInputStream to a PrintWriter? Thank you

  • problem in playing mp4 video in safari

    I have a particular link to a video file in server. when i load the safari through [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://mydomain/category/2.mp4"]]; simulator pops out an alert message saying that "Cannot Play MOVIE.. Server is not correctly configured"....... Even I tried using the mediaPlayer framework - MPMoviePlayerController and loading it with th e url-"http://mydomain/category/2.mp4" but it didnt play out. when i paste the same url in the 10.5 leopards safari it plays out smoothly.. What may be the reason behind it.?

So far I only know how to call R via shell with the -f or -e option, but in both cases a new R-Runtime will process the R-Script or R-Command I passed to it.   • Programmatically refresh Windows Explorer (not IE) window

    I'm using a Windows Service to do some directory cleaning (implementing a FileSystemWatcher). The problem I'm having is that sometimes, when several files in a directory are deleted, one of the files still shows in the Explorer window. If you refresh the window the file disappears. Similarly, if you right-click on it or try to copy it, a pop-up informs that it no longer exists. So what I'd like to know is: is there any way I can programmatically refresh the view of the Explorer window?

It works fine for me on dev environment, by placing the plist file in location /Library/LaunchAgents/.To distribute and install this on other laptops, I created the package using package maker tool. As part of installation process I want to change permission of the plist file and copy it to /Library/LaunchAgents location. Could any one tell me how can i achieve this ?   • Does a Distributed Version Control System really have no centralised repository?

    It might seem a silly question, but how do you get a working drectory set up without a server to check out from? And how does a business keep a safe backed up copy of the repo? I assume then there must be a central repo... but then how exactly is it 'distributed'? I always thought of a server-client (SVN) Vs peer-2-peer (GIT) distinction, but I don't believe that can be correct unless tools like GIT are dependent on torrent-style technology?

  • Getting scp's status bar to appear in a Java window

    I'm writing a program that uses scp to copy files in a bigger java program. As it stands now, the program freezes up while the scp is copying the file, which can take a few minutes, so I'd like to be able to display the progress of the scp or at the very least get the terminal window with the scp progress to show up! Any suggestions?
