  • How do I clone an OpenLDAP database

    I know this is more like a serverfault question than a stackoverflow question, but since serverfault isn't up yet, here I go: I'm supposed to move an application from one redhat server to another, and without very good knowledge of the internal workings of the application, how would I move the OpenLDAP database from the one machine to the other, with schemas and all. What files would I need to copy over? I believe the setup is pretty standard.

  • mysqldump problem with case sensitivity? Win->linux

    When i dump a table with uppercase letters using mysqldump it comes out as lower case in my dump.sql file. I found a report here in 2006, almost 4 years old http://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=19967 A solution here suggest making linux insensitive. I rather not if possible. Whats the easiest way to copy a win32 db into linux?

    I was wondering how one might extract the current state of the registry, of Windows XP, in C or C++? (While the OS is active). I been trying to use BackupRead() on the registry-files, but it is impossible to CreateFile() them. I managed to create a Shadow Copy of the registry-files, but it wasn't the current state of the registry. Would appreciate any hint... (I know ERUNT is able to do it) Thanks, Doori Bar

    I am pretty sure this is not doable, but I will go ahead and cross my fingers and ask. I am trying to add a method to a built in class. I want this method to be callable by all of the built in class's subclasses. Specifically: I have a JButton, a JTextPane, and other JComponents. I want to be able to pass in a JDom Element instead of a Rectangle to setBounds(). My current solution is to extend each JComponent subclass with the desired methods, but that is a LOT of duplicate code. Is there a way I can write the following method just one time, and have it callable on all JComponent objects? Or is it required that I extend each subclass individually, and copy and paste the method below? public void setBounds(Element element) { this.setBounds(Integer.parseInt(element.getAttribute( "x").toString()), Integer.parseInt(element .getAttribute("y").toString()), Integer .parseInt(element.getAttribute("width").toString()), Integer.parseInt(element.getAttribute("height") .toString())); }

    I'm implementing GIT for web developemnt, and I want to have the working copy repository that everybody pushes to automatically reflect the latest commit in it (since it is online for everyone on the team to see as a testing site). Right now, you have to run "git reset --hard HEAD" on the repository after somebody pushes to it in order to be up to date.

    I have the following array that I get as an output from facebook: http://www.paste.to/v/1jntlnml With the following code: $stream = $facebook->api_client->stream_get('',128342905144,'0','0',30,'','','',''); foreach($stream as $wallpost) { echo '<pre>'; print_r($wallpost); echo '</pre>'; } So I get the data that I need, but I want to call the individual variables within this array. For example, echo out the [message] for each post. Since it only loops once, I cant echo $wallpost['message'] or anything similar. any idea?

I can make all the changes in a copy and then remake those changes in the live version. That doesn't make sense. Is there a way to change a server name to an existing server?     I would like to create a copy of a database with approximately 40 InnoDB tables and around 1.5GB of data with mysqldump and MySQL 5.1. What are the best parameters (ie: --single-transaction) that will result in the quickest dump and load of the data? As well, when loading the data into the second DB, is it quicker to: 1) pipe the results directly to the second MySQL server instance and use the --compress option or 2) load it from a text file (ie: mysql < my_sql_dump.sql)

But I need to download this remotely or through a ftp program every day as well so I have a physical copy of it on my home hard drive, is this possible? So after changing my domain destination to ./Permias, I moved everything inside the Permias folder. But now when I tried to access the site it is as it's not there. What am I doing wrong?     Im setting up a web form, and I'm trying to have it where visitors can paste their resumes into a text area. Then I want to email the info using php mail(). But the resume info is just stored in the variable as one long string with no formatting. Is there a way I can send the pasted resume text to the client in the resume format? Maintaining all the line breaks and stuff? He wants to avoid having people upload resumes.

  • Changing the block size of a dfs file in Hadoop

    I found that my map tasks is currently inefficient when parsing one particular set of files (total 2 TB). I'd like to change the block size of files in the Hadoop dfs (from 64MB to 128 MB). I can't find how to do it in the documentation for only one set of files and not the entire cluster, does anyone know the command that would change the block size when I upload it (ie copy from local to the dfs)? Thanks!

  • Can I define which characters are allowed to 'break' a word?

    Hey guys, I'm showing up veeeery long URLs in my Safari extension. Obviously, they can't fit on a single line. Currently, word breaking rules make it so most URLs are on two lines: the first one is rather short and ends with the ? symbol, and the other is ridiculously long and contains all the rest of the GET parameters. I'd like to make it so words also break on the & symbol, without screwing up copy-paste if possible. I've tried to replace every & with &\u00ad (& + the soft hyphen character), but it's kind of weird to see the hyphen after the & when there really isn't any in the URL. I thought there was something in store with CSS3 for that kind of problem, but I can't find it. Any suggestion welcome, as long as it works with Safari.
