  • NK2 files doesn't keep the email addresses in memory

    When I send an email to someone outside the firm, when I only type the first letters of its name (Contact), I get the auto-suggest of the "Already-sent" users. So now, since a few days, the emails are not kept in memory by Outlook (NK2 file). I see that that file is only 2kb and on my old machine, it's almost 200kb (So a lot more email addresses kept in memory) Should I just rebuilt the Outlook profile or the whole Windows Profile? A simple Outlook reinstall or to build a new PC?

    The company that I am working for is embarking on replacing the current locally developed NIS/YP structure with LDAP. We already have AD in house for the Windows stuff and would like to consider using an AD system. The AD people are quite restrictive and would not support extensive modifications. We have needs to have the replacement include the support the full capabilities of the NIS/YP suite include netgroups, login restrictions to specific servers for specific users or groups of users, consistent passwords between the *nix and Windows environment,etc. Our environment is a mixture of Linux (suse, RH, Debian), Sun, IBM, HP and MPRAS as well as a NETAPP. So whatever we use must be totally inclusive to all environment. We have looked at Likewise, but our management wants other alternatives to compare with. What other things should I be looking at and what is you assessment of the alternative? Thanks

  • Roaming profile is not loaded when user's password expires and is changed

    Our password policy makes users change pw every 30 days, when this happens they sometimes find they are logged on with a local profile and none of their settings. This generally only happens when the PC was slow at logging onto the network, but in this case I know it had plenty of time to do so. I can't work out why this is happening, is it related to a slow link?

  • How can I get the Android SDK working with Eclipse in Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit?

    I would like to tinker with the Android software development kit, and I have found out that it only support 32-bit versions of the Java Platform and Eclipse. I installed the ia32 Sun Java runtime environment and the 32-bit version of Eclipse. I also used the update-alternatives program to make a java 32-bit preference. Both of these seem to run fine. I also installed the Eclipse android plugins, but my problem lies in the SDK downloaded from Google. When I go to Eclipse preferences and try to tell it about my Android SDK location, there are no SDK targets listed. Has anyone else gotten this running on Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit? Thanks.

    How can I make a bootable backup of my Mac's internal hard drive to be restored using Disk Utility, without formatting my external destination drive as HFS+ (it's FAT32, of course)? Time Machine and SuperDuper both require that the volume where the backup is saved be HFS+ formatted. This looks helpful: http://developer.apple.com/macosx/backuponmacosx.html But it doesn't explain how to use FAT32 disk.

I have Apache and Entropy php5 installed, when i write my applications, some pages wont run when php has errors, however these are not recorded on a log file, I created one php_errors.log and entered the following on the php.ini file error_log = /usr/local/php5/logs/php_errors.log However errors are not written to this file and i have log_errors = true What could be the problem

How can I incorporate the yes into this?   • Gmail Notifier add-on stopped working [closed]

    Possible Duplicate: FireFox Gmail Notifier Plugin? Any body else have this problem? For the last 2-3 days it's not been working. I thought it might have been caused by another add-on, either a new one or updated one, so I disabled each one individually till I did them all. No luck.   • What media formats do I have to use to prevent Zune from having to convert media for Windows Phone?

    Zune is able to accept pretty much every media format under the sun, or at least can once someone's installed something like the KLite Codec Pack. However, it does do conversion on your behalf to a more supported format when you try to sync the contents over the Windows Phone. I'd like to not have to wait for the really slow process of doing the conversion... how do I know which media format to download? (For example, there are 5 media formats available for each of the MIX sessions....)

    Since a couple of days my start menu has a big blank space and just does not collapse. I played around with Store and display recently opened programs in the Start menu as well as Number of recent programs to display as is depicted at sevenforums.com. Note that doing so clears your list of recently opened programs. Anyway, my start menu still looks like: At least the space marked with a red rectangle should collapse.

  • Replace a SQL Server query with another before execution

    I am trying to work with a legacy application in SQL Server which at some point does the following query SELECT serverproperty('EngineEdition') as sqledition The server replies with 2 (which is the correct edition), but the application closes since the app demands to be run over SQL Server Express which is 4. We don't have access to the code and the developer is long gone. Is there a way to configure SQL Server so that when this query is received it simply returns 4 and not the value of the property?     Hi, I need a webserver (lamp) running inside a virtual machine (#1) running as a service (#2) in headless mode (#3) with part or the whole filesystem encrypted (#4). The virtual machine will be started with no user intervention and provide access to a web application for users in the host machine. Points #1,#2 and #3 are checked and proved to be working fine with Sun VirtualBox, so my question is for #4: Can I encrypt the all filesystem and still access the webserver (using a browser) or will grub ask me for a password? If encrypting the all filesystem is not an option, can I encrypt only /home and /var/www ? will apache/php be able to use files in /home or /var/www without asking for a password or mounting these partitions manually?   • Installing Solaris 10 on sunT5220 - ZFS/UFS raid 10?

    I am in a bit of a time crunch, and need to get two T5220's built. We were very happy to see two boxes in our aged inventory which had 8 HDD's each, but didn't think to check if they were running hardware RAID or not. Turns out that they aren't. When we install, we are given the option to use UFS or ZFS, but when we select a place to install we're only given the option of installing on one single disk. Is it possible to create a software raid 10 across all of the disks and install the OS on that? Sorry if any lingo is wrong, I'm not really a Sun guy and our guru is out of town right now. Any help would be really appreciated! Note: Most of the guides I've found on google entail installing the OS on a single disk, and then creating a separate RAID 10 on other disks. We would actually like the OS to reside on the RAID 10. Hope that clarifies things.

  • Sleep uses more power than I expect

    When my new Dell laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium and 4GB RAM sleeps (not when it hibernates), it will drain the battery overnight. My old Dell laptop with XP Pro (2 GB RAM) could sleep for days without running out of battery. Is it normal that Windows 7 sleep is this power-hungry or should I troubleshoot my new machine? Edit: I know how to set the different sleep/hibernate settings. That is not what I'm asking.
