• Using Jquery to load Facebook fb:profile-pic - not working in IE

  Hey.... I followed the tips given on Loading Facebook fb:profile via ajax In my app, I am basically loading more comments posted by the user via Jquery and along with each comment showing the user's picture using the fb:profile-pic tag This is a sample of how I'm building the string via Jquery newcomment += "<fb:profile-pic uid='"+data.fb_userid+"' height='50' width='50' /"; newcomment += ""+data.user_name+": "; newcomment += ""+data.user_comment+": "; $("#morecomments").append(newcomment); So the profile-pic was not being displayed - After reading the above link, I added if ( FB.XFBML.Host.parseDomTree ) setTimeout( FB.XFBML.Host.parseDomTree, 0 ); The weird thing now is - its working in Chrome and Firefox but not in IE Cant figure out why.   Typical way of creating a CSV string (pseudocode): create a CSV container object (like a StringBuilder in C#) Loop through the strings you want to add appending a comma after each one After the loop, remove that last superfluous comma. • Delphi 7: how to execute shell command and check the result?

  I'm using Delphi 7 and can't predict the target version of Windows. I need to create a database (probably MySql, but might be something else) and define some table structures. I do not need to populate any data. Unfortunately, all of the ADO components seem to expect that a database already exists and they will then allow you to manipulate it. So, since it's only a few simple commands, I thought that I might as well use ShellExectute(). Agree? Disagree? Can anyone give me a sample code which will attempt to run "MySql --version" and let me check the result? After that I should be able to figure it out for myself. Thanks.

• Differences Between Java and HTML5 -- Squeezed Background

  I noticed some (slightly disturbing) differences between the HTML5 and the Java versions of the playN showcase (source). (I just downloaded everything yesterday, so presumably I'm running the latest samples.) Specifically, two flaws I noticed in the HTML5 version: The text on the buttons is quite blurry (not anti-aliased, but actually blurry) compared to the Java version The background in the "Swirl" sample is restricted to one corner of the app; it doesn't cover the entire visible space the way it does in the Java version. Are these bugs, or the expected behaviour?

• Fancy Box doesnt work please help

  I recently came across fancy box located here, I've followed every step in the instructions perfectly, but it doesn't work, anyone know what might be the problem? • How can I use a Shader in XNA to color single pixels?

  I have a standard 800x600 window in my XNA project. My goal is to color each individual pixel based on a rectangle array which holds boolean values. Currently I am using a 1x1 Texture and drawing each sprite in my array. I am very new to XNA and come from a GDI background, so I am doing what I would have done in GDI, but it doesn't scale very well. I have been told in another question to use a Shader, but after much research, I still haven't been able to find out how to accomplish this goal. My application loops through the X and Y coordinates of my rectangular array, does calculations based on each value, and reassigns/moves the array around. At the end, I need to update my "Canvas" with the new values. A smaller sample of my array would look like: 0,0,0,0,0,0,0 0,0,0,0,0,0,0 0,0,0,0,0,0,0 1,1,1,1,1,1,1 1,1,1,1,1,1,1 How can I use a shader to color each pixel?

• Apache deflate with chucked encoding

  I'm expiriencing some problem with one of my data source services. As it says in HTTP response headers it's running on Apache-Coyote/1.1. Server gives responses with Transfer-Encoding: chunked, here sample response: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Apache-Coyote/1.1 Content-Type: text/xml;charset=utf-8 Transfer-Encoding: chunked Date: Tue, 30 Mar 2010 06:13:52 GMT And problem is when I'm requesting server to send gzipped request it often sends not full response. I recieve response, see that last chunk recived, but then after ungzipping I see that response is partial. So my question is: is it common apache issue? maybe one of it's mod_deflate plugins or something? Ask questions if you need more info. Thanks.

  hi, I've a problem to configure database settings in Drupal. I will propose here some sample data: Database Mysql: Database: databaseName User: user Password: password Server: server.com Server Choice: mysqldb2 (in phpmyadmin I have this option and I can choose between mysqldb1 and mysqldb2 to access to the mysql server) The error message I get is: The mysql error was: Access denied for user: 'user@localhost' (Using password: YES). I've tried the following lines in settings.php but I always get the same error message: $db_url = 'mysql://user:password@localhost/databaseName'; $db_url = 'mysql://user:password@localhost/databaseName/mysqldb2'; The user and password work in phpmyadmin so I'm sure they are correct. thanks

Everything worked as advertised, which has not been my experience with a lot of Facebook and Twitter sample code that I have been working with recently. What I am trying to figure out is: How do I tweet using this library? I am currently planning to implement this in ASP MVC, but my initial thoughts is that the presentation platform doesn't matter all that much at the level I'm looking at.

• IOKit header assert.h gone? [answered]

  I want to get the hardware address of my mac's ethernet card. In all samples I saw in include on IOKit/assert.h . Which doesn't seem to exist on my system. GCC throws an error saying he doesn't know the type IOEthernetAddress. Is assert.h necessary for my task? It would be great if someone coud give me a working sample. • C Differences on windows and Unix OS

  Is there any difference in C that is written in Windows and Unix. I teach C as well as C++ but some of my students have come back saying some of the sample programs does not run for them in Unix. Unix is alien for me. Unfortunately no experience with it whatsoever. All i know is to spell it. If there are any differences then i should be advising our department to invest on systems for Unix as currently there are no Unix systems in our lab. I do not want my students to feel that they have been denied or kept aloof from something.

  Hi InstallShield 10 apparently can create an installer and integrate with click once, but this feature is not active in trial version. Anyway I tried to create a click once deployment by hand (using mage) and succeed with a sample wpf application, what I want to do is click once with an installShield setup.exe file, buy it seems that it's not a .net application and I can't use it for click once. Does anyone know how installShield manages this with it's click once feature? or how can I create click once with the regular setup.exe file. Thanks.

  I'm coding a date class and am having trouble with the post-fix increment (the prefix increment seems fine). Here is the sample code: public class date { int year, month, day; public date(int d, int m, int y) { day = d; month = m; year = y; } static public date operator ++(date d) { return d.Next(d); } } The method "Next(date d)" takes a date and returns tomorrows date (I left it out for brevity). I'm to young in C# to understand why the prefix is fine but postfix increment does nothing. But remember in C++ we would have to have two methods instead of just one - for prefix and postfix increments. Also no errors or warnings on compile.

• How to make TinyMCE work inside an UpdatePanel?

  I'm trying to do something that many people seem to have been able to do but which I am unable to implement any solution. The TinyMCE control works pretty well in an asp.net form until you enclose it with an UpdatePanel, which then breaks after postback. I have tried some fixes like the RegisterClientScriptBlock method, but am still unsuccessful, I still lose the tinyMCE control after postback. Below is a full test project (VS 2008) provided with a Control outside UpdatePanel and one inside, with a button on each to generate postback. Also in the project I have a EditorTest control which include commented code of some calls I tried, in case it gives anyone any ideas. • OpenGLES rotation in fixed coordinate system

  Hi, I'm having real trouble finding out how to rotate an object arround two axes without changing axes orientation. I need only local rotation, first arround X axis and then arround Y axis(only example, it doesn't matter how many transformations arround which axes) without transforming the whole coordinate system, only the object. The problem is that if I'm using glRotatef arround X axis, the axes are rotated also and that's what I don't want. I've red bunch of articles about it but it seems I'm still missing something. Thanks for every help. To have some sample code here, it's something like this glMatrixMode(GL_MODELVIEW); glLoadIdentity(); glRotatef(rotX, 1.0f, 0.0f, 0.0f); glRotatef(rotY, 0.0f, 1.0f, 0.0f); drawObject(); but this transforms the coordinate system also.
