    I want to pass parameter from a Javascript function to another JSP page. Currently I am doing like this: function viewapplet(strPerfMonPoint) { var dateSelected = document.forms[0].hdnDateSelected.value; document.forms[0].hdnPerfMonPoint.value = strPerfMonPoint; var win; win = window.open("jsp/PopUp.jsp?GraphPerfMon="+strPerfMonPoint+"&strDateSelected="+dateSelected, strPerfMonPoint,"width=800,height=625,top=40,left=60 resizable=No"); } I added hdnPerfMonPoint hidden variable and tried to acces in PopUp.jsp using request.getparameter(hdnPerfMonPoint) but it is giving null. I want my window.open like: window.open("jsp/PopUp.jsp", strPerfMonPoint,"width=800,height=625,top=40,left=60 resizable=No"); Please suggest solution.

  • Side effects of reordering columns in PostgreSQL

    I sometimes re-order the columns in my Postgres DB. Since Postgres can only add columns at the end of tables, I end up re-ordering by adding new columns at the end of the table, setting them equal to existing columns, and then dropping the original columns. My question is: what does PostgreSQL do with the memory that's freed by dropped columns? Does it automatically re-use the memory, so a single record consumes the same amount of space as it did beforehand? But that would require a re-write of the whole table, so to avoid that, does it just keep a bunch of blank space around in each record? Thanks! ~S

    I had need of showing open file dialog in winform application. And one property of the file dialog, autoupgradeenabled which I set as a true, which is for updating the open file dialog according to operating system, like if application is running on xp then dialog is displayed different as in wista or window 7. So when I used that property as a true, and once in the machine where there was xp with 2.0 .net framework that open file dialog could not be opened. So I tried by doing it false then also it could not be opened in the machine with the xp and 2.0 framework. Then I tried by commenting that whole line means I removed that property from the code, then I tried and it was fine in xp machine with 2.0 framework. So problem is I cannot understand that why that property is not working by setting it false or true. Because by setting that property is should work in all os with all framework and dialog should be changed according to os. If not,then what is the meaning of that property ?

    I need to make my image fitting into my div, I want the picture to be only inside the div, the rest of the picture will be behind the other elements. Basically I want to achieve the same effect as here http://tommywebdesigner.com/Home%20Page.html but with the div id="background"and div id="content" i have created. As you can see first i gave margin-bottom="350px to the header in order to create a blank space, here i have the space for the img in my div id="background"which is located under (z-index: -1;) and the rest of the elements is placed over inside the the div id="content" (z-index:2;) I need now a Javascript which fit this image in the div id="background".     Hi, I use syntax like name varchar(20) NOT NULL in mysql..i have a big confusion over here. typically does it mean that this field is mandatory? but when i store a space in this field it accepts it.is it correct. its like while insert i say '".$_POST['name']."'. even if the name does not have any value query is executed. can any1 just clarify me on this ? is NULL and blank space same ?

  • Ms Excel Problem Linking Range in Source Document to Custom Function in Target Document

    I have some customer MS Excel VBA code (MS Excel 2007) that takes a range as input and then does some work on it (it is quite a large range). I want to use a separate excel document as the source of the range data. If I have both the source and target document open then the function works just fine. If I have only the target document open I get #Value! returned and stepping through in the debugger I see "Error 2023" in the data value passed in. Any ideas how I make this work without having to open both spreadsheets simultaneously?

  • Java or Python distributed compute job (on a student budget)?

    I have a large dataset (c. 40G) that I want to use for some NLP (largely embarrassingly parallel) over a couple of computers in the lab, to which i do not have root access, and only 1G of user space. I experimented with hadoop, but of course this was dead in the water-- the data is stored on an external usb hard drive, and i cant load it on to the dfs because of the 1G user space cap. I have been looking into a couple of python based options (as I'd rather use NLTK instead of Java's lingpipe if I can help it), and it seems distributed compute options look like: Ipython DISCO After my hadoop experience, i am trying to make sure i try and make an informed choice -- any help on what might be more appropriate would be greatly appreciated. Amazon's EC2 etc not really an option, as i have next to no budget.

What I want is to launch it with a url, and open in its OWN tab, and hide the url, buttons, etc. like a utility window but I do want it resizable.

I wanted to open links such as index.php?page=login to open with login.php, so I used Rewrite mode in .htaccesss, for example RewriteRule ^/*login.php$ /index.php?page=login [L] in a few pages there should be a query for errors such as RewriteRule ^/*support.php?(.+)$ /index.php?page=support&%{QUERY_STRING} [L] It works but I need to deny the main URLs so when users enters index.php?a=login manually nothing (or the main page) would show up and he should open the link only with /login.php. Is there a way to do this? A little help please...

    Hi, i'm just observing what NMAP is doing for the 3 ports it reports are open. I understand what a half-scan attack is, but what's happening doesnt make sense. NMAP is reporting ports 139 are 445 are open..... all fine. But when i look at the control bits, NMAP never sends RST once it has found out the port is open, It does this for port 135- but not 139 and 445. This is what happens: (I HAVE OMITTED THE victim's replies) Sends a 2 (SYN) Sends a 16 (ACK) Sends a 24 (ACK + PST) Sends a 16 (ACK) Sends a 17 (ACK + FIN) I dont get why NMAP doesnt 'RST' ports 139 and 445??

  • Making Swedish characters show properly in Windows Command Prompt using Python in Notepad++

I have set up Notepad++ to open the Python script in the command prompt when I press F8 but all Swedish characters looks messed up when opening in CMD but perfectly fine in e.g IDLE. This simple example code: #!/usr/bin/env python #-*- coding: UTF-8 -*- print "åäö" Looks like this. As you can see the output of the batch file I use to open Python in cmd below shows the characters correctly but not the Python script above it. How do I fix this?   • Notepad++ Question

    I would like a hotkey to Save All in Notepad++ then switch to the browser and refresh the page. I have to do this thousands of times a day and doing the Save All hotkey, then Alt-Tab to the right window, then F5 to refresh again and again, there must be a better solution? I am open to switching editors if there is another that can do this. I have tried using run commands but the problem is although it allows you to make something like [firefox.exe "current file"], if you come down to wanting to open it at a web address like localhost because it needs to run server side, then you have to manually specify the other part of the string, like [chrome.exe "custom var(web address) / filename"] and it always opens a new tab, then creates lots of clutter. Also, if you are editing an include file then it will try to open that instead of the page you want to see when you use the run command, a refresh would be the only realistic method I can think of using.

    Hi, I'm writing an app in pure C which expects two line at input: first one, which tells how big an array of int will be, and the second, which contains values, separated by space. So, for the following input 5 1 2 3 4 99 I need to create an array containing {1,2,3,4,99} Now, my question is - what is the fastest (yet easy ;)) way to do so? My problem is "how to read multiple numbers without looping through the whole string checking if it's space or a number" ? Thanks m.

    how do you store an rsa encrypted data block? the output might be significantly greater than the original input data block size, and i dont think people waste memory by padding bucket loads of 0s in front of each data block. besides, how would they be removed? or is each block stored on new lines within the file? if that is the case, how would you tell the difference between legitimate new line and a '\n' char written into the file? what am i missing? im writing the "write to file" part in python, so maybe its one of the differences between: open(file,'w') open(file,'w+b') open(file,'wb') that i dont know. or is it something else?

  • malloc hangs in Linux

    I am using Linux on a 16 G with 2 quad core CPU. There are 8 processes which are doing some work (CPU intensive/network i/o). Out of which 4 have a memory leak (These are test conditions so no problem in having leaks here). Total space is occupied by all processes is around 15.4 G only 200 MB is free in system. Things are fine for some hours. But after that malloc hangs (for a process which doesn't have a memory leak). Its stuck for for more than 4 minutes (Note CPU is not 100% but io has gone up signficantly). Now there is no problem in the hanged process. (It has not corrupted the memory). What malloc is doing? (is it tryibg to defragment or builidng up swap space).I am using SUSE 10. Any pointers?

  • Tomcat application: Frequent OutOfMemory PermGen exception while image uploads

    Hi, I have a tomcat 6 application which I have set parameters of -Xms512m -Xmx1024m. I thought 1 GB of memory in a 4 GB RAM would be enough, but that is not the case. On application stop/start multiple times (from tomcat manager) and also on image uploads (sometimes) I run into the OutOfMemory PermGen space error and the site stops responding. Should I increase the memory still some more? Is there anything else that I can do to from the tomcat side so that it does not run into the PermGen space issue? Thanks in advance for pointers/tips etc.
