• Flowplayer RTMP streaming, mp4, Amazon Cloudfront and iPad/iPhone

  I've been working on a site where 2 video clips are streamed using Amazon Cloudfront and Flowplayer. You can see one video/page here: http://graemeclarkoration.org.au/gcorationp1.htm (works as a Highslide popup/modal window, hence the lack of adornment). While it works in all browsers and Android devices, I can't get it to work on an iPad or an iPhone; the page opens fine and the video box appears but the video never loads. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix or even why the video won't load? MTIA

• SQL Server 2008 - Search Query

  Hello, I am not a SQL Expert. I’m trying to elegantly solve a query problem that others have had to have had. Surprisingly, Google is not returning anything that is helping. Basically, my application has a “search” box. This search field will allow a user to search for customers in the system. I have a table called “Customer” in my SQL Server 2008 database. This table is defined as follows: Customer UserName (nvarchar) FirstName (nvarchar) LastName (nvarchar) As you can imagine, my users will enter queries of varying cases and probably mis-spell the customer’s names regularly. How do I query my customer table and return the 25 results that are closest to their query? I have no idea how to do this ranking and consider the three fields listed in my table. Thank you!

• SSL in overlay window for login

  HI I have to implement login over SSL in my website. for example cloginForm - this is the form https://www.myweb.com/loginProcess - this is the action which process the form -authenticates user. I am able to do this with usual web form but the problem is the overlay dialog box for login for example if I am on my website home page http://www.myweb.com - notice http and I click a login link there , it shows a small html div with login form (like a litebox).now ,as I am on a non SSL page (http) the data which I post does not get encrypted,and posted to the process action. How do I get around with this so that my overly login also becomes secure. thanks for your help in advance. :)

• Making a rectangular selection in a RichTextBox with Alt-Left-Mouse sweep?

  There are quite a few applications that allow you to select a box or rectangle of text by sweeping with mouse while the Alt key is pressed. Visual Studio 2010 does this in the code editor, for instance. Emacs does it. Winword does it. We've all seen it. It seems like there must be a standard pattern to follow to encode this behavior but I cannot seem to find it. I suspect I am not Googling with the correct keywords as all I am getting are false hits on rectangle, Alt-Left, sweep, selection, etc. I'm sure I can code it up but it would mean disabling the normal selection code used in, say, RichTextBox. And that sounds ugly, error prone and probably more work than it is worth. Anybody have a suggestion (be nice! :-) ) of how to do this or an example of how it is done?

• SqlServer2008 + expensive union

  Hi al, we have 5 tables over which we should query with user search input throughout a stored procedure. We do a union of the similar data inside a view. Because of this the view can not be materialized. We are not able to change these 5 tables drastically (like creating a 6th table that contains the similar data of the 5 tables and reference that new one from the 5 tables). The query is rather expensive / slow what are our other options? It's allowed to think outside the box. Unfortunately I cannot give more information like the table/view/SP definition because of customer confidentiality... greetings, Tim

  I am making an server control application ( simple with some buttons to start/stop the server ) And when the user wants to close the application there will be prompted an confirm box. But when I start the application and close it with the X button or with "Close Window" I will be prompted with the question until I click on no, then it will close. It's a loop and it stops when you first click on yes then on no. Can someone help me with solving this ?

  In Python, how would one find all points common to two circles? For example, imagine a Venn diagram-like intersection of two (equally sized) circles, with center-points (x1,y1) and (x2,y2) and radii r1=r2. Additionally, we already know the two points of intersection of the circles are (xi1,yi1) and (xi2,yi2). How would one generate a list of all points (x,y) contained in both circles in an efficient manner? That is, it would be simple to draw a box containing the intersections and iterate through it, checking if a given point is within both circles, but is there a better way?

• Firefox XUL toolbar with javascript to IE?

  Hi, I have developed a Firefox toolbar in XUL, which uses javascript to manipulate the DOM. I'd like to export this to IE. I know that IE doesn't support XUL, but wonder: (1) is there an easy way to use the existing javascript code for the IE toolbar as well? (2) is there a IE installer that easily creates all necessary registry values for creating a toolbar? I'd be grateful for any help. If anyone can point me to a sample IE toolbar code, with several buttons, drop-down menus and perhaps even a search box, that'll make things much easier as well. Thanks!

But i couldnt find a way to sort them, based on the language in which its localized. At present i have sorted it out based on english only.   i am writing a sendmail module to email some things to my site users. for testing it i use my own email at yahoo to receive this email. but some thing woeful happend. about 1200 sent to my email address at yahoo at a moment and yahoo sent all of them to spam box. now i can't send any email to yahoo addresses and my server gives me this message in mailq: "delivery temporarily suspended: host g.mx.mail.yahoo.com[98.137.54.238] refused to talk to me..." how can i solve this problem?? many users of my site have yahoo email address. my server uses postfix. thanks for helping .

• WCF Authentication on the Internet - HELP

  I have a WCF service using the basicHTTP binding. The service will be targeted to be deployed in production in a DMZ environment on a Windows Server 2008 64 bit running IIS 7.0 and is not in an Active Directory domain. The service will be accessed by a business partner over the Internet with SSL protection. Originally, I had built the service to use x.509 Message authentication with wsHTTPBinding and after a lot of problems I punted and decided to back up and use basicHTTP with UserName authentication. Result: same exact, obscure error message as I received with certificate mode. The service works perfectly inside our domain with the exact same authentication but as soon as I move it to the DMZ I get an error reading: "An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail". The inner exception message is: "An error occurred when verifying security for the message." • Starting synergy automatically on RHEL/CentOS

  I have a Red Had Enterprise Linux 5 and a CentOS 5 box, both of which I am trying to configure to automatically connect to a synergy server on startup. I have followed the guide at http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/autostart.html and configured them the same way I configured previous Ubuntu 7.10 boxes, and this only seems to get me half way there. Currently, synergy connects at the login screen, but once I login, it doesn't come back up. I added the following lines to /etc/gdm/{Init,PostLogin,PreSession}/Default : /usr/bin/killall synergyc sleep 1 /usr/bin/synergyc fried-chicken # Init,PreSession only All files are owned by root:root with 755 permissions, I'm just not sure what I'm missing here.

• C#: how to check and display the content of a folder?

  I'm not sure whether this topics has been disscussed before or not, but I'm not sure the exact word to search for it. What method/class should I use? The program has 3 buttons: 1) for folder browsing, 2) scan for the selected folder content, and 3) open the file. When user browse the selected folder*(1), user click scan button to scan from the first file until the last available files and listed it text box(2)* and from that user can decide whether to open the files or not*(3)*. • Arduino not able to send serial data back

  Hello everyone So i found out how to connect the arduino to my java program. But using the seriel connections dosent give any useful data back, its either in the wrong format, or just sends it as a box. I've looked at the related questions posted early in here, but none of the tips seems to help. So does anyone know how to send the data between an arduino and a computer using the serieal port? P.S I've used the sample code from the arduino.cc homepage to connect to the serial port.

• jQuery - want to get input value for submit but it gets one and repeats

  I'm trying to replace all submit buttons with a span so cufon will work. The input still needs to be there so have done some css to hide it and overlay to span on top. My issue is getting the value from the input tag is proving quite diffcult. The code below gets the first input value (being 'search' from the search box at the top of the page, and then puts that value into all the spans, even for buttons that have different values (eg: send). This is a .NET page so the whole page is wrapped in one form tag. • Quick example of multi-column results with jQueryUI's new Autocomplete?

  I just found out that the jQueryUI now has it's own built-in auto-complete combo box. Great news! Unfortunately, the next thing I found is that making it multi-column doesn't seem nearly that simple (at least via documentation). There is a post here where someone mentions that they've done it (and even gives code), but I'm having trouble understanding what some of their code is doing.   I got dpm($form) working. Nice! This is much better way to view data. I am still trying to figure out where stuff is coming from eg: location longitude & latitude. The word 'longitude' is referenced in 20 different places. I thought this was a likely place to isolate text box for this input field. dpm($form['#field_info']['field_store_latitude']['location_settings']['form']['fields']); Any tips on how to track down individual input elements?

• Service Application too visible

  Working on a service application in Delphi 5 that is intended to run on Windows XP - 7. Most of the application is coming together nicely, but I'm running into one issue. Part of this service application is a form that displays data occasionally (similar to the slider box Avast uses to let you know its updated). When the service shows the form, the form displays on the taskbar, but we don't want it to. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to hide the form's button on the taksbar? None of the standard methods I've found for regular applications have worked so far. Thanks.

• Linenumber for Exception thrown in runtime-compiled DotNET code

  Not quite the same as this thread, but pretty close. My program allows people to enter some VB or C# code which gets compiled, loaded and executed at runtime. My CompilerParams are: CompilerParameters params = new CompilerParameters(); params.GenerateExecutable = false; params.GenerateInMemory = true; params.IncludeDebugInformation = false; params.TreatWarningsAsErrors = false; params.WarningLevel = 4; When this code throws an exception I'd like to be able to display a message box that helps users debug their code. The exception message is easy, but the line-number is where I got stuck. I suspect that in order to get at the line number, I may need to drastically change the CompilerParameters and perhaps even the way these dlls get stored/loaded. Does anyone know the least steps needed to get this to work?

  When dealing with random memory overwrites, in MSVC it is possible to validate the state of the heap at various points with a call to _CrtCheckMemory, and know with at least a small level of confidence that the code up until the check was not responsible for any errors that might cause new or malloc to fail later. In XCode, whats the equivalent way to try and box in a memory overwrite? All I have at the moment is a random failure of a call to new, somewhere deep in the bowels of some code with no real idea of how long the code has been running with a corrupt heap up until that point.

• Assigning a MVC Controller property from Asp.Net page

  I don't know if I've understanding MVC correctly if my question makes no sense, but I'm trying to understand the following: I have some code on a controller that returns JSON data. The JSON data is populated based on a choice from a dropdown box on an Asp.Net page. I thought (incorrectly) that Session variables would be shared between the Asp.Net project and the MVC Project. What I'd like to do therefore (if this is possible), is to call a Sub on the MVC that sets a variable before the JSON query is run. I have the following: Sub SetCountryID(ByVal CountryID As Integer) Me.pCountrySelectedID = CountryID End Sub Which I can call by the following: Response.Write("http://localhost:7970/Home/SetCountryID/?CountryID=44") But this then results in a blank page - again obviouslly totally incorrect! Am I going about MVC the wrong way or do I still have a hell of a lot more learning to do? Is this even possible to do?
