• USB internet not accessible

  I'm brand new to ubuntu and linux. We access internet from a usb stick issued by a local telephone company. When I plug the stick into the computer, I see the device listed under internet connections as a mobile broadband device but it is grayed out and inaccessible. I tried to create a new mobile broadband connection but my country (Gabon) is not listed and we have no payment plans per se (we pay from a pre-paid card system).. Any clues as to how I can get the system to recognize the internet connection? Thanks for any help...

For example I was trying to pint a document from acrobat reader and opened printer properties to print the content front and back of the paper. If you observe there is a help button before close button. To get help on options of “Print on Both Sides” you would need to click on help button first and then click on the area on which you want to see the help. above picture shows help text for the options of “Print on Both Sides”. If you would like to get the help using keyboard you can use F1 key. Help button can be displayed only if minimize button and maximize button both are not shown unless you want go with custom buttons. below is the way if you want to get Help button for windows forms.   In this sample demo I want to have a checkbox and need to show help when I click on F1 on check box. • Should I use a unit testing framework to validate XML documents?

I'm using an XML Schema (XSD) to validate several large XML documents. While I'm finding plenty of support within XSD for checking the structure of my documents, there are no procedural if/else features that allow me to say, for instance, If Country is USA, then Zipcode cannot be empty. I'm comfortable using unit testing frameworks, and could quite happily use a framework to test content integrity. Am I asking for trouble doing it this way, rather than an alternative approach? Has anybody tried this with good / bad results? -- Edit: I didn't include this information to keep it technology agnostic, but I would be using C# / Linq / xUnit for deserialization / testing.

User specifies which month the quarter starts at (config) Set of functions to deal with quarters (next quarter, prev quarter, etc) All quarter functions respect the config Now this class is primarily to be used for fiscal quarter calculations. So assuming I have this class with a configurable "quarter" system, would I need another parallel set of functions for calendar quarters too? What are the applications for calendar quarters anyways? By calendar quarters I mean where Q1 is Jan-Mar, and Q4 is Oct-Dec. By fiscal quarters I mean whatever standard your Country uses (in India Q1 starts in April)

  I received a rather heartfelt e-mail from a user on our site explaining that Taiwan wasn't a province of China and that they wouldn't register until this was changed. I found the lines to edit in my CMS, but we have valued users from both China and Taiwan. I was wondering the most politically neutral way to amend my country codes. • How to redirect visitors to the server that is closest to them and where to place the servers?

  I am focusing on providing fast page refreshes for my visitors and I wonder where is the smartest spot to place my servers on? I understand that the best would be to place a server in every country or even city, but that is of course not doable with my economy. I am thinking of maybe setting up three servers, one in the middle of USA (Kansas?), one in Italy and one in Sweden. What do you think about that? I don't care about Africa since they haven't even got computers so I won't get traffic from there anyway. China, North Korea etc are probably just visiting chinese websites, they barely know english anway... The next problem is how do I redirect a visitor from Finland to the Swedish server? I don't want the visitor from Finland to be using the USA server or vice versa.

  This is a viewpoint I've started to realize recently about some companies that I have worked for. They had their own software product that they developed in-house but most of the focus was on building an in-person sales team to push their product to businesses throughout the country. I figure that companies that are exclusively "online", meaning that their revenue source comes from online transactions where there is no "face" of the company to the customer would have a different work culture. Just curious if anyone has worked for both types of companies and notices a difference. I myself am hoping to get more into contract programming and figure that companies that don't have to employ a sales-force and things like that would be more focused on technology and maybe even willing to be flexible on partial telecommute, etc

Duplicate all the content on the .com package and make a replica at the other domains Buy the other domains but do a 301 redirect back to the .com domain.   How i can buy the contents of the server of archive.ubuntu.com (for lucid lynx)? In my country i have ultra slow connection. It will take years for downloading all these gigabytes. Because, canonical will stop supporting ubuntu 10.04, i want all the files now, before it's too late. i know that all files will be transfer to old.dir but i think some will be lost. • Cannot connect to wifi after downloading 12.04, repeated prompts for password

  I have had this OS for a little bit but this is my first upgrade and my first issue I am trying to deal with without my buddy who got my on Ubuntu in the first place (who is on the other side of the country.) I am running an IBM Lenovo T400 Thinkpad that had 11.10 on it and worked flawless. I upgraded to 12.04 a few weeks back and I have not been able to connect to the wifi in my home or anywhere for that matter. I have been trying to mess with it through reading the forums and am not quite sure what my problem is. I am running off of Fios Internet and the wifi keep disconnecting and prompts me to retype the password for reconnecting. If you guys could give me a step by step process of how I should go about fixing this I would GREATLY appreciate it!

• Facebook Insights numbers don't add up

  I'm having trouble understanding the Facebook stats for a Fan page under reach as they don't seem to add up. Under the reach tab, if I expand the countries demographics at the top, then the countries listed add up to around 16k people. But scrolling down under reach, the graph reaches as high as 260k in a particular week. From what they say, it seems that both the graph and demographics are talking about unique users, so where are the other 244k unique users that are in the graph but seemingly not from any country on Earth?

• multiple languages same pages shall I change the page URL path as well?

  We own multiple country code top-level domains for our website e.g DE, UK ,FR. When someone visits for one of those domains they redirect to .com and the language automatically changes for the first time to the one from the originating domain. Also users can change the language from the .com website using a dropdown, however the page URI stays exactly the same e.g service.php. How will that be indexed in Google ? Will all the different language will be indexed or only the default lang (English) ? Is it recommended for SEO purposes to do something with the page URL (even using the htaccess maybe) so that I can also append to the title or page name the language ? e.g service.php?lang=fr

• Java EE @ NFJS Central Iowa Software Symposium Des Moines

  As some of you may be aware I recently joined the well-respected US based No Fluff Just Stuff (NFJS) Tour. The NFJS Central Iowa Software Symposium was held August 8 - 10 in Des Moines. The Des Moines show is one of the smaller ones but still was good overall. It is one of the few events of it's kind that take place this part the country so it is extremely important. I had five talks total over two days, more or less back-to-back. I had decent attendance for all my sessions and had many of the same folks staying for multiple sessions which is always a very good sign. I did talks on Java EE 7/Java EE 8, WebSocket, the Cargo Tracker Java EE Blue Prints, JavaScript + Java EE and NoSQL + Java EE.   I find completely contradicting reviews for the VERY same book on amazon and even some book writers are rewarding people for good reviews so basically most of the reviews are totally fake ! You can even figure it out from the reviewer name, which you'll similar to the writer's name and assume that they could actually be from the same country and the reviewer is just being helpful, to the book writer of course ! I can't make my mind for which book I should buy ! I only need a book or two that covers the Java associate and professional topics very well, not just an overview, I need a material that covers everything from A to Z. Even though I've been developing in Java for around 4.5 years but I must not know a detail or two. Would someone kindly shed some light on a good book based on actual experience with the book ? I have tried importing jomsocial library class of profile fields, but I have one issue. I have no object to pass into that function as a parameter. I have tried to fetch field values from database, but I got them in as a single string which is not filtered. Can anyone help me to use jomsocial library in custom module Joomla?
