  Hello, in a German programming forum we currently have a discussion about events and what you (grammatically) do with them. The MSDN talks about "Event Raising" and "to raise an event". Thus, this seems to be one possibility. Are there any other synonyms? What about "to trigger an event" and "to fire an event"? A Google search will bring results for all of the three possibilities. This, however, does not mean that they are correct, too, of course. Are they? Are there any (stylistic, ...) differences or are they used in different contexts? • Handling null values with PowerShell dates

  I'm working on a module to pull data from Oracle into a PowerShell data table, so I can automate some analysis and perform various actions based on the results. Everything seems to be working, and I'm casting columns into specific types based on the column type in Oracle. The problem I'm having has to do with null dates. I can't seem to find a good way to capture that a date column in Oracle has a null value. Is there any way to cast a [datetime] as null or empty?

• Copying a database into a new database including structure and data

  In phpMyAdmin under operations I can "Copy database to:" and select Structure and data CREATE DATABASE before copying Add AUTO_INCREMENT value I need to be able to do that without using phpMyAdmin. I know how to create the database and user. I have a source database that's a shell that I can work from so all I really need is the how to copy all the table structure and data part. (I know, the harder part) system() & exec() are not options for me which rules out mysqldump. (I think) How can I loop through each table and recreate it's structure and data? Is it just looping through the results of SHOW TABLES then for each table looping through DESCRIBE tablename Then, is there an easy way for getting the data copied?

I do not understand the instructions on how to copy my data to another app. Note: The target application must enable remote_api and must include this application’s ID in its HTTP_X_APPENGINE_INBOUND_APPID list. WARNING This application’s data is writable. We can only guarantee a consistent copy when the data being copied is read-only. Note: Blobs (binary data) will not be copied. To enable the remote_api I included the following in the app.yaml: builtins: - remote_api: on I have no idea what HTTP_X_APPENGINE_INBOUND_APPID is, and a Google search yields no results....any ideas?

Note: The assembly code is exactly the same and code is being compiled with no optimizations

  I have been following the answer of this question: How to update existing object in core data? and in the answer it comes across this line of code to update a record within the array: Favorits* favoritsGrabbed = [results objectAtIndex:0]; Now this updates whatever is set a record 0 of the database, no matter what cell I select to edit. I am sorry but I cannot figure out how to change it into updating the cell I have selected. Starting to grow grey hairs here:-) The problem (maybe it is my mindset) is that I am required to give an integer and I am unable to find something to substitute it. Any help would be great.

• Multible jquery .load() methods not running concurrently in MVC 2

  In one of my aspx pages i have something like this in the head: <script type="text/javascript"> $(function() { // Jquery stuff loadStuff(); }); function loadStuff() { $('#result1').load({ source: url }); $('#result2').load({ source: url }); $('#result3').load({ source: url }); }; </script> The idea being that as the page is being displayed these loads will populate the specified divs with results from different webservices as and when the info becomes available. My problem is that this requests are being queued and being sent one at a time. However I want these to be sent at the same time and whichever returns first gets displayed first! Also if I try to kick off another request while these divs are loading the request seems to get queued after the others. How do I make these requests concurrent instead of queued? Thanks

  If I have a stored procedure that executes another stored procedure several times with different arguments, is it possible to have each of these calls commit independently of the others? In other words, if the first two executions of the nested procedure succeed, but the third one fails, is it possible to preserve the results of the first two executions (and not roll them back)?   is it able to "override/overwrite" an input element fixed value using javascript and/or jquery? i.e. if i have an input element like this: <div id="myDiv"> <input type="text" name="inputs" value="someValue" /> </div> is it possible to make a jquery object of that element and then change its value to something else then rewrite the jquery object to the dom?? i'm trying but obviously i haven't got good results! i've been trying something like this: $('input').val("someOtherDynamicValue"); var x = $('input'); $("#myDiv").html(x);

  I'm trying to execute synonym filtering at query time so that if I search for X, results for Y also show up. I go to where Solr is being run, edit the .txt file and add X, Y on a new line. • how to execute a .exe program by php script

  hello I want to execute a .exe file on my Apache server using a php script. the procedure is as follow: 1- user comes, fills a html form 2- it goses to a php script 3- php script executes the name.exe file 4- php prints the output of the name.exe file on the page. I execute the name.exe normally from windows like this: run--> cmd--> D:\name [command] the name.exe needs to communicate with other files like libraries in the same directory. the complete comand in cmd at windows is like this: D:\name library.dll [input from user] then program executes and prints some results in cmd window. I actually want to run this program on my server form my clients. I dont know how, but I now there is a way to do this. another related questoin is that, is there any shell that i can install on Linux server and execute name.exe in it? thanks in advanced, John.

• MySQL Query to receive random combinations from two tables.

  Alright, here is my issue, I have two tables, one named firstnames and the other named lastnames. What I am trying to do here is to find 100 of the possible combinations from these names for test data. The firstnames table has 5494 entries in a single column, and the lastnames table has 88799 entries in a single column. The only query that I have been able to come up with that has some results is: select * from (select * from firstnames order by rand()) f LEFT JOIN (select * from lastnames order by rand()) l on 1=1 limit 10; The problem with this code is that it selects 1 firstname and gives every lastname that could go with it. While this is plausible, I will have to set the limit to 500000000 in order to get all the combinations possible without having only 20 first names(and I'd rather not kill my server). However, I only need 100 random generations of entries for test data, and I will not be able to get that with this code. Can anyone please give me any advice?

  Given an array 'a' I would like to sort the array by columns "a.sort(axis=0)" do some stuff to the array and then undo the sort. By that I don't mean re sort but basically reversing how each element was moved. I assume argsort() is what I need but it is not clear to me how to sort an array with the results of argsort() or more importantly apply the reverse/inverse of argsort() Here is a little more detail I have an array a, shape(a) = rXc I need to sort each column aargsort = a.argsort(axis=0) # May use this later aSort = a.sort(axis=0) now average each row aSortRM = asort.mean(axis=1) now replace each col in a row with the row mean. is there a better way than this aWithMeans = ones_like(a) for ind in range(r) # r = number of rows aWithMeans[ind]* aSortRM[ind] Now I need to undo the sort I did in the first step. ????

• how to get a product's image in magento?

  im running on version 1.3.2.1 but on my client's server they had magento 1.3.0 so my previous code to display images for my local copy: echo $this->helper('catalog/image')->init($_product)->resize(163, 100); does not work on the client's installation looking at the results returned by their magento, ver 1.3.0 actually returns a url although it points to the skin's media folder is there a way to get the absolute image path for the image? or should i make changes somewhere else that would tell magento that the media directory should be on the root?

For SELECT INTO statements, verify each column has a name. For other statements, look for empty alias names. Aliases defined as "" or [] are not allowed. Change the alias to a valid name. I guess because the column containing the results of SUM has not name. thanks

  Hi there, I have a funny problem I'd like to ask you guys ('n gals) about. I'm importing some module A that is importing some non-existent module B. Of course this will result in an ImportError. This is what A.py looks like import B Now let's import A >>> import A Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "/tmp/importtest/A.py", line 1, in <module> import B ImportError: No module named B Alright, on to the problem. How can I know if this ImportError results from importing A or from some corrupt import inside A without looking at the error's string representation.   I'm creating a search page on our SharePoint site that will allow users to find results from a SQL table by either performing a search from a text box @Param1, or selecting a value from a dropdown @SiteParam. My SQL SelectStatement is SELECT * FROM [Routing] WHERE [Site] LIKE CASE WHEN @Param1 IS NOT NULL THEN '%' + @Param1 + '%' ELSE @SiteParam This works great in SQL when I declare the parameters and set values for the search, but not so much in SharePoint. I've been able to get it to work if I don't do the case and just use 1 of the parameters, but I haven't found a way to get it to do either of them. Any help is appreciated! Thanks
