    Example: User installs app v.1.0, adds data. Then the dev submits 10 updates in 10 weeks. After 11 weeks, the user wants v.11.0 and grabs a copy from the app store. Assuming that the app has got 11 .xcdatamodel versions inside, where ***11.xcdatamodel is the current one, what would happen now since the persistent store of the user is ages old? would the migration happen 10 times, step-by-step through every migration iteration? Or does the actual migration of data (lets assume gigabytes of data) happen exactly once, after Core Data (or the persistent store coordinator) has figured out precisely what to do to go from v.1.0 to v.11.0?

  • Facebook Open Graph Debugger Error

    Hi I am new to programming and have tried to make a facebook app with open graph beta tutorial. I have done exactly as described in the tutorial but when i try to use the debug tool it gives me an error: Extraneous Property: Objects of this type do not allow properties named og:app_id. I have noticed and searched that its doing this because the tag needs to be <fb:app_id>. I checked my file it says fb:app_id only, but the raw data that pulls up on the debug tool shows meta property="og:app_id" content="267029796703617" even though i have changed and uploaded with fb:app_id. I have checked my page several times and tried some possible solutions but have had no success. Can someone help me fix this.

    After seeing several threads rubbishing the regexp method of finding a term to match within an HTML document, I've used the Simple HTML DOM PHP parser (http://simplehtmldom.sourceforge.net/) to get the bits of text I'm after, but I want to know if my code is optimal. It feels like I'm looping too many times. Is there a way to optimise the following loop? //Get the HTML and look at the text nodes $html = str_get_html($buffer); //First we match the <body> tag as we don't want to change the <head> items foreach($html->find('body') as $body) { //Then we get the text nodes, rather than any HTML foreach($body->find('text') as $text) { //Then we match each term foreach ($terms as $term) { //Match to the terms within the text nodes $text->outertext = str_replace($term, '<span class="highlight">'.$term.'</span>', $text->outertext); } } } For example, would it make a difference to determine check if I have any matches before I start the loop maybe?

    I have this condition public class A { public action() { System.out.println("Action done in A"); } } public class B extends A { public action() { System.out.println("Action done in B"); } } when I create an instance of B, the action will do just actions in B, as it overrides the action of the superclass. the problem is that in my project, the super class A is already used too many times, and I am looking for a way that under certain conditions, when i create an instance of A it makes a check and if it is true, replace itself with B. public class A { public A() { if ([condition]) { this = new B(); } } public action() { System.out.println("Action done in A"); } } A a = new A(); a.action(); // expect to see "Action done in B"... is this possible in some way?

  • Can't use MySQL extract() function in the WHERE clause.

    I've run the following query: UPDATE main_table, reference_table SET main_table.calc_column = (CASE WHEN main_table.incr = "6AM" THEN reference_table.col1+reference_table.col2+... WHEN main_table.incr = "12AM" THEN reference_table.col7+reference_table.col8+... WHEN main_table.incr = "6PM" THEN reference_table.col13+reference_table.col14+... ELSE reference_table.col19+reference_table.col20+...) WHERE main_table.month = extract(month from reference_table.thedate) AND main_table.day = extract(day from reference_table.thedate) I've used extract() function since my reference_table doesn't have month and day columns but has the date column named thedate. I've used the extract() function on the reference_table many times before successfully, so, I know that there's nothing wrong with my extract function syntax. However, in this instance, MySQL complains. It probably has to do with the fact that I've used in the WHERE clause. I know that this issue could get fixed if I added the month and day columns to the reference_table to avoid using the extract() function. However, I'm very reluctant to do that and would like to avoid it. How can I make it work?`

  • samsung galaxy tab 4 not recognized by eclipse

    the just released samsung galaxy tab 4 tablet does bring up the 'autoplay' box with device options when connected, but is not being recognized by eclipse, nothing shows in the device window. I have enabled debugging on the galaxy tab, including tapping the 'about' box 7 times to make the developer options magically appear. it runs kitkat and the Samsung site has a 'no data available' under the driver tab for this device. since it just came out at target last week it's unlikely there would be a new driver anyway, which has been the usual suggestion for this question on older models.

  • Good way to send a large file over a network in C#?

    I am trying to build an application that can request files from a service running on another machine in the network. These files can be fairly large (500mb + at times). I was looking into sending it via TCP but I'm worried that it may require that the entire file be stored in memory. There will probably only be one client. Copying to a shared directory isn't acceptable either. The only communication required is for the client to say "gimme xyz" and the server to send it (and whatever it takes to ensure this happens correctly). Any suggestions?

  • c++ Sorting a vector based on values of other vector, or what's faster?

    Hi, There are a couple of other posts about sorting a vector A based on values in another vector B. Most of the other answers tell to create a struct or a class to combine the values into one object and use std::sort. Though I'm curious about the performance of such solutions as I need to optimize code which implements bubble sort to sort these two vectors. I'm thinking to use a vector<pair<int,int>> and sort that. I'm working on a blob-tracking application (image analysis) where I try to match previously tracked blobs against newly detected blobs in video frames where I check each of the frames against a couple of previously tracked frames and of course the blobs I found in previous frames. I'm doing this at 60 times per second (speed of my webcam). Any advice on optimizing this is appreciated.   • R looking for the wrong java version

    Hi, I installed/uninstalled java jre/jdk now many times and finally installed the older version 1.6.0_17 which is now located at "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin". Now after all if I call 'java -version' within R i can see that R is looking for Java at the old path which is now wrong. The question is: Why is R looking for Java at the wrong path even so the windows path is set correctly? There are no double entrys within the windows path as far as I can see and I restarted R as well as Windows more then once since then. Any Ideas where R takes the wrong path from?     The question is a bit vague, but I am not really sure why this happens: I have the following code: p user.room.users.length user.room.users.each {|usr| puts "b" } user.room.users.each {|usr| puts "a"; usr.enter(Room[Config::entrance]) } which outputs: 5 b b b b b a a a I also made User#enter count how many times it's been called and it returns 3! I am completely baffled by this behaviour. I doubt the code within User#enter is the cause, but if someone thinks it might be relevant I can provide it (I don't want to clutter the question unnecessarily).     For a given int sequence check number of double palindromes, where by double palindrome we mean sequence of two same palindromes without break between them. So for example: in 1 0 1 1 0 1 we have 1 0 1 as a palindrome which appears 2 times without a break, in 1 0 1 5 1 0 1 we have 1 0 1 but it's separated (apart from the other palindromes in these sequences) Problem example test data is: 3 12 0 1 1 0 0 1 1 0 0 1 1 0 12 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1 0 6 3 3 3 3 3 3 with answers 8 0 9 Manacher is obvious for the begging, but I'm not sure what to do next.   • How to prevent robots from automatically filling up a form?

    I'm trying to come up with a good enough anti-spamming mechanism to prevent automatically generated input. I've read that techniques like captcha, 1+1=? stuff work well, but they also present an extra step impeding the free quick use of the application. (I'm not looking for anything like that please). I've tried setting some hidden fields in all of my forms, with display: none; However, I'm almost certain a robot (which is essentially a program) can be configured to trace that form field id and simply not fill it. Do you implement/know of a good anti automatic-form-filling-robots method? Is there something that can be done seamlessly with HTML AND/OR server side processing, and be (almost) foolproof? (and please no JS, one could simply disable it, and there goes my anti-spam method). Btw I'm trying not to rely on sessions for this (like, counting how many times a button is clicked to prevent overloads).

  • In Visual Studio 2010, intellisense isn't showing for long method signatures

    The problem is exactly as asked in the question title. When I'm typing in the text editor and referencing a public method that has a long signature (lots of parameters, usually 10 or more) the intellisense just stops working. It will sometimes flicker; other times it will not show at all. Only seen this happen with C#, but I don't use anything else. It might happen in VB too. Don't know. Anyone else seeing this? I've Googled for an hour but can't seem to iron it out. I've restarted VS, rebooted the machine, enabled/disabled intellisense in Tools - Options. NOTHING works.

    If I have a stored procedure that executes another stored procedure several times with different arguments, is it possible to have each of these calls commit independently of the others? In other words, if the first two executions of the nested procedure succeed, but the third one fails, is it possible to preserve the results of the first two executions (and not roll them back)?   • Cannot step into .NET framework source with VS2008 SP1.

    Somehow my VS2008 SP1 has lost the ability to step into .NET framework sources. I've played around with checkboxes to no end; I've re-deleted the Symbol cache folder a dozen times; and I've tried all kinds of debug symbol servers. All it does is download some .PDB files, but when I try to select a stack frame in .NET, I always get the message about no source available and "do you want to view disassembly". What gives? Added: Web application; Windows Vista Business x32; .NET 3.5 SP1.

I've tried many times to explain to Facebook review team about my app, but they did not accept, because my application (a web game using HTML5 and JavaScript) require people like my fan page before play. So my question is: Is there any to bypass Facebook privacy?   • Zend_Soap with attachments (server)

    i'm trying to build a SOAP service with Zend_Soap. Everything is working great but the client needs the ability to send attachments to the service (not base64 encoded strings, as this service will be called multiple times a day with various file sizes so processing all that in memory is not possible. So I'd like to handle a normal SOAP attachment (DIME/MIME) with the SOAP server in Zend Framework however I'm unable to find documentation about it. Can I access it with $_FILES[] or any other way? Is it even possible in Zend_Soap (as there's not that much info available). SOAP is a must - so thanks for the advice but it has to be SOAP, not REST.

  • Android sql creating database once

    One thing i'm not understanding is how to create the database and data just once in an android application. I extend SQLiteOpenHelper and use a DataHelper class that to manipulate data. Now, I have addEvent() and updateEvent() within the DataHelper class. I create an instance of DataHelper in my Activity and addEvent() a couple of times to insert data. Well, now I don't know how to just do that once. If I restart the app, its just going to "addEvent()" again and so the data is being reset every time. Sorry for the probably really REALLY noob question. The only solution I found was not using the DataHelper class and just adding data "manually" within the onCreate() method in SQLiteOpenHelper.

  • Fast, cross-platform timer?

    I'm looking to improve the D garbage collector by adding some heuristics to avoid garbage collection runs that are unlikely to result in significant freeing. One heuristic I'd like to add is that GC should not be run more than once per X amount of time (maybe once per second or so). To do this I need a timer with the following properties: It must be able to grab the correct time with minimal overhead. Calling core.stdc.time takes an amount of time roughly equivalent to a small memory allocation, so it's not a good option. Ideally, should be cross-platform (both OS and CPU), for maintenance simplicity. Super high resolution isn't terribly important. If the times are accurate to maybe 1/4 of a second, that's good enough. Must work in a multithreaded/multi-CPU context. The x86 rdtsc instruction won't work.

  • If I don't odr-use a variable, can I have multiple definitions of it across translation units?

    The standard seems to imply that there is no restriction on the number of definitions of a variable if it is not odr-used (§3.2/3): Every program shall contain exactly one definition of every non-inline function or variable that is odr-used in that program; no diagnostic required. It does say that any variable can't be defined multiple times within a translation unit (§3.2/1): No translation unit shall contain more than one definition of any variable, function, class type, enumeration type, or template. But I can't find a restriction for non-odr-used variables across the entire program. So why can't I compile something like the following: // other.cpp int x; // main.cpp int x; int main() {} Compiling and linking these files with g++ 4.6.3, I get a linker error for multiple definition of 'x'. To be honest, I expect this, but since x is not odr-used anywhere (as far as I can tell), I can't see how the standard restricts this. Or is it undefined behaviour?

    I'm new to java and I wonder if there is simple way to know flow like the following of object creation, I'm using eclipse and when I write new ObjectInputStream and press CTRL+SPACE. I don't see any option that I can enter new BufferedInputStream (I have copied the code from example) and than to create new object for FileInputStream etc. in = new ObjectInputStream(new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream("emp.dat"))); List temp = (List)in.readObject(); I give that example since this is the first time that I saw this kind of creation new object flow and I want to use some best practice for the next times.

  • Copy one column over another in a delimited file

    For instance, I needed to remove column 25 and replace it with a copy of column 22 in a simple csv file with no embedded delimiters. The best I could come up with was the awkward looking: awk -F, '{ for(x=1;x<25;x++){printf("%s,", $x)};printf("%s,",$22);for(x=26;x<59;x++){printf ("%s,", $x)};print $59}' I would expect something like cut -d, -f1-24,23,26-59 to work but cut doesn't seem to want to print the same column two times... Is there a more elegant way to do it using anything typicaly available in a linux shell environment?
