If i click on a particular option the response is shown in the form of graph their only. There is another way also . If i click on become a fan. Then this form is posted on my wall. • autocomplete issue with iScroll

  I am using jQuery Autocomplete on my jQUeryMobile application. It works perfect. Now I'm trying to use iScroll.js to scroll through the list of looked up items. Here is what I'am doing, http://jsfiddle.net/uXbKY/39/ The problem is, iscroll is applying only for the first item of the suggestion box, where as I'm not able to scroll through entire list.Please help me if I'm missing anything in my code.Please help me to acheive this using iScoll. I found one more way that we can use custom touch based scrollbar for autocomplete box http://jsfiddle.net/uXbKY/2/ but there is a issue that, the custom scrollbar appears only for first search and it disappears from the suggastion box when list get refreshed, Please suggest me if we can fix this, because both options are fine for me for using my autocomplete in ipad and android. or if anyone thinks there's a better way to do this than with iScroll and jScrollPane, you are wel-come I'm open to suggestions. • Query filter design for string field

  A field in my table can have arbitrary strings. On the UI, there is a drop down having options like All, Value1, Value2 And the results were filtered by the selected option value. So far this is easy and adding new filters to the UI is not a problem. Needs no changes in my stored procedure. Now I want to have an "Others" option here as well, which will return rows not having the column value as Value1 or Value2. Apparently this will require a "not in" operator in my query, and will make maintenance difficult, as the list of values is likely to change Any suggestions, design tips?

• ClickOnce installing prereqs out of order

  I have an Outlook plugin that I am deploying using ClickOne (right click on project file, choose publish, etc...). I recently created a blank XP VM with only Office 2007 installed. My ClickOnce installer recognizes that I need my three prerequisites (Office 2007 PIAs, .Net 3.5 Sp1, and VSTO 2010 tools). They download fine but then the installer tries to install the Office 2007 PIAs first and my install fails because .Net 3.5 Sp1 and VSTO 2010 tools are prerequisites for the Office 2007 PIAs. How can I change the install order of my prerequisites? Also, are there better options for deploying ClickOnce's applications?

  Hello all As the title says, I want to truncate user-input text string based on the width and height of a designated container. My specification is to truncate the string, display some message like Read More at the end and when user clicks on it, the text slides down. UPDATE: Ah! Forgot one thing. I need it to be able to work with LINQ, because I want to add additional where clauses to the final query that gets run. I am looking for the best open source .NET search engine that works with LINQ. I like lucene.net but the problem is the LINQ interface (LINQ to Lucene) hasn't been updated since 2008. Are there any good options out there?

  Hi, This is the first time I’m building a website and using CodeIgniter and I was wondering whether you have any tips on uploading CI to a free web host. Can I just upload the entire CI folder? Or do I have to upload individual files (God no!)? What are my options? What about my MySQL database - do I just upload my mysqldump to the webhost? Also, can you recommend a good free webhost. • How to configure the web page of a web application to be browsed maximized ?

  I have developed a web project using PowerBuilder V12.0 and it is published in ASP.net web file formats (*.aspx). I have hosted my web project on a web server machine with operating system (Windows Server 2003 - Enterprise Edition) and IIS V6.0 as Web Server Hosting Application. I would like to make the home page (Default.aspx) opened maximized so that no internet toolbars appears in the Internet Explorere or any other internet browser like Firefox and so on. It seems this is a web server configuration and setting as now I host the same web application in two development web servers and it opens maximized in one of them and opens normal in the other so No changes are needed in the web project files. I do not know exactly what is this option or configuration,, Is there a property like window size or width and height in web configuration files like web.config and machine.config ? I guess there is a property like WindowSize:Maximized. If you had experience with that before please let me know the options and configurations needed to do that. Thanks for your help.

• Security for web services only used from a Silverlight application?

  I have googled a bit for how I should handle security in a web service application when the application is basically the data repository for a Silverlight application, but have gotten inconclusive results. The Silverlight application is not supposed to have its own user authentication, since it will be reachable only through a web application that the user have already authenticated to get into. As such, I was thinking I could simply add a parameter to the SL application that is a cookie-type value, with a certain lifetime, linked to the user in the database. The SL application would then have to pass this value alongside other parameters to the web services. Since the web service is hopefully going to be a generic web service endpoint, few methods, adding an extra parameter at this level will not be a problem. But, am I supposed to roll this system on my own? It sounds to me as this isn't exactly new features that nobody has considered before, so what are my options?

• Resharper: how to force introducing new private fields at the bottom of the class?

  Resharper offers a very useful introduce and initialize field xxx action when you specify a new parameter in a constructor like: Constructor (int parameter) The only (minor) nuisance is that it puts the new field at the beginning of the class - and I'm a fan of putting private parts as far away as possible from the prying eyes of strangers ;). If, however, you already have some private fields in the class, Resharper will put the new field "correctly" (note the quotes, I don't want to start a flame war over this issue) next to those, even if they are at the end of the class. Is there a way to force Resharper to always put new fields at the end of the class? UPDATE: OK, I forgot to mention I know about the "Type Members Layout in Options" feature, but some concrete help on how to modify the template to achieve fields placement would be nice.

  I have created a custom UITableViewCell, but when I dequeue the cell, sometimes it throws an NSInvalidArgumentException: [UITableViewCell nameLabel]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3b4e7f0 Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '* -[UITableViewCell nameLabel]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x3b4e7f0' Now, my custom UITableViewCell does have an attribute nameLabel, so I am confused why it is throwing this error. • Getting a table's values into a tree

  So, I have a table like such: id|root|kw1|kw2|kw3|kw4|kw5|name 1| A| B| C| D| E| F|fileA 2| A| B| | | | |fileB 3| B| C| D| E| | |fileC 4| A| B| | | | |fileD (several hundred rows...) And I need to get it into a tree like the following: *A *B -fileB -fileD *C *D *E *F -fileA *B *C *D *E -fileC I'm pretty sure the table is laid out poorly but it's what I have to live with. I've read a little about Adjacency List Model & Modified Preorder Tree Traversal but I don't think my data is laid out correctly. I think this requires a recursive function, but I'm not at all sure how to go about that. I'm open to any ideas of how to get this done even if it means extracting the data into a new table just to process this. Are there any good options available to me or any good ways to do this? (Examples are a bonus of course)

• How to encrypt data in php using Public/Private keys?

  I have a small string of some data (less than 1kb) that I would like to have user agents pass to other sites when they are sent from my site. In order for the other sites to verify that I was the one that created the string I though of two options. The server pings me back to confirm (like paypal, openid, etc..) I use public/private keys to prove I sent the message (like PGP, DKIM, etc..) I don't want to setup HMAC because that would mean I have to use custom keys for each site which would be a pain. Out of those two choices it seems that #2 would save on bandwidth which makes it seem like a better choice. So how can you setup public/private key cryptography using PHP and are there any downsides?

• Setting Corner Radius on UIImageView not working

  I'm at a bit of a loss. I've used the layer property of UIView to round the corners of multiple elements in my app. However, this one UIImageView is simply not complying. Not sure what I am missing. The UIImageView (called previewImage) is contained in a Table View Cell. • MySQL: Is it possible to return a "mixed" dataset?

  Hi, I'm wondering if there's some clever way in MySQL to return a "mixed/balanced" dataset according to a specific criterion? To illustrate, let's say that there are potential results in a table that can be of Type 1 or Type 2 (i.e. a column has a value 1 or 2 for each record). Is there a clever query that would be able to directly return results alternating between 1 and 2 in sequence: 1st record is of type 1, 2nd record is of type 2, 3rd record is of type 1, 4th record is of type 2, etc... Apologies if the question is silly, just looking for some options. Of course, I could return any data and do this in PHP, but it does add some code. Thanks.

• How to evaluate "enterprise" platforms?

  Hi all, I'm tasked with evaluating an "enterprise" platform for the next-gen version of a product. We're currently considering two "types" of platforms - RAD (workflow engine, integrated UI, small cores of "technology plugins" to the workflows, automatic persisting of state...) like SalesForce.com / Service-Now.com and "cloud based" (EC2 / AppEngine...). While I have a few ideas on where to start, I'd like your opinions - how would you evaluate platforms for an enterprise suite of products? What factors would you consider? How would you eliminate weak options quickly enough to be able to concentrate on the few strong ones? Also interesting is how would you compare enterprise RAD (proven technology, quick to develop - but tends to look "the same as the competition") to cloud-based technology (lots of "buzz", not that many competitors - easy to justify to management, but probably lacking (?) enterprise tools and experience). As said before - I have a few ideas, but would like to see some answers before I post mine so I wouldn't drive the discussion to a specific place. RB.

• How do I enumerate installed OleDb providers for current processor architecture?

  I've a project that connects to a dBase format database file, that I've always done in the past with a connection string of the form of: PROVIDER=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=MyData.dbf;Extended Properties=dBASE 5.0 I've had to revisit this recently, and have found that when attempting to create an OleDbConnection with that connection string on x64 machines, that have an x86 install of Office on it, it throws an exception. A quick hack of a fix shows that forcing the application to target x86 only makes it work, but I was hoping to be able to tidy this up and check in advance whether it would fail to create the connection, so that I could customise my import options to suit the available providers. Is it possible to enumerate the available data providers for the current processor architecture? (other than relying on catching the exception -- after all, the Framework Design Guidelines suggest that you should only throw in exceptional circumstances, and you have a method to check if something would throw an exception)

• Perform separate compilation of Latex documents

  When compiling latex documents the compiler emits a lot of "object" files. This clutters the directories I'm working on and it difficults the use of VCS like SVN. When I work with C++ code I have separate directories for the code and the objects, I can run make on the source directory but the .o files go to the build directory. Is there a proper way to perform this separate compilation with Latex documents? Can it be done by using Makefiles or by passing options to the latex compiler? Thanks

  If you have to build a flow of a Use-case by drawing each Interface Diagram. Then you would start with a Diagram like say "login". But after the login page, no mather wich page you choose except the "logout" page, you always have your navigation bar right ? So all the options in the navigation bar? Like account page , personal page, etc... Do you have to make sure in your flow that in every diagram there is acces to the "accountpage" diagram ? Or do they have an other solution for that ? • In SQL Server, can multiple inserts be replaced with a single insert that takes an XML parameter?

  So I have an existing ASP.NET solution that uses LINQ-to-SQL to insert data into SQL Server (5 tables, 110k records total). I had read in the past that XML could be passed as a parameter to SQL Server but my google searches turn up results that store the XML directly into a table. I would rather take that XML parameter and insert the nodes as records. Is this possible? How is it done (i.e. how is the XML parameter used to insert records in T-SQL, how should the XML be formatted)? Note: I'm researching other options like SQL bulk copy and I know that SSIS would be a good alternative. I want to know if this XML approach is feasible.

• 2 or more Controls only 1 is considered Active

  I have 2 controls (MyCtrl) next to each other called ctrlLeft and ctrlRight. Whenever one receives interaction it is considered active (by default the left one). I override OnDraw and customize the look of the active one a bit. Currently I have a property Active and an event that I subscribe to from all MyCtrl in there I store a reference to the active one like this: if (sender is MyCtrl) { ctrlActive = (sender as MyCtrl); ctrlLeft.Active = !(ctrlRight.Active = (ctrlActive == ctrlRight)); } Either way I need to have ctrlActive as I use it for other things but what I am wondering is if this is the best way make them aware of each other? Another option I thought of was to store references to every possible MyCtrl and then loop through em all and activate / deactivate the one that match sender just in case I in the future add a ctrlMiddle. Are my thoughts wrong, is there better options to do this. For example, how does radiobuttons accomplish their similar functionality?

A few obvious choices come to mind, but I want to know if there are other options, better choices or if we've made the same decision as a lot of you. QuickFIX - Stable, C++ implementation - so you've got unmanaged code to interop with. FIX4NET - C# implementation - seems to have some gaps in its implementation. DIY - Chime in here if you've made your own FIX engine Let me throw in some caveats here. I'm not looking for sub 100 microsecond processing. Performance is a requirement, but not so much that it's driving my decisions. A solid product that is stable, performs well and is flexible enough to deal with vendor specific dialects is the sweet spot. The more we can do in .NET the better.

• .NET desktop App remembering login to a webservice

  I am in the planning stages of a .NET desktop app that will communicate with a web service. The web service requires a username and password, and a common feature in this sort of app is to save the user's credentials for the next logon. I've thought of a few ways of achieving this, but I am not sure what the most secure way would be. Should it be stored encrypted in a file (and could someone nefarious copy that file to their own machine and hence logon as the original person), or in the registry somehow (I've not done any registry work before, is it secure and would it work)? Are there any other options I might not have thought of?
