  • PAM authentication problem

    I am using this module to authenticate using pam: http://code.google.com/p/web2py/source/browse/gluon/contrib/pam.py I can call authenticate('username','password') and it returns True/ False. It works for any 'username' but 'root'. My guess is that there is a security restriction in PAM that does not allow to check for the root password. I need to be able to check the root password. Is there anything I can change in the pam.conf or somewhere else to remove this restriction?

    How can I (using jquery or other) insert html at the cursor/caret position of my contenteditable div: <div contenteditable="true">Hello world</div> For example, if the cursor/caret was between "hello" and "world" and the user then clicked a button, eg "insert image", then using javascript, something like <img src=etc etc> would be inserted between "hello" and "world". Should sticky_session be set to true or false for in memory session replication. http://tomcat.apache.org/connectors-doc/reference/workers.html mentions : Set sticky_session to False when Tomcat is using a Session Manager which can persist session data across multiple instances of Tomcat. where as /tomcat-6.0-doc/cluster-howto.html (Cluster Basics) mentions : Make sure that your loadbalancer is configured for sticky session mode.

    G'day guys, I'm currently using fasterCSV to parse a CSV file in ruby, and wondering how to get rid of the initial row of data on a CSV (The initial row contains the time/date information generated by another software package) I tried using fasterCSV.table and then deleting row(0) then converting it to a CSV document then parsing it but the row was still present in the document.   • Great Circle & Rhumb line intersection

    I have a Latitude, Longitude, and a direction of travel in degrees true north. I would like to calculate if I will intersect a line defined by two more Lat/Lon points. I figure the two points defining the line would create my great circle and my location and azimuth would define my Rhumb line. I am only interested in intersections that will occur with a few hundred kilometers so I do not need every possible solution. I have no idea where to begin.

    I have a select list which, when changed, pulls data via ajax and dynamically creates select lists. Then based on the data used to create the select lists (a type), I pull more data via ajax if i don't have it already and create the options for the select list and store them in a fragment. Then I append that fragment to the select list. This is zippy in FF3 and Chrome but either doesn't append the options at all or takes a long time (minutes) to append the options in IE7.   • AsyncListViewAdapter + SimplePager, why is inactive pager clearing the table?

    I'm trying to make CellTable work together with AsyncListViewAdapter<T> and SimplePager<T>. The data gets displayed, but when the pager should be 'deaf' (meaning when all existing data are displayed) it still receives clicks and, more importantly, makes the displayed data go away. Instead of my data 'loading' indicator gets displayed, and it keep loading and loading... Obviously nothing gets loaded, as it doesn't even call the onRangeChanged handler. I went through the code-snippets in this thread, but I can't see anything suspicions on what I've been doing. Is there some obvious answer to a rookie mistake?
