  • C# Entity Framework Base Repository

    - by Andy
I'm trying to create a base repository for use with Entity Framework 4.0 and having some trouble. In this code below, why is it not possible to do this in one line? public IEnumerable<T> GetAll<T>(Expression<Func<T, bool>> filter) { IEnumerable<T> allCustomers = this.GetAll<T>(); IEnumerable<T> result = allCustomers.Where(filter.Compile()); return result; } Won't this result in 2 SQL statements: one without a where clause that retrieves all rows, and one with a where clause that only retrieves the rows that match the predicate? How can this be done with a single SQL statement? I can't get it to compile if I try to cast the filter.Compile() to Func<Customer, bool>. Thanks, Andy

  • importing modules in app engine

    - by tanky
Ive asked this before, but it seems i wasnt clear/detailed enough and after a week of trying im still struggling so i will try again. i am trying to use, oauth2 and ply on app engine. i have tried copying their directories into my app engine project directory (in the form ply-3.4 or brosner-python-oauth2-82a05f9) and i have tried copying the specific sub directory contained within the aforemention one. (ply or oauth2) i have tried saying import oauth2, from brosner-oauth2_python-82a05f9 import oauth and other variations on the theme, but i still cant get it to work nothing has worked. i have tried including them in app.yaml, but that seemed to create an even bigger error as my entire project wouldnt even run when i tried that. and now i have run out of things to try. the error log i am getting is as follows. • Example from: "Javascript - The Good Parts"

    - by Matrym
What "ugliness" does the following solve? There's something I'm not getting, and I'd appreciate help understanding what it is. For example, by augmenting Function.prototype, we can make a method available to all functions: Function.prototype.method = function (name, func) { this.prototype[name] = func; return this; }; By augmenting Function.prototype with a method method, we no longer have to type the name of the prototype property. That bit of ugliness can now be hidden.

  • Why bubling not working

    - by slier
I just want to understand how capturing and bubbling work. Unfortunately this code just work in IE, and not working in firefox. When i click on div3, it just stop there.it not bubling up toward body element. • Controlling symbol generation in Clojure macros

    - by mikera
I'm trying (as a self-learning exercise) to create a Clojure macro that will generate code to apply a function to a sequence of integers and sum the result, e.g. f(0) + f(1) + f(2) + f(3) This is my attempt: (defmacro testsum [func n] `(fn [x#] (+ ~@( map (fn [i] `(~func x#)) (range n))))) However something seems to go wrong with the x# gensym and I end up with two different versions of x and hence the function doesn't work: (macroexpand '(testsum inc 3)) gives: (fn* ([x__809__auto__] (clojure.core/+ (inc x__808__auto__) (inc x__808__auto__) (inc x__808__auto__)))) This is pretty much exactly what I want apart from the different 809 and 808 versions of x..... What am I doing wrong? I thought that the auto gensym was meant to create a single unique symbol for exactly this kind of purpose? Is there a better way of doing this?

  • Built in raytracing?

    - by acidzombie24
Relating to this question i was wondering if .NET has any libs (or a function) i can use to detect if one point collides with another. I am not sure what angles i should use but is there some function like this func(point src, rect target, angle, distanceOfVision, listPointOrRectOfWalls) Pretty unlikely but i dont know a formula or how to start. Its a quick and dirty prototype. I am thinking of writing the func about but dropping angle and just make line of sight a rectangle and check if any points is between src and target.

  • prevent using functions before initialization, constructors-like in C

    - by Hernán Eche
This is the way I get to prevent funA,funB,funC, etc.. for being used before init #define INIT_KEY 0xC0DE //any number except 0, is ok static int initialized=0; int Init() { //many init task initialized=INIT_KEY; } int funA() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funB() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } int funC() { if (initialized!=INIT_KEY) return 1 //.. } The problem with this approach is that if some of those function is called within a loop so "if (initialized!=INIT_KEY)" is called again, and again, although it's not necessary. It's a good example of why constructors are useful haha, If it were an object I would be sure that when was created initialization was called, but in C, I don't know how to do it. Any other ideas are welcome!

  • go programming POST FormValue can't be printed

    - by poor_programmer
Before I being a bit of background, I am very new to go programming language. I am running go on Win 7, latest go package installer for windows. I'm not good at coding but I do like some challenge of learning a new language. I wanted to start learn Erlang but found go very interesting based on the GO I/O videos in youtube. I'm having problem with capturing POST form values in GO. I spend three hours yesterday to get go to print a POST form value in the browser and failed miserably. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, can anyone point me to the right direction? I can easily do this in another language like C#, PHP, VB, ASP, Rails etc. I have search the entire interweb and haven't found a working sample. Below is my sample code. Here is Index.html page {{ define "title" }}Homepage{{ end }} {{ define "content" }} <h1>My Homepage</h1> <p>Hello, and welcome to my homepage!</p> <form method="POST" action="/"> <p> Enter your name : <input type="text" name="username"> </P> <p> <button>Go</button> </form> <br /><br /> {{ end }} Here is the base page <!DOCTYPE html> <html lang="en"> <head> <title>{{ template "title" . }}</title> </head> <body> <section id="contents"> {{ template "content" . }} </section> <footer id="footer"> My homepage 2012 copy </footer> </body> </html> now some go code package main import ( "fmt" "http" "strings" "html/template" ) var index = template.Must(template.ParseFiles( "templates/_base.html", "templates/index.html", )) func GeneralHandler(w http.ResponseWriter, r *http.Request) { index.Execute(w, nil) if r.Method == "POST" { a := r.FormValue("username") fmt.Fprintf(w, "hi %s!",a); //<-- this variable does not rendered in the browser!!! } } func helloHandler(w http.ResponseWriter, r *http.Request) { remPartOfURL := r.URL.Path[len("/hello/"):] fmt.Fprintf(w, "Hello %s!", remPartOfURL) } func main() { http.HandleFunc("/", GeneralHandler) http.HandleFunc("/hello/", helloHandler) http.ListenAndServe("localhost:81", nil) } Thanks! PS: Very tedious to add four space before every line of code in stackoverflow especially when you are copy pasting. Didn't find it very user friendly or is there an easier way?

  • Apply function to one element of a list in Python

    - by user189637
I'm looking for a concise and functional style way to apply a function to one element of a tuple and return the new tuple, in Python. For example, for the following input: inp = ("hello", "my", "friend") I would like to be able to get the following output: out = ("hello", "MY", "friend") I came up with two solutions which I'm not satisfied with. One uses a higher-order function. def apply_at(arr, func, i): return arr[0:i] + [func(arr[i])] + arr[i+1:] apply_at(inp, lambda x: x.upper(), 1) One uses list comprehensions (this one assumes the length of the tuple is known). [(a,b.upper(),c) for a,b,c in [inp]][0] Is there a better way? Thanks!

  • Compiled query using list of class objects in C#

    - by Sukan
Hello , Can somebody help me out in creating compiled queries where input is to be a list of class objects? I have seen examples where Func<DataContext, somematchobject, IQueryable<T>> is created and compiled. But can I do something like Func<List<T>, matchObject, T>, and compile it? Basically I want an object(T) meeting certain conditions (as in matchObject) to be returned from a list of objects(List<T>). Will CompiledQuery.Compile help me in this? Please help me experts!!

  • pointer to const member function typedef

    - by oldcig
I know it's possible to separate to create a pointer to member function like this struct K { void func() {} }; typedef void FuncType(); typedef FuncType K::* MemFuncType; MemFuncType pF = &K::func; Is there similar way to construct a pointer to a const function? I've tried adding const in various places with no success. I've played around with gcc some and if you do template deduction on something like template <typename Sig, typename Klass> void deduce(Sig Klass::*); It will show Sig with as a function signature with const just tacked on the end. If to do this in code it will complain that you can't have qualifiers on a function type. Seems like it should be possible somehow because the deduction works.

  • Import a number of csv files and replace NA by Zeros

    I know how to do this individually. However, I have more than 1000 files. I decided to use a for loop. However, it seems like I did not find the correct way to evaluate my variables. Here is my code setwd('C:/data') filenames=dir() #find file names for (i in filenames){ adt = substr(x = i, start = 1, stop = nchar(i)-4) name=paste("data_", adt, sep="") assign(name, read.csv(i,header=T,sep=",")) #read each file and assign a variable name starting with data_ to it func=paste('name[is.na(name)] <- 0',sep="") # here is the place I have problem. R will not consider name is a parameter whose values change in each iteration eval((text=func)) }

  • Why is this std::bind not converted to std::function?

    Why is the nested std::bind in the below code not implicitly converted to an std::function<void()> by any of the major compilers (VS2010/2012, gcc, clang)? Is this standard behavior, or a bug? #include <functional> void bar(int, std::function<void()>) { } void foo() { } int main() { std::function<void(int, std::function<void()>)> func; func = std::bind(bar, 5, std::bind(foo)); std::cin.get(); return 0; }

  • C++0x, How do I expand a tuple into variadic template function arguments?

    - by Gustaf
Consider the case of a templated function with variadic template arguments: template<typename Tret, typename... T> Tret func(const T&... t); Now, I have a tuple t of values. How do I call func() using the tuple values as arguments? I've read about the bind() function object, with call() function, and also the apply() function in different some now-obsolete documents. The GNU GCC 4.4 implementation seems to have a call() function in the bind() class, but there is very little documentation on the subject. Some people suggest hand-written recursive hacks, but the true value of variadic template arguments is to be able to use them in cases like above. Does anyone have a solution to is, or hint on where to read about it?

  • Tkinter after that survives clock rewinding.

    - by Oren
I noticed that in my version of Tkinter, the after() call does not survive system clock rewinding. If the after(x, func) was called, and the system clock was rewinded, func will be called only after the clock returned to its time before the rewind + x milliseconds. I assume this is because Tkinter uses the system-clock instead of the "time.clock" (the amount of time that the program is running). I tested it only on windows, and maybe its because I have an old version of Tkinter. I want my App to work on computers that synchronize their clock from the network... Does anyone have a simple solution?

  • Why is forwarding variadic parameters invalid?

    - by awesomeyi
Consider the variadic function parameter: func foo(bar:Int...) -> () { } Here foo can accept multiple arguments, eg foo(5,4). I am curious about the type of Int... and its supported operations. For example, why is this invalid? func foo2(bar2:Int...) -> () { foo(bar2); } Gives a error: Could not find an overload for '_conversion' that accepts the supplied arguments Why is forwarding variadic parameters invalid? What is the "conversion" the compiler is complaining about?

  • OpenGLES iPhone Depth Blending problem

    - by user359103
Hi, I am trying to make an OpenGLES 2.0 cube application. The idea was to have a texture (with an alpha 75%) applied to all 6 faces of the cube. This would mean that even if I rotate the cube i would be able to see all 6 faces at any given frame. Now I have enabled depth test(my app needs this!!) and blending. The Depth func is LEQUAL and blend func is SRC_ALPHA, ONE_MINUS_SRC_ALPHA. Now, the issue is that at some cube faces don't show the underlying faces. I am not able to understand this because the logic works fine with the other cube faces. Just for the record, I have disabled CULL_FACE. Thanks in advance. Regards, Puzzler

All, Consider the following code: void func(void) { int a; printf ("%d", a); } int main(int argc, char **argv) { int a = 3; func(); printf("%d", a); } According to my understanding, the output should be: <junk value><3> Can anyone please confirm my understanding? My basic query is, does the compiler refer to the outer scope for a variable that has been declared but not defined? Regards, darkie

  • parsing Two-dimensional array in c

    - by gitter78
I'm trying to parse an array that looks like the one below: char *arr[][2] = { { "1", "Purple" }, { "2", "Blue" }, { "22", "Red" }, ... }; I was thinking having a loop as: char *func(char *a){ for(i = 0; i<sizeof(arr)/sizeof(arr[0]);i++){ if(strstr(a,arr[i][0])!=NULL) return arr[i][1]; } } char *out; const char *hello = "this is my 2 string"; out = func(hello); In this case, I'm trying to get the second value based on the first one: Purple, Blue Red, etc.. The question is how would go in parsing this and instead of printing out the value, return the value. UPDATE/FIXED: It has been fixed above. Thanks

  • How to bind to foreach context ?

  • How do I put a vector inside of a struct in Go?

  • How to create and Expression tree to do the same as "StartsWith"

    - by Jonathan
Hi to all. Currently, I have this method to compare two numbers Private Function ETForGreaterThan(ByVal query As IQueryable(Of T), ByVal propertyValue As Object, ByVal propertyInfo As PropertyInfo) As IQueryable(Of T) Dim e As ParameterExpression = Expression.Parameter(GetType(T), "e") Dim m As MemberExpression = Expression.MakeMemberAccess(e, propertyInfo) Dim c As ConstantExpression = Expression.Constant(propertyValue, propertyValue.GetType()) Dim b As BinaryExpression = Expression.GreaterThan(m, c) Dim lambda As Expression(Of Func(Of T, Boolean)) = Expression.Lambda(Of Func(Of T, Boolean))(b, e) Return query.Where(lambda) End Function It works fine and is consumed in this way query = ETForGreaterThan(query, Value, propertyInfo) As you can see, I give it an IQueryable collection and it add a where clause to it, base on a property and a value. Y can construct Lessthan, LessOrEqualThan etc equivalents as Expression has this operators predefined. ¿How can I transform this code to do the same with strings? Expression don't give me a predefined operator like "contains" or "startwith" and I'm really noob with Expression trees. Thanks, and please Post your answer in C#/VB. Choose the one that make you feel more confortable.

  • To use package properly, how to arrange directory, file name, unit test file?

    - by Stephen Hsu
My source files tree is like this: /src /pkg /foo foo.go foo_test.go Inside foo.go: package foo func bar(n int) { ... } inside foo_test.go: package foo func testBar(t *testing.T) { bar(10) ... } My questions are: Does package name relates to directory name, source file name? If there is only one source file for a package, need I put it in a directory? Should I put foo.go and foo_test.go in the same package? In the foo_test.go, as it's in the same package as foo.go, I didn't import foo. But when I compile foo_test.go with 6g, it says bar() is undefined. What should I do?
