• navbar hover issue in ie7

  I'm having a problem with a child list not hovering correctly in IE7. Other browsers and IE7 seem to work fine. • asp.net ajax toolkit combobox doesn't work in hidden div

  I have a combobox inside a hidden div which I use css display = none to make it invisible, but when I make the div visible by setting display = block, the combobox just show the input and its button and ul list all have css as display = 'none', visibility ='hidden'. I can tell it is done by combobox inbuild javascript because I tried to use javascript to set the css manually with no luck. It is a bug of combobox. Urgent help needed. I spent a week to solve this, and our team put a lot trust on the toolkit. Please help me on this, all javascript gurus, thanks. Below is the code to reproduce the bug. • Why is postgresql update query so slow sometimes, even with index

  i have a simple update query (foo column type is BOOLEAN (default false)): update tablename set foo = true where id = 234; which "id" is set to (primary) key, and if i run "explain analyze" i got: Index Cond: (id = 234) Total runtime: 0.358 ms but still, i have plenty of unexplained queries at slow log (pgfouine), which took more than 200s (?!): Times executed: 99, Av. duration (s): 70 can anyone please explain, whats the reason for that? (1.5 mio rows in table, postgresql 8.4)

  stackoverflow, I am experimenting with implementing OpenID in my existing site. I have looked at Plaxo's article on this very subject and I'm a mite confused about something. I am using this PHP OpenID library. I have some code running, and I am getting a unique OpenID back. From myopenid.com, I am getting an id that looks like https://mecablaze.myopenid.com/ But from Yahoo and Google, I am getting an ID that much more cryptic, e.g. https://www.google.com/accounts/o8/id?id=AItOawlbp1cxujdJWDnpx72xVROOw-5V_WzIDZA Are Google's and Yahoo's "gibberish" ids unique for every login user, i.e. is this the value that I use to tie in with existing user on my web app?

  I'm messing around with the Objective-C runtime, trying to compile objective-c code without linking it against libobjc, and I'm having some segmentation fault problems with a program, so I generated an assembly file from it. I think it's not necessary to show the whole assembly file. So, my question is, what is callq *l_objc_msgSend_fixup_alloc supposed to do and what is objc_msgSend_fixup (after l_objc_msgSend_fixup_alloc:) supposed to be (a function or an object)? Edit To better explain, I'm not linking my source file against the objc library. What I'm trying to do is implement some parts of the libray, just to see how it works. I think it is objc_msgSend_fixup, in this case. So, when objc_msgSend_fixup is called, it receives an object as one of its parameters, and, if this object hasn't been initialized, the function fails. So, I've implemented my own version of objc_msgSend_fixup. According to the assembly source above, it should be called. It doesn't matter if the function is actually looking for the implementation of the selector passed as parameter. I just want objc_msgSend_lookup to be called. But, it's not being called, that is, the function that looks for the object's data is not even being called, instead of being called and cause a fault (because it returns a nil (which, by the way, doesn't matter)). The program seg fails before objc_msgSend_lookup is called...

• Having issue Deserializing array from an XML string

  I'm having issues trying to deserializing my xml string that was from a dataset.. Here is the XML layout.. <DataSet> <User> <UserName>Test</UserName> <Email>[email protected]</Email> <Details> <ID>1</ID> <Name>TestDetails</Name> <Value>1</Value> </Details <Details> <ID>2</ID> <Name>Testing</Name> <Value>3</Value> </Details </User> </DataSet> Now I am able to deserialize the "UserName" and "Email" when doing public class User { public string UserName {get;set;} public string Email {get;set;} public Details[] Details {get;set;} } public class Details { public int ID {get;set;} public string Name {get;set;} public string Value {get;set;} } This deserializes fine when I just get the user node, the Details isnt null but has no items in it.. i know I am suppose to have between all the details but I rather not modify the XML, anyways to get this to deserialize properly without recreating the XML after I get it?

  The code below show whiche thing that is failing in my appliaction. It is a quick add information form, fill out the form and submit it add a new entry into a database and synchronize my a databasle.. This is all done with ajax. The first form submission happens correctly but the second one fails to run the desired ActionListener. The second form is posting to the server though but the saveAction isn't invoke. As you will see, I'm a real beginner with this technologies ... The exception to this is when the on page load the select menu already has the 2nd menu item selected, the field does not show. • Best strategy for synching data in iPhone app

  I am working on a regular iPhone app which pulls data from a server (XML, JSON, etc...), and I'm wondering what is the best way to implement synching data. Criteria are speed (less network data exchange), robustness (data recovery in case update fails), offline access and flexibility (adaptable when the structure of the database changes slightly, like a new column). I know it varies from app to app, but can you guys share some of your strategy/experience? For me, I'm thinking of something like this: 1) Store Last Modified Date in iPhone 2) Upon launching, send a message like getNewData.php?lastModifiedDate=... 3) Server will process and send back only modified data from last time. 4) This data is formatted as so: <+><data id="..."></data></+> // add this to SQLite/CoreData <-><data id="..."></data></-> // remove this <%><data id="..."><attribute>newValue</attribute></data></%> // new modified value I don't want to make <+, <-, <%... for each attribute as well, because it would be too complicated, so probably when receive a <% field, I would just remove the data with the specified id and then add it again (assuming id here is not some automatically auto-incremented field). 5) Once everything is downloaded and updated, I will update the Last Modified Date field. The main problem with this strategy is: If the network goes down when I am updating something = the Last Modified Date is not yet updated = next time I relaunch the app, I will have to go through the same thing again. Not to mention potential inconsistent data. If I use a temporary table for update and make the whole thing atomic, it would work, but then again, if the update is too long (lots of data change), the user has to wait a long time until new data is available. Should I use Last-Modified-Date for each of the data field and update data gradually?

• navbar hover issue in ie8

  I'm having a problem with a child list not hovering correctly in IE8. Other browsers and IE7 seem to work fine.   Example: SELECT id, name FROM user WHERE id IN (1,2,3,4,5) ORDER BY FIELD(id, 2, 3, 4, 1, 5) I've seen some examples using FIND_IN_SET() or FIELD() functions. Which one is better? Are there any more efficient approaches? Order is supposed to change rarely.

  Hi all! I have a problem selecting a checked radio button with jquery. The radio buttons are generated by a function from a MVC that i'd rather not change and its name is like id[number]. Simply put, I have to check if any of these buttons are checked: <input type="radio" name="id[1]" value="1"/ <input type="radio" name="id[1]" value="2"/ The problem is that jQuery('input:radio[name=id[1]]:checked').val() will select some function from the jQuery library. • Simple Prototype.js code to select multiple elements with the same classname

  I have one link with an id of "link", and I use the javascript below to open that link up in a modalbox: #In my template I have: <a href="some/path" id="link">link</a> #Then in my application.js file I have: document.observe('dom:loaded', function() { $('login-link').observe('click', function(event) { event.stop(); Modalbox.show(this.href,{title: 'some title', width: 500}); }); }) Since id's must be unique, this javascript only works for one element per page so I use it to observe my login-link and it has served me well. Until now. I want to use the same javascript to observe multiple links which have classnames instead of id's as below: <a href="link/to/some/stuff" class="link">link 1</a> <a href="link/to/some/other/stuff" class="link">link 2</a> When I do this, I can't get any of the links to open in a modalbox. If I change the class to an id for each link, then I can get the first link in the list to open in a modalbox. I've tried to use the '$$' notation to build an array of links in my javascript (shown below) but if I do that, then none of the links open correctly #document.observe method removed for display purposes $$('link').observe('click', function(event) { event.stop(); Modalbox.show(this.href,{title: 'some title', width: 500} ); }); My javascript skills obviously suck. Does anyone know how to fix the problem?
