• dynamically scan pictures in a folder and display using jquery slideshow

  guys, anyone know how to scan a folder using jquery or javascript code snippet, after that get a picture file name and embed in <li></li> or <div></div>, i've used php code to read through the folder and loop through the element to display the thumbnails and all, but it's not work well. I've try on galleria, gallerific, galleryView jquery slideshow plugin but those might not work well with php processing because of predefined configuration or something, can anyone tweak or hack these gallery to dynamically read an image from a folder?

• How do you use FastInfoset with JAXWS?

  I've got code that looks like it should be correct based on what I can find, but the spewed output doesn't indicate that it's using FastInfoset. My understanding is the Accept should indicate it can accept Fastinfoset and the response would actually use it, meaning it's not text/xml as the response type. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've scoured with Google and I'm having a hard time finding much detail on how to use FastInfoset at all. • manipulate content inserted by ajax, without using the callback

  I am using ajax to insert a series of informational blocks via a loop. The blocks each have a title, and long description in them that is hidden by default. They function like an accordion, only showing one description at a time amongst all of the blocks. The problem is opening the description on the first block. I would REALLY like to do it with javascript right after the loop that is creating them is done. • Android How to get position of selected item from gridview without using onclicklistner, using ontouchlistner instead

  I have a gridview, I need to do stuff on motioneven.action_down and do something for motioneven.action_up ... using onclicklistener is great but does not give me this needed functionality. Is there anyway to easily call the gridview and get its selected item in a ontouchlistener ? I've been having limited success with making my own implementation. Its hard to get the right x,y because if i call the child it gives me the x and y relative to the child so a button would be 0,0 to 48,48 but it does not tell you the actual location on the screen relative to the gridview or the screen itself. this is what i've been doing, its partially working so far. • SQLBrowser will not start

  SQL Server 2005 x64 on Windows Server 2003 x64, with multiple instances (default + 2 named). Engineers moved server to a different domain. Since then, cannot get SQLBrowser to start. Still able to query the default instance, and can access named instances by port (TCP:hostname,port#). When on server, can use SSMS to connect to the instances, all is well from that perspective. No errors in the SQL Server logs. As SQLBrowser is starting, an entry in EventViewer.Application says that one of the named instances has an invalid configuration, but I haven't been able to figure out what is invalid. Startup continues, and next message says "The SQLBrowser service was unable to establish SQL instance and connectivity discovery." Next, it enables instance and connectivity discovery support; next, another message about that same named instance having an invalid configuration; then an event says that SQLBrowser has started; last, an event shows the SQLBrowser service has shutdown. I got SQLBrowser to get past the issue with the first named instance by temporarily renaming a registry entry, and now the second named instance can be accessed by name rather than port. Still, cannot access the first named instance by name. Advice?

• Publishing WCF .NET 3.5 to IIS 5.1

  I've been developing a WCF web service using .NET 3.5 with IIS7 and it works perfectly on my local computer. I tried publishing it to a server running IIS 5.1 and even though I can view the WSDL in my browser, the client application doesn't seem to be connecting to it correctly. I launched a packet sniffing app (Charles Proxy) and the response for the first message comes back to the client empty (0 bytes). Every message after the first one times out. The WCF service is part of a larger application that uses ASP .NET 3.5. That application has been working fine on IIS 5.1 for awhile now so I think it's something specific to WCF. I also tried throwing an exception in the SVC file to see if it made it that far and the exception never got thrown so I have a feeling it's something more low level that's not working. Any thoughts? Is there anything I need to install on the IIS5 server? If so how am I still able to view the WSDL in my browser?

  I'm developing a web application, and facing some security problems. In my app users can send messages and see other's (a bulletin board like app). I'm validating all the form fields that users can send to my app. There are some very easy fields, like "nick name", that can be 6-10 alpabetical characters, or message sending time, which is sended to the users as a string, and then (when users ask for messages, that are "younger" or "older" than a date) I parse this with SimpleDateFormat (I'm developing in java, but my question is not related to only java). The big problem is the message field. I can't restrict it to only alphabetical characters (upper or lowercase), because I have to deal with some often use characters like ",',/,{,} etc... (users would not be satisfied if the system didn't allow them to use these stuff) According to this http://ha.ckers.org/xss.html, there are a lot of ways people can "hack" my site. But I'm wondering, is there any way I can do to prevent that? Not all, because there is no 100% protection, but I'd like a solution that can protect my site. I'm using servlets on the server side, and jQuery, on the client side. My app is "full" AJAX, so users open 1 JSP, then all the data is downloaded and rendered by jQuery using JSON. (yeah, I know it's not "users-without-javascript" friendly, but it's 2010, right? :-) ) I know front end validation is not enough. I'd like to use 3 layer validation: - 1. front end, javascript validate the data, then send to the server - 2. server side, the same validation, if there is anything, that shouldn't be there (because of client side javascript), I BAN the user - 3. if there is anything that I wasn't able to catch earlier, the rendering process handle and render appropriately Is there any "out of the box" solution, especially for java? Or other solution that I can use?

  I am having a strange problem while doing ssh. I am not sure where the term Unmatched ` is coming from. • problem with phpMyAdmin advanced features

  Hi all, I am having trouble putting the final touches on my MySQL/Apache/phpMyAdmin install on a Windows XP system. I am trying to get rid of all the error message in phpMyAdmin and I have gotten rid of all of them except the ones related to "advanced features." The exact error message I have is : The additional features for working with linked tables have been deactivated. To find out why click here. I have read up on the cause of the errors but I must be missing something because I still cannot get the warning to go away. Here is what I have done: Created a linked-tables infrastructure (default name "phpmyadmin") per the phpMyAdmin instructions and enabled "pmadb" in my "config.inc.php" file. Specified (enabled) the table names in my "config.inc.php" file (there are 9 tables total). Created a "controluser" and granted only Select privilages per phpMyAdmin instructions Adjusted "controluser" pma and "controlpass" pmapass in "config.inc.php" file From what I can see these are all the instruction phpMyAdmin gives on this subject, and I am unable to locate any tutorials on the specifics of "advanced features" in phpMyAdmin. Any help would be appreciated, and be gentle, this is my first go with MySQL/phpMyAdmin

I tried using HttpServletResponse object, response.sendError("error message", 500); But this made browser to think it's real 500 so output web page was regular Http 500 error page. What I want to is just to return status code so that my Javascript on client side can handle some logic depending on what HTTP status code is returned. (maybe just to display the error code and message on html page.) Is it possible to do so? or should HTTP status code not be used for such thing?

When a user clicks on the contact, a bunch of messages or whatever appears in the main part of the window. Now my question is: how should the MVVM triads look? I have two models: Contact, and Message. The Contact model contains a list of Message models. Each ViewModel object will contain a single corresponding Model, right? And what about the Views? I have a "MainView" that is the main window, that will have things like the menu, toolbar etc. Do I put the ListBox in the MainView? My confusion is with what to put where; for example, what should the ContactView contain? Just a single instance of a contact? So the DataTemplate, ControlTemplate, context menus, styles etc for that single contact, and then just have a ListBox of them in the MainView...? Thanks.
