  • How i zoom perticular part of UIScrollView?

    - by Rajendra Bhole
HI, I develop an application in which i want to implement the splash screen, on that splash screen i want to bind the scrollView and UIImage. My code as follow, -(void)splashAnimation{ window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 420)]; //scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:[window bounds]]; scrollView.pagingEnabled = NO; scrollView.bounces = NO; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"splash.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; imageView.userInteractionEnabled = NO; [scrollView addSubview:imageView]; [scrollView setDelegate:self]; //[scrollView release]; } - (void)applicationDidFinishLaunching:(UIApplication *)application { [self splashAnimation]; [self initControllers]; [window addSubview:[mainTabBarController view]]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; } On my given code the one blank window comes up and stay on. I want to on that blank screen bind my splash.png. *The Above problem is solved* My current code is scrollView.pagingEnabled = NO; scrollView.bounces = NO; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageNamed:@"splash.png"]; UIImageView *imageView = [[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]; imageView.userInteractionEnabled = NO; [scrollView addSubview:imageView]; scrollView.maximumZoomScale = 4.0f; scrollView.minimumZoomScale = 1.0f; CGRect rect = CGRectMake(119, 42, 208, 166); [scrollView zoomToRect:rect animated:YES]; [scrollView setDelegate:self]; [window addSubview:scrollView]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; i want to zoom the particular part of scrollView.

  • UIMenuController Custom Items

    - by Joshua
I have created a UIMenuController and have set it a custom menu item like so: UIMenuController *menuController = [UIMenuController sharedMenuController]; UIMenuItem *item1 = [[UIMenuItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Do This" action:@selector(item1)]; [menuController setMenuItems:[NSArray arrayWithObject:item1]]; But I wanted that object to be the only one to appear so I added this code: - (BOOL)canPerformAction: (SEL)action withSender: (id)sender { BOOL answer = NO; if (action == @selector(item1)) answer = YES; return answer; } The problem is it still shows other## Heading ## items, such as "Select", "Select All" and "Paste". This may have something to do with this being displayed in a UITextView. But how do I stop if from displaying all other items?

  • UIImageView rotation (NOT the image, but the view)

    - by Kuko
Hi. How do I rotate the ImageView ... i'm trying to use landscape mode, and have a problem with accelerometer moving the image ... Because when I work in portrait mode the x of accelerometer is the same as the x of the image ... But when I work landscape, the x of accelerometer is the y of the image, because the ImageView autorotates with the parent View. When I rotate the image with CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(M_PI/2), it rotates only the image in it's ImageView... and the x,y sides stays untouched ... Is there any way to make own class which will extend UIImageView where I will swap the x,y sides of a UIImageView ? Or is there some way to rotate the UIImageView, and not only the image in it?

  • Why I cannot get correct class of a custom class through isKindOfClass?

    - by Anthony Chan
Hi, I've created a custom class AnimalView which is a subclass of UIView containing a UILabel and a UIImageView. @interface AnimalView : UIView { UILabel *nameLabel; UIImageView *picture; } Then I added in several AnimalView onto the ViewController.view. In the touchesBegan:withEvent: method, I wanted to detect if the touched object is an AnimalView or not. Here is the code for the viewController: @implementation AppViewController - (void)viewDidLoad { UIScrollView *scrollView = [[UIScrollView alloc] initWithFrame:... [self.view addSubview scrollview]; for (int i = 0; i<10; i++) { AnimalView *newAnimal = [[AnimalView alloc] init]; // customization of newAnimal [scrollview addSubview:newAnimal; } } - (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [touches anyObject]; UIView *hitView = touch.view; if ([hitView isKindOfClass:[AnimalView class]]) { AnimalView *animal = (AnimalView *)hitView; [animal doSomething]; } } However, nothing happened when I clicked on the animal. When I checked the class of hitView by NSLog(@"%@", [hitView class]), it always shows UIView instead of AnimalView. Is it true that the AnimalView changed to a UIView when it is added onto the ViewController? Is there any way I can get back the original class of a custom class?

  • UINavigationBar is getting buttons from another view

    - by Rafael Oliveira
I have three Views, Splash, Login and List. From Splash I just wait and then Push Login View, with the Navigation Bar hidden. In Login I Show the NavigationBar, hide the BackButton1 and add a new RightButton1, then I check if Settings.bundle "login" and "pass" are set. If so, I push List View. Otherwise I stay in the Login view waiting for the user to fill the form and press a button. In List View I add a new RightButton2 and a new BackButton2. The problem is that if Settings.bundle data is not null, and in Login View I quickly push List View the RightButton1 appears in List View, or no buttons appear at all, or only BackButton2 doesn't appear... The most strange thing of all is that everything was OK and all of sudden it started to get messy. Login View: // Making the Navigation Bar Visible [self.navigationController setNavigationBarHidden:NO animated:NO]; // Hiding the Back Button in THIS view (Login) [self.navigationItem setHidesBackButton:YES]; // Inserting the Logout Button for the Next View (List) UIBarButtonItem *backButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Logout" style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:nil action:nil]; self.navigationItem.backBarButtonItem = backButton; [backButton release]; UIBarButtonItem* newAccountButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"New Account" style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(newAccountButtonPressed)]; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = newAccountButton; [newAccountButton release]; List View // Making the Navigation Bar Visible [self.navigationController setNavigationBarHidden:NO animated:NO]; UIBarButtonItem* aboutButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"About" style:UIBarButtonItemStylePlain target:self action:@selector(aboutButtonPressed)]; self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem = aboutButton; [aboutButton release]; Any ideas ?

  • Darkening UIView while flipping over using UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight

    - by Alexander Repty
I'm using a standard animation block to flip over from one view to another, like this: [UIView beginAnimations:@"FlipAnimation" context:self]; [UIView setAnimationTransition:UIViewAnimationTransitionFlipFromRight forView:self.view cache:NO]; [UIView setAnimationBeginsFromCurrentState:NO]; [containerView exchangeSubviewAtIndex:1 withSubviewAtIndex:0]; [UIView commitAnimations]; During the animation's course, the "from" view darkens as it begins to flip over. Since I'm using nearly identical views on both sides which don't cover the whole view (it's meant to represent a physical card being flipped over), this looks absolutely horrible. Using [UIColor clearColor] as the backgroundColor property for every associated UIView didn't help one bit as transparent areas seem to get darkened as well. Any ideas on how I could get rid of this darkening effect?

  • As a game developer, which data structure use for develop the game? [duplicate]

    - by Rizwanabbasi
This question already has an answer here: When should vector/list be used? 5 answers We are developing a game for bank robbery. The game plots a bank robbery. Lots of people witness that robbery. Our game will load the lists of suspected offenders while the players (witnesses) will have to identify the offenders of this robbery. Game should load list of offenders to identify the one as quickly as possible. Admin can add/remove offenders in the lists and two or more lists of offenders can also be merged into one (to show it to the player). As a game developer, which data structure we should use for develop the game? Justify your selection with solid arguments. Remember the most critical requirement is that the list should load super fast.

  • Why we used double and triple pointer in objective-C or C language?

    - by Rajendra Bhole
Hi, I confused when i want to take single pointer and when should i take double pointer? In following structure what exactly did? struct objc_class { Class isa; Class super_class; const char *name; long version; long info; long instance_size; struct objc_ivar_list *ivars; struct objc_method_list **methodLists; struct objc_cache *cache; struct objc_protocol_list *protocols; }; Why we use the "**methodLists" double pointer. Edited int sqlite3_get_table( sqlite3 *db, const char zSql, char **pazResult, int *pnRow, int *pnColumn, char *pzErrmsg ); In above scenario what will be meaning of triple pointer char **pazResult?

  • Dragging a Sprite (Cocos2D) while Chipmunk is simulating

    - by itai alter
Hello all! I have a simple project built with Cocos2D and Chipmunk. So far it's just a Ball (body, shape & sprite) bouncing on the Ground (a static line segment at the bottom of the screen). I implemented the ccTouchesBegan/Moved/Ended methods to drag the ball around. I've tried both: cpBodySlew(ballBody, touchPoint, 1.0/60.0f); and ballBody->p = cgPointMake(touchPoint.x,touchPoint.y); and while the Ball does follow my dragging, it's still being affected by gravity and it tries to go down (which causes velocity problems and others). Does anyone know of the preferred way to Drag an active Body while the physics simulation is going on? Do I need somehow to stop the simulation and turn it back on afterwards? Thanks!

  • UISearchBar Above Navigation Bar

    - by JonB
Hi, All the applications I have ever seen, that use UINavigationBars, have the UINavigationBar right at the top of the app. If you want to use a UISearchBar then it's usually in the 'header' of the UITableView such as this... What I would like to do is to put a UISearchBar object above/outside of the UINavigationBar/Controller, but i've been having some problems doing this. Firstly, is what I want to achieve even possible? What would the easiest way to do this be? Starting with the navigation based application seems to make the navigationbar/view un-resizeable! Thanks, Jon

  • UISearchDisplayController not working when created in code??

    - by Nick Bedford
I'm working on a tab bar application and one of the tabs has a UISearchDisplayController hooked up to a UISearchBar. It's all connected up in the NIB and is working. When I tap the search bar, the Scope and Cancel buttons fly in etc, and the search delegate updates the results table correctly. However, I'm trying to implement the same code in the viewDidLoad message instead of the NIB, however when I delete the search display controller from the NIB and uncomment my code to create the same controller in the function, it doesn't work. It's as if there's some fundamental connection not being made so that all my search delegate functionality isn't being called. Here's my working NIB version of the Search Display Controller. It's hooked up to the search bar, the UINavigationController subclass (MASearchController) and the root view of that is hooked up as the searchContentsController. Now this is what you would expect to do in code to create the same, right? What I'm doing is leaving the UISearchBar in the NIB to eliminate one piece of the puzzle at a time in code. // [MASearchController viewDidLoad] UISearchDisplayController *searchController = [[[UISearchDisplayController alloc] initWithSearchBar:searchBar contentsController:[[self viewControllers] objectAtIndex:0]] autorelease]; [searchController setDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDelegate:self]; [searchController setSearchResultsDataSource:self]; I've checked all objects at run time and they all check out. Essentially I've deleted the search display controller from the NIB and then put in the code to create it in the viewDidLoad message. Why would this not work? The search keyboard comes up but none of my search and button animation functionality work???

  • How to identify WHICH NSURLConnection did finish loading when there are multiple ones?

    - by RexOnRoids
Multiple NSURLConnections being started (in a single UIViewController) to gather different kinds of data. When they return (-connectionDidFinishLoading) I wanna do stuff with the data, depending on the type of data that has arrived. But one prob, HOW DO I KNOW WHICH NSURLConnection returned? I need to know so I can take action specific to the type of data that came. (Eg. display a twitter update if it was the twitter xml data)(Eg. display an image if it was a photo) How do people usually solve this?

  • Before data is entered, is there a way to make a grouped table graphic placeholder?

    - by Matt Winters
I have a grouped table with 3 sections, each section with a title. The 1st and 3rd sections always have only 1 row of information so before any user data is entered, I just put some words like "Enter Data Here..." as placeholder text. This text is edited (replaced) by the user with their own actual data. No problem. The 2nd section however will contain several rows of information entered by user and I'd prefer not to enter placeholder data in row 0, having the user Edit the first row of data then Add subsequent rows. If the numberOfRowsInSection is set to 0, the title for the 3rd section comes close to the title for the 2nd section and it looks ugly. The best that I could come with, and I don't know to do it, is to have a fake graphic placeholder on the striped background (between the 2nd and third titles) that looks like a single row in the 2nd section, put "Enter Data Here..." text in the graphic, and then the first row of actual data entered and all subsequent rows will cover it up. Can anyone tell me how to do this or offer a better suggestion. Thanks.

  • Blurry UILabel as programmatic subview of UITableViewCell contentView

    - by Alex Reynolds
    I am adding a UILabel instance as a subview of my custom UITableViewCell instance's contentView. When I select the cell, the row is highlighted blue, except for the background of the label. The label text is sharp. When I set the label and content view backgroundColor property to [UIColor clearColor], the label text becomes blurry. How do I set the label background color to be clear, to allow the row highlight to come through, while still keeping the label text sharp? One suggestion I read elsewhere was to round the label's frame values, but this did not have any effect. CODE Here is a snippet of my custom UITableViewCell subview's -setNeedsLayout method: UILabel *_objectTitleLabel = [[UILabel alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectNull]; _objectTitleLabel.text = [self.awsObject cleanedKey]; _objectTitleLabel.font = [UIAppDelegate defaultObjectLabelFont]; _objectTitleLabel.highlightedTextColor = [UIColor clearColor]; //[UIAppDelegate defaultLabelShadowTint]; _objectTitleLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor clearColor]; //[UIAppDelegate defaultWidgetBackgroundTint]; _objectTitleLabel.frame = CGRectMake( kCellImageViewWidth + 2.0 * self.indentationWidth, 0.5 * (self.tableView.rowHeight - 1.5 * kCellLabelHeight) + kCellTitleYPositionNudge, contentViewWidth, kCellLabelHeight ); _objectTitleLabel.frame = CGRectIntegral(_objectTitleLabel.frame); _objectTitleLabel.tag = kObjectTableViewCellTitleSubviewType; //NSLog(@"_objectTitleLabel: %@", NSStringFromCGRect(_objectTitleLabel.frame)); [self.contentView addSubview:_objectTitleLabel]; [_objectTitleLabel release], _objectTitleLabel = nil; ... self.contentView.backgroundColor = [UIAppDelegate defaultWidgetBackgroundTint]; self.contentView.clearsContextBeforeDrawing = YES; self.contentView.autoresizesSubviews = YES; self.contentView.clipsToBounds = YES; self.contentView.contentMode = UIViewContentModeRedraw;
