  • In C, how do you capture a group with regex?

    - by Sylvain
Hi, I'm trying to extract a string from another using regex. I'm using the POSIX regex functions (regcomp, regexec ...), and I fail at capturing a group ... For instance, let the pattern be something as simple as "MAIL FROM:<(.*)>" (with REG_EXTENDED cflags) I want to capture everything between '<' and '' My problem is that regmatch_t gives me the boundaries of the whole pattern (MAIL FROM:<...) instead of just what's between the parenthesis ... What am I missing ? Thanks in advance,

  • How do I combine an unmanaged dll and a managed assembly into one file?

    - by Lasse V. Karlsen
SQLite from PHX Software has combined a managed assembly (System.Data.SQLite) with an unmanaged dll (the SQLite 32- or 64-bit dll) into one file, and managed to link them together. How do I do this? Do I need to embed the managed assembly into the unmanaged dll, or vice versa? ie. my questions are: In which order do I need to do this? What tools or knowledge do I need in order to do this? How (if different) do I link to the exported functions from the unmanaged dll in my managed code? The reason I ask this is that I want to build a managed zLib wrapper. I know there is managed classes in .NET but from experience they're a bit limited (and a bit boneheaded in that they don't do proper buffering), so I'd like to create my own copy, also because I want to learn how to do this. So does anyone know what I need to do and how?

  • Most elegant way to morph this sequence

    - by Ed Woodcock
    Hi folks: I've got the Day of the week stored in a database table (that I do not control), and I need to use it in my code. Problem is, I want to use the System.DayOfWeek enum for representation for this, and the sequences are not the same. In the database, it's as follows: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 S M T W T F S I need it as follows: 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 M T W T F S S What's the most elegant way to do this? for example, I could do: i = dayOfWeek; i = i - 2; if (i < 0) { i = 6; } but that's a bit inelegant. Any suggestions?

  • Algorithm for Source Control System?

    - by Michael Stum
I need to write a simple source control system and wonder what algorithm I would use for file differences? I don't want to look into existing source code due to license concerns. I need to have it licensed under MPL so I can't look at any of the existing systems like CVS or Mercurial as they are all GPL licensed. Just to give some background, I just need some really simple functions - binary files in a folder. no subfolders and every file behaves like it's own repository. No Metadata except for some permissions. Overall really simple stuff, my single concern really is how to store only the differences of a file from revision to revision without wasting too much space but also without being too inefficient (Maybe store a full version every X changes, a bit like Keyframes in Videos?)

  • Convert ASP.NET membership system to secure password storage

    - by wrburgess
I have a potential client that set up their website and membership system in ASP.NET 3.5. When their developer set up the system, it seems he turned off the security/hashing aspect of password storage and everything is stored in the clear. Is there a process to reinstall/change the secure password storage of ASP.NET membership without changing all of the passwords in the database? The client is worried that they'll lose their customers if they all have to go through a massive password change. I've always installed with security on by default, thus I don't know the effect of a switchover. Is there a way to convert the entire system to a secure password system without major effects on the users?

  • PHP pass associative array from one function to another wihle keeping keys intact

    - by veronica
    I have two functions and one array function A { $segments = array(); $segments['word']=$var1; $segments['word2']=$var2; $segments['word3']=$var3; return $segments; } function B { $someVar=$segments['word']; $someVar1=$segments['word']; $someVar2=$segments['word']; $vars['other_stuff']... return $vars; } but I am not passing $segments['word']...word3'] to the second function. I am passing $segments[0]; $segments[1]; etc... How can I pass the keys to second function $segments['word'] $segments['word1'] $segments['word2'] Thank you,

  • Is there an easy way to make `boost::ptr_vector` more debugger friendly in Visual Studio?

    - by Billy ONeal
I'm considering using boost::ptr_container as a result of the responses from this question. My biggest problem with the library is that I cannot view the contents of the collection in the debugger, because the MSVC debugger doesn't recognize it, and therefore I cannot see the contents of the containers. (All the data gets stored as void * internally) I've heard MSVC has a feature called "debugger visualizers" which would allow the user to make the debugger smarter about these kinds of things, but I've never written anything like this, and I'm not hugely firmiliar with such things. For example, compare the behavior of boost::shared_ptr with MSVC's own std::tr1::shared_ptr. In the debugger (i.e. in the Watch window), the boost version shows up as a big mess of internal variables used for implementing the shared pointer, but the MSVC version shows up as a plain pointer to the object (and the shared_ptr's innards are hidden). How can I get started either using or implementing such a thing?

  • iphone: accessing the preferences localization file from code

    - by phonecoddy
I was just facing the following problem and couldn't find a solution for it. Hopefully someone could help. The app I am working on has some preferences, which are using a localization file. Now I want to use labels in my app, which display the exact names, which are used in the localization file for the preferences. But I couldn't find a way to access the information which is stored in Settings.bundle - en.lproj - localizationfile.strings. to make this clear: If you open your preferences for your app, the display shows the localized string of the title and the value of the setting. I need to access the localized string of the title of each preference from my code. Does any know how to do this?

  • How to deal with many to many relationships with NSFetchedResultsController?

    - by Phil Yates
OK so I have two entities in my data model (let's say entityA and entityB), both of these entities have a to-many relationship to each other. I have setup a NSFetchedResultsController to fetch a bunch of entityA. Now I'm trying to have the section names for the tableview be the title of entityB. sectionNameKeyPath:@"entityB.title" Now this causes a problem, where by the section name returned from that relationship appears to be ({title1}) or ({title1,title2...titleN}) obviously depending on how many different entityB's are involved. This doesn't look great in a tableview and doesn't group the objects as I would like. What I would like is a section per entityB title with entityA appearing under each section, under multiple sections if necessary. I'm at a loss as how I am supposed to achieve this whether I need to update the predicate to get the entity to appear multiple times or whether I need to update the section and header functions to do some processing as the controller loops through the objects. Any help is appreciated :) Thanks

  • CTE and last known date processing

    - by stackoverflowuser
Input @StartDate = '01/25/2010' @EndDate = '02/06/2010' I have 2 CTEs in a stored procedure as follows: with CTE_A as ( [gives output A..Shown below] ), with CTE_B as ( Here, I want to check if @StartDate is NOT in output A then replace it with the last known date. In this case, since @startdate is less than any date in output A hence @StartDate will become 02/01/2010. Also to check if @EndDate is NOT in output A then replace it with the last known date. In this case, since @enddate is 02/06/2010 hence it will be replace with 02/05/2010. // Here there is a query using @startDate and @EndDate. ) output A Name Date A 02/01/2010 B 02/01/2010 C 02/05/2010 D 02/10/2010

  • Dollar ($) sign in password string treated as variable

    - by ncatnow
Spent some time troubleshooting a problem whereby a PHP/MySQL web application was having problems connecting to the database. The database could be accessed from the shell and phpMyAdmin with the exact same credentials and it didn't make sense. Turns out the password had a $ sign in it: $_DB["password"] = "mypas$word"; The password being sent was "mypas" which is obviously wrong. What's the best way to handle this problem? I escaped the $ with a \ $_DB["password"] = "mypas\$word"; and it worked. I generally use $string = 'test' for strings which is probably how I avoided running into this before. Is this correct behavious? What if this password was stored in a database and PHP pulled it out - would this same problem occur? What am I missing here...

  • ruby c extensions: character values over 127

    - by Adrian
I am trying to make a C extension for Ruby that includes a method returning a string, which will sometimes have character values that need to be in an unsigned char. In http://github.com/shyouhei/ruby/blob/trunk/README.EXT, all of the functions listed for turning C strings into Ruby strings take signed chars. So I couldn't do this: unsigned char bytes[] = {0xf0, 0xf1, 0xf2}; return rb_str_new(bytes, 3); How could I make a method that returns these types of strings? In other words, how would I make a C extension with a method returning "\xff"?

  • Nested mysql select statements

ORDER BY COUNT(comto) DESC")."' LIMIT 3") or die(mysql_error()); while($ow=mysql_fetch_array($sult)){ The code above should return the top 3 'stories' with the most comments {count(comto)}. The comments are stored in a different table from the stories. The code above does not return any values and doesn't show any errors. Could someone please help?

  • JQuery Scrollable List Dissapears if scrolled IE7

    - by namtax
Hi there I have created a time picker using jquery, using the following code // Display Time Picker $('.time').click(function(){ $('.timePicker').remove(); var thisTime = $(this); var timePicker = '<ul class="timePicker">' timePicker += '<li>09:00</li>' timePicker += '<li>09:15</li>' timePicker += '</ul>' thisTime.after(timePicker); $('.timePicker').fadeIn() $('.timePicker li').click(function(){ term = $(this).html(); $(thisTime).val(term); $('.timePicker').remove(); }); }).blur(function(){ $('.timePicker').fadeOut(); }); This adds a dropdown scrollable list of times to any input field with the class "time". This functions as expected in all browsers apart from IE7, where if I scroll the list to choose a time lower down in the list, the list dissapears.. Hope that makes sense, any help would be much appreciated Many thanks

  • (php) how to properly 'save' info in forms completed thus far

    - by hatorade
So i have a form that on paper is 40 pages long. I was going to take the natural sections of this form, and make separate html forms for each section, with the idea that on the first page there would be a first form, then you hit 'Continue to next section' which essentially is the 'submit' button, which moves the user to section two, etc, until they hit the last section. i am not actually storing the results of the form in a database, but rather sending an email. the idea then is to store the separate form answers (one html form per section in the real form) as arrays or objects in the session, so that if they go back to a section in the form, it repopulates the values they entered since they are stored in the session. the result would be an array in the session storing the results for each of my forms, and i have one form for each section. my question is: is it secure to temporarily store things like SSNs or driver's license numbers as session variables? why or why not?

  • Decimal data Type Display scale part as zero

    - by Wael Dalloul
I have Decimal field in SQLserver 2005 table, Price decimal(18, 4) if I write 12 it will be converted to 12.0000, if I write 12.33 it will be converted into 12.3300. Always it's putting zero to the right of the decimal point in the count of Scale Part(4). I was using these in SQL Server 2000, it was not behaving like this, in SQL Server 2000 if I put 12.5 it will be stored as 12.5 not as 12.5000 what SQLServer2005 do. My Question is how to stop SQL Server 2005 from putting zeros to the right of the decimal point?

  • Pageview implementation

    - by The Elite Gentleman
Hi everyone I want to add a pageview feature on my current web application. This page view is based on the count of user viewing the page. It must be unique, i.e. I must not view a person's page 10000 times and record it as 10000 views, just record 1 view instead. My question is, should I base my pageview count on IP address? If not, what is/are the best approach in doing this? I know that if the person has logged in to my system, I can simply use the user id stored in the session and check on the record if the user has/hasn't viewed the page and update accordingly. But for "anonymous" viewers, what is the best approach? Thanks. PS How does Youtube does it?

  • What is the safest way for a PHP script to connect to a local PostgreSQL instance on Linux?

    - by Botond Balázs
I think if I granted the apache user appropriate privileges and used the ident authentication method, that would make the connection more secure because then the password wouldn't need to be stored in a connection string. Also, that way the security of the connection would depend on how secure the host system is. I disabled root login over ssh and only permit public key authentication so I think it is pretty secure. Does this have any significant security benefits or is it just wishful thinking? Is it necessary at all?

  • Interpolating 1D Gaussian into 2D Gaussian

    - by Drazick
Let's say I have a 1D Gaussian function. Its length is 600 for that matter. I want to Interpolate it into 2D Gaussian of the size 600 X 600. This is the code I wrote (OTFx is the Gaussian Function, OTF - 2d Interpolated Function): [x, y] = meshgrid([-300:299], [-300:299]); r = sqrt((x .^ 2) + (y .^ 2)); OTF = interp1([-300:299], OTFx, r(:), 'spline'); OTF = reshape(OTF, [600, 600]); The problem is I get Overshoot at the end: How can I prevent it? Is there better Interpolating algorithm for Monotonic Descending Functions?

  • Access Edit Mode Values of BindingSource Control

    - by Christopher Edwards
I have a BindingSource control (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.forms.bindingsource.aspx) with a datasource of a (single) Linq object. If I change any of the properties of the underlying Linq-to-Sql object then all the other changes on the bound controls on the form are lost. Does anyone now why and how I work around it? I don't want to call EndEdit because this will commit the changes to the underlying object. I think this might be because my underlying object linq-to-sql object does not implement IEditableObject so the potental new values for the object fields are sort of stored in the forms controls. Can anyone either clarify what is going on and/or suggest a work around. Thanks!

  • Data Access Layer in an ASP.NET website

    - by user3519124
:) i have a DAL class file in my project, that my teacher sent me and explained to me but i did not really understand it. It has number of functions, and I understand only few of them, like with connecting to the database or creating a command object but there are 2 that I dont understand: public static DataTable GetTable(string str) { OleDbConnection con = DAL.GetConnection(); OleDbCommand cmd = DAL.GetCommand(con, str); DataTable dt = new DataTable(); OleDbDataAdapter adp = new OleDbDataAdapter(); adp.SelectCommand = cmd; adp.Fill(dt); return dt; } public static int ExecuteNonQuery(string str) { int num = -1; OleDbConnection con = DAL.GetConnection(); con.Open(); if (con.State == ConnectionState.Open) { OleDbCommand cmd = DAL.GetCommand(con, str); num = cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); con.Close(); } return num; } thank you :)

  • Upsert - Efficient Update or Insert in VB.Net, SQL Server

    - by HK1
I'm trying to understand how to streamline the process of inserting a record if none exists or updating a record if it already exists. I'm not using stored procedures, although maybe that would be the most efficient way of doing this. The actual scenario in which this is necessary is saving a user preference/setting to my SettingsUser table. In MS Access I would typically pull a DAO recordset looking for the specified setting. If the recordset comes back empty then I know I need to add a new record which I can do with the same recordset object. On the other hand, if it isn't empty, I can just update the setting's value right away. In theory, this is only two database operations. What is the recommended way of doing this in .NET?

  • How can I prevent SerializeJSON from changing Yes/No/True/False strings to boolean?

    - by Dan Roberts
I have a data struct being stored in JSON format, converted using the serializeJSON function. The problem I am running into is that strings that can be boolean in CF such as Yes,No,True, and False are converted into JSON as boolean values. Below is example code. Any ideas on how to prevent this? Code: <cfset test = {str='Yes'}> <cfset json = serializeJSON(test)> <cfset fromJSON = deserializeJSON(json)> <cfoutput> #test.str#<br> #json#<br> #fromJSON.str# </cfoutput> Result: Yes {"STR":true} YES

  • Naming Optional Parameters in VSB

    - by SteveNeedsSheetNames
In Visual Basic, I have Functions with a lot of Optional arguments. I would like to be able to pass just a few of these Optional arguments to a Function without having to use numerous commas and spaces to get to the ones I want. Somewhere I saw a way to name params such as OptVar:=val, but that does not seem to work. Just wondering if there is a way to do this. This would help readability. Thanks in advance for the replies.
