  • Synchronising scripts / db / files from dev system to web server

    I work as a freelance web dev, and up until now have been ftping my scripts / databases / static files to my web server manually, but I'm finding that is too error prone. So I'm looking for an app to automate uploading new and updated scripts / files / databases / etc. I know a lot of independent devs use WinSCP or Unison, but I don't think those apps can synch databases. Does anyone have any other suggestions? It doesn't need to be anything overly feature rich as I'm not working within a team or across multiple operating systems or anything like that. I can purchase any reasonably priced license if necesary. My work is primarily for PHP / MySQL / Apache on a Windows system, and then uploaded to a Linux / Apache server. thanks for your time!

  • Dynamically showing fields to a Dev Express Grid view on windows form

    In one of windows application in C# , I am using Dev Express Grid view control to bind some data and display it to user. I have custom business objects with properties defined for this purpose.Then I simple set the DataSource of the grid to the list of my custom business objects. A while ago , there came a requirement which means that the columns to be displayed on to the grid will be dynamic. This means I cannot know at design time which fields I will need to display. I was thinking of abandoning setting the DataSource and populating the grid manually by code. But I think this will cause many of the grid's features not to work properly, for example , grouping the data by drag n drop of fields to the header area etc. Is there any way to tell a grid at runtime to skip certain fields from a list of BO's when databinding to the grid ?

  • PyDev and Django: how to restart dev server?

    I'm new to Django. I think I'm making a simple mistake. I launched the dev server with Pydev: RClick on project Django Custom command runserver The server came up, and everything was great. But now I'm trying to stop it, and can't figure out how. I stopped the process in the PyDev console, and closed Eclipse, but web pages are still being served from http://127.0.0.1:8000. I launched and quit the server from the command line normally: python manage.py runserver But the server is still up. What am I doing wrong here?

We use git as our VCS, and our current branching strategy is very simple and broken: we have a master branch and we check changes that we 'feel good about' into it. This works, but only until we check in a breaking change.   • AS3 How to center MC + change background color?

    How do i vertically and horizontally center an image when i do not know the size of it? I asked this question and someone suggested using a table. This isnt the first time i heard a table can do it but i tried without luck. Searching SO only got me results when i do know the size of the image. How do i do this with a table? NOTE: Javascript/jquery is not preferred but if theres a solution with it i'll be open to it.

  • jCarousel Lite - center images horizontally and vertically

    I have jCarousel Lite going in Drupal with images of various sizes/aspect ratios. I'm not having much luck trying to center the images vertically and horizontally (i.e. evenly-spaced). The plugin requires that the images be in a <ul><li><img ... /></li></ul>. I've tried display:inline-block, marginTop:50% among other things, most of which just screw up the carousel.   • Hudson - Maven is failing (cannot create /dev/null/.m2) on Tomcat-6 - Gentoo

    Hi there. I'm having major issues with getting Hudson up and running on a gentoo server with Tomcat 6. I'm able to deploy Hudson just fine, and I can browse the web-application, configure it and set up builds etc. However, when I try to run a build (in example "clean test" on a Maven2 project) I get this error ERROR: Failed to create /dev/null/.m2 I've google'd and for some it seems to be helping to put -DHUDSON_HOME=/home/hudson and -DMAVEN_HOME=/home/hudson in /etc/init.d/tomcat-6's JAVA_OPTS. However, I've tried that and by doing the same in /etc/conf.d/tomcat-6 , but I'm still getting this error. Has any of you had to deal with this before?

  • Extjs 3.4 - Button Icon does not show or does not center

    I want to fill a button with an icon I created but whatever I have tried just seems to put the icon either half cut off and way left, or it doesn't show at all. I've been trying different combinations of CSS and the icon, iconcls, cls button options. I was following the Ext 3 buttons example page but that doesn't seem to display anything for me...   • How to center text in a select list

    I'm having trouble styling a select list in an html form. Basically I want it to have a font size of 12px, and a height of 30px; The problem is that the box is drawn to the right hight, but the text rendering varies in each browser. In FireFox it renders it in the top left corner. I want to vertically center the text. Anyone know of a way to do this or do I need to make something custom out of a ul? Thanks

  • Editing PHP using PHP (admin center)

    Hello, Am developing an admin center where I can edit configuration files (written in PHP). I do NOT want to store these values in a mySQL table (for various reasons). So say my config.php has contents like: <?php $option1 = 1; $option2 = 2; $option4 = 5; $option7 = array('test','a','b',c'); ?> Now say in one of the admin pages I will only be changing a few values like option2 or option4 etc. Any ideas on what would be the best way to go about this. I know one option is to read the PHP file completely and write parts of it using REGEX. Any way to make this more efficent? I don't want the config.php file to break because of some error on the user's end. Any ideas on how to ensure that it works?

  • Call center workflow scenario with WF 4

    I need to develop a workflow for a call center. A bot will ask some predefined questions to the caller. Based on the answers the workflow will decide the questions to ask and finally redirect the caller to a representative that has required skills. Based on the scenario above, I have several questions. How can I make the workflow "wait" between asking a question to the caller and receiving response from the caller? Do I have to use HandleExternalEvent? If so do I have to define an event for every question? Flowchart workflow seems to be the best solution but I can't imagine how to handle this waiting issue right now. Any help is appreciated.

    I've got an issue where I was tying to center images using the jQuery Cycle plugin. I found this solution, but it wasn't working on single images (there isn't always 2 images), so I wrote my own little bit of code, which seems to be working, except it sometimes doesn't subtract the height of the image from the height of the div, and so i end up with a margin of 310px. var $image_cnt = $("#images > img").size(); if($image_cnt < 2) { var $single_img = $("#images").children(':first-child'); var h = $single_img.height(); $single_img.css({ marginTop: (620 - h) / 2, }); $(".next").css("display","none"); $(".prev").css("display","none"); } I haven't used jQuery much, and just wanted to know if I'd missed something simple, or had written something wrong, which is why the marginTop wasn't playing nice.

  • Restore Your PC from Windows Home Server

    If your computer crashes or you get a virus infection that makes it unrecoverable, doing a clean install can be a hassle, let alone getting your data back. If you’re backing up your computers to Windows Home Server, you can completely restore them to the last successful backup. Note: For this process to work you need to verify the PC you want to restore is connected to your network via Ethernet. If you have it connected wirelessly it won’t work. Restore a PC from Windows Home Server On the computer you want to restore, pop in the Windows Home Server Home Computer Restore disc and boot from it. If you don’t have one already made, you can easily make one following these instructions. We have also included the link to the restore disc below. Boot from the CD then select if your machine has 512MB or RAM or more. The disc will initialize… Then choose your language and keyboard settings. Hopefully if everything goes correctly, your network card will be detected and you can continue. However, if it doesn’t like in our example, click on the Show Details button. In the Detect Hardware screen click on the Install Drivers button. Now you will need to have a USB flash drive with the correct drivers on it. It has to be a flash drive or a floppy (if you happen to still have one of those) because you can’t take out the Restore CD. If you want to make sure you have the correct drivers on the USB flash drive, open the Windows Home Server Console on another computer on your network. In the Computers and Backup section right-click on the computer you want to restore and select View Backups. Select the backup you want to restore from and click the Open button in the Restore or view Files section. Now drag the entire contents of the folder named Windows Home Server Drivers for Restore to the USB flash drive. Back to the machine you’re trying to restore, insert the USB flash drive with the correct drivers and click the Scan button. Wait a few moments while the drivers are found then click Ok then Continue.   The Restore Computer Wizard starts up… Enter in your home server password and click Next. Select the computer you want to restore. If it isn’t selected by default you can pull it up from the dropdown list under Another Computer. Make certain you’re selecting the correct machine. Now select the backup you want to restore. In this example we only have one but chances are you’ll have several. If you have several backups to choose from, you might want to check out the details for them. Now you can select the disk from backup and and restore it to the destination volume. You might need to initialize a disk, change a drive letter, or other disk management tasks, if so, then click on Run Disk Manger. For example we want to change the destination drive letter to (C:).   After you’ve made all the changes to the destination disk you can continue with the restore process. If everything looks correct, confirm the restore configuration. If you need to make any changes at this point, you can still go back and make them. Now Windows Home Server will restore your drive. The amount of time it takes will vary depend on the amount of data you have to restore, network connection speed, and hardware. You are notified when the restore successfully completes. Click Finish and the PC will reboot and be restored and should be working correctly. All the updates, programs, and files will be back that were saved to the last successful backup. Anything you might have installed after that backup will be gone. If you have your computers set to backup every night, then hopefully it won’t be a big issue.   Conclusion Backing up the computers on your network to Windows Home Server is a valuable tool in your backup strategy. Sometimes you may only need to restore a couple files and we’ve covered how to restore them from backups on WHS and that works really well.   • Linux software raid fails to include one device for one RAID1 array

    One of my four Linux software raid arrays drops one of its two devices when I reboot my system. The other three arrays work fine. I am running RAID1 on kernel version 2.6.32-5-amd64. Every time I reboot, /dev/md2 comes up with only one device. I can manually add the device by saying $ sudo mdadm /dev/md2 --add /dev/sdc1.     I followed a previous post to install dssp on ubuntu How to install dssp (secondary structure assignments) under 12.04? After the installation I tried to execute dssp which was in /usr/local/bin/dssp But it gave me the following error bash: /usr/local/bin/dssp: cannot execute binary file Also I tried to analyse some trajectory files from a simulation using the code do_dssp -s md.tpr -f traj.xtc But it also failed giving me the error below Reading file md.tpr, VERSION 4.5.5 (single precision) Reading file md.tpr, VERSION 4.5.5 (single precision) Segmentation fault (core dumped) Please post me a solution for this problem.
