  • XboxMP Helps You Find Multiplayer Games for the Xbox

    - by Jason Fitzpatrick
    Searching for the perfect versus or cooperative Xbox multiplayer game can be challenging–the game publisher says it plays four but what exactly does that mean? XboxMP catalogs games with detailed breakdowns of what the multiplayer experience actually entails. You can search first generation Xbox games, Xbox 360 games, and Xbox Live Arcade games with a variety of detailed criteria including the number of players it supports for local, system link, and online play (it may be a deal breaker, for example, that the only way to play the game with 4 players is to have two Xboxes or an Xbox live account). In addition to the multiplayer game data each game listing also includes addition information about the general game play including peripheral support and other features. Hit up the link below to check it out and, for more help finding multiplayer cooperative games, make sure to check out previously reviewed Co-Optimus. • Stop animation playing automatically

    - by Starkers
    I've created an animation to animate a swinging mace. To do this I select the mace object in the scene pane, open the animation pane, and key it at a certain position at 0:00. I'm prompted to save this animation in my assets folder, which I do, as maceswing I then rotate the mace, move the slider through time and key it in a different position. I move the slider through time again, move the object to the original position and key it. There are now three things in my assets folder: maceswing appears to be my animation, but I have no idea what Mace Mace 1 and Mace 2 are. (I've been mucking around trying to get this working so it's possible Mace 1 and Mace 2 are just duplicates of Mace. I still want to know what they are though) When I play my game, the mace is constantly swinging, even though I didn't apply maceswing to it. I can't stop it. People say there's some kind of tick box to stop it constantly animating but I can't find it. My mace object only has an Animator component: Unticking this component doesn't stop the animation playing so I have no idea where the animation is coming from. Or what the Animator component actually does. I don't want this animation constantly playing. I only want it to play once when someone clicks a certain button: var Mace : Transform; if(Input.GetButtonDown('Fire1')){ Mace.animation.Play('maceswing'); }; Upon clicking the 'Fire1' button, I get this error: MissingComponentException: There is no 'Animation' attached to the "Mace" game object, but a script is trying to access it. You probably need to add a Animation to the game object "Mace". Or your script needs to check if the component is attached before using it. There is no 'Animation' attached to the "Mace" game object, and yet I can see it swinging away constantly. Infact I can't stop it! So what's causing the animation if the game object doesn't have an 'Animation' attached to it?

  • How can I get my first-person character in Unity to move to a ledge with an animation?

    - by BallzOfSteel
    I'm trying to get this to happen: The character walks up to a large crate, the player presses a button, and an animation starts playing where the character climbs up on to the crate. (all in first person view). So far I tried this with normal "First Person Controller" Prefab in Unity. My code so far: function OnTriggerStay(other : Collider){ if(other.tag == "GrabZone"){ if(Input.GetKeyDown("e")){ animation.Play("JumpToLedge"); } } } However when i use this on The FPC it will always play from the position the animation is created on. I also tried to create an empty game object, placing the FPC in there. Gives same effect. I also tried just animating the graphics of the FPC alone. This seems to work but since the Character Controller itself is not animated that stays onthe ground. So the whole FPC wont work anymore. Is there anyway i could let this animation play on the local position the player is on at that time? Or can you think of any other logical solution for a grab and climb?

  • scalacheck/scalatest not found: how to add it in sbt/scala?

    - by Pavel Reich
    I've installed typesafe-stack from http://typesafe.com/stack/download on my ubuntu12, than I created a play project (g8 typesafehub/play-scala) and now I want to add scalatest or scalacheck to my project. So my_app/project/plugins.sbt has the following lines: // The Typesafe repository resolvers += "Typesafe repository" at "http://repo.typesafe.com/typesafe/releases/" // Use the Play sbt plugin for Play projects addSbtPlugin("play" % "sbt-plugin" % "2.0.1") Then I added scalatest using addSbtPlugin: addSbtPlugin("org.scalatest" %% "scalatest" % "2.0.M1" % "test") and now it fails with the following message when I run 'sbt test' [info] Resolving org.scalatest#scalatest;2.0.M1 ... [warn] module not found: org.scalatest#scalatest;2.0.M1 [warn] ==== typesafe-ivy-releases: tried [warn] http://repo.typesafe.com/typesafe/ivy-releases/org.scalatest/scalatest/scala_2.9.1/sbt_0.11.3/2.0.M1/ivys/ivy.xml [warn] ==== local: tried [warn] ~/.ivy2/local/org.scalatest/scalatest/scala_2.9.1/sbt_0.11.3/2.0.M1/ivys/ivy.xml [warn] ==== Typesafe repository: tried [warn] http://repo.typesafe.com/typesafe/releases/org/scalatest/scalatest_2.9.1_0.11.3/2.0.M1/scalatest-2.0.M1.pom [warn] ==== typesafe-ivy-releases: tried [warn] http://repo.typesafe.com/typesafe/ivy- releases/org.scalatest/scalatest/scala_2.9.1/sbt_0.11.3/2.0.M1/ivys/ivy.xml [warn] ==== public: tried [warn] http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/org/scalatest/scalatest_2.9.1_0.11.3/2.0.M1/scalatest-2.0.M1.pom What I don't understand: why does it use this http://repo.typesafe.com/typesafe/releases/org/scalatest/scalatest_2.9.1_0.11.3/2.0.M1/scalatest-2.0.M1.pom URL instead of the real one http://repo.typesafe.com/typesafe/releases/org/scalatest/scalatest_2.9.1/2.0.M1/scalatest_2.9.1-2.0.M1.pom? Quite the same problem I have with scalacheck: it also tries to download using sbt-version specific artifactId whereas the repository has only scala-version specific. What am I doing wrong? I understand there must be a switch in sbt somewhere, not to use sbt-version as part of the artifact URL? I also tried using this in my plugins.sbt libraryDependencies += "org.scalatest" %% "scalatest" % "2.0.M1" % "test" but looks like it is completely ignored by sbt and scalatest.jar hasn't appeared in the classpath: my_app/test/AppTest.scala:1: object scalatest is not a member of package org [error] import org.scalatest.FunSuite because the output of sbt clean && sbt test has lots of Resolving org.easytesting#fest-util;1.1.6 or just another library, but nothing about scalatest. I use scala 2.9.1 and sbt 0.11.3, trying to use scalatest 2.0.M1 and 1.8; scalacheck: resolvers ++= Seq( "snapshots" at "http://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots", "releases" at "http://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/releases" ) libraryDependencies ++= Seq( "org.scalacheck" %% "scalacheck" % "1.9" % "test" ) With the same outcome, i.e. it uses the sbtVersion specific POM URL, which doesn't exist. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

  • My Mother Bought a Droid

    - by Ben Griswold
    I converted to iPhone two years ago when I left my former employer and my Blackberry behind. The truth is I half-heartedly purchased my iPhone. It was a great looking device, but as far as I was concerned, it was a mere toy compared to my Blackberry.  I remember hiding the toy in my briefcase when attending business meetings because I didn’t consider it to be professional enough.  I’ve since owned all three generations of the iPhone and, well, iPhone seems to have caught on. I still miss the click of the Blackberry keyboard and the blinking red light letting me know that someone/something requires my attention, but I’m officially an iPhone fanboy now.  My mom called last weekend and asked if she should buy an iPhone. I talked her ear off about everything I love about iPhone. I went on for about twenty minutes. I couldn’t help myself. I mentioned everything from my podcast subscriptions to the application which manages my workouts.  I went as far as to say that someday all smart phones will be referred to as iPhones just like all tissues are referred to as Kleenex and all sodas are referred to as Cokes.  I was really on a roll and then I stopped. I had to…the call dropped.  There I was, strategically standing in the far corner of my backyard where I get the most reliable AT&T reception and the call drops in middle of my iPhone pitch.  Folks, I don’t care how good a salesperson you are, it’s tough to recover from a situation like this.   I dialed my mom back and jokingly asked if she was planning to make calls with her new phone. I explained that AT&T is bound to provide better service eventually but I’m not sure she should wait. After all, I have troubles with the network in San Diego and I can only image how bad it would be for her in Western Massachusetts. Mom called back a few days later exclaiming, “I bought a Droid! I love this phone! I haven’t done anything with it but make phone calls, but I love it.”  I had to laugh.  My mom made the right call (pun intended.)  The iPhone is an amazing device, but owners are constantly reminded that its core function (it’s a phone, remember?) is subpar.  If you love gadgets, you’re probably enthralled by iPhone’s many bells and whistles and, relatively speaking, the terrible phone service might not amount to much.  (Maybe it amounts to a rant on your blog.) The overall iPhone offering is so attractive that consumers are willing to wait for AT&T to straighten up their act or wait until Apple grants a choice of carriers.  But I don’t see either of these remedies coming soon. In the interim, I’m willing to take my iPhone for what it is and just continue to enjoy my favorite features while pretending that poor coverage isn’t a big deal. With any luck, more and more reasonable folks will recognize that Android Phones are legitimate players in the smart phone space, they will buy loads of them and there will become plenty of functional phones to borrow when my “phone” is showing zero bars.  Heck, I’m already covered when I visit my mom.

  • Friday Fun: Spell Blazer

    - by Asian Angel
    Are you ready for some fun and adventure after a long week back at work? This week’s game combines jewel-matching style game play with an RPG story for an awesome mix of fun and fiction. Your goal is to help a young wizard reach the magic academy in Raven as the forces of darkness are building. Spell Blazer The object of the game is to help young Kaven reach the Lightcaster Academy in Raven alive, but he will encounter many dangers along the way. Are you ready to begin the quest? As soon as you click Start Game the intro will automatically begin. If this is your first time playing the game the intro provides a nice background story for the game and what is happening in the game environment. Once you are past the intro, you will see a map of the region with your starting point in the Farmlands, various towns and the roads connecting them, along with your final destination of Raven. Notice that some of the roads are different colors…those colors indicate the “danger levels” for each part of your journey (green = good, yellow = some danger, etc.). To begin your journey click on the Town of Goose with your mouse. You will encounter your first monster part of the way towards Goose. This first round takes you through the game play process step-by-step. Once you have clicked Okay you will see the details about the monster you have just encountered. It is very important that you do not click on Fight! or Flee! until viewing and noting the types of spells that the monster is resistant to or has a weakness against. Choose your spells wisely based on the information provided about the monster. Keep in mind that the healing spell can be very useful depending on the monster you meet and your current health status. Note: Spells shown in order here are Healing, Fireball, Icebolt, & Lightning. Ready to fight! The first battle will also explain how to fight…click Okay to get started. Once the main window is in full view there are details that you need to look at. Beneath each of the combatants you will see the three attacks that each brings to the battle and at the bottom you will see their respective health points. We got lucky and had an Icebolt attack that we could utilize on the first play! Note: You can exchange two squares without making a match in order to try and line up an attack. While it happened too quickly to capture in our screenshot, there will be cool lightning bolt effects shoot out from matched up squares to the opposite combatant. You will also see the amount of damage inflicted from a particular attack on top of the avatars. Victory! Once you have won a round of combat a window will appear showing the amount of gold coins left behind by the monster. When you reach a town you will have the opportunity to stop over and rest or directly continue on with your journey. On to Halgard after a good rest! • Balancing game difficulty against player progression

    - by Raven Dreamer
    It seems that the current climate of games seems to cater to an obvious progression of player power, whether that means getting a bigger, more explosive gun in Halo, leveling up in an RPG, or unlocking new options in Command and Conquer 4. Yet this concept is not exclusive to video or computer games -- even in Dungeons and Dragons players can strive to acquire a +2 sword to replace the +1 weapon they've been using. Yet as a systems designer, the concept of player progression is giving me headache after headache. Should I balance around the players exact capabilities and give up on a simple linear progression? (I think ESIV:Oblivion is a good example of this) Is it better to throw the players into an "arms race" with their opponents, where if the players don't progress in an orderly manner, it is only a matter of time until gameplay is unbearably difficult? (4th Edition DnD strikes me as a good example of this) Perhaps it would make most sense to untether the core gameplay mechanics from progression at all -- give them flashier, more interesting (but not more powerful!) ways to grow?

  • Do 3d assets cost a lot more than 2d?

    - by Balls
    I'm planning to create a game on my own and will most likely hire an artist in the future. I just want to know if making a game in 2d will a lot cheaper than making it on 3d? Here's my plan: If it will be a 2d game.. I'll probably make a platform game. More like a Braid level of graphics. If it will be a 3d game.. Closest of graphics I'll ask for will be far cry 1 or if possible oblivion. So any thoughts? I'm funding all of it on my own. It will be my first game but will use maybe an engine around if it will be a 3d game. If 2d, I have my own engine lying around here. Thank you, Balls

  • Can AVAudioSession do full duplex?

    - by Eric Christensen
    It would seem like it should be able to, but the following breakout test code can't do both: //play a file: NSArray *pathsArray = NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES); NSString *documentsDirectory = [pathsArray objectAtIndex:0]; NSString* playFilePath=[documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"testplayfile.wav"]; AVAudioPlayer *tempplayer = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:playFilePath] error:nil]; [tempplayer prepareToPlay]; [tempplayer play]; //and record a file: NSString* recFilePath=[documentsDirectory stringByAppendingPathComponent:@"testrecordfile.wav"]; AVAudioRecording *soundrecording = [[AVAudioRecorder alloc] initWithURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:recFilePath] settings:nil error:nil]; [soundrecording prepareToRecord]; [soundrecording record]; This is the minimum I can think of to individually play one file and record another. And this works just fine in the simulator. I can play back a file and record at the same time. But it doesn't work on the iphone itself. If I comment out either function, the other performs fine. The playback plays fine either alone or with both, if it's first. If I comment out the playback, the record records fine. (There's additional code to stop the recording not shown here.) So each works fine, but not together. I know audioQueue has a setting to allow both, but I don't see an analogue for AVAudioSessions. Any idea if it's possible, and if so, what I need to add? Thanks!

  • AVAudioPlayer making noise when playing multiple sounds at the same time

    - by Rob
    I am having an issue where AVAudioPlayer is introducing noise into playback ONLY when I play multiple sound files at the same time. If I play them each individually, they all sound perfect. But, if I play sound clip B while sound clip A is still playing, the speakers start crackling like there is noise. I have tried both m4a files AND caf files and both make the same noise, so it has to be something with how I am implementing this method or a quirk with AVAudioPlayer. Any insights? code I am using: UITouch* touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; NSString* filename = [soundArray objectAtIndex:[touch view].tag]; NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:filename ofType:@"m4a"]; AVAudioPlayer * newAudio=[[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:[NSURL fileURLWithPath:path] error:NULL]; self.theAudio = newAudio; // automatically retain audio and dealloc old file if new m4a file is loaded [newAudio release]; // release the audio safely theAudio.delegate = self; [theAudio prepareToPlay]; [theAudio setNumberOfLoops:0]; [theAudio setVolume: volumeLevel]; [theAudio play];

  • AVAudioPlayer only initializes with some files

    - by Brendan
    Hi everyone, I'm having trouble playing some files with AVAudioPlayer. When I try to play a certain m4a, it works fine. It also works with an mp3 that I try. However it fails on one particular mp3 every time (15 Step, by Radiohead), regardless of the order in which I try to play them. The audio just does not play, though the view loading and everything that happens concurrently happens correctly. The code is below. I get the "Player loaded." log output on the other two songs, but not on 15 Step. I know the file path is correct (I have it log outputted earlier in the app, and it is correct). Any ideas? NSData *musicData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:[[NSURL alloc] initFileURLWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:[song filename] ofType:nil]]]; NSLog([[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:[song filename] ofType:nil]); if(musicData) { NSLog(@"File found."); } self.songView.player = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithData:musicData error:nil]; if(self.songView.player) { NSLog(@"Player loaded."); } [self.songView.player play]; NSLog(@"You should be hearing something now."); Thanks, Brendan

  • displaying music current time & duration from AVFoundation

    - by msb
    I have a view-based iphone application that has a single play-pause button that plays an mp3 file. At the time of invoking my doPlayPauseButton() method, I 'd like to show the current time and total duration of this mp3 through the AVAudioPlayer instance I've created, called myAudioPlayer. I have placed two labels at the UI and i'm trying to assign the currentTime and duration properties to these label when the playing begins but my attempts have failed. Here's my play/pause loop, any help would be appreciated: -(IBAction) doPlayPauseButton:(UIButton *)theButton { if(myAudioPlayer.playing) { [myActivityIndicatorView stopAnimating]; myActivityIndicatorView.hidden = YES; //I think I need a myAudioPlayer.currentTime call of some sort for my labels. [myAudioPlayer pause]; [theButton setTitle:@"Play" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [myTimer invalidate]; } else { [myActivityIndicatorView startAnimating]; myActivityIndicatorView.hidden = NO; myTimer = [NSTimer scheduledTimerWithTimeInterval:1.0 target:self selector:@selector(doTimer) userInfo:nil repeats:YES]; [myAudioPlayer play]; [theButton setTitle:@"Pause" forState:UIControlStateNormal];

Here is my code: <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" .....> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="movie" value="nyauto_pageflip4.swf" /> <param name="quality" value="high" /> <param name="play" value="true"/> <param name="wmode" value="transparent" /> <embed swLiveConnect="true" src="file.swf" quality="high" name="flash_flip" id="flash_flip" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> Then, I have a javascript function with the play line: $('flash_flip').Play(); I have jQuery, but I already tryed with document.GetElementById =) So, when this line executes, the flash movie plays. This works in FF and Chrome, but not in ie8... Is there any way to fix that? Thanks!

  • PlaySound linker error in C++

    - by logic-unit
    Hello, I'm getting this error: [Linker error] undefined reference to 'PlaySoundA@12' Id returned 1 exit status From this code: // c++ program to generate a random sequence of numbers then play corresponding audio files #include <windows.h> #include <mmsystem.h> #include <iostream> #pragma comment(lib, "winmm.lib") using namespace std; int main() { int i; i = 0; // set the value of i while (i <= 11) // set the loop to run 11 times { int number; number = rand() % 10 + 1; // generate a random number sequence // cycling through the numbers to find the right wav and play it if (number == 0) { PlaySound("0.wav", NULL, SND_FILENAME); // play the random number } else if (number == 1) { PlaySound("1.wav", NULL, SND_FILENAME); // play the random number } //else ifs repeat to 11... i++; // increment i } return 0; } I've tried absolute and relative paths for the wavs, the file size of them is under 1Mb each too. I've read another thread here on the subject: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1565439/how-to-playsound-in-c As you may well have guessed this is my first C++ program, so my knowledge is limited with where to go next. I've tried pretty much every page Google has on the subject including MSDN usage page. Any ideas? Thanks in advance...

  • iphone-AVAudio Player Crashes

    - by user2779450
    I have an app that uses an avaudio player for two things. One of them is to play an explosion sound when a uiimageview collision is detected, and the other is to play a lazer sound when a button is pressed. I declared the audioplayer in the .h class, and I call it each time the button is clicked by doing this: NSURL *url = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:@"/lazer" ofType:@"mp3"]]; NSError *error; audioPlayer = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:url error:&error]; if (error) { NSLog(@"Error in audioPlayer: %@", [error localizedDescription]); } else { [audioPlayer prepareToPlay]; } [audioPlayer play]; This works fine, but after many uses of the game, the audio will stop play when i hit the button, and when a collision is detected, the game crashes. Here is my crash log: 2013-09-18 18:09:19.618 BattleShip[506:907] 18:09:19.617 shm_open failed: "AppleAudioQueue.41.2619" (23) flags=0x2 errno=24 (lldb) Suggestions? Could there be something to do with repeatedly creating an audio player? Alternatives maybe?

  • Playing Multiple sounds at the same time in Android

    - by Wrapper
    I am unable to use the following to code to play multiple sounds/beeps simultaneously. In my onclicklistener I have added ... public void onClick(View v) { mSoundManager.playSound(1); mSoundManager.playSound(2); } ... But this plays only one sound at a time, sound with index 1 followed by sound with index 2. How can I play atleast 2 sounds simultaneously using this code whenever there is an onClick() event? public class SoundManager { private SoundPool mSoundPool; private HashMap<Integer, Integer> mSoundPoolMap; private AudioManager mAudioManager; private Context mContext; public SoundManager() { } public void initSounds(Context theContext) { mContext = theContext; mSoundPool = new SoundPool(4, AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC, 0); mSoundPoolMap = new HashMap<Integer, Integer>(); mAudioManager = (AudioManager)mContext.getSystemService(Context.AUDIO_SERVICE); } public void addSound(int Index,int SoundID) { mSoundPoolMap.put(1, mSoundPool.load(mContext, SoundID, 1)); } public void playSound(int index) { int streamVolume = mAudioManager.getStreamVolume(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC); mSoundPool.play(mSoundPoolMap.get(index), streamVolume, streamVolume, 1, 0, 1f); } public void playLoopedSound(int index) { int streamVolume = mAudioManager.getStreamVolume(AudioManager.STREAM_MUSIC); mSoundPool.play(mSoundPoolMap.get(index), streamVolume, streamVolume, 1, -1, 1f); } }

    I am trying to loop a video and i am having some issues with this in flash. You can view the video here: http://www.healthcarepros.net/travel.html Here the specific code for the flash video: <script language="javascript"> if (AC_FL_RunContent == 0) { alert("This page requires AC_RunActiveContent.js."); } else { AC_FL_RunContent( 'codebase', 'http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0', 'width', '330', 'height', '245', 'src', 'healthcare-video', 'quality', 'high', 'pluginspage', 'http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer', 'align', 'middle', 'play', 'true', 'loop', 'true', 'scale', 'showall', 'wmode', 'window', 'devicefont', 'false', 'id', 'healthcare-video', 'bgcolor', '#ffffff', 'name', 'healthcare-video', 'menu', 'true', 'allowFullScreen', 'false', 'allowScriptAccess','sameDomain', 'movie', 'healthcare-video', 'salign', '' ); //end AC code } </script> <noscript> <object classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=9,0,0,0" width="330" height="245" id="healthcare-video" align="middle"> <param name="allowScriptAccess" value="sameDomain" /> <param name="allowFullScreen" value="false" /> <param name="loop" value="true" /> <param name="play" value="true" /> <param name="movie" value="healthcare-video.swf" /><param name="quality" value="high" /><param name="bgcolor" value="#ffffff" /> <embed src="healthcare-video.swf" play="true" flashvars="autoplay=true&play=true" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="330" height="245" name="healthcare-video" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain" allowFullScreen="false" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /> </object> Additionally, i have added in the parameter code that calls the loop function but for some reason it still doesnt seem to work, any suggestions?

  • Detect TCP connection close when playing Flash video

    - by JoJo
    On the Flash client side, how do I detect when the server purposely closes the TCP connection to its video stream? I'll need to take action when this occurs - maybe attempt to restart the video or display an error message. Currently, the connection closing and the connection being slow look the same to me. The NetStream object ushers a NetStream.Play.Stop event in both cases. When the connection is slow, it usually recovers by itself within seconds. I wish to only take action when the connection is closed, not when it is slow. Here's how my general setup looks like. It's the basic NetConnection-NetStream-Video setup. this.vidConnection = new NetConnection(); this.vidConnection.addEventListener(AsyncErrorEvent.ASYNC_ERROR, this.connectionAsyncError); this.vidConnection.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, this.connectionIoError); this.vidConnection.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, this.connectionNetStatus); this.vidConnection.connect(null); this.vidStream = new NetStream(this.vidConnection); this.vidStream.addEventListener(AsyncErrorEvent.ASYNC_ERROR, this.streamAsyncError); this.vidStream.addEventListener(IOErrorEvent.IO_ERROR, this.streamIoError); this.vidStream.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, this.streamNetStatus); this.vid.attachNetStream(this.vidStream); None of the error events fire when the server closes the TCP or when the connection freezes up. Only the NetStream.Play.Stop event fires. Here's a trace of what happens from initially playing the video to the TCP connection closing. connection net status = NetConnection.Connect.Success playStream(http://192.168.0.44/flv/4d29104a9aefa) NetStream.Play.Start NetStream.Buffer.Flush NetStream.Buffer.Full NetStream.Buffer.Empty checkDimensions 0 0 onMetaData NetStream.Buffer.Full NetStream.Buffer.Flush checkDimensions 960 544 NetStream.Buffer.Empty NetStream.Buffer.Flush NetStream.Play.Stop

  • changing sounds when objects meet

    - by blacksheep
    i'd like to change sounds when tapping on an image and drag another image over several others. it is not working properly: the "MoveImage" is not dragable, the tapping is working outside the "TouchImage" and the sounds do not change when tapping on it. (void)touchesBegan:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event{ UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; if(((CGRectContainsPoint(myTouchImage.frame, location)), (CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_1.frame)))) { [sound_E play]; } if (((CGRectContainsPoint(myTouchImage.frame, location)), (CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_2.frame)))) { [sound_F play]; } if (((CGRectContainsPoint(myTouchImage.frame, location)), (CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_3.frame)))) { [sound_D play]; } if (((CGRectContainsPoint(myTouchImage.frame, location)), (CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_4.frame)))) { [sound_Dis play]; } } (void)touchesMoved:(NSSet *)touches withEvent:(UIEvent *)event { UITouch *touch = [[event allTouches] anyObject]; CGPoint location = [touch locationInView:touch.view]; if (CGRectContainsPoint(myMoveImage.frame, location)){ CGPoint yLocation = CGPointMake(myMoveImage.center.x,location.y); myMoveImage.center = yLocation; } if(CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_1.frame)) { E_NOTE.text = @"E"; } if(CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_2.frame)) { F_NOTE.text = @"F"; } if(CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_3.frame)) { D_NOTE.text = @"D"; } if(CGRectIntersectsRect(myMoveImage.frame,myImage_4.frame)) { Dis_NOTE.text = @"D#"; } }

  • Playing video and audio in iPhone not working...

    - by Scott
    So we have buttons linked up to display images/videos/audio on click depending on a check we do earlier. That part works fine. It knows which one to play, however, when we click the buttons for video and audio, nothing happens. The image one works fine. The video and audio are being taken for a URL online, they are not local, but everywhere said this was still possible. Here is a little snippet of the code where we play the two files: if ( [fName hasSuffix:@".png"]) { NSLog(@"PICTURE"); NSURL *url = [NSURL URLWithString: fName]; UIImage *image = [UIImage imageWithData: [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]]; self.view = [[UIView alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] applicationFrame]]; // self.view.backgroundColor = [[UIColor alloc] initWithPatternImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"MainBG.jpg"]]; [self.view addSubview:[[UIImageView alloc] initWithImage:image]]; } if ( [fName hasSuffix:@".mp4"]) { NSLog(@"VIDEO"); //NSString *path = [[NSBundle mainBundle] pathForResource:fName ofType:@"mp4"]; //NSLog(path); NSURL *url = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:fName]; MPMoviePlayerController *player = [[MPMoviePlayerController alloc] initWithContentURL:url]; [player play]; } if ( [fName hasSuffix:@".mp3"]) { NSLog(@"AUDIO"); NSURL *url = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:fName]; NSData *soundData = [NSData dataWithContentsOfURL:url]; AVAudioPlayer *avPlayer = [[AVAudioPlayer alloc] initWithData:soundData error: nil]; [avPlayer play]; } See anything wrong? By the way it compiles and runs, but nothing happens when we hit the button that executes that code.
