    Hello, Recently I installed an apcusbd on a FreeBSD 8.0 amd64 box via ports system. It installed perfectly but it won't run. Here what is says in the log: FATAL ERROR in generic-usb.c at line 636 Cannot find UPS device It appeared that HID driver picked the /dev/ugen4.2 which could cause the apcusb being unable to find the device. After I had discovered this, I rebuilt the kernel and removed the hid driver. Now it just shows "ugen4.2: <Tripp Lite> at usbus4" and no uhid0 device appears. Nevertheless the problem persisted. I tried to leave the DEVICE config setting blank --- won't help. Then I specified the particular device in the config, but it did not help either.     I just ran a clean install of windows 7 this morning, installed all the latest updates, and I'm now trying to install Office Ultimate 2007 that I purchased last year from the Office Ultimate Steal. It was running fine under windows xp, but when I try to run the installer in windows 7, I get an error message that says: The installation of this package failed I have tried the following: Running the installer as administrator Running the installer under windows xp (SP3) compatability Mode Re downloading the installer (I have it saved to my dropbox account, I can't redownload it from Microsoft) Any help that you can provide would be great!

    I can't start amavis. It gives an error: Starting amavisd: Error in config file "/etc/amavis/conf.d/05-domain_id": Insecure directory in $ENV{PATH} while running with -T switch at /etc/amavis/conf.d/05-domain_id line 7.   • How to disable portmap on Mac OS X

    Hi, I notice the message: Firewall[313] portmap is listening from 0.0.0.0:111 proto=6 repeated on my logs ever 30 seconds. How can I disable portmap (not using NFS or anything like that so I assume I have no need for it). I already tried Lingon.app and disabled com.apple.portmap from there, but that didn't help at all as portmap is still running after i rebooted. What would be the proper way to disable portmap and stop the service without having to reboot on Mac OS X 10.6. peto
