    hey guys, I created a word file with office 2007 and exported it via jaws pdf. Now I want some bookmarks or any kind of "linking-action" that makes it easier to navigate through the document. My PDF viewer doesnt allow to create bookmarks in the free version so I guess I need to handle this via word! maybe using a table of content? anything that is recognized by pdf! thanks in advance edit: I realised it with using a table of centent.it works fine but that wasnt the solution if been looking for.I like to have some bookmarks but my pdf creator doesnt take over the one I created in word. need to figure out how this could works

  • Cannot connect to a Wifi network chipset AR9287

    After updating my newly installed ubuntu 10.10. I can't connect to the wifi network anymore although it is showing it. Tried to install manufacturer driver INF file via ndiswrapper only makes things worst - lost my wifi. Downloaded and installed the compat-wireless driver for the Atheros AR9287. After installing, i got my wifi connection again but after rebooting I can't reconnect again. The Wifi access point is showing 2/5 to 3/5 signal strength. Laptop: Acer Aspire 4741G Wifi Adapter: Atheros AR9287 OS: Ubuntu 10.10 64bit

  • Network Manager kicks off abruptly

    I have installed Ubuntu 10.10 and trying to connect with my ADSL Wireless broadband internet modem using Linksys WUSB600N receiver. The good news is the OS is able to detect my wifi network and I am able to hook to network over WPA authentication with basic settings. But the network goes off abruptly and never connects again until I reboot the machine. I have Windows 7 as dual boot on my machine. The same adapter works perfectly with Windows 7 but not in Ubuntu. Is there anything in need to tweak to make things working or do I need to try any other better network manager on Ubuntu?

  • OpenVPN stopped working, what could have happened?

    I have Openvpn, and it worked great when I used it on PC (Windows 8), then I copied all files (Certificates and config) to an Android 4 phone to use them. Now, Openvpn works on the phone, but not the PC. Specifically, when I open Google I get: The server at www.google.com can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed, but the VPN seems to be connected. I have a simple question, could the problem be because I copied the same files?   • How can I use structured references to a column in an Excel macro?

    Here's an example that will explain things: Sheets("Plot Data July").Select ActiveSheet.ListObjects("tPDJuly").Range.AutoFilter Field:=2 ActiveSheet.ListObjects("tPDJuly").Range.AutoFilter Field:=4 So as you can see above, Field:=2 is a relative reference to the second field in the table called "tPDJuly". So now if I add more columns, this number does not get updated. The field is actually called "Grade" in the table. So is there a way of coding this so that no matter which column it is in, "Grade" is always updated? I suppose one solution is that we add a line that find what is the column number for "Grade"?

  • Hardware Compatibility

    I am looking into buying a LENOVO RD330 SERVER with a ThinkServer RAID 500 Adapter II RAID controller. I am having problems finding out if all of the hardware that I am wanting will be compatible with Ubuntu. I have check the "Certified Hardware" list but the list is very limited. Both the computer and the RAID controller say they support RedHat and Suse but obviously Ubuntu isn't mentioned. I have talked with my vendor and they also not certain if this hardware will work. I have also Google around and the RAID controller appears to be an LSI chipset. But again I haven't been able to find any definitive information saying that this will work. Any suggestions on how I can find out if the hardware will work?

    I received this request in many courses, messages and also forum discussions: having an Analysis Services Tabular model, it would be nice being able to extract a correspondent PowerPivot data model. In order of priority, here are the specific feature people (including me) would like to see: Create an empty PowerPivot workbook with the same data model of a Tabular model Change the connections of the tables in the PowerPivot workbook extracting data from the Tabular data model Every table should have an EVALUATE ‘TableName’ query in DAX Apply a filter to data extracted from every table For example, you might want to extract all data for a single country or year or customer group Using the same technique of applying filter used for role based security would be nice Expose an API to automate the process of creating a PowerPivot workbook Use case: prepare one workbook for every employee containing only its data, that he can use offline Common request for salespeople who want a mini-BI tool to use in front of the customer/lead/supplier, regardless of a connection available This feature would increase the adoption of PowerPivot and Tabular (and, therefore, Business Intelligence licenses instead of Standard), and would probably raise the sales of Office 2013 / Office 365 driven by ISV, who are the companies who requests this feature more. If Microsoft would do this, it would be acceptable it only works on Office 2013. But if a third-party will do that, it will make sense (for their revenues) to cover both Excel 2010 and Excel 2013. Another important reason for this feature is that the “Offline cube” feature that you have in Excel is not available when your PivotTable is connected to a Tabular model, but it can only be used when you connect to Analysis Services Multidimensional.     In postfix, I'm using relay_host to send an email to an external address using sendgrid, but I get an error about local ricipient table when sending an email from my PHP code.   • use ubuntu notebook as second monitor for fedora desktop

    I was wondering if there is a possibility to use my netbook with ubuntu 12.04 as a second monitor for my fedora desktop, because its keyboard is broken but everything else is running just fine. I already read about x2x, but I hope there is a more direct way to do this (I mean not over the WLAN but e.g. via LAN etc... ). Would it be possible to directly use the monitor without even running the laptop? For example through an VGA adapter? Thanks for your replies!

    I said I would tackle documenting some of the new features in the 10.1.3.4.1 roll up patch I mentioned last week. With the patch you can now set the default state of bookmarks (if you create them) in your PDF outputs. If your users prefer to see them all collapsed to the base level or may be collapsed to the second level to ease navigation; whatever they need. Its another opportunity for you to look like a star! You of course need to start with a table of contents; then add the convert|copy to bookmarks command. You can then add the new collapse command to set the appropriate level in the bookmarks. <?copy-to-bookmark:?> <?collapse-bookmark:show;2?> <<< Table of Contents >>> <?end convert-to-bookmark?> The command allows you to expand or collapse the bookmarks as you need. Of course you will know how many levels you will have in the final output document. The command takes the form: <?collapse-bookmark:show|hide;level int?> Some examples <?collapse-bookmark:hide;1?> <?collapse-bookmark:hide;2?> <?collapse-bookmark:hide;3?> Sample template and data here.   • Battery discharges while computer is off

    I bought a hp 15-r003np 2 weeks ago and installed ubuntu 14.04 LTS with dual boot (to windows 8). When i shutdown ubuntu, in the next day battery has 85% of charge, despite the computer shutdown. If i power off in windows battery charge is 100% in the next day. Does anyone have noticed the same problem? I think the network adapter is not on wol mode, seen via windows network config properties. I need help to solve this problem... (it's not right to work around restarting to windows to do the shutdown properly...)

    Hello, I recently purchased a USB CD ROM drive, but I don't know how to get it to work with my computer which runs Ubuntu 10.04. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00303H908/ref=oss_product When I issue the lsusb command, it shows up as: Bus 002 Device 016: ID 05e3:0701 Genesys Logic, Inc. USB 2.0 IDE Adapter The computer doesn't recognize it automatically. How can I get this drive to show up as an actual drive on my computer? As these maps are all based on Javascript, there is a big reason to use Javascript again to make the adapter also, so it would not be dependent to PHP, Java, or .NET for example. But is that all? I wish to hear your ideas and comments also. :)

    Hello, I ran the excellent MySQL performance tuning script and started to work through the suggestions. One I ran into was TABLE CACHE Current table_cache value = 4096 tables You have a total of 1073 tables. You have 3900 open tables. Current table_cache hit rate is 2%, while 95% of your table cache is in use. You should probably increase your table_cache I started to read up on the table_cache but found the MySQL documentation quite lacking. They do say to increase the table_cache, "if you have the memory". Unfortunately the table_cache variable is defined as "The number of open tables for all threads." How will the memory used by MySQL change, if I increase this variable? What is a good value, to set it to?

  • Netgear WNA1100 stopped working

    I'm facing a rather strange issue with the USB wireless adapter WNA1100. I was able to connect to wireless using this yesterday. However, today am not. lsmod shows ath9k_htc, ath9k_common, ath9k_hw, ath and ndiswrapper. I'm not sure if this is relevant to the above problem, but between yesterday and today, the only change was an upgrade to Ubuntu 2.6.38 kernel, which caused the NVIDIA driver to break (I have a 7300GT), so I had to ignore that kernel, reboot into 2.6.35, and rebuild NVIDIA module from NVIDIA-Installer-270.run. Help?

  • I need acpi=off to boot, but this seems to disable wifi

    To boot my computer, I have to use acpi=off in kernel options. Doing this apparently causes my wifi adapter to be switched off and prevents my mouse and USB keyboard to not work. If I change acpi=off to nomodeset, it fixes these problems. But then it sets my computer at a lower resolution. I am currently running Kubuntu 13.10, although none of the updates, starting from 12.04, changed the need for acpi=off. I assume I need acpi=off in because I have an oldish computer with an intel motherboard How can I boot without acpi=off? Output of uname -a: 3.11.0-13-generic #20-Ubuntu SMP Wed Oct 23 07:38:26 UTC x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

  • How to Connect Lubuntu to Ubuntu Hotspot via Ethernet?

    I just fixed up an old laptop by installing Lubuntu 13.04. The laptop does not have a network card, so it can only connect via Ethernet. I created a hotspot with an Ubuntu laptop, but am having trouble connecting to it via wired. I am not asked for a password when I try to connect, even though the network has a password. The hotspot will not enable a wired connection, so that may be the problem. How can I connect a Lubuntu laptop to an Ubuntu laptop hotspot via Ethernet? Update: The connection also does not ask for a password when connecting to a gaming adapter.

  • MySQL Database synchronizing with local and remote with c#

    I've posted this here as its more of a mysql questions than c#, I have written some software that runs a local instance of mysql when it first starts, now once mysql is up I would like to synchronize the data between the remote database table and the local database table that the software runs (it shouldn't sync any other databases / tables as there are a lot). I have replication setup to synchronize the entire database to another server which works unless the server goes down then it never comes back up, so based on that I don't think replication will work as when the software is closed it also closes MySQL. So what would be the best method of synchronizing the remote and local databases?
