• Jing + swfobject 2.2 = big video in small div

  I am trying to use swfobject 2.2 to display an swf, but the swf won't scale to fit the div that I'm putting it in. You can see what I've got here. When it first loads, it is the right size, then it expands larger for some reason. If I right-click on the movie and select "Show All", it then fits perfectly. • Css editor with certain features

  I need a light css editor with certain functions. Already downloaded and tried a few apps but still no luck, none of them fit my requirements. Actually, there is one, CssEdit (or TextMate), but unfortunately i'm a windows user... Already tried: built-in NetBeans IDE css editor (btw nice editor, the one i'm using now for css) IntelJ IDE (very good html and css editor, but using the entire ide just for this - that's crazy) ArduoCss (very buggy in win7 environment) Notepad Notepad++ (it rules, but as i said, i need something more functional for css editing) Style Master ( if i don't find anything else, probably i'll choose this one) Stylizer ( also might be my choice, but it's black interface kills me, also extremy noob-oriented, i even couldn't find a way to see the source code) Some of the features i am looking for: grouping by comments like here snippets autocomplete, if i type for instance f-s, it should recognize and expand it to "font-size" property color picker The editor must have at least the first feature that i listed above. • JSON webservice response compression in IIS 7

  Hello! I have trouble with JSON response compression. I look to response headers after uploading website to production server (Windows 2008, IIS 7) and found uncompressed response. Turning on "Enabled static compression" and ""Enable dynamic compression" in IIS control panel does not effect. ASPX pages was responsed gzipped, but webservice response uncompressed. I looked to google, but no answer found about this trouble. Also, I try this http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2405595/json-ihttpmodule-compression way (and adding to web.config this module) - but this source is excellent working at development machine with ASP.NET development server (and have seven times response size reduced) and totally ignored at IIS7. How I can apply gzip compression to json responses from my webservice? Thanks. PS .NET 3.5

• NSStream sockets missing data

  I am trying to pull some sample data from FreeDB as a proof of concept, but I am having a tough time retrieving all of the data off the incoming stream (I am only getting the last bits for the final query listed here (if handshakeCode = 3) I think this may be something with the threading on the main runloop, but I am not sure. Odd thing is when the buffer size is larger than 1-2 bytes (which works as expected), I seem to be losing access to the data programmatically (the totalOutput variable on the first set of data is incomplete). I set up a packet capture, and it looks like those 1024 bytes are coming across the wire, but the app just isn't working with it. It looks like the next event is coming through and basically taking over. I tried using an NSLock to no avail as well. If I drop the buffer size down to 1 or 2, things seem to be reading just fine. This is probably obvious to someone who does this all the time, but this is my first foray into this with something I am familiar with, technology wise in other languages / platforms. The following code will show you what is happening. • Why does Perl complain about "Unsuccessful stat on filename containing newline"?

  Hello, I am getting an error I do not understand. I am using File:Find to recurse a fylesystem on Windows using Activestate Perl 5.8.8 and trying to stat $File::Find::name; so I am not stat-ing a filename got from a text file scanning requiring chomp-ing or newline removing. I was unable to get file modification time, the mtime in: my ($dev,$ino,$mode,$nlink,$uid,$gid,$rdev,$size,$atime,$mtime,$ctime,$blksize,$blocks) = stat($File::Find::name); so trying a -s $File::Find::name gives me the error: Unsuccessful stat on filename containing newline A typical file name found is F01-01-10 Num 0-00000.pdf but I get the same error even renaming in E02.pdf

• Loading a UIDatePicker in Landscape on a UINavigationController

  I have a custom UINavigationController that supports auto-rotate. I also have a UIDatePicker on one of my views that I throw onto the stack of the Navigation controller. The auto-rotate works if I start the date picker view in portrait and then rotate it. If I try load the date picker view in landscape to begin with, the view is all messed up. It looks like it would if it didn't support rotation and the frame only has about half of the picker visible and off center. I've tried making my own date picker that supports auto-rotate in case that was the problem, I've tried creating two different views and swapping them out, and I've tried changing the view frame size on the ViewWillAppear method. None of them seem to be working for me as of yet. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the date picker to show up in landscape correctly on a navigation controller? I probably am overlooking something simple and the answer is right in front of me, but I'm not finding it.

  There is something I don't understand. Today I desided to find out what is inside Sistem.Web.dll version 4.0.0.0 So I decided to find the place where this assembly located. and opened this assembly with reflector - all methods were empty - and then with ilDasm from 7.0 SDK. This what I saw After some research I've found fullfeatured assemblies in gac. Actualy here C:\Windows\assembly\NativeImages_v4.0.30319_32\System.Web\82087f17d3b3f9c493e7261d608a6af4 They are much larger in size. So why does references goes not to the gac, but to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Reference Assemblies\Microsoft\Framework.NETFramework\v4.0\ Why don't they have IL inside? How does it works? Mabe I don't understand something.

• Reading UDP Packets

  I am having some trouble dissecting a UDP packet. I am receiving the packets and storing the data and sender-address in variables 'data' and 'addr' with: data,addr = UDPSock.recvfrom(buf) This parses the data as a string, that I am now unable to turn into bytes. I know the structure of the datagram packet which is a total of 28 bytes, and that the data I am trying to get out is in bytes 17:28. I have tried doing this: mybytes = data[16:19] print struct.unpack('>I', mybytes) --> struct.error: unpack str size does not match format And this: response = (0, 0, data[16], data[17], 6) bytes = array('B', response[:-1]) print struct.unpack('>I', bytes) --> TypeError: Type not compatible with array type And this: print "\nData byte 17:", str.encode(data[17]) --> UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode character u'\xff' in position 0: ordinal not in range(128) And I am not sure what to try next. • Idiomatic way to do list/dict in Cython?

  My problem: I've found that processing large data sets with raw C++ using the STL map and vector can often be considerably faster (and with lower memory footprint) than using Cython. I figure that part of this speed penalty is due to using Python lists and dicts, and that there might be some tricks to use less encumbered data structures in Cython. For example, this page (http://wiki.cython.org/tutorials/numpy) shows how to make numpy arrays very fast in Cython by predefining the size and types of the ND array. Question: Is there any way to do something similar with lists/dicts, e.g. by stating roughly how many elements or (key,value) pairs you expect to have in them? That is, is there an idiomatic way to convert lists/dicts to (fast) data structures in Cython? If not I guess I'll just have to write it in C++ and wrap in a Cython import.

• Neural Network problems

  I am using an external library for Artificial Neural Networks in my project.. While testing the ANN, It gave me output of all NaN (not a number in C#) The ANN has 8 input , 5 hidden , 5 hidden , 2 output, and all activation layers are of Linear type , and it uses back-propagation, with learning rate 0.65 I used one testcase for training { -2.2, 1.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0.1, 5, 3, -5 } ,{ -0.3, 0.2 } for 1000 epoch And I tested it on { 0.2, -0.2, 5.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0, 35, 0.0 } which gave { NaN , NaN} Note: this is one example of many that produces same case... I am trying to discover whether it is a bug in the library, or an illogical configuration.. The reasons I could think of for illogical configuration: All layers should not be linear Can not have descending size layers, i.e 8-5-5-2 is bad.. Only one testcase ? Values must be in range [0,1] or [-1,1] Is any of the above reasons could be the cause of error, or there are some constraints/rules that I do not know in ANN designing..? Note: I am newbie in ANN

• What is the correct way to backup ZODB blobs?

  I am using plone.app.blob to store large ZODB objects in a blobstorage directory. This reduces size pressure on Data.fs but I have not been able to find any advice on backing up this data. I am already backing up Data.fs by pointing a network backup tool at a directory of repozo backups. Should I simply point that tool at the blobstorage directory to backup my blobs? What if the database is being repacked or blobs are being added and deleted while the copy is taking place? Are there files in the blobstorage directory that must be copied over in a certain order?

• loading and formating the rtf file in uiwebview

  Hello everybody. I am trying to load the contents of a rtf file in the uiwebview. I am successful in loading the contents, but it is unformatted. the fonts are too large and it doesnt have any format. it displays the color of the rtf content, but not the font or size. So what should i do now. is there anyother way to load the rtf and format it???? • Visual Studio 2008 freezing when editing aspx/master pages

  Visual Studio freezes up continually when I'm editing master pages or aspx files. Here's what I've tried that have not helped: restarting VS only working with few files open at a time Disabled all addins (resharper etc.) deleted .suo and .user files changed default editor from Web Form Editor and Master Page Editor to HTML Editor installed SP1 I don't have tons of files - 3 Master pages and maybe 30 aspx files. It is a asp.net mvc project. All I have to do to get VS to freeze is type a little text or even just paste. The freezing lasts a good 5-10 seconds. My machine has 4GB of RAM and fast disks. Could it have anything to do with asp.net mvc? Would the amount and size of other projects in the solution affect the editor?

• Why does Google's Closure Compiler leave a few unnecessary spaces or line breaks?

  I've noticed that every time I use Google's Closure Compiler Service, it leaves a few unnecessary spaces in the compiled code presented on the right-hand side of the page. These correspond to line breaks in the hosted version of the compiled code. For example (note the line breaks, each of which seems unnecessary): http://troy.onespot.com/static/stack_overflow/closure_spaces.js To date, I've just been removing them manually, but I'm curious why they're there. Is it to limit the line length of the hosted version of the code to make it more readable? Could the compiler be smart enough to leave or insert those intentionally to maximize GZIP compression efforts? I know that they have a trivial effect on the file size, but with so much effort going into minifying every last byte in the source script, it's counterintuitive why they're there.

• mysql: how to set max_allowed_packet for shared hosting?

  Hello, I need to set (increase) max_allowed_packet. But the problem is I am using a shared hosting. So, I can not access the .ini or .cnf file. Also I can not use the SET command. How can I am able to set a value (actually increase) for the max_allowed_packet, without asking the hosting support. I have no SSH access there. EDIT: I am trying to use VB 4.0.3. In there the attachment size is limited by it. So, I do not think splitting the file can be an option in this case. Thank you Sadi

The whitepapers of Windows Azure Platform say something like that: In its first release, the maximum size of a single database in SQL Azure Database is 10 gigabytes A few things are omitted in the technology’s first release, however, such as the SQL Common Language Runtime (CLR) and support for spatial data. (Microsoft says that both will be available in a future version.) I want to know that Microsoft had updated Windows Azure Platform and removed these limits or not? • Stack memory in Android

  I'm writing an app that has a foreground service, content provider, and a Activity front end that binds to the service and gets back a List of objects using AIDL. The service does work and updates a database. If I leave the activity open for 4-8+ hours, and go to the "Running Services" section under settings on the phone (Nexus One) an unusually large amount of memory being used is shown (~42MB). I figure there is a leak. When I check the heap memory i get Heap size:~18MB, ~2MB allocated, ~16MB free. Analyzing the hprof in Eclipse MAT seems fine, which leads me to theorize that memory is leaking on the stack. Is this even possible? If it is, what can I do to stop or investigate the leak? Is the reported memory usage on the "Running Services" section of android even correct (I assume it is)? Another note: I have been unable to reproduce this issue when the UI is not up (with only the service running)

  I have a large matrix from which I would like to gather a collection of submatrices. If my matrix is NxN and the submatrix size is MxM, I want to collect I=(N - M + 1)^2 submatrices. In other words I want one MxM submatrix for each element in the original matrix that can be in the top-left corner of such a matrix. • IE7 is not positioning dialog properly on window resize

  Like I said, IE7 (and IE6 but I don't really care IE6 that much) doesn't position dialog properly on window resize. When window is re sized, dialog goes down and down. IE8 FF Chrome Safari all work properly and position and re size dialog just fine but IE7 it re sizes the dialog but positions incorrectly.   In System.Windows.Forms there are a PropertyGrid that displays properties of an attached object. Let's say MyTextBox : TextBox. Now, I would like to display on it some MyTextBox properties, say only Size, Location and my custom property Date. More that than, I would like to be able to change the real property names, say "Dimension", "Location" and "Starting Date". I saw two projects on this subject : first and second, but first does not work well(for browsable properties), and the second seems to add an event for each property changes, this is not acceptable.

Range parameter determines the size of html fragment. Not sure what trim 0 does.

• Run jquery image resizer after image is appended.

  Hi all, I am using this jQuery plugin to re-size images. http://hirdet2.extra.hu/kepresize/ . $(document).ready(function(){ $('#content img').kepresize({maxWidth: 200,maxHeight: 150}); .... .... $('#content').append('<img src="pathtofile"/>'); }); However, these images are only being appended after the document loads, depending on the users actions. Therefore the appended images are not being re-sized. I have had a play around with .live() but can't seem to get it right. Any help would be much appreciated.
