  • Why does my mic boost automatically go to 100 on every boot?

    - by Ben
    When my computer turns on, it automatically sets the "mic boost" sound setting to 100. This causes a loud static sound in my speakers. I can manually go to alsamixer and turn the mic boost down manually, but I would prefer it if I didn't have to do this every time I turn the computer on. I've tried running sudo alsactl store after fixing the settings, and this does save them, but I have to run sudo alsactl restore to restore the settings. This means that I have to manually fix the sound every time I start the computer anyway, so it isn't really a fix. I tried putting sudo alsactl restore in my startup programs, but that didn't seem to fix anything. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04, but I started having this problem before upgrading from 11.10. I'm using a Sony Vaio laptop. I'm not really sure what made it start; it seemed like I just started having the problem randomly one day. Any help would be appreciated! Edit: here is the output from running amixer: http://paste.ubuntu.com/1060080/

  • Qt, MSVC, and /Zc:wchar_t- == I want to blow up the world

    - by Noah Roberts
    So Qt is compiled with /Zc:wchar_t- on windows. What this means is that instead of wchar_t being a typedef for some internal type (__wchar_t I think) it becomes a typedef for unsigned short. The really cool thing about this is that the default for MSVC is the opposite, which of course means that the libraries you're using are likely compiled with wchar_t being a different type than Qt's wchar_t. This doesn't become an issue of course until you try to use something like std::wstring in your code; especially when one or more libraries have functions that accept it as parameters. What effectively happens is that your code happily compiles but then fails to link because it's looking for definitions using std::wstring<unsigned short...> but they only contain definitions expecting std::wstring<__wchar_t...> (or whatever). So I did some web searching and ran into this link: http://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-6345 Based on the statement by Thiago Macieira, "Sorry, we will not support building Qt like this," I've been worried that fixing Qt to work like everything else might cause some problem and have been trying to avoid it. We recompiled all of our support libraries with the /Zc:wchar_t- flag and have been fairly content with that until a couple days ago when we started trying to port over (we're in the process of switching from Wx to Qt) some serialization code. Because of how win32 works, and because Wx just wraps win32, we've been using std::wstring to represent string data with the intent of making our product as i18n ready as possible. We did some testing and Wx did not work with multibyte characters when trying to print special stuff (even not so special stuff like the degree symbol was an issue). I'm not so sure that Qt has this problem since QString isn't just a wrapper to the underlying _TCHAR type but is a Unicode monster of some sort. At any rate, the serialization library in boost has compiled parts. We've attempted to recompile boost with /Zc:wchar_t- but so far our attempts to tell bjam to do this have gone unheeded. We're at an impasse. From where I'm sitting I have three options: Recompile Qt and hope it works with /Zc:wchar_t. There's some evidence around the web that others have done this but I have no way of predicting what will happen. All attempts to ask Qt people on forums and such have gone unanswered. Hell, even in that very bug report someone asks why and it just sat there for a year. Keep fighting with bjam until it listens. Right now I've got someone under me doing that and I have more experience fighting with things to get what I want but I do have to admit to getting rather tired of it. I'm also concerned that I'll KEEP running into this issue just because Qt wants to be a c**t. Stop using wchar_t for anything. Unfortunately my i18n experience is pretty much 0 but it seems to me that I just need to find the right to/from function in QString (it has a BUNCH) to encode the Unicode into 8-bytes and visa-versa. UTF8 functions look promising but I really want to be sure that no data will be lost if someone from Zimbabfuckegypt starts writing in their own language and the documentation in QString frightens me a little into thinking that could happen. Of course, I could always run into some library that insists I use wchar_t and then I'm back to 1 or 2 but I rather doubt that would happen. So, what's my question... Which of these options is my best bet? Is Qt going to eventually cause me to gouge out my own eyes because I decided to compile it with /Zc:wchar_t anyway? What's the magic incantation to get boost to build with /Zc:wchar_t- and will THAT cause permanent mental damage? Can I get away with just using the standard 8-bit (well, 'common' anyway) character classes and be i18n compliant/ready? How do other Qt developers deal with this mess?

  • Oracle Database 12c: Oracle Multitenant Option

    - by hamsun
    1. Why ? 2. What is it ? 3. How ? 1. Why ? The main idea of the 'grid' is to share resources, to make better use of storage, CPU and memory. If a database administrator wishes to implement this idea, he or she must consolidate many databases to one database. One of the concerns of running many applications together in one database is: ‚what will happen, if one of the applications must be restored because of a human error?‘ Tablespace point in time recovery can be used for this purpose, but there are a few prerequisites. Most importantly the tablespaces are strictly separated for each application. Another reason for creating separated databases is security: each customer has his own database. Therefore, there is often a proliferation of smaller databases. Each of them must be maintained, upgraded, each allocates virtual memory and runs background processes thereby wasting resources. Oracle 12c offers another possibility for virtualization, providing isolation at the database level: the multitenant container database holding pluggable databases. 2. What ? Pluggable databases are logical units inside a multitenant container database, which consists of one multitenant container database and up to 252 pluggable databases. The SGA is shared as are the background processes. The multitenant container database holds metadata information common for pluggable databases inside the System and the Sysaux tablespace, and there is just one Undo tablespace. The pluggable databases have smaller System and Sysaux tablespaces, containing just their 'personal' metadata. New data dictionary views will make the information available either on pdb (dba_views) or container level (cdb_views). There are local users, which are known in specific pluggable databases and common users known in all containers. Pluggable databases can be easily plugged to another multitenant container database and converted from a non-CDB. They can undergo point in time recovery. 3. How ? Creating a multitenant container database can be done using the database configuration assistant: There you find the new option: Create as Container Database. If you prefer ‚hand made‘ databases you can execute the command from a instance in nomount state: CREATE DATABASE cdb1 ENABLE PLUGGABLE DATABASE …. And of course this can also be achieved through Enterprise Manager Cloud. A freshly created multitenant container database consists of two containers: the root container as the 'rack' and a seed container, a template for future pluggable databases. There are 4 ways to create other pluggable databases: 1. Create an empty pdb from seed 2. Plug in a non-CDB 3. Move a pdb from another pdb 4. Copy a pdb from another pdb We will discuss option2: how to plug in a non_CDB into a multitenant container database. Three different methods are available : 1. Create an empty pdb and use Datapump in traditional export/import mode or with Transportable Tablespace or Database mode. This method is suitable for pre 12c databases. 2. Create an empty pdb and use GoldenGate replication. When the pdb catches up with the non-CDB, you fail over to the pdb. 3. Databases of Version 12c or higher can be plugged in with the help of the new dbms_pdb Package. This is a demonstration for method 3: Step1: Connect to the non-CDB to be plugged in and create an xml File with description of the database. The xml file is written to $ORACLE_HOME/dbs per default and contains mainly information about the datafiles. Step 2: Check if the non-CDB is pluggable in the multitenant container database: Step 3: Create the pluggable database, connected to the Multitenant container database. With nocopy option the files will be reused, but the tempfile is created anew: A service is created and registered automatically with the listener: Step 4: Delete unnecessary metadata from PDB SYSTEM tablespace: To connect to newly created pdb, edit tnsnames.ora and add entry for new pdb. Connect to plugged-in non_CDB and clean up Data Dictionary to remove entries now maintained in multitenant container database. As all kept objects have to be recompiled it will take a few minutes. Step 5: The plugged-in database will be automatically synchronised by creating common users and roles when opened the first time in read write mode. Step 6: Verify tablespaces and users: There is only one local tablespace (users) and one local user (scott) in the plugged-in non_CDB pdb_orcl. This method of creating plugged_in non_CDB from is fast and easy for 12c databases. The method for deplugging a pluggable database from a CDB is to create a new non_CDB and use the the new full transportable feature of Datapump and drop the pluggable database. • How to get attributes values separately for each container present on the webpage in jquery ?

    - by Rachel
    This question is in continuation to How to get attributes of container in jquer, I have different containers on my webpage and all of them have <div id = "some values"> now how can I get attributes values separately for each component ? Is there any way I can know which attribute id belong to which container div ? Currently I am using : var id = $( '.promotion' ).attr( 'id' ); But if I have multiple promotional components on page and all have same div attribute as id than how can I relate that this particular attribute id belonged to this specific container ? Update: I am having a function which is called for each container present on the page and so if I am using above mentioned code than will it not always return me the first match for id in the div and would never go to other divs and so I will always get same value for id which is for the first container ? If so than what is the work around for this ? Hope this question is clear.

  • Binary serialization/de-serialization in C++ and C#

    - by 6pack kid
    Hello. I am working on a distributed application which has two components. One is written in standard C++ (not managed C++) and the other one is written in C#. Both are communicating via a message bus. I have a situation in which I need to pass objects from C++ to C# application and for this I need to serialize those objects in C++ and de-serialize them in C# (something like marshaling/un-marshaling in .NET). I need to perform this serialization in binary and not in XML (due to performance reasons). I have used Boost.Serialization to do this when both ends were implemented in C++ but now that I have a .NET application on one end, Boost.Serialization is not a viable solution. I am looking for a solution that allows me to perform (de)serialization across C++ and .NET boundary i.e., cross platform binary serialization. I know I can implement the (de)serialization code in a C++ dll and use P/Invoke in the .NET application, but I want to keep that as a last resort. Also, I want to know if I use some standard like gzip, will that be efficient? Are there any other alternatives to gzip? What are the pros/cons of them? Thanks

  • Looking to reimplement build toolchain from bash/grep/sed/awk/(auto)make/configure to something more

    - by wash
    I currently maintain a few boxes that house a loosely related cornucopia of coding projects, databases and repositories (ranging from a homebrew *nix distro to my class notes), maintained by myself and a few equally pasty-skinned nerdy friends (all of said cornucopia is stored in SVN). The vast majority of our code is in C/C++/assembly (a few utilities are in python/perl/php, we're not big java fans), compiled in gcc. Our build toolchain typically consists of a hodgepodge of make, bash, grep, sed and awk. Recent discovery of a Makefile nearly as long as the program it builds (as well as everyone's general anxiety with my cryptic sed and awking) has motivated me to seek a less painful build system. Currently, the strongest candidate I've come across is Boost Build/Bjam as a replacement for GNU make and python as a replacement for our build-related bash scripts. Are there any other C/C++/asm build systems out there worth looking into? I've browsed through a number of make alternatives, but I haven't found any that are developed by names I know aside from Boost's. (I should note that an ability to easily extract information from svn commandline tools such as svnversion is important, as well as enough flexibility to configure for builds of asm projects as easily as c/c++ projects)

  • C++ meta-splat function

    - by aaa
    hello. Is there an existing function (in boost mpl or fusion) to splat meta-vector to variadic template arguments? for example: splat<vector<T1, T2, ...>, function>::type same as function<T1, T2, ...> my search have not found one, and I do not want to reinvent one if it already exists. edit: after some tinkering, apparently it's next to impossible to accomplish this in general way, as it would require declaring full template template parameter list for all possible cases. only reasonable solution is to use macro: #define splat(name, function) \ template<class T, ...> struct name; \ template<class T> \ struct name<T,typename boost::enable_if_c< \ result_of::size<T>::value == 1>::type> { \ typedef function< \ typename result_of::value_at_c<T,0>::type \ > type; \ }; Oh well. thank you

  • Is there a way to find out whether a class is a direct base of another class?

    - by user176168
    Hi I'm wondering whether there is a way to find out whether a class is a direct base of another class i.e. in boost type trait terms a is_direct_base_of function. As far as I can see boost doesn't see to support this kind of functionality which leads me to think that its impossible with the current C++ standard. The reason I want it is to do some validation checking on two macro's that are used for a reflection system to specify that one class is derived from another e.g. header.h: #define BASE A #define DERIVED B class A {}; class B : public A { #include <rtti.h> }; rtti.h: // I want to check that the two macro's are correct with a compile time assert Rtti<BASE, DERIVED> m_rtti; Although the macro's seem unnecessary in this simple example in my real world scenario rtti.h is a lot more complex. One possible avenue would be to compare the size of the this pointer with the size of a this pointer cast to the base type and some how trying to figure out whether its the size of the base class itself away or something (yeah your right I don't know how that would work either! lol)

  • A generic C++ library that provides QtConcurrent functionality?

    - by Lucas
    QtConcurrent is awesome. I'll let the Qt docs speak for themselves: QtConcurrent includes functional programming style APIs for parallel list processing, including a MapReduce and FilterReduce implementation for shared-memory (non-distributed) systems, and classes for managing asynchronous computations in GUI applications. For instance, you give QtConcurrent::map() an iterable sequence and a function that accepts items of the type stored in the sequence, and that function is applied to all the items in the collection. This is done in a multi-threaded manner, with a thread pool equal to the number of logical CPU's on the system. There are plenty of other function in QtConcurrent, like filter(), filteredReduced() etc. The standard CompSci map/reduce functions and the like. I'm totally in love with this, but I'm starting work on an OSS project that will not be using the Qt framework. It's a library, and I don't want to force others to depend on such a large framework like Qt. I'm trying to keep external dependencies to a minimum (it's the decent thing to do). I'm looking for a generic C++ framework that provides me with the same/similar high-level primitives that QtConcurrent does. AFAIK boost has nothing like this (I may be wrong though). boost::thread is very low-level compared to what I'm looking for. I know C# has something very similar with their Parallel Extensions so I know this isn't a Qt-only idea. What do you suggest I use?

  • C++ variable to const expression

    - by user1344784
    template <typename Real> class A{ }; template <typename Real> class B{ }; //... a few dozen more similar template classes class Computer{ public slots: void setFrom(int from){ from_ = from; } void setTo(int to){ to_ = to; } private: template <int F, int T> void compute(){ using boost::fusion::vector; using boost::fusion::at_c; vector<A<float>, B<float>, ...> v; at_c<from_>(v).operator()(at_c<to_>(v)); //error; needs to be const-expression. }; This question isn't about Qt, but there is a line of Qt code in my example. The setFrom() and setTo() are functions that are called based on user selection via the GUI widget. The root of my problem is that 'from' and 'to' are variables. In my compute member function I need to pick a type (A, B, etc.) based on the values of 'from' and 'to'. The only way I know how to do what I need to do is to use switch statements, but that's extremely tedious in my case and I would like to avoid. Is there anyway to convert the error line to a constant-expression?

  • template specialization for static member functions; howto?

    - by Rolle
    I am trying to implement a template function with handles void differently using template specialization. The following code gives me an "Explicit specialization in non-namespace scope" in gcc: template <typename T> static T safeGuiCall(boost::function<T ()> _f) { if (_f.empty()) throw GuiException("Function pointer empty"); { ThreadGuard g; T ret = _f(); return ret; } } // template specialization for functions wit no return value template <> static void safeGuiCall<void>(boost::function<void ()> _f) { if (_f.empty()) throw GuiException("Function pointer empty"); { ThreadGuard g; _f(); } } I have tried moving it out of the class (the class is not templated) and into the namespace but then I get the error "Explicit specialization cannot have a storage class". I have read many discussions about this, but people don't seem to agree how to specialize function templates. Any ideas?

  • Is it possible to create ostream object, which outputs to multiple destinations?

    - by fiktor
    In 0-th approximation I have a class class MyClass{ public: ... std::ostream & getOStream(){return f;} private: ofstream f; ... }; Which is used sometimes in the following way: MyClass myclass; myclass.getOStream()<<some<<information<<printed<<here; But now I want to change the class MyClass, so that information will be printed both to f and to std::out, i.e. I want the above line to be equivalent to myclass.f<<some<<information<<printed<<here; std::cout<<some<<information<<printed<<here; I don't know any good way to do that. Do you? Is there any standard solution (for example in stl or in boost)? P.S. I tried to search on this, but it seems that I don't know good keywords. Words multiple, output, ostream, C++, boost seem to be too general.

  • Confused about std::runtime_error vs. std::logic_error

    - by David Gladfelter
    I recently saw that the boost program_options library throws a logic_error if the command-line input was un-parsable. That challenged my assumptions about logic_error vs. runtime_error. I assumed that logic errors (logic_error and its derived classes) were problems that resulted from internal failures to adhere to program invariants, often in the form of illegal arguments to internal API's. In that sense they are largely equivalent to ASSERT's, but meant to be used in released code (unlike ASSERT's which are not usually compiled into released code.) They are useful in situations where it is infeasible to integrate separate software components in debug/test builds or the consequences of a failure are such that it is important to give runtime feedback about the invalid invariant condition to the user. Similarly, I thought that runtime_errors resulted exclusively from runtime conditions outside of the control of the programmer: I/O errors, invalid user input, etc. However, program_options is obviously heavily (primarily?) used as a means of parsing end-user input, so under my mental model it certainly should throw a runtime_error in the case of bad input. Where am I going wrong? Do you agree with the boost model of exception typing?

  • Change value of adjacent vertices and remove self loop

    - by StereoMatching
    Try to write a Karger’s algorithm with boost::graph example (first column is vertice, other are adjacent vertices): 1 2 3 2 1 3 4 3 1 2 4 4 2 3 assume I merge 2 to 1, I get the result 1 2 3 2 1 1 3 4 2 1 3 4 3 1 2 4 4 2 3 first question : How could I change the adjacent vertices("2" to "1") of vertice 1? my naive solution template<typename Vertex, typename Graph> void change_adjacent_vertices_value(Vertex input, Vertex value, Graph &g) { for (auto it = boost::adjacent_vertices(input, g); it.first != it.second; ++it.first){ if(*it.first == value){ *(it.first) = input; //error C2106: '=' : left operand must be l-value } } } Apparently, I can't set the value of the adjacent vertices to "1" by this way The result I want after "change_adjacent_vertices_value" 1 1 3 1 1 1 3 4 2 1 3 4 3 1 2 4 4 2 3 second question : How could I pop out the adjacent vertices?   • C Programming: malloc() for a 2D array (using pointer-to-pointer)

    - by vikramtheone
    Hi Guys, yesterday I had posted a question: How should I pass a pointer to a function and allocate memory for the passed pointer from inside the called function? From the answers I got, I was able to understand what mistake I was doing. I'm facing a new problem now, can anyone help out with this? I want to dynamically allocate a 2D array, so I'm passing a Pointer-to-Pointer from my main() to another function called alloc_2D_pixels(...), where I use malloc(...) and for(...) loop to allocate memory for the 2D array. Well, after returning from the alloc_2D_pixels(...) function, the pointer-to-pointer still remains NULL, so naturally, when I try accessing or try to free(...) the Pointer-to-Pointer, the program hangs. Can anyone suggest me what mistakes I'm doing here? Help!!! Vikram SOURCE: main() { unsigned char **ptr; unsigned int rows, cols; if(alloc_2D_pixels(&ptr, rows, cols)==ERROR) // Satisfies this condition printf("Memory for the 2D array not allocated"); // NO ERROR is returned if(ptr == NULL) // ptr is NULL so no memory was allocated printf("Yes its NULL!"); // Because ptr is NULL, with any of these 3 statements below the program HANGS ptr[0][0] = 10; printf("Element: %d",ptr[0][0]); free_2D_alloc(&ptr); } signed char alloc_2D_pixels(unsigned char ***memory, unsigned int rows, unsigned int cols) { signed char status = NO_ERROR; memory = malloc(rows * sizeof(unsigned char** )); if(memory == NULL) { status = ERROR; printf("ERROR: Memory allocation failed!"); } else { int i; for(i = 0; i< cols; i++) { memory[i] = malloc(cols * sizeof(unsigned char)); if(memory[i]==NULL) { status = ERROR; printf("ERROR: Memory allocation failed!"); } } } // Inserted the statements below for debug purpose only memory[0][0] = (unsigned char)10; // I'm able to access the array from printf("\nElement %d",memory[0][0]); // here with no problems return status; } void free_2D_pixels(unsigned char ***ptr, unsigned int rows) { int i; for(i = 0; i < rows; i++) { free(ptr[i]); } free(ptr); }

  • C++ vector of strings, pointers to functions, and the resulting frustration.

    - by Kyle
    So I am a first year computer science student, for on of my final projects, I need to write a program that takes a vector of strings, and applies various functions to these. Unfortunately, I am really confused on how to use pointer to pass the vector from function to function. Below is some sample code to give an idea of what I am talking about. I also get an error message when I try to deference any pointer. thanks. #include <iostream> #include <cstdlib> #include <vector> #include <string> using namespace std; vector<string>::pointer function_1(vector<string>::pointer ptr); void function_2(vector<string>::pointer ptr); int main() { vector<string>::pointer ptr; vector<string> svector; ptr = &svector[0]; function_1(ptr); function_2(ptr); } vector<string>::pointer function_1(vector<string>::pointer ptr) { string line; for(int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { cout << "enter some input ! \n"; // i need to be able to pass a reference of the vector getline(cin, line); // through various functions, and have the results *ptr.pushback(line); // reflectedin main(). But I cannot use member functions } // of vector with a deferenced pointer. return(ptr); } void function_2(vector<string>::pointer ptr) { for(int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { cout << *ptr[i] << endl; } }

  • safe dereferencing and deletion

    - by serejko
    Hi, I'm relatively new to C++ and OOP in general and currently trying to make such a class that allows to dereference and delete a dead or invalid pointer without any care of having undefined behavior or program fault in result, and I want to ask you is it a good idea and is there something similar which is already implemented by someone else? or maybe I'm doing something completely wrong? I've just started making it and here is the code I currently have: template<class T> class SafeDeref { public: T& operator *() { hash_set<T*>::iterator it = theStore.find(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); if (it != theStore.end()) return *this; return theDefaultObject; } T* operator ->() { hash_set<T*>::iterator it = theStore.find(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); if (it != theStore.end()) return this; return &theDefaultObject; } void* operator new(size_t size) { void* ptr = malloc(size * sizeof(T)); if (ptr != 0) theStore.insert(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); return ptr; } void operator delete(void* ptr) { hash_set<T*>::iterator it = theStore.find(reinterpret_cast<T*>(ptr)); if (it != theStore.end()) { theStore.erase(it); free(ptr); } } protected: static bool isInStore(T* ptr) { return theStore.find(ptr) != theStore.end(); } private: static T theDefaultObject; static hash_set<T*> theStore; }; The idea is that each class with the safe dereference should be inherited from it like this: class Foo : public SafeDeref<Foo> { void doSomething(); }; So... Any advices? Thanks in advance. P.S. If you're wondering why I need this... well, I'm creating a set of native functions for some scripting environment, and all of them use pointers to internally allocated objects as handles to them and they're able to delete them as well (input data can be wrong), so this is kinda protection from damaging host application's memory And I really sorry for my bad English

  • What are the right reverse PTR, domain keys, and SPF settings for two domains running the same appli

    - by James A. Rosen
    I just read Jeff Atwood's recent post on DNS configuration for email and decided to give it a go on my application. I have a web-app that runs on one server under two different IPs and domain names, on both HTTP and HTTPS for each: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName foo.org ServerAlias www.foo.org ... </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 1.2.3.4:443> ServerName foo.org ServerAlias www.foo.org </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName bar.org ServerAlias www.bar.org ... </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 2.3.4.5:443> ServerName bar.org ServerAlias www.bar.org </VirtualHost> I'm using GMail as my SMTP server. Do I need the reverse PTR and SenderID records? If so, do I put the same ones on all of my records (foo.org, www.foo.org, bar.org, www.bar.org, ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM, ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM, ..)? I'm pretty sure I want the domain-keys records, but I'm not sure which domains to attach them to. The Google mail servers? foo.org and bar.org? Everything?

  • On load rather than on click

    - by connor
    I have the following code: jQuery(function ($) { var OSX = { container: null, init: function () { $("input.apply, a.apply").click(function (e) { e.preventDefault(); $("#osx-modal-content").modal({ overlayId: 'osx-overlay', containerId: 'osx-container', closeHTML: null, minHeight: 80, opacity: 65, position: ['0',], overlayClose: true, onOpen: OSX.open, onClose: OSX.close }); }); }, open: function (d) { var self = this; self.container = d.container[0]; d.overlay.fadeIn('fast', function () { $("#osx-modal-content", self.container).show(); var title = $("#osx-modal-title", self.container); title.show(); d.container.slideDown('fast', function () { setTimeout(function () { var h = $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).height() + title.height() + 20; // padding d.container.animate( {height: h}, 200, function () { $("div.close", self.container).show(); $("#osx-modal-data", self.container).show(); } ); }, 300); }); }) }, close: function (d) { var self = this; // this = SimpleModal object d.container.animate( {top:"-" + (d.container.height() + 20)}, 500, function () { self.close(); // or $.modal.close(); } ); } }; OSX.init(); }); To load this script, a button with the class "apply" has to be clicked... Does anyone know a way of loading this script "onload" without a button being clicked? I have tried a lot of things, but I am a newbie when it comes to Javascript. Thanks!

  • §non_lazy_ptr iphone sdk 3.0

    After I built my iphone 2.2.1 application in sdk 3.0, I get a lot of errors of type §non_lazy_ptr. I am getting it on the CFFTPStream constants, like kCFStreamPropertyFTPPassword and kCFStreamPropertyUserName. Anyone know what causes this?

  • Converting listview to a composite control

    - by Paul
    The link below shows a listview composite control in its most basic form however I can't seem to extend this to what I'm trying to do. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/92689/how-to-define-listview-templates-in-code My listview has 1 tablerow with 2 fields. The first field contains 1 element whilst the second field contains 2 elements as shown below. <asp:ListView ID="lstArticle" runat="server"> <LayoutTemplate> <table id="itemPlaceholder" runat="server"> </table> </LayoutTemplate> <ItemTemplate> <div class="ctrlArticleList_rptStandardItem"> <table width="100%"> <tr> <td valign="top" class="ctrlArticleList_firstColumnWidth"> <a href="<%# GetURL(Container.DataItem) %>"> <%# GetImage(Container.DataItem)%> </a> </td> <td valign="top"> <span class="ctrlArticleList_title"> <a href="<%# GetURL(Container.DataItem) %>"> <%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Title") %> </a> </span> <span class="ctrlArticleList_date"> <%# convertToShortDate(DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "ActiveDate"))%> </span> <div class="ctrlArticleList_standFirst"> <%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "StandFirst")%> </div> </td> </tr> </table> </div> </ItemTemplate> So to convert this I have to use the InstantiateIn method of the ITemplate for the layouttemplate and the ItemTemplate. Data is bound to the itemtemplate using the DataBinding event. My question at the moment is how do I setup the ItemTemplate class and bind the values from the above ListView ItemTemplate. This is what I've managed so far: private class LayoutTemplate : ITemplate { public void InstantiateIn(Control container) { var table = new HtmlGenericControl("table") { ID = "itemPlaceholder" }; container.Controls.Add(table); } } private class ItemTemplate : ITemplate { public void InstantiateIn(Control container) { var tableRow = new HtmlGenericControl("tr"); //first field in row var tableFieldImage = new HtmlGenericControl("td"); var imageLink = new HtmlGenericControl("a"); imageLink.ID = "imageLink"; tableRow.Controls.Add(imageLink); // second field in row var tableFieldTitle = new HtmlGenericControl("td"); var title = new HtmlGenericControl("a"); tableFieldTitle.Controls.Add(title); tableRow.Controls.Add(tableFieldTitle); //Bind the data with the controls tableRow.DataBinding += BindData; //add the controls to the container container.Controls.Add(tableRow); } public void BindData(object sender, EventArgs e) { var container = (HtmlGenericControl)sender; var dataItem = ((ListViewDataItem)container.NamingContainer).DataItem; container.Controls.Add(new Literal() { Text = dataItem.ToString() }); } One of the functions in the ListView just for an example is: public string GetURL(object objArticle) { ArticleItem articleItem = (ArticleItem)objArticle; Article article = new Article(Guid.Empty, articleItem.ContentVersionID); return GetArticleURL(article); } Summary What do I need to do to convert the following into a composite control: 1. <a href="<%# GetURL(Container.DataItem) %>"><%# GetImage(Container.DataItem)%></a> 2. <a href="<%# GetURL(Container.DataItem) %>"> <%# DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "Title") %> </a>

  • Flex Error: Repeater is not executing.

    - by creativepragmatic
    Hello Everyone, I have been trying to get a Repeater to work since yesterday. It works the first time it has been loaded with data but the second time, it is loaded, the following error results with the debugger higlighting a row with the statement isHandlingEvent = false; in the watcherFired method of the Binding class. This happens whether the Repeater is updated by setting its dataProvider or if a bound variable is changed. Thank you in advance for any help, Orville Error: Repeater is not executing. at mx.core::Repeater/get currentItem()[C:\autobuild\galaga\frameworks\projects\framework\src\mx\core\Repeater.as:305] at • Trouble move-capturing std::unique_ptr in a lambda using std::bind

    - by user2478832
    I'd like to capture a variable of type std::vector<std::unique_ptr<MyClass>> in a lambda expression (in other words, "capture by move"). I found a solution which uses std::bind to capture unique_ptr (http://stackoverflow.com/a/12744730/2478832) and decided to use it as a starting point. However, the most simplified version of the proposed code I could get doesn't compile (lots of template mistakes, it seems to try to call unique_ptr's copy constructor). #include <functional> #include <memory> std::function<void ()> a(std::unique_ptr<int>&& param) { return std::bind( [] (int* p) {}, std::move(param)); } int main() { a(std::unique_ptr<int>(new int())); } Can anybody point out what is wrong with this code? EDIT: tried changing the lambda to take a reference to unique_ptr, it still doesn't compile. #include <functional> #include <memory> std::function<void ()> a(std::unique_ptr<int>&& param) { return std::bind( [] (std::unique_ptr<int>& p) {}, // also as a const reference std::move(param)); } int main() { a(std::unique_ptr<int>(new int())); }
