    Greetings, I'm new to TCL scripting, and I have a very very basic xml file which I need to import information from into tcl. Example of XML Document Structure: <object> <type>Hardware</type> <name>System Name</name> <description>Basic Description of System.</description> <attributes> <vendor>Dell</vendor> <contract>MM/DD/YY</contract> <supportExpiration>MM/DD/YY</supportExpiration> <location>Building 123</location> <serial>xxx-xxx-xxxx</serial> <mac>some-mac-address</mac> </attributes> </object> Etc... I've seen something called TCLXML but I'm not sure if this is the best route or even how to create the package to use it.. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    I'm learning javascript. Poked around this excellent site to gather intel. Keep coming across questions / answers about javascript, JQUERY, JQUERY with AJAX, javascript with JQUERY, AJAX alone. My conclusion: these are all individually powerful and useful. My confusion: how does one determine which/which combination to use ? I've concluded that javascript is readily available on most browsers. For example, I can extend a simple HTML page with <html> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> document.write("Hello World!"); </script> </body> </html> However, within the scope of Python/DJANGO, many of these questions are JQUERY and AJAX related. At which point or under what development circumstances would I conclude that javascript alone isn't going to "cut it", and I need to implement JQUERY and/or AJAX and/or some other permutation ?

    Hi, I'm trying to validate an XML document against a schema (which is embedded in my program as a resource). I got everything to work, so I tried to test for errors by adding a second sibling node in the XML at a location where the schema specifies maxOccurs="1". The problem is that my ValidationEventHandler is never getting called, also XmlDocument.Load() is throwing an XmlSchemaValidationException exception when I'd expected XmlDocument.Validate() to do that.     Hi, I'm trying to get the jQuery UI sortable plugin to work and I've created a list that looks like this: <ul id="sortable"> <li>Item 1</li> <li>Item 2</li> <li>Item 3</li> <li>Item 4</li> <li>Item 5</li> </ul> And I've included the plugin script files: $(function() { $("#sortable").sortable(); alert('test'); $("#sortable").disableSelection(); }); So I just tried putting the alert box before .sortable is run and the alertbox is showing. But putting it after .sortable isn't working. Which means that .sortable is failing right?     I'm working with the awesome select2 control. I'm trying to clean and disable the select2 with the content too so I do this: $("#select2id").empty(); $("#select2id").select2("disable"); Ok, it works, but if i had a value selected all the items are removed, the control is disabled, but the selected value is still displayed. I want to clear all content so the placeholder would be showed.   • How to Resolve a Transformation Service with BRE that occurs after an Orchestration in an Itinerary?

    In trying to implement simple integration patterns with Biztalk ESB Toolkit 2.0, I'm facing a problem trying to resolve a Transformation Itinerary Service that occurs after an Orchestration. I'm using the BRE Resolver to execute rules that need to inspect the Context Message Type property to determine the appropriate map to use. However, once the message reaches the step in the Itinerary associated with the Transformation Service, the map fails to execute. From careful investigation, it appears that the message type is not supplied to the "Resolution" object that is used internally by the BRE resolver. Indeed, since the message leaving the preceding Orchestration is typed System.Xml.XmlDocument, the type of the message is "demoted" from the context. By tracking rules engine execution, I can observe that the type of the message is indeed lost when reaching the BRE resolver. The type of the message is empty, whereas the strongly-typed of the document is Microsoft.XLANGs.BaseTypes.Any. The Orchestration service that I use is taken straight from the samples that ship with ESB Toolkit 2.0. Is there a way to perform Context-Based BRE resolution after an Orchestration in an Itinerary?

    Hi everyone, I'm working on the modification of some code to use preparedStatement instead of normal Statement, for security and performance reason. Our application is currently storing information into an embedded derby database, but we are going to move soon to Oracle. I've found two things that I need your help guys about Oracle and Prepared Statement : 1- I've found this document saying that Oracle doesn't handle bind parameters into IN clauses, so we cannot supply a query like : Select pokemon from pokemonTable where capacity in (?,?,?,?) Is that true ? Is there any workaround ? ... Why ? 2- We have some fields which are of type TIMESTAMP. So with our actual Statement, the query looks like this : Select raichu from pokemonTable where evolution = TO_TIMESTAMP('2500-12-31 00:00:00.000', 'YYYY-MM-DD HH24:MI:SS.FF') What should be done for a prepared Statement ?     Hi, I Want to create a DTD schema for this xml document: <root> <student> <name> <firstname>S1</firstname> <lastname>S2</lastname> </name> </student> <course> <name>CS101</name> </course> </root> as you can see , the element name in the course contains plain text ,but the element name in the student is complex type ( first-name, last-name ). The following is the DTD: <!ELEMENT root (course|student)*> <!ELEMENT student (name)> <!ELEMENT name (lastname|firstname)> <!ELEMENT firstname (#PCDATA)> <!ELEMENT lastname (#PCDATA)> <!ELEMENT course (name)> When I want to validate it , I get an error because the course's name has different structure then the student's name . My Question: how can I make a work-around solution for this situation without changing the name of element name using DTD not xml schema . Thanks.

It begins playing anyway. When clicking on the activation div, IE7 pops up a wrong sized blank div with a nav (params are set to not show nav and scrubber), and no buttons on the nav and srubber work. IE8 shows the right size but same behavior with nav and scrubber not working, and blank screen. My guess: I'm thinking that the problem is with the javascript not being called at the right times. It seems it's loading the facebox without the jwplayer. At least I assume. Hence the reason why the nav is there. I thinking that it did not read the javascript for that.

    Hello, the title says it all. I have seen some similar questions on SO like this or this, but either i have overlooked something or my requirement is different, neither works. My situation is following: i have a Masterpage one of its contentpage is called MasterData.aspx MasterData has an asp.net ajax tabcontainer control with one usercontrol in every tabpanel these usercontrols(f.e. MD_Customer.ascx)hold the main content(like a normal page) they all have GridViews in it and i want to provide an Excel-Export-Button What i've tried is is to use an iframe like here. But the function that adds the iframe to the document gets never called and therefore i never see the save-as-dialog. Maybe this is caused by using a MasterPage. Does somebody has an idea on how to provide a button in an UpdatePanel that causes an async postback, so that i can generate a CSV dynamically in codebehind and write it to the response?   • Can't write to dynamic iframe using jQuery

    My goal is to dynamically create an iframe and write ad JavaScript into it using jQuery (e.g. Google AdSense script). My code works on Chrome, but fails intermittently in Firefox i.e. sometimes the ad script runs and renders the ad, and other times it doesn't. When it doesn't work, the script code itself shows up in the iframe. My guess is these intermittent failures occur because the iframe is not ready by the time I write to it. I have tried various iterations of *iframe_html* (my name for the function which is supposed to wait for the iframe to be ready), but no luck. Any help appreciated! PS: I have read various threads (e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/205087/jquery-ready-in-a-dynamically-inserted-iframe).     Hello guys. Just want to know if there is a way to detect how many times a user has clicked a button by using Jquery. My main application has a button that can add input fields depend on the users. He/She can adds as many input fields as they need. When they submit the form, The add page will add the data to my database. My current idea is to create a hidden input field and set the value to zero. Every time a user clicks the button, jquery would update the attribute of the hidden input field value. Then the "add page" can detect the loop time. See the example below. I just want to know if there are better practices to do this.     Styling forms (form elements) is something that even Eric Meyer prefers to avoid. However, most business forms, and that is where styling is at issue; 'contact us' forms are easy to style, put window estate at a premium, with more 'document level' (e.g. invoice) fields, plus 'detail level' (e.g. invoice line) fields. Factors I often find at play are: At my minimum, at least two horizontally adjacent fieldsets are required. In applications vs. public web pages, fixed positioning vs fluid layout is often better. Quantity of content is important, vs. exaggerated readability. Users know the system, and cues etc. take a back seat. In light of factors like these, is there any available guidence for styling web form based applications? Are there any CSS or JavaScript frameworks that would make my quest to style these applications better than Visual Studios still pathetic 'Auto-format' (what drugs were those people on? I will never take them.)

    Bug: when hiding an element with JavaScript in IE8, the margin of still-visible other elements on the side is ignored. This bug has been introduced with IE8, since it works as expected in IE6+7 (and other browsers). <html> <head> <style> #a, #b, #c, #d {background: #ccf; padding: 4px; margin-bottom: 8px;} </style> </head> <body> <div id="a">a</div> <div id="b">b</div> <div id="c">c</div> <div id="d">d</div> <script> setTimeout(function () { document.getElementById("b").style.display = "none"; }, 1000); </script> </body> </html> When running this code, notice how a and c have a margin of 8 between them in normal browsers, but a margin of 0 in IE8. Remove the padding, and IE8 behaves like normal. Remove the timeout and IE8 behaves like normal. A border behaves the same way. I've been working with IE-bugs the last 10 years, but this has me stumped. The solution for now is to wrap the divs, and apply the margin to the outer element and other styles to the inner. But that's reminicent of horrible IE6-workarounds. Any better solutions?

  • How to only fade content once it is ready in Jquery?

    Hello, I've seen examples for load() and ready(), but they always seem to apply to the window or document body, or a div or img or something like that. I have a hover() function, and when you hover over it, it uses fadeIn() to reveal it. Problem is, the images inside the div aren't loaded yet, so it ends up just appearing anyway. I need code that will only allow the image to fade when it's contents are fully loaded. Said that, I want to set a few anchor tags with a class equals to "modal", and when a particular anchor tag is clicked, get its Id and pass it to a function that will execute another function based on the Id that was passed. This is what I have so far: // this gets an array with all the elements that have a class equals to "modal" var anchorTrigger = document.getElementsByClassName('modal'); Then I tried to set the addEventListener for each item in the array by doing this: var anchorTotal = anchorTrigger.length; for(var i = 0; i < anchorTotal ; i++){ anchorTrigger.addEventListener('click', fireModal, false); } and then run the last function "fireModal" that will open the modal, like so: function fireModal(){ //some more code here ... } My problem is that in the "for" loop, I get an error saying that anchorTrigger.addEvent ... is not a function. I can tell that the error might be related to the fact that I'm trying to set up the "addEventListener" to an array as oppose to individual elements, but I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • JSP: Refresh ComboBox options

    Hi, There's a class 'Car' with brand and model as properties. I have a list of items of this class List<Car> myCars. I need to represent in a JSP website 2 ComboBox, one for brand and another for model, that when you select the brand, in the model list only appear the ones from that brand. I don't know how to do this in a dynamic way. Any suggestion where to start? Thanks Update Ok, what I do now is send in the request a list with all the brand names, and a list of the items.   • How can I bind a javascript dialog using Knockout?

    I've got a list of data in an observableArray and I want to show it in a javascript dialog window (I'm using jQuery.blockUI if it matters). Unfortunately the dialog seems to come unbound after the page is loaded. The dialog initializes correctly (the data is displayed), but it isn't updating with changes. There are no Javascript errors and I've moved the binding to after the dialog is generated and added to the document (no effect). I've also tried calling ko.applyBinding on the main div that makes up the dialog but that, for some reason, causes part of the main page to hide (the DOM is there, but they are hidden). EDIT: I've created a project on jsfiddle that reproduces the problem. The main culprit seems to be wrapping the content of the dialog in a div. If I show the content directly it seems to work (of course I can't do that, the wrappers provide a common style for our dialogs). I'm recovering from the flu and could easily be missing something obvious, but I've been trying all day and nothing is coming to me. Any ideas?
