I want to calculate displacement and rotation angle of the toy car. I came across some research papers but couldn't find any libraries to the job.   I have a webcam that works as a v4l2 device. What is the most convenient way to capture either a stop-motion or time-lapse video? N.B. stop-motion and time-lapse are related but conceptually different. Time-lapse is where you take a photo of a scene at a set interval and then combine it into a video (that looks like it's going really fast). Stop-motion is where you control the scene and take an image for every change you make, to form an animation (eg Wallace and Grommit). An application for time-lapse needs to be able to take a photo at a set interval.

C requires and runs after b, b requires and runs after a, so when I execute "systemctl start c.service", all three of them will be launched one by one. But when I want to stop all of them, I have to execute "systemctl stop a.service b.service c.service". Is there any other way to stop all of them with less typing? I know with "Bindto=" I can use "systemctl stop a.service" to stop all of them, but what if I got c Bindto a and b, while a and b have no required relationship to each other?

  I'm trying to run a service that uses $HOME and $USER environment variables. I could set them in service itself, but that would only be a temporary solution. Let's say I have a script test.sh with following content: echo $USER And I run it with start-stop-daemon to see my results: $ start-stop-daemon --start --exec `pwd`/test.sh --user guest --group guest --chuid -guest root Seems like it does not update environment, maybe that should be reported as a bug? I have found a nasty hacky solution, which only works (for unknown reason) on my this simple use case: $ start-stop-daemon --exec /usr/bin/sudo --start -- -u guest -i 'echo $USER' guest I'm sure someone else stumbled upon this, I'm interested in clean solution. $ start-stop-daemon --version start-stop-daemon 1.13.11+gentoo

  Preferably using .htaccess files, though .conf files are an option, is there any way to stop Apache serving certain filetypes? For example, .db shouldn't be served for obvious reason (privacy and whatnot, etc.), so could I make them show as a 404 but still have them available for my CGI scripts? Putting these sensitive files in a directory other than /public_HTML/ is also an option, though I like having them in the same directory as the scripts for ease of use. Cheers

  Hello, I have a problem with my slideshow script. I have embedding a flash video file into my website with this slideshow called monoslideshow, and everything seems to work perfectly. Trouble is, when I am clicking on another menu button that should jump to another frame, it still keeps playing the video and sound while displaying the new menu data. So I will probably need some code that stops the video instantly, when another menu button is clicked. But how do I write it and where do I put it? • Unity has jerky motion when using Vector2.Lerp

  I made a 2D game with some sprite move to random position. I used Vector2.Lerp and Time.deltaTime to smooth transfer of sprite. When I build this game in iOS ( I used iPhone 4s and iPhone 5 for test ) all sprite made jerky motion and cause my game lagging. But in Android game run very smoothy. I used only 9 sprite and move all in same time. Can someone have any solution to fix this? Thanks. P/s: Sorry about my bad English.

• How to create "lock" (stop updating of cells) in Excel?

  My question is pretty simple, but one to which I can't really find a solution myself. I use Excel quite frequently, but rarely the fancy stuff. Anyway, to the point: How do I create a dropmenu that will lock certain cells, rows or columns? (by lock I mean unable to change via hand and stops updating itself). Example: A1 = 5 B1 = A1 * 100 Can I "lock" the B1-cell, so that changing A1 will have no effect on B1 (Will remain at value 500)? I would preferably want to be able to "unlock" the cell as well, instead of simply making function into value. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

• Fast, very lightweight algorithm for camera motion detection?

  I'm working on an augmented reality app for iPhone that involves a very processor-intensive object recognition algorithm (pushing the CPU at 100% it can get through maybe 5 frames per second), and in an effort to both save battery power and make the whole thing less "jittery" I'm trying to come up with a way to only run that object recognizer when the user is actually moving the camera around. My first thought was to simply use the iPhone's accelerometers / gyroscope, but in testing I found that very often people would move the iPhone at a consistent enough attitude and velocity that there wouldn't be any way to tell that it was still in motion. So that left the option of analyzing the actual video feed and detecting movement in that. I got OpenCV working and tried running their pyramidal Lucas-Kanade optical flow algorithm, which works well but seems to be almost as processor-intensive as my object recognizer - I can get it to an acceptable framerate if I lower the depth levels / downsample the image / track fewer points, but then accuracy suffers and it starts to miss some large movements and trigger on small hand-shaking-y ones. So my question is, is there another optical flow algorithm that's faster than Lucas-Kanade if I just want to detect the overall magnitude of camera movement? I don't need to track individual objects, I don't even need to know which direction the camera is moving, all I really need is a way to feed something two frames of video and have it tell me how far apart they are.

Sadly I’m going to have to turn to something modern as the virtual processor is no longer up to scratch, as I found when trying to install Windows 8.1 evaluation. In the past this would have been a Blue Screen but they’re handled differently in Windows 8, usually with a frowning emoticon. 0x0000005D means UNSUPPORTED_PROCESSOR and the solution would be to enable No-Execute Memory Protection in the BIOS. Virtual PC is ancient so the AMI BIOS has no such setting on any of the menus. Off now to find a virtualisation product I like.
