• Visual Studio Publish using Web Deploy gives SSL Exception?

  Im trying to use Web Deploy with arvixe hosting. I enabled Publishing with the host but I get SSL exception when I hit publish. Is anybody familiar with the following exception: Error 59 Web deployment task failed.(Could not complete the request to remote agent URL 'https://yew.arvixe.com:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=mywebsite.com'.) Could not complete the request to remote agent URL 'https://yew.arvixe.com:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=mywebsite.com'. The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. • Versioning CommonAssemblyInfo.cs and MSBuild

  So I have a CommonAssemblyInfo.cs linked into all the projects in my solution and is dynamically generated by my rake/albacore scripts which is not checked into source control. I also have a CommonAssemblyInfo.cs.local for use when there is no ruby available, mainly to be used by devs. Is it possible to have a msbuild task or something that runs before any of the other project compilation that will copy CommonAssemblyInfo.cs.local to CommonAssemblyInfo.cs before trying to compile my solution? I hate having to have a command you have to just know about and type in order to open and buidl the solution in Visual Studio.

• HBase as a multimap

  Hi guys, I'm doing some large scale text processing work and I'm trying to get started with Hadoop and HBase. One of the things I need to do is build a multimap of some stuff, which I later use to look up things and get all items with a certain key (in a M/R job). Would it be OK to use HBase and insert many rows with the same key and rely on versions/timestamps to achieve a multimap-like setup or is this a bad idea? The multimap is built up in the reduce phase of a Mapreduce task by the way, or at least in the way I've formulated it on paper. Thanks! If more information is needed, I'd be happy to provide it. • How to specify schema location in an xsd file?

  I have an xsd file Foo.xsd. I tried following ways to refer it in a WSDL file but it doesnt work. 1) placed the xsd file in local file system and imported it as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="file:///D:/wsdl/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> 2) Placed the xsd file in web root folder and imported as <xsd:import namespace="http://ws.test.com/" schemaLocation="http://localhost:8080/Xfire/Foo.xsd"></xsd:import> When I run the client I get null for the fields of response object. But this works when I embed the type definition inside the WSDL itself. How do we specify the path to external xsds? I am using xFire 1.2.6 for generating webservices. Client is generated using xFire WSGen ant task.

  Issues reading CSV file using OLEDB when filenamen have period. I have a code in C# that reads CSV File using OleDBProvider. It works perfect with filenames in regular format such as Budget.csv but failed when i renamed the file into Budget.DKK.csv or Budget.USD.csv I throws this exception: he Microsoft Jet database engine could not find the object 'Budget.DKK.csv'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and the path name correctly. I have no idea so far why is this happenning.

• Optimal Activity Stack Order for a Main Menu button?

  I'm developing an app that starts with a main menu, and then continues through three different steps (activities) to a final activity where the task is marked complete. On this last activity, i have several additional options (add note, share, etc..) and i also have a return to main menu button. My question is.. how do i stack the activities so that calling finish() on the final activity will return back to the first activity launched? i am currently just starting the new activity via an intent, so pressing back on this screen doesn't return me to home as i would like.   I have a table bike_to_owner. I would like to select current items owned by a specific user. I wrote this statement: SELECT `bike_id`,`user_id`,max(last_change_date) FROM `bike_to_owner` WHERE `user_id` = 3 group by `last_change_date` but i'm not quite sure it works correctly in all cases. Can you please verify this is correct and if not suggest me something better. Using php/mysql. Thanks in advance!

  I have a table already created. I am looking for a rails migration where I can modify the starting point of the auto_increment number for id column of my table. Let's say I want it to start from 1000. I googled a bit and came across this: it says: :options "string" pass raw options to your underlying database, e.g. auto_increment = 10000. Note that passing options will cause you to lose the default ENGINE=InnoDB statement Can this be used for something I want? and how will the migration look since i am changing the column and not creating new one...

  hello i hope someone put me on the right direction with my problem i want to work on supporting my language, specially the writing on android we use Arabic characters with little modification ( like parsi, urdu etc).. i was hoping android has fully supported Arabic , then i would make changes to work with my language. but even 2.2 dosn't support Arabic . it just show Arabic characters and it is not connected. that is "????? " is displayed "? ? ? ? ?". some individuals have made Arabic support on CyanogenMod ROM's for some HTC phones, but they would not tell how they made it. I'v got the android source code, i want to know where to start, where to make changes , what is the library that handle fonts , shaping engine etc .. ps : android.com and other android related google groups are blocked in my country.

Now I want to loop through first each row, and then each cell, printing out the contents of each cell. • Best approach to send data from a server to an Android device

  I am developing an Android app that needs to communicate bi-directionally with a server. By that, I mean either the server or the device can send a message at any time, with an arbitrary amount of time in between messages. Sending data from the device to the server is a common and I think well understood task, but I'm not as sure what the best approach is to go in the opposite direction from the server to the device. I think having the device periodically poll the server may be a bad idea due to latency and the drain on the battery, but I'd be willing to consider this option. My plan at the moment is to send text messages from the server via an email-to-SMS bridge, and to have my app run a service to receive and handle these messages. The question I have is if there are any best practices for this scenario, and if using text messages has some downsides that I have failed to consider. For the sake of this question, I want to assume that users have an unlimited text data plan, so paying per text won't be an issue.

• Drupal - Use lightbox with Views (Rel attribute) - in output link

  In Drupal I have two image fields, one to act as a thumbnail and the other the image that will open when the thumbnail is clicked. The only way I could find to link the two was to use the option for "Output this field as a link" and link to the image field. This works, so when I click the thumbnail it opens the larger image however I would like to use lightbox2 for this task but in the "Output this field as a link" options there is no way to set the "rel" attribute. Is there a way to either set the rel attribute or invoke the lightbox by setting a class?

  I want to build a scalable dynamic Web Application. I have never programmed an Object Oriented language before. Or, let's just say I am completely new to programming, because the previous experiences aren't worth talking about. I know I have a really big task ahead of me ^^ but I wanted to get into coding for the last 10 years and now that I'm finally doing it, I would like to know how to get there in the most efficient way. Any good books/tutorials you could recommend? Would it really make sense to learn other, better documented languages before learning RoR? Or would it be better for a beginner to learn C# with ASP.NET first? Thank you for your help in advance ;-)

• REGEX to extract word connected to nearest semicolon?

  I'm attempting to extract a series of data values from a text file. The values are in the format: <MODIFIER NAME1 VALUE; MODIFIER NAME2 VALUE;> For the purposes of the current task that I have, I only care about extracting the VALUE that is situated next to each semicolon. What would the REGEX command look like that would isolate each of these VALUES (preferably so that I backreference all values in the replacement part of my processing.) I believe that ^(.*?); is somehow used, but I'm not seeing how to isolate only the word that is attached to the semicolon in a group for backreference use. Thanks!

• Integrating Hudson with MS Test?

  Is it possible to integrate Hudson with MS Test? I am setting up a smaller CI server on my development machine with Hudson right now, just so that I can have some statistics (ie. FxCop and compiler warnings). Of course, it would also be nice if it could just run my unit tests and present their output. Up to now, I have added the following batch task to Hudson, which makes it run the tests properly. "%PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\Common7\IDE\MSTest.exe" /runconfig:LocalTestRun.testrunconfig /testcontainer:Tests\bin\Debug\Tests.dll However, as far as I know, Hudson does not support analysis of MS Test results, yet. Does anyone know whether the TRX files generated by MSTest.exe can be transformed to the JUnit or NUnit result format (because those are supported by Hudson), or whether there is any other way to integrate MS Test unit tests with Hudson?

This function is called whenever JavaScript tries to execute an undefined method of an Object. I would like to set a callback function to an Object that will be called whenever an undefined property in the Object is accessed or assigned to. I haven't found a noSuchProperty function implemented for JavaScript Objects and I am curios if there is any workaround that will achieve the same result. Consider the following code: var a = {}; a.__defineGetter__("bla", function(){alert(1);return 2;}); alert(a.bla); It is equivalent to [alert(1);alert(2)] - even though a.bla is undefined. I would like to achieve the same result but to unknown properties (i.e. without knowing in advance that a."bla" will be the property accessed)

• C# - Thread does not abort on application closing

  Hi, I have an application which does some background task (network listening & reading) in separate Thread. It seems however that the Thread is not being Terminated/Aborted when I close the application (click "x" button on titlebar ;)). Is that because the main Thread routine is while(true) {...} ? What is the solution here? I was looking for some "interruption" flag for the Thread as the condition for "while" loop, but didn't found any ...

• Storage drives is causting system crash

  I'm running Centos 5.4 with 750GB(ntfs) and 2TB drives for storage. Originally I installed the 750, everything seemed fine and then I installed the 2TB drive with NTFS already partitioned. I noticed when I would copy a lot of videos it would crash (no mouse or response from server) about 20min into it. After doing some troubleshooting I noticed the 750 would also crash when doing the same task so I decided that NTFS may be the problem. I unmounted the 2TB drive and tried to partition and format it using ext2 but when using parted it would crash at this point "writing inode tables". Looking at the dmesg logs I believe this is the error "mtrr: type mismatch for e0000000,10000000 old: write-back new: write-combining". Any idea as to what could be causing this?

  In Seam, using log4, I would like to have my info, warn and error always logging the logged in user (if so) name to be logged with whatever the log message is. Being a consistant thing I do not want to have to grab the logged-in user name, and prefix the message. so I attempted to populate the log4j NDC to have it as a field of the log message. Pushing the user name on successful login: NDC.push(credentials.getUsername()); Which works, but the NDC is managed per thread, so once another thread processes a request from the same logged in user, the trace of this user name is lost. I was thinking that there should be a common pattern to accomplish this simple task which is attaching each log message to the logged user, using the NDC or not, to know exactly what user triggered what action. Anyone knows the appropriate way to accomplish this?

• Storing millions of URLs in a database for fast pattern matching

  I am developing a web analytics kind of system which needs to log referring URL, landing page URL and search keywords for every visitor on the website. What I want to do with this collected data is to allow end-user to query the data such as "Show me all visitors who came from Bing.com searching for phrase that contains 'red shoes'" or "Show me all visitors who landed on URL that contained 'campaign=twitter_ad'", etc. Because this system will be used on many big websites, the amount of data that needs to log will grow really, really fast. So, my question: a) what would be the best strategy for logging so that scaling the system doesn't become a pain; b) how to use that architecture for rapid querying of arbitrary requests? Is there a special method of storing URLs so that querying them gets faster? In addition to MySQL database that I use, I am exploring (and open to) other alternatives better suited for this task.

• How to change the icon in the title bar in R?

  I just installed R 2.11.0-x64 onto my Windows 7 Professional machine. With my previous installations of R (2.10.1 32 bit was the most recent) the little icon that appeared in the title bar and in the taskbar at the bottom of windows was the R "R." Now however, the icon almost looks like a small windows Task Manager. I know this isn't a code issue, but it affects me as I flip between windows. Is there a way to put the "R" icon back in there? Would it be an R setting or a Windows setting?

  I'm looking for a way to fix and/or abstract away a comma-separated values (CSV) list in a database field in order to reconstruct a usable relationship such that I can properly join the two tables below and query them using LINQ and its Join method. Following is a sample showing the Person table and CsvArticleIds field having a CSV value to represent a one-to-many association with Article records.   I have a task to validate addresses entered into a system I am currently creating. The system requires that address entered are validated against a valid data source. In the UK the dataset comes from the Royal Mail and is expensive to access. The data needed is post code info for the whold of europe to start with accessed by an API into the web application. There are a number of companies that offer this service, QAS Capscan Postcode anywhere These all offer the service I require. However this is expensive and in some cases not a complete data set. e.g. not Ireland I was also wondering if there would be a way to utalis the google maps API to validate this data via postal code and country. Would the google maps method be possible or do I have to go down the line of one of these expensive companies? Any thoughts on what line I should take.
