    In multi-player network games, what techniques exist to try to ensure that users are connecting with the official client application, and not some hacked client app? I realise there is probably no sure-fire way to do this, but rather I'm interested in techniques that can be employed to mitigate the problem. Do not run this command to "test" it unless you are prepared for a crash and/or force-rebooting your system I was in my Virtualbox running 12.04 trying to compile an app, and while waiting I happened to chance upon a forum where a comment said: Try :(){ :|: & };: Fun, too, and doesn't need root. Without thinking I ran it in my gnome-terminal it made my 12.04 virtualbox lag so badly I had to shut it down. My question is what does this command do? :(){ :|: & };:

    I've tried several times to install radio tray on my fresh ubuntu 11.10 installation but when I run ~$ sudo apt-get install radiotraythe following dialog pops up at the end of the script: Media change: please insert the disc labeled 'Ubuntu 11.10 _Oneiric Ocelot_ - Release i386 (20111012)' in the drive '/cdrom/' and press enter I've performed previous installations of this app on another computer using the same repository and all went smooth. My Ubuntu Oneiric version was installed from a USB flash drive, so don't understand that request from apt-get.

  • Can't boot from usb after a few successful boots

    I have ubuntu 11.10 on my usb flash maxell (4 gb) i installed it with universal usb installer and in the beginning everything worked just fine. I installed a few apps (skype, audations, vlc, codecs and a web camera app) it continued to works. but since yesterday it doesn't boot it shows me the operating system loading screen (ubuntu with the dots turning orange and white) and nothing more... please if anyone can help?

  • Move old website with bad SEO to other domain: redirect or start from scratch?

    I have an old website with very bad SEO and PR, but still with some visitors per-day. Lately I've rebuilt the app and the concept of it and I'm going to deploy everything in a new domain. I would like to not lose those old visitors but I'm wondering if redirecting that old website to my new one is going to damage the SEO in the new website. Don't know also if it deserves to make the move in the Google Webmaster Tools and Bing or better start from scratch.

    I am trying to use SUN Spots with Ubuntu, but for some reason the SUN Spot Manager app is not seeing connected spot on USB port. Possibility that cdc_acm driver is not installed has been mentioned elsewhere, but I am complete beginner when it comes to Ubuntu, so I don't know where to find it or how to install it. Any input on this matter would be more than welcome. Addition: ls /dev/tty* returned the list that contains /dev/ttyACM0, but SUN spot is still not recognizing it.
