• Android save Checkbox State in ListView with Cursor Adapter

  I cant find a way to save the checkbox state when using a Cursor adapter. Everything else works fine but if i click on a checkbox it is repeated when it is recycled. Ive seen examples using array adapters but because of my lack of experience im finding it hard to translate it into using a cursor adapter. Could someone give me an example of how to go about it. • Android custom ListView unable to click on items

  So I have a custom ListView object. The list items have two textviews stacked on top of each other, plus a horizontal progress bar that I want to remain hidden until I actually do something. To the far right is a checkbox that I only want to display when the user needs to download updates to their database(s). When I disable the checkbox by setting the visibility to Visibility.GONE, I am able to click on the list items. When the checkbox is visible, I am unable to click on anything in the list except the checkboxes. I've done some searching but haven't found anything relevant to my current situation. I found this question but I'm using an overridden ArrayAdapter since I'm using ArrayLists to contain the list of databases internally. Do I just need to get the LinearLayout view and add an onClickListener like Tom did? I'm not sure. I am using the standalone command-line profiler as VS2008 Professional does not come with an inbuilt profiler. • Visual Studio compiles WPF application twice during build

  I have a WPF app in VS2008 that compiles twice during the build. The two CSC command lines are similar but with some differences. The first CSC command line does not have an /resource options, the second has two /resource options on the command line. The second CSC command line has these additional arguments: /resource:"obj\Debug AutoCAD\VisualApp.g.resources" /resource:"obj\Debug AutoCAD\CAP.Visual.Properties.Resources.resources" I hate to post • Mercurial hg clone on Windows via ssh with copSSH issue

  I have a Windows Server 2008 machine (iis7) that has CopSSH set up on it. To connect to it, I have a Windows 7 machine with Mercurial 1.5.1 (and TortoiseHg) installed. I can connect to the server using PuTTY with a non-standard ssh port and a .ppk file just fine. So I know the server can be SSH'd into. Next, I wanted to use the CLI to connect via hg clone to get a private repo. I've seen elsewhere that you need to have ssh configured in your mercurial.ini file, so my mercurial.ini has a line: ssh = plink.exe -ssh -C -l username -P #### -i "C:/Program Files/PuTTY/Key Files/KyleKey.ppk" Note: username is filled in with the username I set up via copSSH. #### is filled in with the non-standard ssh port I've defined for copSSH. I try to do the command hg clone ssh://inthom.com but I get this error: remote: bash: inthom.com: command not found abort: no suitable response from remote hg! It looks like hg or plink parses the hostname such that it thinks that inthom.com is a command instead of the server to ssh to. That's really odd. Next, I tried to just use plink to connect by plink -P #### ssh://inthom.com, and I am then prompted for my username, and next password. I enter them both and then I get this error: bash: ssh://inthom.com: No such file or directory So now it looks like plink doesn't parse the hostname correctly. I fiddled around for a while trying to figure out how to do call hg clone with an empty ssh:// field and eventually figured out that this command allows me to reach the server and clone a test repo on the inthom.com server: hg clone ssh://!/Repos/test ! is the character I've found that let's me leave the hostname blank, but specify the repo folder to clone. What I really don't understand is how plink knows what server to ssh to at all. neither my mercurial.ini nor the command specify a server. None of the hg clone examples I've seen have a ! character. They all use an address, which makes sense, so you can connect to any repo via ssh that you want to clone. My only guess is that it somehow defaults to the last server I used PuTTY to SSH to, but I SSH'd into another server, and then tried to use plink to get to it, but plink still defaults to inthom.com (verified with the -v arg to plink). So I am at a loss as to how plink gets this server value at all. For "fun", I tried using TortoiseHg and can only clone a repo when I use ssh://!/Repos/test as the Source. Now, you can see that, since plink doesn't parse the hostname correctly, I had to specify the port number and username in the mercurial.ini file, instead of in the hostname like [email protected]:#### like you'd expect to. Trying to figure this out at first drove me insane, because I would get errors that the host couldn't be reached, which I knew shouldn't be the case. My question is how can I configure my setup so that ssh://[email protected]:####/Repos/test is parsed correctly as the username, hostname, port number, and repo to copy? Is it something wrong with the version of plink that I'm using, or is there some setting I may have messed up? If it is plink's fault, is there an alternative tool I can use? I'm going to try to get my friend set up to connect to this same repo, so I'd like to have a clean solution instead of this ! business. Especially when I have no idea how plink gets this default server, so I'm not sure if he'd even be able to get to inthom.com correctly. PS. I've had to use a ton of different tutorials to even get to this stage. Therefore, I haven't tried pushing any changes to the server yet. Hopefully I'll get this figured out and then I can try pushing changes to the repo.

I have set the server and the client on the same machine (for now), win7-x64. • Single DispatcherServlet with Multiple Controllers

  I am trying to create some restful web services using Spring MVC 3.0. I currently have an issue that only 1 of my 2 controllers will work at any given time. As it turns out, whichever class comes first when sorted alphabetically will work properly. The error I get is: handleNoSuchRequestHandlingMethod No matching handler method found for servlet request: path '/polinq.xml', method 'GET', parameters map[[empty]] I had a very simliar message earlier also, except instead of the map being empty it was something like map[v--String(array)] Regardless of the message though, currently the LocationCovgController works and the PolicyInquiryController doesn't. If I change the change of the PolicyInquiryController to APolicyInquiryController, then it will start funcitoning properly and the LocationCovgController will stop working. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. • Mercurial "hg clone" on Windows via ssh with plink issue

  I have a Windows Server 2008 machine (iis7) that has CopSSH set up on it. To connect to it, I have a Windows 7 machine with Mercurial 1.5.1 (and TortoiseHg) installed. I can connect to the server using PuTTY with a non-standard ssh port and a .ppk file just fine. So I know the server can be SSH'd into. Next, I wanted to use the CLI to connect via hg clone to get a private repo. I've seen elsewhere that you need to have ssh configured in your mercurial.ini file, so my mercurial.ini has a line: ssh = plink.exe -ssh -C -l username -P #### -i "C:/Program Files/PuTTY/Key Files/KyleKey.ppk" Note: username is filled in with the username I set up via copSSH. #### is filled in with the non-standard ssh port I've defined for copSSH. I try to do the command hg clone ssh://inthom.com but I get this error: remote: bash: inthom.com: command not found abort: no suitable response from remote hg! It looks like hg or plink parses the hostname such that it thinks that inthom.com is a command instead of the server to ssh to. That's really odd. Next, I tried to just use plink to connect by plink -P #### ssh://inthom.com, and I am then prompted for my username, and next password. I enter them both and then I get this error: bash: ssh://inthom.com: No such file or directory So now it looks like plink doesn't parse the hostname correctly. I fiddled around for a while trying to figure out how to do call hg clone with an empty ssh:// field and eventually figured out that this command allows me to reach the server and clone a test repo on the inthom.com server: hg clone ssh://!/Repos/test ! is the character I've found that let's me leave the hostname blank, but specify the repo folder to clone. What I really don't understand is how plink knows what server to ssh to at all. neither my mercurial.ini nor the command specify a server. None of the hg clone examples I've seen have a ! character. They all use an address, which makes sense, so you can connect to any repo via ssh that you want to clone. My only guess is that it somehow defaults to the last server I used PuTTY to SSH to, but I SSH'd into another server, and then tried to use plink to get to it, but plink still defaults to inthom.com (verified with the -v arg to plink). So I am at a loss as to how plink gets this server value at all. For "fun", I tried using TortoiseHg and can only clone a repo when I use ssh://!/Repos/test as the Source. Now, you can see that, since plink doesn't parse the hostname correctly, I had to specify the port number and username in the mercurial.ini file, instead of in the hostname like [email protected]:#### like you'd expect to. Trying to figure this out at first drove me insane, because I would get errors that the host couldn't be reached, which I knew shouldn't be the case. My question is how can I configure my setup so that ssh://[email protected]:####/Repos/test is parsed correctly as the username, hostname, port number, and repo to copy? Is it something wrong with the version of plink that I'm using, or is there some setting I may have messed up? If it is plink's fault, is there an alternative tool I can use? I'm going to try to get my friend set up to connect to this same repo, so I'd like to have a clean solution instead of this ! business. Especially when I have no idea how plink gets this default server, so I'm not sure if he'd even be able to get to inthom.com correctly. PS. I've had to use a ton of different tutorials to even get to this stage. Therefore, I haven't tried pushing any changes to the server yet. Hopefully I'll get this figured out and then I can try pushing changes to the repo.

• Does anyone know how to appropriately deal with user timezones in rails 2.3?

  We're building a rails app that needs to display dates (and more importantly, calculate them) in multiple timezones. Can anyone point me towards how to work with user timezones in rails 2.3(.5 or .8) The most inclusive article I've seen detailing how user time zones are supposed to work is here: http://wiki.rubyonrails.org/howtos/time-zones... although it is unclear when this was written or for what version of rails. Specifically it states that: "Time.zone - The time zone that is actually used for display purposes. This may be set manually to override config.time_zone on a per-request basis." Keys terms being "display purposes" and "per-request basis". Locally on my machine, this is true. However on production, neither are true. Setting Time.zone persists past the end of the request (to all subsequent requests) and also affects the way AR saves to the DB (basically treating any date as if it were already in UTC even when its not), thus saving completely inappropriate values. We run Ruby Enterprise Edition on production with passenger. If this is my problem, do we need to switch to JRuby or something else?   I've launched a website a while back and successfully used Javascript + CSS to highlight the current page on the navigation. However, it is not working in Safari and it does not validate well, when using Javascript, so I decided to have PHP assign the CSS id to the HTML elements. So far, it works fine, compared to the other times where there was two of each link displayed, when it was attempted in PHP. My problem is that all links look normal and the CSS property is not applied. I have a feeling that it has to do with my PHP code, but I'm not certain.   I have a script, testforeground.php, that kicks off a background script, testbackground.php, then returns while the background script continues to run until it's finished. Both the foreground and background scripts write to the output file correctly when I run the foreground script from the command line using php-cgi: C:\>php-cgi testforeground.php The above command starts a php-cgi.exe process, then a php-win.exe process, then closes the php-cgi.exe almost immediately, while the php-win.exe continues until it's finished. • JPA IndirectSet changes not reflected in Spring frontend

  I'm having an issue with Spring JPA and IndirectSets. I have two entities, Parent and Child, defined below. I have a Spring form in which I'm trying to create a new Child and link it to an existing Parent, then have everything reflected in the database and in the web interface. What's happening is that it gets put into the database, but the UI doesn't seem to agree. Now, the problem is that when I edit those simple properties from my Spring interface, everything works beautifully. I can persist new entities of these types and they'll appear when using the JPATemplate to do a find on, say, all Parents (getJpaTemplate().find("select p from Parent p")) or on individual entities by ID or another property. The problem I'm running into is that now, I'm trying to create a new Child linked to an existing Parent through a link from the Parent's page. When it gets back to the controller, it goes through and saves it to the underlying database, but the interface never reflects it. Once I restart the app, it's all there and populated appropriately. What can I do to clear this up? I've tried to call extra merges, tried refreshes (which gave a transaction exception), everything short of just writing my own database access code. I've made sure that every class has an appropriate equals() and hashCode(), have full JPA debugging on to see that it's making appropriate SQL calls (it doesn't seem to make any new calls to the Child table) and stepped through in the debugger (it's all in IndirectSets, as expected, and between saving and displaying the Parent the object takes on a new memory address). What's my next step?

• Can't seem to redirect from a ViewScoped constructor.

  I'm having trouble redirecting from a view scoped bean in the case that we don't have the required info for the page in question. The log entry in the @PostContruct is visible in the log right before a NPE relating to the view trying to render itself instead of following my redirect. Why is it ignoring the redirect?
