I wanted to filter the rows to get only the minimum number in the second column. This fixed it: SELECT id, min((tbl2.date_modified - tbl1.date_submitted)/86400), max(some_value) FROM tbl1, tbl2, tbl3 WHERE tbl1.id = tbl2.fid AND tbl1.id = tbl3.fid GROUP BY tbl1.id so I got: 275 72.87368055555555555555555555555555555556 foo 70 113 77.06431712962962962962962962962962962963 foo 80 How can I change it to do the same but not include rows where the are other rows with some_value=90 ?   I have a table with a list of transactions (invoices and credits) and I need to get a list of all the rows where the invoices and credits don't match up. eg user product value bill ThingA 200 jim ThingA -200 sue ThingB 100 liz ThingC 50 I only want to see the third and fourth rows, as the values of the others match off. I can do this if I select product, sum(value) ... group by product having sum(value) < 0 which works well, but I want to return the user name as well. As soon as I add the user to the select, I need to group by it as well, which messes it up as the amounts don't match up by user AND product. Any ideas ? I am using MS SQL 2000... Cheers

  How can I order the results from "group ... by... into..." statement in linq? For instance: var queryResult = from records in container.tableWhatever where records.Time >= DateTime.Today group records by tableWhatever.tableHeader.UserId into userRecords select new { UserID = userRecords.Key, Records = userRecords }; The query returns records in table "contain.tableWhatever" grouped by "UserId". I want the returned results within each group ordered by time decending. How can I do that?   I have a situation where I have 3 tables: StockItem, Office and StockItemPrice. The price for each StockItem can be different for each Office. StockItem( ID Name ) Office( ID Name ) StockItemPrice( ID StockItemID OfficeID Price ) I've set up a schema with 2 many-to-one relations to link StockItem and Office. So in my StockItem domain object I have a property: IList<StockItemPrice> Prices; which gets loaded with the price of the item for each office. That's working fine. Now I'm trying to get the price of an item for a single office. I have the following Criteria query: NHibernateSession.CreateCriteria(persistentType) .Add(Restrictions.Eq("ID", id)) .CreateAlias("Prices", "StockItemPrice") .Add(Restrictions.Eq("StockItemPrice.Office", office)) .UniqueResult<StockItem>(); This appears to work fine as the SQL it generates is what I qould expect. However, I dont know if it populates StockItem.Prices with a single object correctly as as soon as I reference that property NHibernate performs a lazy load of all the office's prices. Also, even if it does work, it feels really crufty having to access the price by using: mystockitem.Prices[0].Price What I would really like is to have a Price field on the StockItem object and have the price of the item put into that field by NHibernate. I've tried adding .CreateCriteria("Price", "StockItemPrice.Price") and the same with CreateAlias, but I get the error NHibernate.QueryException : could not resolve property: Price of: StockItem which makes sense I guess as Price isn't a mapped property. How would I adjust the query to make this possible?

  I am trying to do the following: <?php foreach($sqlResult as $row): ?> <tr> <?php foreach($formdata['columns'] as $column): ?> <td><?php echo $row->$column['name']; ?></td> <?php endforeach; ?> </tr> <?php endforeach; ?> This does not work. $row is returned by my mysql query, it has the following : row-id, row-author, row-name and these work as they echo fine. $columns is the following array: 'columns' => array ( 1 => array ( 'name' => 'id' ), 2 => array ( 'name' => 'author' ), 3 => array ( 'name' => 'date' ), 4 => array ( 'name' => 'title' ) it also works fine as $column['name'] echoes id, author, date, title my question is how would it be possible for me to access the $row-method (is it a method?) by passing it a name from the array??

  imagecopyresized ( resource $dst_image , resource $src_image , int $dst_x , int $dst_y , int $src_x , int $src_y , int $dst_w , int $dst_h , int $src_w , int $src_h ) This is what I want to do: I have an image that's 600x1000px in size, and I want to create a thumb that's 100x100px after resizing that image to 300x500px, the x coordinate for the top left point of the thumb square should be at 100(src x) and 120(src y). According to what I understand from the manual, the command should be $dst_image = imagecreatetruecolor(100,100); $src_image = imagecreatefromjpeg('/home/sandbox/imagetoresize.jpg'); imagecopyresized ($dst_image, $src_image, 0, 0, 100, 120, **300 , 500 , 600 , 1000** ) It is cropping the image just fine, but it isn't resizing it correctly. I never got it to match what I see in my image editor (the GIMP). What am I doing wrong? I confirmed that all the numbers are correct, but it's always shifted up or down no matter what I do. Your help would really be appreciated!

• UserControl/TreeView Problem....Not getting result during runtime..

  Hi all, My problem is, I'm using a TreeView in a UserControl. While debugging, I can see the results are adding in the TreeView but it's not happening when I'm using that UserControl onto my MainForm. The UserControl containing the TreeView remains blank during runtime of the main application. I've also referenced the UserControl project with my Main project. • Caching result of setUp() using Python unittest

  I currently have a unittest.TestCase that looks like.. class test_appletrailer(unittest.TestCase): def setup(self): self.all_trailers = Trailers(res = "720", verbose = True) def test_has_trailers(self): self.failUnless(len(self.all_trailers) > 1) # ..more tests.. This works fine, but the Trailers() call takes about 2 seconds to run.. Given that setUp() is called before each test is run, the tests now take almost 10 seconds to run (with only 3 test functions) What is the correct way of caching the self.all_trailers variable between tests? Removing the setUp function, and doing.. class test_appletrailer(unittest.TestCase): all_trailers = Trailers(res = "720", verbose = True) ..works, but then it claims "Ran 3 tests in 0.000s" which is incorrect.. The only other way I could think of is to have a cache_trailers global variable (which works correctly, but is rather horrible): cache_trailers = None class test_appletrailer(unittest.TestCase): def setUp(self): global cache_trailers if cache_trailers is None: cache_trailers = self.all_trailers = all_trailers = Trailers(res = "720", verbose = True) else: self.all_trailers = cache_trailers

  In using the m4_ax_python_module.m4 macro in configure.ac (AX_PYTHON_MODULE), one can know at configure time if a given module is installed. It takes two arguments, the module name, and second argument which if not empty, will lead to an exit, useful when the module is a must-have. In the case where you don't want a fatal exit, how do you test in configure.ac which modules were found or not? They output "yes" or "no" when configure is run, but that's all I've found so far. Basically If I have these lines in configure.ac: AX_PYTHON_MODULE(json,[]) AX_PYTHON_MODULE(simplejson,[]) How do I test which of the two modules were found? I have this query SELECT type_id, type_name FROM room_type WHERE id NOT IN (SELECT room_type FROM reservation WHERE start_date >= '$start_date' AND end_date <= '$end_date') What the query does is it selects the rooms that are not booked between the start date and end date. Also, as you can see from the reservation table, we also have 'number of rooms booked between the two dates' factor also... I need to add this 'no.of booked rooms between the two dates' factor also in to the query... The query should return the type of rooms for which at least one room is free between the two dates. I worked out the logic but just can't represent it as a query....! How will you do this...? Thanks for your suggestions..!

• Running code/script as a result of a form submission in ASP.NET

  An outside vendor did some html work for us, and I'm filling in the actual functionality. I have an issue that I need help with. He created a simple html page that is opened as a modal pop-up. It contains a form with a few input fields and a submit button. On submitting, an email should be sent using info from the input fields. I turned his simple html page into a simple aspx page, added runat=server to the form, and added the c# code inside script tags to create and send the email. It technically works but has a big issue. After the information is submitted and the email is sent, the page (which is supposed to just be a modal pop-up type thing) gets reloaded, but it is now no longer a pop-up. It's reloaded as a standalone page. So I'm trying to find out if there is a way to get the form to just execute those few lines of c# code on submission without reloading the form. I'm somewhat aware of cgi scripts, but from what I've read, that can be buggy with IIS and all. Plus I'd like to think I could get these few lines of code to run without creating a separate executable. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  I have a business layer that has DTOs that are used in the presentation layer. This application uses entity framework. Here is an example of a class called RoleDTO: public class RoleDTO { public Guid RoleId { get; set; } public string RoleName { get; set; } public string RoleDescription { get; set; } public int? OrganizationId { get; set; } } In the BLL I want to have a method that returns a list of DTO. I would like to know which is the better approach: returning IQueryable or list of DTOs. Although I feel that returning IQueryable is not a good idea because the connection needs to be open. • Adding tables to sql server result in Domain\user.name.tablename

  Our app uses migratordotnet to modify the backing SQL Server 2005 database. This works great 99% of the time but we are running into an issue. We have a client that is using and Active Directory group for sql server login and when new tables are added it creates them as Domain\login.table_name. What permissions are needed to be given to the AD group to add the tables as dbo.table_name? This does not happen in with all of our clients with similar configurations so I must be missing something.
