  • Breeze Expand not working on WebAPI with EF

    - by Rodney
    I have published a WebAPI service which returns a list of items. I am implementing Breeze and have managed to get it basically working with filtering/sorting. However, the Expand is not working. http://www.ftter.com/desktopmodules/framework/api/dare/dares/?$filter=DareId%20eq%2010&expand%20eq%20ToUser You can see the ToUserId ForeignKey in the response above, but the ToUser properties are NULL (the user definitely exists) You can see the ToUser EF navigation property in the metadata. When I use .Include on the server side I can populate it with EF, but I don't want to do this. [HttpGet] [Queryable(AllowedQueryOptions = AllowedQueryOptions.All)] public HttpResponseMessage Dares() { var response = Request.CreateResponse(HttpStatusCode.OK, (IQueryable<Dare>)contextProvider.Context.Dares); return ControllerUtilities.GetResponseWithCorsHeader(response); } and here is the generated class from my EF model (using Database First) public partial class Dare { public int DareId { get; set; } public int ToUserId { get; set; } public virtual User ToUser { get; set; } }

  • Why is my program printing out the null termination character?

    - by Tyler Pfaff
    When I run this, it will SOMETIMES print out a null termination character. Most of the time it will, and probably 1/5 times it will print just the characters. void cryptogram::Encrypt(){ cout<<"encrypt"<tempS){ len=tempS.length(); int a=0; for(int j=0;j if(j!=len){ //if the word still has more characters j++; a=0; }else{ //if the word is done being scanned cout<<" "; } } } } } } } So that's it and this is the corresponding EXPECTED output that is printed SOMETIMES xvk bkikhxlr wggbtfkj wiylekgbdhx wjjm hko wigbtubxt xvk iwhj uedjkm glctb gvrmdiwhj iebbdielmeggtbx ctb xvtmk gbtubxvk wjjdxdthgbtubodll khvxvk imkbfdik xt xvk bkudth whj gbtfdjk hko tgxdthm whj tggtbxehdxdkm ctb mxejkhxmibdzdhtltur whj pemxdik mxejdkm mxdh cok wbk wlmt gbkgctb cteb hko zdh cgvrmdikjeiwhj qdhkmdtlturzzkjdydtivkzdmxbrw zdh zdjjlkkjeiwhj w jtixtbdh kjeiwjzdhdmxbittgkbodxv mjme whj eimj This is what normally prints though xvkÈ bkikhxlrÈ wggbtfkjÈ wiylekgbdhxÈ wjjmÈ hkoÈ wigbtubxtÈ xvkÈ iwhjÈ uedjkmÈ glctbÈ gvrmdiwhjÈ iebbdielmeggtbxÈ ctbÈ xvtmkÈ gbtubxvkÈ wjjdxdthgbtubodllÈ khvxvkÈ imkbfdikÈ xtÈ xvkÈ bkudthÈ whjÈ gbtfdjkÈ hkoÈ tgxdthmÈ whjÈ tggtbxehdxdkmÈ ctbÈ mxejkhxmibdzdhtlturÈ whjÈ pemxdikÈ mxejdkmÈ mxdhÈ cokÈ wbkÈ wlmtÈ gbkgctbÈ ctebÈ hkoÈ zdhÈ cgvrmdikjeiwhjÈ qdhkmdtlturzzkjdydtivkzdmxbrwÈ zdhÈ zdjjlkkjeiwhjÈ wÈ jtixtbdhÈ kjeiwjzdhdmxbittgkbodxvÈ mjmeÈ whjÈ eimj or some variation of an odd character at the end of each word This is what the cryptogram array is filled with by the way wyijkcuvdpqlzhtgabmxefonrs

  • Boost Unit testing memory reuse causing tests that should fail to pass

    - by Knyphe
    We have started using the boost unit testing library for a large existing code base, and I have run into some trouble with unit tests incorrectly passing, seemingly due to the reuse of memory on the stack. Here is my situation: BOOST_AUTO_TEST_CASE(test_select_base_instantiation_default) { SelectBase selectBase(); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getSelectType(), false); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getTypeName(_T("")); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getEntityType(), -1); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getDataPos(), -1); } BOOST_AUTO_TEST_CASE(test_select_base_instantiation_default) { SelectBase selectBase(true, _T("abc")); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getSelectType(), false); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getTypeName(_T("abc")); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getEntityType(), -1); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getDataPos(), -1); } The first test passed correctly, initializing all the variables. The constructor in the second unit test did not correctly set EntityType or DataPosition, but the unit test passed. I was able to get it to fail by placing some variables on the stack in the second test, like so: BOOST_AUTO_TEST_CASE(test_select_base_instantiation_default) { int a, b; SelectBase selectBase(true, _T("abc")); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getSelectType(), false); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getTypeName(_T("abc")); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getEntityType(), -1); BOOST_CHECK_EQUAL( selectBase.getDataPos(), -1); } If there is only one int, only the dataPos CHECK_EQUAL fails, but if there are two, both EntityType and DataPos fail, so it seems pretty clear that this is an issue with the variables being created on the same stack memory or some such. Is there a good way to clear the memory between each unit test, or am I potentially using the library incorrectly or writing bad tests? Any help would be appreciated.

  • Retrieve XML from URL

    - by Pl4za
    I am having some problems retrieving a xml from url with the following code: private static String getAlbumArt(String artistName, String albumName){ try{ XMLParser xml_parser = new XMLParser(); String xml = xml_parser.getXmlFromUrl(getAlbumURL(artistName, albumName)); Document doc = xml_parser.getDomElement(xml); NodeList N = doc.getElementsByTagName("album"); Node node = N.item(0); NodeList N2 = node.getChildNodes(); System.out.println("1------"); for (int i = 0; i < N2.getLength(); i++) { Node detailNode = N2.item(i); if (detailNode.getNodeType() == Node.ELEMENT_NODE) { System.out.println("2------"); if (detailNode.getNodeName().equalsIgnoreCase("image")) { String sizeVal = ((Element) detailNode).getAttribute("size"); String url = detailNode.getTextContent(); if (sizeVal.equalsIgnoreCase("large")) { return url; } } } } } catch (Exception e){ } return null; } The xml function which i call in the above code: public String getXmlFromUrl(String url) { String xml = null; try { DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost(url); HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity(); xml = EntityUtils.toString(httpEntity); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return xml; } getAlbumURL: public static String getAlbumURL(String artist, String album){ return URL_METHOD + METHOD_GETALBUM + AMPERSAND + API_KEY + AMPERSAND + PARAM_ARTIST + artist + AMPERSAND + PARAM_ALBUM + album; } XMLparser: public class XMLParser { // constructor public XMLParser() { } //Get XML from URL public String getXmlFromUrl(String url) { String xml = null; try { DefaultHttpClient httpClient = new DefaultHttpClient(); HttpPost httpPost = new HttpPost(url); HttpResponse httpResponse = httpClient.execute(httpPost); HttpEntity httpEntity = httpResponse.getEntity(); xml = EntityUtils.toString(httpEntity); } catch (UnsupportedEncodingException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (ClientProtocolException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return xml; } //Get dom element public Document getDomElement(String xml){ Document doc = null; DocumentBuilderFactory dbf = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance(); try { DocumentBuilder db = dbf.newDocumentBuilder(); InputSource is = new InputSource(); is.setCharacterStream(new StringReader(xml)); doc = db.parse(is); } catch (ParserConfigurationException e) { Log.e("Error: ", e.getMessage()); return null; } catch (SAXException e) { Log.e("Error: ", e.getMessage()); return null; } catch (IOException e) { Log.e("Error: ", e.getMessage()); return null; } return doc; } //Get nod element public final String getElementValue(Node elem ) { Node child; if( elem != null){ if (elem.hasChildNodes()){ for( child = elem.getFirstChild(); child != null; child = child.getNextSibling() ){ if( child.getNodeType() == Node.TEXT_NODE ){ return child.getNodeValue(); } } } } return ""; } //Get element value public String getValue(Element item, String str) { NodeList nlList = item.getElementsByTagName(str).item(0).getChildNodes(); Node nValue = (Node) nlList.item(0); return nValue.getNodeValue(); } } Any ideas ?   • How to fix IllegalStateException error when trying to update a listview?

    - by Michael Vetrano
    Hi guys, I am trying to get this code to run, but I get an IllegalStateException when I run this code saying that the content of the listview wasn't notified, yet I have a notification upon updating the data. This is a custom listview adapter. Here is the relevant part of my code: class LoadingThread extends Thread { public void run() { int itemsOriginallyLoaded = 0; synchronized( items ) { itemsOriginallyLoaded = items.size(); } for( int i = itemsOriginallyLoaded ; i < itemsToLoad ; ++i ) { Log.d( LOG_TAG, "Loading item #"+i ); //String item = "FAIL"; //try { String item = "FAIL"; try { item = stockGrabber.getStockString(dataSource.get(i)); } catch (ApiException e) { Log.e(LOG_TAG, "Problem making API request", e); } catch (ParseException e) { Log.e(LOG_TAG, "Problem parsing API request", e); } //} catch (ApiException e) { // Log.e(TAG, "Problem making API request", e); //} catch (ParseException e) { // Log.e(TAG, "Problem parsing API request", e); //} synchronized( items ) { items.add( item ); } itemsLoaded = i+1; uiHandler.post( updateTask ); Log.d( LOG_TAG, "Published item #"+i ); } if( itemsLoaded >= ( dataSource.size() - 1 ) ) allItemsLoaded = true; synchronized( loading ) { loading = Boolean.FALSE; } } } class UIUpdateTask implements Runnable { public void run() { Log.d( LOG_TAG, "Publishing progress" ); notifyDataSetChanged(); } }

  • How to replace characters in a java String?

    - by ManBugra
    I like to replace a certain set of characters of a string with a corresponding replacement character in an efficent way. For example: String sourceCharacters = "šdccŠÐCCžŽ"; String targetCharacters = "sdccSDCCzZ"; String result = replaceChars("Gracišce", sourceCharacters , targetCharacters ); Assert.equals(result,"Gracisce") == true; Is there are more efficient way than to use the replaceAll method of the String class? My first idea was: final String s = "Gracišce"; String sourceCharacters = "šdccŠÐCCžŽ"; String targetCharacters = "sdccSDCCzZ"; // preparation final char[] sourceString = s.toCharArray(); final char result[] = new char[sourceString.length]; final char[] targetCharactersArray = targetCharacters.toCharArray(); // main work for(int i=0,l=sourceString.length;i<l;++i) { final int pos = sourceCharacters.indexOf(sourceString[i]); result[i] = pos!=-1 ? targetCharactersArray[pos] : sourceString[i]; } // result String resultString = new String(result); Any ideas? Btw, the UTF-8 characters are causing the trouble, with US_ASCII it works fine.

  • correct format for function prototype

    - by yCalleecharan
    Hi, I'm writing to a text file using the following declaration: void create_out_file(char file_name[],long double *z1){ FILE *out; int i; if((out = fopen(file_name, "w+")) == NULL){ fprintf(stderr, "***> Open error on output file %s", file_name); exit(-1); } for(i = 0; i < ARRAY_SIZE; i++) fprintf(out, "%.16Le\n", z1[i]); fclose(out); } Where z1 is an long double array of length ARRAY_SIZE. The calling function is: create_out_file("E:/first67/jz1.txt", z1); I defined the prototype as: void create_out_file(char file_name[], long double z1[]); which I'm putting before "int main" but after the preprocessor directives. My code works fine. I was thinking of putting the prototype as void create_out_file(char file_name[],long double *z1). Is this correct? *z1 will point to the first array element of z1. Is my declaration and prototype good programming practice? Thanks a lot...

  • Mysql select - improve performance

    - by realshadow
    Hey, I am working on an e-shop which sells products only via loans. I display 10 products per page in any category, each product has 3 different price tags - 3 different loan types. Everything went pretty well during testing time, query execution time was perfect, but today when transfered the changes to the production server, the site "collapsed" in about 2 minutes. The query that is used to select loan types sometimes hangs for ~10 seconds and it happens frequently and thus it cant keep up and its hella slow. The table that is used to store the data has approximately 2 milion records and each select looks like this: SELECT * FROM products_loans WHERE KOD IN("X17/Q30-10", "X17/12", "X17/5-24") AND 369.27 BETWEEN CENA_OD AND CENA_DO; 3 loan types and the price that needs to be in range between CENA_OD and CENA_DO, thus 3 rows are returned. But since I need to display 10 products per page, I need to run it trough a modified select using OR, since I didnt find any other solution to this. I have asked about it here, but got no answer. As mentioned in the referencing post, this has to be done separately since there is no column that could be used in a join (except of course price and code, but that ended very, very badly). Here is the show create table, kod and CENA_OD/CENA_DO very indexed via INDEX. CREATE TABLE `products_loans` ( `KOEF_ID` bigint(20) NOT NULL, `KOD` varchar(30) NOT NULL, `AKONTACIA` int(11) NOT NULL, `POCET_SPLATOK` int(11) NOT NULL, `koeficient` decimal(10,2) NOT NULL default '0.00', `CENA_OD` decimal(10,2) default NULL, `CENA_DO` decimal(10,2) default NULL, `PREDAJNA_CENA` decimal(10,2) default NULL, `AKONTACIA_SUMA` decimal(10,2) default NULL, `TYP_VYHODY` varchar(4) default NULL, `stage` smallint(6) NOT NULL default '1', PRIMARY KEY (`KOEF_ID`), KEY `CENA_OD` (`CENA_OD`), KEY `CENA_DO` (`CENA_DO`), KEY `KOD` (`KOD`), KEY `stage` (`stage`) ) ENGINE=InnoDB DEFAULT CHARSET=utf8 And also selecting all loan types and later filtering them trough php doesnt work good, since each type has over 50k records and the select takes too much time as well... Any ides about improving the speed are appreciated.

  • Retrieve only the superclass from a class hierarchy

    - by user1792724
    I have an scenario as the following: @Entity @Table(name = "ANIMAL") @Inheritance(strategy = InheritanceType.JOINED) public class Animal implements Serializable { @Id @GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.SEQUENCE, generator = "S_ANIMAL") @SequenceGenerator(name = "S_ANIMAL", sequenceName = "S_ANIMAL", allocationSize = 1) public int getNumero() { return numero; } public void setNumero(int numero) { this.numero = numero; } . . . } and as the subclass: @Entity @Table(name = "DOG") public class Dog extends Animal { private static final long serialVersionUID = -7341592543130659641L; . . . } I have a JPA Select statement like this: SELECT a FROM Animal a; I'm using Hibernate 3.3.1 As I can see the framework retrieves instances of Animal and also of Dog using a left outer join. Is there a way to Select only the "part" Animal? I mean, the previous Select will get all the Animals, those that are only Animals but not Dogs and those that are Dogs. I want them all, but in the case of Dogs I want to only retrieve the "Animal part" of them. I found the @org.hibernate.annotations.Entity(polymorphism = PolymorphismType.EXPLICIT) but as I could see this only works if Animal isn't an @Entity. Thanks a lot.

  • Java - If statement with String comparison fails

    - by Andrea
    I really don't know why the if statement below is not executing: if (s == "/quit") { System.out.println("quitted"); } Below is the whole class. It is probably a really stupid logic problem but I have been pulling my hair out over here not being able to figure this out. Thanks for looking :) class TextParser extends Thread { public void run() { while (true) { for(int i = 0; i < connectionList.size(); i++) { try { System.out.println("reading " + i); Connection c = connectionList.elementAt(i); Thread.sleep(200); System.out.println("reading " + i); String s = ""; if (c.in.ready() == true) { s = c.in.readLine(); //System.out.println(i + "> "+ s); if (s == "/quit") { System.out.println("quitted"); } if(! s.equals("")) { for(int j = 0; j < connectionList.size(); j++) { Connection c2 = connectionList.elementAt(j); c2.out.println(s); } } } } catch(Exception e){ System.out.println("reading error"); } } } } }

  • Java Code for calculating Leap Year, is this code correct ?

    - by Ibn Saeed
    Hello I am following "The Art and Science of Java" book and it shows how to calculate a leap year. The book uses ACM Java Task Force's library. Here is the code the books uses: import acm.program.*; public class LeapYear extends ConsoleProgram { public void run() { println("This program calculates leap year."); int year = readInt("Enter the year: "); boolean isLeapYear = ((year % 4 == 0) && (year % 100 != 0) || (year % 400 == 0)); if (isLeapYear) { println(year + " is a leap year."); } else println(year + " is not a leap year."); } } Now, this is how I calculated the leap year. import acm.program.*; public class LeapYear extends ConsoleProgram { public void run() { println("This program calculates leap year."); int year = readInt("Enter the year: "); if ((year % 4 == 0) && year % 100 != 0) { println(year + " is a leap year."); } else if ((year % 4 == 0) && (year % 100 == 0) && (year % 400 == 0)) { println(year + " is a leap year."); } else { println(year + " is not a leap year."); } } } Is there anything wrong with my code or should i use the one provided by the book ? EDIT :: Both of the above code works fine, What i want to ask is which code is the best way to calculate the leap year.

  • boost::spirit (qi) decision between float and double

    - by ChrisInked
    I have a parser which parses different data types from an input file. I already figured out, that spirit can decide between short and int, for example: value %= (shortIntNode | longIntNode); with shortIntNode %= (qi::short_ >> !qi::double_) [qi::_val = phoenix::bind(&CreateShortIntNode, qi::_1)]; longIntNode %= (qi::int_ >> !qi::double_) [qi::_val = phoenix::bind(&CreateLongIntNode, qi::_1)]; I used this type of rules to detect doubles as well (from the answers here and here). The parser was able to decide between int for numbers 65535 and short for numbers <= 65535. But, for float_ and double_ it does not work as expected. It just rounds these values to parse it into a float value, if there is a rule like this: value %= (floatNode | doubleFloatNode); with floatNode %= (qi::float_) [qi::_val = phoenix::bind(&CreateFloatNode, qi::_1)]; doubleFloatNode %= (qi::double_) [qi::_val = phoenix::bind(&CreateDoubleFloatNode, qi::_1)]; Do you know if there is something like an option or some other trick to decide between float_ and double_ depending on the data type range? Thank you very much!

  • Weird camera Intent behavior

    - by David Erosa
    Hi all. I'm invoking the MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE intent with the MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT extra so that it does save the image to that file. On the onActivityResult I can check that the image is being saved in the intended file, which is correct. The weird thing is that anyhow, the image is also saved in a file named something like "/sdcard/Pictures/Camera/1298041488657.jpg" (epoch time in which the image was taken). I've checked the Camera app source (froyo-release branch) and I'm almost sure that the code path is correct and wouldn't have to save the image, but I'm a noob and I'm not completly sure. AFAIK, the image saving process starts with this callback (comments are mine): private final class JpegPictureCallback implements PictureCallback { ... public void onPictureTaken(...){ ... // This is where the image is passed back to the invoking activity. mImageCapture.storeImage(jpegData, camera, mLocation); ... public void storeImage(final byte[] data, android.hardware.Camera camera, Location loc) { if (!mIsImageCaptureIntent) { // Am i an intent? int degree = storeImage(data, loc); // THIS SHOULD NOT BE CALLED WITHIN THE CAPTURE INTENT!! ....... // An finally: private int storeImage(byte[] data, Location loc) { try { long dateTaken = System.currentTimeMillis(); String title = createName(dateTaken); String filename = title + ".jpg"; // Eureka, timestamp filename! ... So, I'm receiving the correct data, but it's also being saved in the "storeImage(data, loc);" method call, which should not be called... It'd not be a problem if I could get the newly created filename from the intent result data, but I can't. When I found this out, I found about 20 image files from my tests that I didn't know were on my sdcard :) I'm getting this behavior both with my Nexus One with Froyo and my Huawei U8110 with Eclair. Could please anyone enlight me? Thanks a lot.

Postconditions: none description: this function is overloaded for outputing pointers to Students ----------------------------------------------------------------------------*/ ostream & operator<<(ostream &out, StudentPointer &s) { s->display(out); } #endif Now I'm having some issues with it. For one, when I add 0 to a queue and then I output the queue like so.. Queue<double> qdub; qdub.enqueue(0); cout << qdub << endl; That works, it will output 0. But for example, if I modify that queue in any way.. like.. assign it to a different queue.. Queue<double> qdub1; Queue<double> qdub2; qdub1.enqueue(0; qdub2 = qdub1; cout << qdub2 << endl; It will give me weird values for 0 like.. 7.86914e-316. Help on this would be much appreciated!

  • Sql server query using function and view is slower

    - by Lieven Cardoen
    I have a table with a xml column named Data: CREATE TABLE [dbo].[Users]( [UserId] [int] IDENTITY(1,1) NOT NULL, [FirstName] [nvarchar](max) NOT NULL, [LastName] [nvarchar](max) NOT NULL, [Email] [nvarchar](250) NOT NULL, [Password] [nvarchar](max) NULL, [UserName] [nvarchar](250) NOT NULL, [LanguageId] [int] NOT NULL, [Data] [xml] NULL, [IsDeleted] [bit] NOT NULL,... In the Data column there's this xml <data> <RRN>...</RRN> <DateOfBirth>...</DateOfBirth> <Gender>...</Gender> </data> Now, executing this query: SELECT UserId FROM Users WHERE data.value('(/data/RRN)[1]', 'nvarchar(max)') = @RRN after clearing the cache takes (if I execute it a couple of times after each other) 910, 739, 630, 635, ... ms. Now, a db specialist told me that adding a function, a view and changing the query would make it much more faster to search a user with a given RRN. But, instead, these are the results when I execute with the changes from the db specialist: 2584, 2342, 2322, 2383, ... This is the added function: CREATE FUNCTION dbo.fn_Users_RRN(@data xml) RETURNS varchar(100) WITH SCHEMABINDING AS BEGIN RETURN @data.value('(/data/RRN)[1]', 'varchar(max)'); END; The added view: CREATE VIEW vwi_Users WITH SCHEMABINDING AS SELECT UserId, dbo.fn_Users_RRN(Data) AS RRN from dbo.Users Indexes: CREATE UNIQUE CLUSTERED INDEX cx_vwi_Users ON vwi_Users(UserId) CREATE NONCLUSTERED INDEX cx_vwi_Users__RRN ON vwi_Users(RRN) And then the changed query: SELECT UserId FROM Users WHERE dbo.fn_Users_RRN(Data) = '59021626919-61861855-S_FA1E11' Why is the solution with a function and a view going slower?

  • C++: select argmax over vector of classes w.r.t. arbitrary expression

    - by karpathy
    Hello, I have trouble describing my problem so I'll give an example: I have a class description that has a couple of variables in it, for example: class A{ float a, b, c, d; } Now, I maintain a vector<A> that contains many of these classes. What I need to do very very often is to find the object inside this vector that satisfies that one of it's parameters is maximal w.r.t to the others. i.e code looks something like: int maxi=-1; float maxa=-1000; for(int i=0;i<vec.size();i++){ res= vec[i].a; if(res > maxa) { maxa= res; maxi=i; } } return vec[maxi]; However, sometimes I need to find class with maximal a, sometimes with maximal b, sometimes the class with maximal 0.8*a + 0.2*b, sometimes I want a maximal a*VAR + b, where VAR is some variable that is assigned in front, etc. In other words, I need to evaluate an expression for every class, and take the max. I find myself copy-pasting this everywhere, and only changing the single line that defines res. What makes it even more complicated is that even the name of the vector changes. Sometimes it's vec, sometimes it can be something else. I have many vectors that contain A's. This could be changed if this makes the problem too hard. Is there some nice way to avoid this insanity in C++? What's the neatest way to handle this? Thank you!

  • Animating translation and scaling of view in Android

    - by hgpc
    I have to animate a view from state A to B with changes to its scale, position and scrolling. I know everything about state A (widthA, heightA, topA, leftA, scrollXA, scrollYA) and state B (widthB, heightB, topB, leftB, scrollXB, scrollYB). So far I wrote the following code: AnimationSet animation = new AnimationSet(true); int toXDelta; // What goes here? int toYDelta; // What goes here? TranslateAnimation translateAnimation = new TranslateAnimation(1, toXDelta, 1, toYDelta); translateAnimation.setDuration(duration); animation.addAnimation(translateAnimation); float scale = (float) widthB / (float) widthA; ScaleAnimation scaleAnimation = new ScaleAnimation(1, scale, 1, scale); scaleAnimation.setDuration(duration); animation.addAnimation(scaleAnimation); animation.setAnimationListener(new AnimationListener() { @Override public void onAnimationEnd(Animation arg0) { view.clearAnimation(); // Change view to state B } @Override public void onAnimationRepeat(Animation arg0) {} @Override public void onAnimationStart(Animation arg0) {} }); view.startAnimation(animation); Is this the right way to do this? If so, how should I calculate the values of toXDelta and toYDelta? I'm having trouble finding the exact formula. Thanks!

  • C++ cin questions

    - by Kim
    This seems to be weird: int main(int argc, char* argv[]) { cout << "function main() .." << '\n'; char ch = 0; double number_value=1.1; cin >> ch; cin.putback(ch); cin >> number_value; cout << "1 .. " << " " << cin.good() << " " << number_value << '\n'; cin >> number_value; cout << "2 .. " << " " << cin.good() << " " << number_value << '\n'; return 0; } If I input the following: 7a 1 I get the following: function main() .. 7a 1 1 .. 1 7 2 .. 0 0 I understand the: 1 .. 1 7 but why the variable number_value is 0. cin.good() shows failure so nothing would have read and the value in number_value from the previous assignment would remain. I expect the value of 7.

  • CLLocationManager class method not calling in iPodTouch

    - by Siddharth
    HI all, I was using a sample code which uses CLLocationManager class to determine the current location of user. when i run this app on iPad i am getting the correct location but when i run the same app on iPod Touch i am getting a blank label i.e nothing is displayed on the label .although wi-fi signal strength is good in both iPod and iPad.The code looks like... - (void)locationManager:(CLLocationManager *)manager didUpdateToLocation:(CLLocation *)newLocation fromLocation:(CLLocation *)oldLocation{ int degrees = newLocation.coordinate.latitude; double decimal = fabs(newLocation.coordinate.latitude - degrees); int minutes = decimal * 60; double seconds = decimal * 3600 - minutes * 60; NSString *lat = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d° %d' %1.4f\"", degrees, minutes, seconds]; latLabel.text = lat; [latLocationArray addObject:lat]; degrees = newLocation.coordinate.longitude; decimal = fabs(newLocation.coordinate.longitude - degrees); minutes = decimal * 60; seconds = decimal * 3600 - minutes * 60; NSString *longt = [NSString stringWithFormat:@"%d° %d' %1.4f\"", degrees, minutes, seconds]; longLabel.text = longt; [longLocationArray addObject:longt]; }

  • How to access hidden template in unnamed namespace?

    - by Johannes Schaub - litb
    Here is a tricky situation, and i wonder what ways there are to solve it namespace { template <class T> struct Template { /* ... */ }; } typedef Template<int> Template; Sadly, the Template typedef interferes with the Template template in the unnamed namespace. When you try to do Template<float> in the global scope, the compiler raises an ambiguity error between the template name and the typedef name. You don't have control over either the template name or the typedef-name. Now I want to know whether it is possible to: Create an object of the typedefed type Template (i.e Template<int>) in the global namespace. Create an object of the type Template<float> in the global namespace. You are not allowed to add anything to the unnamed namespace. Everything should be done in the global namespace. This is out of curiosity because i was wondering what tricks there are for solving such an ambiguity. It's not a practical problem i hit during daily programming.

  • Convert SQL to LINQ in MVC3 with Ninject

    - by Jeff
    I'm using MVC3 and still learning LINQ. I'm having some trouble trying to convert a query to LINQ to Entities. I want to return an employee object. SELECT E.EmployeeID, E.FirstName, E.LastName, MAX(EO.EmployeeOperationDate) AS "Last Operation" FROM Employees E INNER JOIN EmployeeStatus ES ON E.EmployeeID = ES.EmployeeID INNER JOIN EmployeeOperations EO ON ES.EmployeeStatusID = EO.EmployeeStatusID INNER JOIN Teams T ON T.TeamID = ES.TeamID WHERE T.TeamName = 'MyTeam' GROUP BY E.EmployeeID, E.FirstName, E.LastName ORDER BY E.FirstName, E.LastName What I have is a few tables, but I need to get only the newest status based on the EmployeeOpertionDate. This seems to work fine in SQL. I'm also using Ninject and set my query to return Ienumerable. I played around with the group by option but it then returns IGroupable. Any guidance on converting and returning the property object type would be appreciated. Edit: I started writing this out in LINQ but I'm not sure how to properly return the correct type or cast this. public IQueryable<Employee> GetEmployeesByTeam(int teamID) { var q = from E in context.Employees join ES in context.EmployeeStatuses on E.EmployeeID equals ES.EmployeeID join EO in context.EmployeeOperations on ES.EmployeeStatusID equals EO.EmployeeStatusID join T in context.Teams on ES.TeamID equals T.TeamID where T.TeamName == "MyTeam" group E by E.EmployeeID into G select G; return q; } Edit2: This seems to work for me public IQueryable<Employee> GetEmployeesByTeam(int teamID) { var q = from E in context.Employees join ES in context.EmployeeStatuses on E.EmployeeID equals ES.EmployeeID join EO in context.EmployeeOperations.OrderByDescending(eo => eo.EmployeeOperationDate) on ES.EmployeeStatusID equals EO.EmployeeStatusID join T in context.Teams on ES.TeamID equals T.TeamID where T.TeamID == teamID group E by E.EmployeeID into G select G.FirstOrDefault(); return q; }

  • c++ - strange problem with polymorphism - cellular automaton

    - by Green
    Hello, I am making "game of life" implementation that, when cell has: two live neighbours I make object of class CCellB two live neighbours I make object of class CCellA when has 3 or <2 I make object of class CCellX (dead) Class CCell is base of CCellA, CCellB, CCellX My problem is: That works fine, until I change new CCell(); to new CCellB();: CCell ***temp = allocateArray(); for(int i = 0; i < n; i++) { for(int j = 0; j < m; j++) { c = arr[i][j]->countAliveNeighbor(); if(c == 3) { temp[i][j] = new CCellA(); temp[i][j]->alive = 1; }else if(c == 2) { temp[i][j] = new CCell(); // HERE, WHEN I CHANGE IT TO CCELLB IT DON'T WORKS temp[i][j]->alive = tab[i][j]->alive; }else if((c >= 4)||(c < 2)) { temp[i][j] = new CCellX(); } } } Then it seems don't work properly... Seems like neighbours are not count properly, Cell with 4,5 neighbours still alive alive var is member of base class - CCell, all is public, please help!

  • Web Services c#, Sending notifications Clients

    - by Diode
    I want to send a notification (say a string) to subscribers(subscribers ip addresses are in a database on the server side) by calling another method. when ever I call that method the output becomes error-some.
