• A PHP design pattern for the model part [PHP Zend Framework]

  I have a PHP MVC application using Zend Framework. As presented in the quickstart, I use 3 layers for the model part : Model (business logic) Data mapper Table data gateway (or data access object, i.e. one class per SQL table) The model is UML designed and totally independent of the DB. My problem is : I can't have multiple instances of the same "instance/record". For example : if I get, for example, the user "Chuck Norris" with id=5, this will create a new model instance wich members will be filled by the data mapper (the data mapper query the table data gateway that query the DB). Then, if I change the name to "Duck Norras", don't save it in DB right away, and re-load the same user in another variable, I have "synchronisation" problems... (different instances for the same "record") Right now, I use the Multiton pattern : like Singleton, but multiple instances indexed by a key (wich is the user ID in our example). But this is complicating my developpement a lot, and my testings too. How to do it right ?

• flex transition effects works on 2nd and after transition, but not on very first transition

  i have a flex app that transitions between 2 states with the toggle of a button. my issue is that the effect of fading only seems to work on the 2nd transition and after. However, for my first transition... going from State1 to studyState... there is no fade effect whatsoever, in fact the components in state1 disappear completely (the footer fills the empty gap where the "body" use to be) and then the flex recreates the studyState (without any fade refilling the "body" with components only in studyState). After this first transition however, going between studyState and State1 working COMPLETELY fine.. why does this happen and how can i make it so that crossfade works STARTING FROM THE VERY FIRST TRANSITION? please help! <s:VGroup id="globalGroup" includeIn="State1" width="100%"></Vgroup> <s:VGroup id="studyGroup" includeIn="studyState" width="100%"></Vgroup>

• Best practices for combining Lucene.NET and a relational database?

  I'm working on a project where I will have a LOT of data, and it will be searchable by several forms that are very efficiently expressed as SQL Queries, but it also needs to be searched via natural language processing. My plan is to build an index using Lucene for this form of search. My question is that if I do this, and perform a search, Lucene will then return the ID's of matching documents in the index, I then have to lookup these entities from the relational database. This could be done in two ways (That I can think of so far): N amount of queries (Horrible) Pass all the ID's to a stored procedure at once (Perhaps as a comma delimited parameter). This has the downside of being limited to the max parameter size, and the slow performance of a UDF to split the string into a temporary table. I'm almost tempted to mirror everything into lucenes index, so that I can periodicly generate the index from the backing store, but only need to access it for the frontend. Advice?

• Trouble setting a default controller in MVC 2 RC Area

  This should be simple, but alas... I've set up an Admin area within my MVC 2 project (single project areas). I've created a couple controllers and their respective view folders. In the AreaRegistration.RegisterArea method, I've specified that I want the default controller to be "Dashboard": public override void RegisterArea(AreaRegistrationContext context) { context.MapRoute( "Admin_default", "Admin/{controller}/{action}/{id}", new { controller = "Dashboard", action = "Index", id = "" }, new string[] { "Admin" } ); } If I navigate to url/Admin/Dashboard, the index comes up just fine. What I want, though, is to allow the user to go to url/Admin/ and see the same thing. When I do this, however, I get "The resource cannot be found". I'm just getting my feet wet with MVC 2's Area implementation, and I don't think I'm doing anything overly complicated... Anyone had the same problem? Do I need to specify a separate route, perhaps at the root, non-area level?

I search on the internet and the reason I found was: This was caused by how you created the objects, i.e. If you set the ID property explicitly. Removing ID assignment fixed it. But I didn't get it, what will I have to modify to get the code working?

  Hi, I cocos2d, I am using pushScene and replaceScene to move to next scene. But, I am confused which we should use? When I am using replaceScene in some places app is crashing and giving errors like -[UITextView length]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x842a750 Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: '*** -[UITextView length]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x842a750' But, in my program I am not passing length to UITextView. My program is in this way In scene1 I have UITextView, and I am replacing this scene with scene2. • EJB-QL query never returning unless another query is run

  I have a strange strange problem. When executing the following EJB-QL query, my ENTIRE application will stop responding to requests, as the query never finishes executing. Query q = em.createQuery("SELECT o from RoomReservation as o WHERE o.deleted = FALSE AND o.room.id IN (Select r.id from Room as r where r.deleted = FALSE AND r.type.name = 'CLASSROOM')"); However, if I execute this query before I execute the other query, it runs without issue.   Hello everybody, I've got a Problem: Here a part of my HTML: <div id="div_1"> Here Hover </div> <div id="div_2"> Here content to show </div> And here a part of my jQuery Script: jQuery('#div_2').hide(); jQuery('#div_1').onmouseover(function() { jQuery('#div_2').fadeIn(); }).onmouseout(function(){ jQuery('#div_2').fadeOut(); }); The Problem: If i hover on the div_1, the div_2 is shown, if i hover out, the div_2 is hidden, but: If i hover first on div_1 and then go over div_2, the div_2 is hidden fast. I've tried this with jQuery.addClass(); after mouseout in div_1, but nothing is changing. I dont want do make the second div in the first div... Is there another way with jQuery? Thx Ahmet

  I'm working with a legacy database which uses the MySQL big int so I setup a simple custom model field to handle this: class BigAutoField(models.AutoField): def get_internal_type(self): return "BigAutoField" def db_type(self): return 'bigint AUTO_INCREMENT' # Note this won't work with Oracle. This works fine with django south for the id/pk fields (mysql desc "| id | bigint(20) | NO | PRI | NULL | auto_increment |") but the ForeignKey fields in other models the referring fields are created as int(11) rather than bigint(20). I assume I have to add an introspection rule to the BigAutoField but there doesn't seem to be a mention of this sort of rule in the documentation (http://south.aeracode.org/docs/customfields.html). Update: Currently using Django 1.1.1 and South 0.6.2

Each Node has a String title, and I want to make a query where I select Set<String> titles, being the title of this node and of all parent nodes. How do I write this query? But using it in the asp page does not work. I guess the parameters inside the nodes are messing it up.. How do I get this "cuf" with linq? What if I wanted the Id parameter in infNFe ?

• IIS URL Rewriting for all Inbound URLs?

  Hopefully a simple question although one I have found impossible to answer myself using the Googles! I have a website on IIS with the URL http://www.contoso.com/ which points to C:\www\public\ There has been a forced directory restructure so now all of the data (Default.aspx, Product.aspx, etc.) that originally resided in C:\www\public\ now resides in C:\www\public\en\ie\ - however, the IIS website document root is still C:\www\public\ So, essentially, I have a lot of inbound links to http://www.contoso.com/Product.aspx?id=1 (etc.) which are now returning 404 errors - the correct link is now http://www.contoso.com/en/ie/Product.aspx?id=1 Please consider that I can make no changes to the directory structure or the IIS document root... so must solve this issue using URL rewriting. Is it possible to capture all requests to contoso.com/* and rewrite them to contoso.com/en/ie/* ??

• How to combine a relative top with an absolute bottom in CSS?

  I need to define a div which must stay with the top at the normal position, which differs from the top of the surrounding element: position:relative top:0 and which grows in the height up to the size of the surrounding element: position:absolute bottom:0 I have no idea how to combine the both. Whenever I use a relative box I loose the absolute bottom and whenever I use an absolute box I loose the relative top. Can anybody help me how to do this in CSS?   I need to background load some WAV files for an HTML page using AJAX. I use AJAX to get the details of the WAV files, then use the embed tag, and I can confirm that the files have loaded successfully because when I set autostart to true, the files play. However, I need the files to play only when the user clicks on a button (or an event is fired). The following is my code to preload these files: function preloadMedia() { for(var i = 0; i < testQuestions.length; i++) { var soundEmbed = document.createElement("embed"); soundEmbed.setAttribute("src", "/media/sounds/" + testQuestions[i].mediaFile); soundEmbed.setAttribute("hidden", true); soundEmbed.setAttribute("id", testQuestions[i].id); soundEmbed.setAttribute("autostart", false); soundEmbed.setAttribute("width", 0); soundEmbed.setAttribute("height", 0); soundEmbed.setAttribute("enablejavascript", true); document.body.appendChild((soundEmbed)); } } I use the following code to play the file (based on what sound file that user wants to play) function soundPlay(which) { var sounder = document.getElementById(which); sounder.Play(); } Something is wrong here, as none of the browsers I have tested on play the files using the code above. There are no errors, and the code just returns. I would have left it at that (that is - I would have convinced the client to convert all WAV's to MP3 and use MooTools). But I realized that I could play the sound files, which were not dynamically embeded. Thus, the same soundPlay function would work for a file embeded in the following manner: <embed src="/media/sounds/hug_sw1.wav" id="sound2" width="0" heigh="0" autostart="false" enablejavascript="true"/> anywhere within the HTML. And it plays well in all the browsers. Anyone have a clue on this? Is this some sort of undocumented security restriction in all the browsers? (Please remember that the files do get preloaded dynamically, as I can confirm by setting the autostart property to true - They all play). Any help appreciated.

  Hi, I'm making a custom webpart. I takes some items from a list and display them with a SPGridView. I bound the fields like this: // Grab data from a SP List into dvwTickets SPGridView grdMyTickets = new SPGridView(); grdMyTickets.DataSource = dvwTickets; [..] BoundField colTicketTypology = new BoundField(); colTicketTypology.DataField = "ID"; colTicketTypology.HeaderText = ticketList.Fields.GetFieldByInternalName("ID").Title; grdMyTickets.Columns.Add(colTicketTypology); [..] This works. Now, what a grid does behind the scene when binding data to it is cycling through the binded data. How can I access the "Current Item" to make operations on each item while binding? Thanks
