• Running commands over ssh with Java

  Scenerio: I'd like to run commands on remote machines from a Java program over ssh (I am using OpenSSH on my development machine). I'd also like to make the ssh connection by passing the password rather than setting up keys as I would with 'expect'. Problem: When trying to do the 'expect' like password login the Process that is created with ProcessBuilder cannot seem to see the password prompt. When running regular non-ssh commands (e.g 'ls') I can get the streams and interact with them just fine. I am combining standard error and standard out into one stream with redirectErrorStream(true); so I am not missing it in standard error...When I run ssh with the '-v' option, I see all of the logging in the stream but I do not see the prompt. This is my first time trying to use ProcessBuilder for something like this. I know it would be easier to use Python, Perl or good ol' expect but my boss wants to utilize what we are trying to get back (remote log files and running scripts) within an existing Java program so I am kind of stuck. • Error loading shared libraries

  Hi, I'm running eclipse on Ubuntu using a g++ compiler and I'm trying to run a sample program that utilizes xerces. The build produced no errors however, when i attempted to run the program, I would receive this error: "error while loading shared libraries: libxerces-c-3.1.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory" libxerces-c-3.1.so is in the directory /opt/lib which I have included as a library in eclipse. The file is there when I checked the folder. When I perform an 'echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH', /opt/lib is also listed. Any ideas into where the problem lies? Thanks. • Ext JS 4: Show all columns in Ext.grid.Panel as custom option

  Is there a function that can be called on an Ext.grid.Panel in ExtJS that will make all columns visible, if some of them are hidden by default? Whenever an end-user needs to show the hidden columns, they need to click each column. Below, I have some code to add a custom menu option when you select a field header. I'd like to execute this function so all columns show. As an example below, I have 'Project ID' and 'User Created' hidden by default.   Hello, Currently I am working on a Netlogo program where I need to use nodes and links for vehicle routing problem. (links are called streets in the program) Here I have some practical problems of how to input variable linkspeed in a table with another node. Constants like 200 etc are fine. Online I found some examples where variables are used, but I do not know why I keep getting the following error: Expected a constant. • File Locked by Services (after service code reading the text file)

  I have a windows services written in C# .NET. The service is running on a internal timer, every time the interval hits, it will go and try to read this log file into a String. My issue is every time the log file is read, the service seem to lock the log file. The lock on that log file will continue until I stop the windows service. At the same time the service is checking the log file, the same log file needs to be continuously updated by another program. If the file lock is on, the other program could not update the log file.   I am making a simple matchmaker as a learning project in JAVA. My program so far just asks a few questions, but I wanted to do gender specific questions, so I asked for their sex (m or f) and then attempted to add a message that only showed if sex was m. The dialog should say "well done, you are male!". Else it restarts method. Every time, no matter what I type it restarts the program. • bad_alloc occuring when allocating small structs

  A bad_alloc has started showing up in some code which looks perfectly valid to me and has worked very well in the past. The bad alloc only occurs once every 50-3000 iterations of the code, which is also confusing. The code itself is from a singly linked list, simply adding a new element to the queue: template<typename T> struct container { inline container() : next(0) {} container *next; T data; }; void push(const T &data) { container<T> *newQueueMember = new container<T>; //... unrelated to crash } Where T is: struct test { int m[256]; }; Changing the size of the array allocated array to anything but very small values (1-8 ints) still results in a bad_alloc occasionally. A few extra notes about my program: - I used Poco::ThreadPool to thread my program. I've only recently added this functionality, before I had it running with Win32 threads. However, only the main thread ever calls push(). - I am also occasionally getting other crashes which could be related. However, when I try to debug with visual studio 2008, I can't navigate back to the call stack, or the crash happens deep within new(). Thanks in advance.

• Uiimport does not save variable to base workspace

  I tried using uiimport to load a file to the base workspace.....It worked first time....but after trying again after a while...I wasnt seeing the variable in the base work space. I used the default variable name which is given by 'uiimport". This was the command I used: uiimport(filename) And two variables where created by default..."data" and "textdata"(which is the header)....but now when i run it is no longer saved in the base workspace I do not want to assign a variable to the uiimport like so... K = uiimport(filename) assignin(base,'green',K) I do not want to do that because My dataset has a text header and the data itself, and doing this would assign both "textdata" and "data" to "green" variable How would I be able to get the dimensions of ONLY the "data" in green and how would I pass only "data"(which is in the green variable in the workspace.."rmbr"...the green variable holds both "data" and "textdata") to another function. I was able to do all this when the uiimport automatically saved the variables in the base workspace....but somehow now it doesn't. I would appreciate any help or tips on this matter

• About AMR audio file playing issue on different devices

  I have got a quite strange problem here. I am developing an IM software and need to play audio files recorded by another client on Android. The same audio file I've got can be played with AVAudioPlayer on 3GS(IOS 4.2.1) device and simulator 4.2. But when I tried by play it on iPhone4(iOS 4.3.3), the function "play" always return NO. I also tried with two iPhone devices, the audio files recorded by iPhone client can be played on both 3GS and iPhone4. So I asked the Android developers about the record parameters they've used. They said that the "AudioEncoder" used by them was "DEFAULT". • Method for launching audio player on Android from web page for streaming media

  To link to SHOUTcast/HTTP internet radio streams, traditionally you would link to a playlist file, such as an M3U or PLS. From there, the browser would launch the audio player registered to handle the playlist. This works great on any PC, Palm, Blackberry, and iPhone. This method does not work in Android without installing extra software. Sure, Just Playlists or StreamFurious can handle it just fine, but I am assuming there has to be a way to invoke the audio or video player commonly installed by default on Android installations. By default, no audio player is capable of handling M3U or PLS. The player seems to open it, but says "Unsupported Media Type". To make this more annoying, the browser is capable of streaming MP3 audio over HTTP, simply by opening a link to an MP3 file. I have tried simply linking directly to the MP3 stream hosted by SHOUTcast, which should end up in the same result, but SHOUTcast detects "Mozilla" in the user-agent string, and instead of sending the stream, it sends the information page for the station. How should I link to a SHOUTcast stream on Android, from a normal mobile site, without using extra applications?

  Hello, I am trying to run a java task from ant. I am trying to run the "org.apache.tools.ant.launch.Launcher" class. I keep on getting the "NoClassDefFoundError" without any class name being specified. I am also getting a "ClassNotFoundException" along with that displaying a message "Could not find the main class: . Program will exit".   Does anyone know how I can get Axis2 to use a non-coalescing XMLStreamReader when it parses a SOAP message? I am writing code that reads a large base64 binary text element. Coalescing is the default behaviour, and this causes the default XMLStreamReader to load the entire text into memory rather than returning multiple CHARACTERS events.   Does ASP.NET MVC offer any simple way to get model binding to work when you have model classes that inherit from others? In my scenario I have a View that is strongly typed to List<Person>. I have a couple of classes that inherit from Person, namely PersonTypeOne and PersonTypeTwo. I have three strongly typed partial views with names that match these class names (and render form elements for the properties of their respective models). This means that in my main View I can have the following code: <% for(int i = 0; i < Model.Count; i++) { Html.RenderPartial(Model[i].GetType().Name, Model[i]); } %> This works well, apart from when the user submits the form the relevant controller action method just gets a List<Person>, rather than a list of Person, PersonTypeOne and PersonTypeTwo. This is pretty much as expected as the form submission doesn't contain enough information to tell the default model binder to create any instances of PersonTypeOne and PersonTypeTwo classes. So, is there any way to get such functionality from the default model binder?

• How should I generate the partitions / pairs for the Chinese Postman problem?

  I'm working on a program for class that involves solving the Chinese Postman problem. Our assignment only requires us to write a program to solve it for a hard-coded graph but I'm attempting to solve it for the general case on my own. The part that is giving me trouble is generating the partitions of pairings for the odd vertices. For example, if I had the following labeled odd verticies in a graph: 1 2 3 4 5 6 I need to find all the possible pairings / partitions I can make with these vertices. I've figured out I'll have i paritions given: n = num of odd verticies k = n / 2 i = ((2k)(2k-1)(2k-2)...(k+1))/2 So, given the 6 odd verticies above, we will know that we need to generate i = 15 partitions. The 15 partions would look like: 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3 5 4 6 1 2 3 6 4 5 ... 1 6 ... Then, for each partition, I take each pair and find the shortest distance between them and sum them for that partition. The partition with the total smallest distance between its pairs is selected, and I then double all the edges between the shortest path between the odd vertices (found in the selected partition). These represent the edges the postman will have to walk twice. At first I thought I had worked out an appropriate algorithm for generating these partitions / pairs but it is flawed. I found it wasn't a simple permutation/combination problem. Does anyone who has studied this problem before have any tips that can help point me in the right direction for generating these partitions?

• Error when decoding image C# asp

  I am trying to use MessagingToolkit to decode an image in C#/ASP.   Hi, I am trying to compile a c program using LLVM and I am having trouble getting some static libraries included. I have successfully compiled those static libraries using LLVM and, for example, libogg.a is present, as is ogg.l.bc. However, when I try to build the final program, it does not include the static ogg library. • Long running transactions with Spring and Hibernate?

  The underlying problem I want to solve is running a task that generates several temporary tables in MySQL, which need to stay around long enough to fetch results from Java after they are created. Because of the size of the data involved, the task must be completed in batches. Each batch is a call to a stored procedure called through JDBC. The entire process can take half an hour or more for a large data set. To ensure access to the temporary tables, I run the entire task, start to finish, in a single Spring transaction with a TransactionCallbackWithoutResult. Otherwise, I could get a different connection that does not have access to the temporary tables (this would happen occasionally before I wrapped everything in a transaction). This worked fine in my development environment. However, in production I got the following exception: java.sql.SQLException: Lock wait timeout exceeded; try restarting transaction This happened when a different task tried to access some of the same tables during the execution of my long running transaction. What confuses me is that the long running transaction only inserts or updates into temporary tables. All access to non-temporary tables are selects only. From what documentation I can find, the default Spring transaction isolation level should not cause MySQL to block in this case. So my first question, is this the right approach? Can I ensure that I repeatedly get the same connection through a Hibernate template without a long running transaction? If the long running transaction approach is the correct one, what should I check in terms of isolation levels? Is my understanding correct that the default isolation level in Spring/MySQL transactions should not lock tables that are only accessed through selects? What can I do to debug which tables are causing the conflict, and prevent those tables from being locked by the transaction?

• How do you fix issues with the debugger for the Android plug-in for Eclipse not attaching?

  I have been trying to program something for the Android mobile phone, using Eclipse and the Android plug-in for that IDE, and my debugger used to attach just fine. But then it has suddenly started having consistent issues attaching. I just get that message about how the process is waiting for the debugger attach, and then it just won't. What determines whether the attachment glitches so seems to have something to do with what the code is that I'm trying to debug, as it seems to be drastically more of an issue with some versions of my code than with others (on the same app). How do I fix this? Now before you answer, please understand that I have researched this issue already. I have found a couple of solutions that have worked with other people, but which do not work for me. One of which is setting the debuggable property in the main manifest file as true, and the other is going into Dev Tools and into some settings menu, and from there selecting the process and essentially saying to the fake phone, "Debug this process". Neither has really worked. Any other ideas? And just in case...I've run into one blasted technical issue like this after another trying to program for that stupid phone. And I'm not the only one who's having these issues; when I go online to research these issues, it is always very easy for me to find many people who have the same issues, and who are having to use the shottiest, sloppiest, most "ghetto" solutions to work around these issues. I know that many people have created good applications for that phone, but I don't see how I'm supposed to do that when the SDK and the plug-in just don't work half the time. Does anybody know how I may put all this trash behind me, once and for all? Thanks for your answers to either question!

  I have a program here that uses the ldap_add, when i try to run the program, it displays an error: Warning: ldap_add() [function.ldap-add]: Add: Invalid syntax in /var/www/suey/costcenter.20090617.php on line 780 My lil' code here is: $ldapservers='ourServer'; $ds = ldap_connect($ldapservers); if ($ds){ $r = ldap_bind($ds, $ldaprootun, $ldaprootpw); $add = ldap_add($ds, "uid=$fuid, $ldapbasedn", $infonew); } ldapbasedn is set to o=ourGroup; infonew is an array of entries (person information) and am so sure that the array is not empty because i already tested it. the uid is not empty too. What could be wrong? Is it the entries(array)? or the server am trying to connect to? I tried testing the ldap_bind, and it also works well too..hmmm.. Pls help.. thanks! I found the problem.. it's in the index infonew["createdBy"] = getenv("REMOTE_USER"); it returns NULL! now, is that right?

• .NET Splash screen issues

  I have a splash screen for my C# database application that is called via the Shown event. The splash screen contains some information that is preprocessed when the main form's constructor is called, hence why I'm using the Shown event, because that information should be available. However, when the splash screen is shown, the main form is whited out, and the menu bar, bottom menu bar, and even the gray background are all white and invisible. It looks like the program is hanging, but after the 5 second delay I have built in, the banner goes away and the program is shown normally. Also, on the banner, I have labels that are not shown when the splash screen displays... Here is my code, some reasoning behind why it isn't working would help greatly. • Unable to ping server from client B but able to ping from client A. Please help

  This is not really a programming question, but I am at my wit's end ... I am trying to configure a IIS 6.0/Windows Server 2003 web server with a ASP.net application. When I try to ping the server from client computer A I get the following: PING 74.208.192.xxx ==> Ping fails PING 74.208.192.xxx:80 ==> Ping succeeds! From client computer B, BOTH the pings fail. PING 74.208.192.xxx ==> Ping fails PING 74.208.192.xxx:80 ==> Ping fails with a message "Ping request could not find host 74.208.192.xxx:80" Both clients A and B are on the same subnet. The server is outside (a virtual server hosted by an ISP) I have an ASP.NET application in a virtual directory on the server. In IE or firefox, if I enter http://74.208.192.xxx/subdir/subdir/../Default.aspx, it works from both the clients! The server has default firewall settings but web server enabled (Port 80 is open).
