    I am trying to set up error handling for a MS-Access application. The standard method to do this seems to be with an On Error statement in each subroutine/function. It seems simpler to me to use the Form_Error function to catch all the runtime errors in that form as opposed to an On Error statement for each sub/function called by an event on that form. (Obviously, for code in modules, there is no Form_Error function and therefore the only method is the On Error statement) What are the pros and cons of using On Error vs Form_Error?

    The title isn't very clear but I'll try to explain. Having this class: class Wrapped(object): def method_a(self): # do some operations return n def method_b(self): # also do some operations return n I wan't to have a class that performs the same way as this one: class Wrapper(object): def __init__(self): self.ws = [Wrapped(1),Wrapped(2),Wrapped(3)] def method_a(self): results=[Wrapped.method_a(w) for w in self.ws] sum_ = sum(results,0.0) average = sum_/len(self.ws) return average def method_b(self): results=[Wrapped.method_b(w) for w in self.ws] sum_ = sum(results,0.0) average = sum_/len(self.ws) return average obviously this is not the actual problem at hand (it is not only two methods), and this code is also incomplete (only included the minimum to explain the problem). So, what i am looking for is a way to obtain this behavior. Meaning, whichever method is called in the wrapper class, call that method for all the Wrapped class objects and return the average of their results. Can it be done? how? Thanks in advance. ps-didn't know which tags to include...

    Eclipse is adding @Override annotations when I implement methods of an interface. Eclipse seems to have no problem with this. And our automated build process from Cruise Control seems to have no problem with this. But when I build from the command-line, with ant running javac, I get this error: [javac] C:\path\project\src\com\us\MyClass.java:70: method does not override a method from its superclass [javac] @Override [javac] ^ [javac] 1 error Eclipse is running under Java 1.6. Cruise Control is running Java 1.5. My ant build fails regardless of which version of Java I use.

    I am using spring webflow 1.0. I am uploading a csv file, parsing it, and displying results before proceeding. The user has an option to download a csv file that contains the records that did not pass validation. When I click the link in a JSP to download this file, webflow invokes a form Action. The form action writes out a file via getting the output stream off the response: HttpServletResponse response = ((ServletExternalContext) context.getExternalContext()).getResponse(); I do not want to leave the jsp I'm currently on. I just want to download the file. In other words, I do not want to transition to another state. I just want to serve the dynamically rendered file.   • How to GetGuiResources for all system processes?

    Hello, I need to measure all used GDI objects in a Windows xp system. I found a GetGuiResources(__in HANDLE hProcess, __in DWORD uiFlags) method (with the GR_GDIOBJECTS flag). I call it for the process which I get from the method GetCurrentProcess() defined in WinBase.h. I don't know how to call it for other system processes, which I get by System::Diagnostics::Process::GetProcesses(), because that function returns an array of Process pointers, and GetGuiResources takes a HANDLE. Does anybody know a solution for that? How can I transform Process pointer to a Handle or get HANDLEs for all running system processes? thanks for help in advance!

  • Sorting By Multiple Conditions in Ruby

    I have a collection of Post objects and I want to be able to sort them based on these conditions: First, by category (news, events, labs, portfolio, etc.) Then by date, if date, or by position, if a specific index was set for it Some posts will have dates (news and events), others will have explicit positions (labs, and portfolio). I want to be able to call posts.sort!, so I've overridden <=>, but am looking for the most effective way of sorting by these conditions. Below is a pseudo method: def <=>(other) # first, everything is sorted into # smaller chunks by category self.category <=> other.category # then, per category, by date or position if self.date and other.date self.date <=> other.date else self.position <=> other.position end end It seems like I'd have to actually sort two separate times, rather than cramming everything into that one method. Something like sort_by_category, then sort!. What is the most ruby way to do this?

  • A strange problem using jquery in IE6.

    I am using jquery load method to update divs , it works great until I test my code under IE6. The problem is : under IE6 , when I click a button to trigger a load method , the page is remaining unchanged until I move my cursor, that means if I click my mouse and keep my hand away from the mouse , the page is unchanged , if I move the mouse , the page is updated. This problem is only occurred under IE6 . IE7 , IE8, Firefox all have no problem. Have you guys ever encountered this kind of problem ?

    Hey, I'm wondering how one can do that. Afaik there is BeanFactoryPostProcessor interface that let us use BeanDefinitionRegistry.registerBeanDefinition() method before beans within context are initialized. That method accepts only a class / definition. But usually one needs to register a bean that is already set with properties. Otherwise the bean definition registration itself is kinda useless. I don't want to set it up additionally after I get it from context then. When using singleton it's ok, but for prototypes I'd have to set the bean up for each getBean() .

    I am trying to deploy Pinax bundle of Django framework + and selected applications. Here is my apache config: WSGIDaemonProcess ptest python-path=/home/pinax-env/lib/python2.5/site-packages WSGIProcessGroup ptest WSGIScriptAlias / /home/ptest/deploy/pinax.wsgi When I restart apache I get the following error: Invalid option to WSGI daemon process definition Any ideas what is wrong? I am pretty sure my virtual environment at /home/pinax-env/ works. Is any setup required for daemon process outside of apache config?

  • Java.lang.reflext.Proxy returning another proxy from invocation results in ClassCastException on ass

    So I'm playing with geotools and I thought I'd proxy one of their data-access classes and trace how it was being used in their code. I coded up a dynamic proxy and wrapped a FeatureSource (interface) in it and off it went happily. Then I wanted to look at some of the transitive objects returned by the featureSource as well, since the main thing a FeatureSource does is return a FeatureCollection (FeatureSource is analogous to a sql DataSource and featurecollection to an sql statement). in my invocationhandler I just passed the call through to the underlying object, printing out the target class/method/args and result as I went, but for calls that returned a FeatureCollection (another interface), I wrapped that object in my proxy (the same class but a new instance, shouldn't matter should it?) and returned it. BAM!     Hi there! I have a weird problem. I have a PHP class with the following method: public function __construct() { parent::__construct(); $this->CI =& get_instance(); $this->log(method_exists($this->CI->config, 'item')); // Outputs TRUE $firephp_enabled = $this->CI->config->item('firephp_enabled'); // Error point $this->setEnabled($firephp_enabled); } $this->CI->config has a method item, and it has been verified using method_exists().
